Hidden Love (2021)

I almost gave up on this one...

But it turned out to be OK in the end. The first probably 3-4 episodes were a bit weird, confusing, and at the same time sort of boring and bland.

After the first few episodes, the real story of Win and Wit came out. That was a really touching story, and they should have made a story just from that. I think this would have been a good BL story all on its own.

The Covid lockdown plot was different but it will surely not age well. This whole story borrows a lot from a variety of vampire, ghost, and horror movies, and there is even a touch of The Green Mile thrown in for good measure. It wasn't really a scary movie, and they might have done better to try and be less "Ooohhh scary!" thing and gone more for a friendly haunting or spirt thing rather than the evil monster thing. Maybe a bit more like "He's Coming to Me" as long as they were borrowing plotlines. But I get why this was done to some extent.

There were a few twists and turns, but it was all fairly predictable low budget stuff. Hopefully Karma gets Kaeo at some point, she was not as innocent as appears, I can't believe Wit and Win are so accepting of her. Like it was "accessory to murder, oh well we love you anyway". And it seems like they left it a bit open-ended, like they are planning for a second season which is unnecessary. They could have shortened some things a bit, spent a LOT less time on ending credits, and flashbacks, and added a bit more content in other areas to bring closure to this story. I still don't fully get why Auntie Ann hated Wit so much to do what she did, and yet was so nice to Wit and Win's face.

Most of the actors played their parts fine, but I wondered about casting a bit. I almost think Wit and Win should have had the other's role. Tha was supposed to be Wit's brother but looked a LOT more like Win. I though that the Met girl was a bit annoying, not sure if it was just the character, or what.

So it was an OK filler, and I am glad I watched to the end instead of dropping this. But it could have been so much better.

It's stupidly hilarious.

This show is great, because it doesn't take itself seriously. It's an over the top comedy with exaggerated acting and cheesy romance with some mystery elements thrown in. It's not a masterpiece, but if you go in without any expectation, you'll get some great mindless entertainment.
It's a satire of a horror - there's no jumpscares, tension or gore. It's just a lot of screaming and some costumes and visual effects.
Personally I'd prefer if it was much shorter. There were instances of repeated scenes from the past that were just unnecessary. Seeing the same scene for the fourth time I was like "yes, we get it, this happened before".
Win and Wit's relationship was done pretty well. I sympathised a lot with their story and them as characters.
I can't say the same about Kim and Tha. I don't really get how their relationship happened given what we've seen on the screen. I didn't feel any of their actions said "we're falling in love". It felt like they were supposed to like each other because of the set up, so they did. A bit awkward to be honest.
Also it's funny how the show starts with there being a covid case in the building, but it isn't discussed at all throughout the whole show. How's the patient doing? Who's taking care of them? It seems like the charaters we see on screen are the only ones in the building, but none of them is sick, lol.

Quase uma Odisséia

Sendo honesta, é uma série bem mediana. Tem alguns pontos fortes, mas os pontos fracos são realmente fracos.

De início, já quero reclamar sobre a quantidade de eps. Muitas séries realmente boas não chegam a 1eps, e essa com uma crítica péssima chegou a 14.

Vamos falar sobre o roteiro. A trama central gira em torno de um casal que morreu há 10 anos, Win e Wit, eles eram apaixonados, mas devido ao preconceito da época, não puderam viver esse amor. Ambos tinham uma amiga em comum, Kaew, e essa personagem foi fundamental para a suspense da trama, que teve vários plow twists. Você ama ela num EP, mas no próximo flash back você a odeia. As intenções reais da moça só são reveladas no penúltimo EP, até lá vc apenas pode formular teorias. Esse trio mora no dormitório da tia de Kaew, uma doce senhora que ao final de tudo é uma assassina sem pudor, que acredita que suas justificativas são suficientes para ela ter assassinado e mantido escondido o corpo de Wit escondido, depois que ele ficou mentalmente perturbado pela culpa que sentia da morte de Win, que foi atropelado ao vê-lo com Kaew, e entender errado o que estava vendo, ou melhor ele entendeu certo, mas o contexto talvez justificasse se ele tivesse ouvido.

Dez anos depois, o irmão de Wit, Tha, um ídolo da internet, é obrigado a ficar preso em quarentena no dormitório por 14 dias devido a um caso de Covid-19. Nesse período também fica preso com ele um grupo de amigos aficcionados por criar e postar vídeos na internet, e entre esse grupo está o seu maior fã, Kin, que é apaixonado por ele e acaba tendo esse amor correspondido durante esse confinamento. Durante esses 14 dias, eles vão conhecer os fantasmas de Win e Wit, e vão iniciar uma busca sobre o porquê Wit se tornou um fantasma ruim, e acabam descobrindo que ele na verdade foi assassinado, e seu corpo permanece no dormitório, eis o suposto motivo pra seu espírito também ainda estar ali.

O roteiro tem tantos furos que nem sou capaz de contar... Como um corpo em decomposição passou despercebido? Ninguém sentiu o odor horrível? Como os fantasmas do nada podiam ser palpáveis, andarem e serem vistos pelos humanos e como se fossem humanos? E os efeitos especiais de quinta série? E pq depois de tudo resolvido, os fantasmas permaneceram em terra, sendo vistos pelos humanos e utilizando coisas terrenas, como bebidas, por exemplo? Pq ninguém da faculdade percebeu que eles eram fantasmas no final? Fantasmas gravando vídeos para internet? Que beijo horrível o do "casamento"! Isso sem falar no final, que deixa a impressão de que vai existir uma continuação (sabe lá Deus como) com a possessão do corpo de Kaew pela tia vaca morta.

A série traz um tema importante, que é a necessidade de exposição e engajamento na internet que algumas pessoas sentem. A série mostrou o lado negativo, onde muitas pessoas acabam passando por cima de princípios para ganhar likes. Também existe uma boa quantidade de alívio cômico (acho que foi a salvação da série).

Em relação às atuações, são boas. Eu já era fã dos atores que interpretam Tha e Win, acabei gostando do elenco, apesar dos personagens serem paspalhões. A ost não é minha favorita, mas é melancólica e combina com a série. A filmografia é razoável, só os efeitos especiais que são péssimos.
Eu particularmente não verei essa série de novo, mas recomendo, vai que você tenha uma opinião diferente da minha não é?

Good series, but could use a bit of work.

This series is fun to watch, with a lot of twists and turns. There are some parts that made no sense and wish they worked better for the story. I have to be honest and say I hate Kaeo character and did not see a point for her. She was so annoying and was too clingy with the two guys. She needs to get a man and stop being in their business. The main characters are fun and love the different mysteries going on. I like the back story as well. The character of Ann was a bit annoying as well but was understandable to have an adult. There are points where things get very confusing as to why wit was pretending to be someone else that was dumb with the angle thing. The story is good and fun to watch, but there are points that made no sense.

Not executed well!

Effects and CG are very bad but I can understand because of low budget issue.

If you are one who is working as an actor or on productions, you would probably agree that this are your garden variety actors. The actors overacted leading to some cringe worthy moments.

This series is not well directed. Editors seemed negligent. They should have gotten rid of stares as no one does that in real life. There are lots of plot holes and continuity of the timeline in the past story was not well put together causing some confusion. Kisses were very forced. I am being sexually active ever since I was 16 and I have never kissed like that.

Perhaps I have been spoiled by “I told sunset about you” and “I promised you the moon “ where everything was perfectly strategized and executed properly. All of the regular BLs are really cookie cut in the BL factory. As someone who works in productions, I rated this one at a 3 because of the supernatural element otherwise I would have given it a 2.

Horrible

No sé ni cómo empezar esta reseña, lo haré diciendo que los que han dado un 10 probablemente sean del staff de este despropósito.

Te dicen que esta es la historia de Kim y Tha, pero Kim solo sale de fondo y Tha parece más enamorado de Win que de Kim la mayoría del tiempo, supongo que la 0 química entre los actores de Kim y Tha tiene mucho que ver con esto.
Al inicio Kim básicamente muestra que está OBSESIONADO con Tha y llega a chantajearle, luego llora cuando Tha se la juega y se sorprende de que Tha solo fingiese ¿? Pero Tha se entera de que Kim es Kimberly (su fan) y ya se enamora WHAT W H A T.
Luego aparece Win y ya, hasta ahí Kim y Tha, dos momentos de fondo y ya.

Luego tenemos a Win, la víctima de todo este drama, mil veces desde el primer flashback te intentan decir que Win estaba equivocado sobre Wit y Kaew o comosea, pero no lo estaba, después de enfrentarlos y que ellos le nieguen todo a la cara vemos que Wit y Kaew se besan...y aquí (cap 11) fue cuando decidí dejarlo, no solo lo engañaron, sino que se lo negaron en su cara y por su culpa acaba muerto, PERO el drama intenta hacer que te sientas mal por Wit y Kaew ¡JA! Poco pasaron.

En fin, es una pérdida de tiempo y están mejor viendo un drama que tenga sentido, no se olvide de su propia pareja principal y no justifique lo que este justifica.

So much confusion

Gosh what was the pesrson who put this together thinking🤔.
The two females in just proper grinded on my nerves that kaew one because she was like oh i cant hurt win one minute then the next shes practically hanging off wit like jewellery not to mention a shes all asking her aunt for wits body one minute and walking down the hall with a headache the next knowing full well that her aunt knocked him in the head, wth,as for that met girl gosh i could just slap her to be fair making a living off others pain, joker and pao were cool i guess,was a little irritated by kim and tha was just plain confused,didnt really mind win and wit,though all the characters could of been more realistic.
I feel this series was way to long it couldve easily of ended sooner however i dont regret watching till the end even though by the end it made even less sense especially when tha pointed out that his brother and wit is were responsible for the song they sang which most definitely did not sound like a duet btw then introduced them🤨theyre ghost u either cant see them or ur gonna run like the wind ,not clap and cheer lol.
