Andante is more bittersweet and slower paced than Hometown, but both drama's deal with loss and grief and healing. The male lead in Andante is a teenager who needs to grow and mature while the male lead in Hometown is an adult in need of healing from past trauma. The female lead in Andante is a struggling young woman needing help with carrying her burdens while the female lead in Hometown is a bit selfish and self-absorbed and needing to grow as a person. Both dramas portray romantic relationships that grow the people in them in different ways.
Aside from being the best dramas i watch this 2021, it has its similarities because both have a female character who was 'demoted' to a new job in Konto and in HC, to a remote area. Tbh, Konto is more like a collection of stories compared to HC which is more focused on the main couple.
In addition, the relationships in both dramas seem genuine. IMO, the romantic relationships in these dramas were not forced and grew naturally. Both have comedy elements in them too, so both are good stress relievers! Just be reminded that Konto might make you cry in the first few episodes.

- The banter between both the couples is similar and quite entertaining.
- Both MLs are charming and both the FLs hold themselves in high regard.
- Bora loses the so-called love of her life and the FL in Hometown Cha Cha Cha loses her dream job i.e both of them are at a difficult stage in their lives.
- Both the dramas are light hearted except one storyline in Hometown Cha Cha Cha.
- Enemies > Friends > Lovers

Both main heroes suffered from depression in their youth (and tried to commit suicide at a certain period of their life)... A friend of them then got into an accident and died (therefor they felt responsible for their death) and visit therapist.
The female lead is being chased by another guy who likes her very much.., but also very much like the main male lead as a friend. Their manly rivalry/friendship bickerings and fights all over the girl are very petty and cute at the same time.
In both the hero and the heroine met at first as children.. and later as adults. All have atleast one missing parent (even if they were later on adopted by the partner of their related-by-blood parent) and that might have caused them some suffering as children.

-Main couple in both dramas were complete opposites and were at odds with each other in the beginning, with the Male Lead secretly holding a crush on the Female Lead.
-Both Male Leads are smart. One being a born genius with high IQ/photographic memory and one is a jack of all trades. Both decide to lay low in life being freelancers and unemployed due to their own reasons.
-Both Female Leads open their own practice to realize their dreams. Both have a strong sense of justice, are honest and straightforward. Once they realized their feelings, they waste no time to confess.
-Once Main Leads officially become couples, they turn into sweet, fuzzy, cheesy and cringey couples where bystanders gets sick of how lovey dovey they are to each other. Which in it itself was hilarious to watch but also give you a warm and happy feelings.
Both are romantic comedy at its finest.

different plot but both positive, (fantastic is also sad at times because of cancer subject, but same time funny), realistic dramas with real characters and relationships.
also, very similar love triangles which becomes lovely bromance - (spoilers:) when I watched HCCC I thought that I've never seen triangle like this with rival men with so healthy relationship, respect and becoming friends, but then I saw same in Fantastic, even sweeter bromance which started after love triangle. In both dramas SML is very good guy who can see when his feelings are unrequited (though in both dramas FL first liked him) and move on, like it would be in real life and healthy relationships, he can be real friend with FL and ML too and ML very much likes him, they form soo lovely bromance.

Set in the country side, both dramas are revolve around adult life. While Homcha is a fluffy slice of life romance comedy, My Liberation Notes is a light gloomy slice of life with dry humours.
Homcha has Hong Banjang, a social butterfly guy who always helps the villagers but actually has a piece of his life that he doesn't share with other people. While My Liberation Notes has Mr. Goo, a mysterious man who doesn't want to involve himself with everyone else.
