A MUST WATCH FOR BL LOVERS: A LITERAL BREATH OF FRESH AIR
I wish I could give an in-depth review but time does not permit me. I would just like to say that this show is great. PERIOD POINT-BLANK. Yes, there are few misses here and there, but are they enough to make this a bad show? Not even close. Because come on, which show is perfect? I think this show stayed true to its genre: a crime/thriller BL. The crime did not overshadow the BL and vice versa. Everything flowed so well together. IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME, trust me. I came here for MaxTul and I most definitely was not disappointed in the least. I love this show. Like this is the only show I have ever written a review for!Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Need more of MAXTUL >.<
This is my first ever review and I am so happy it's about one of my favorite on-screen couple. But I guess, this is more of a rant post, so bear with me for the first few seconds. To start off, I don't understand why people are pegging MaxTul as old or calling them legends(as if they are way past the age of the common BL series norm). They got their title as 'King of Bl' because they genuinely deserve it. They started their BL career at a time when such series wasn't that normalized. Yet they portrayed bold scenes perfectly well and made it work. If watching two masculine men wasn't hot before, it is now. This duo really works well against the general stereotype of 'pretty boy and masculine guy'. In fact, I feel they are fresh, different than others. Their on screen chemistry and off screen bromance is so cute.SPOILER ALERT!!!
And I was on cloud nine when I came across Manner of Death. I never thought they would make a comeback in a story that is way different from their first time together. The first few episodes were so addicting, it slowly pulled me in. Plus the sight of TanBun together had me dancing in joy. For me the story became a bit too predictable when Nam started disappearing for hours in a black van that took her to God knows where. It didn't take a genius to connect the dots about the needle marks, drugs and Jane. Also Jane's sister didn't look least bit sad throughout the series except at the end. So I had my suspicion about her from the beginning. Overall the plot was great as far as BL stories are concerned. This was definitely something new and the way they mixed in TanBun moments in parallel to the thriller scenes, it was a feast to watch.
While I understood the need to tone down the romantic moments. Was I disappointed to have so little TanBun lovey dovey scenes?
The answer is a definite yes. I wanted more. It felt like some scenes didn't match the vibe of the story. I mean they are in the middle of discussing something as serious as someone's death and suddenly they are on top of each other. Instead of finding opportunities to insert intimate scenes, this series could have been an even bigger hit if the writers worked on Inspector M's character and somehow portrayed a love triangle with him in the mix. Having similar physique and same age group would have worked in their favor. And the flow could have been a lot more natural.
Also after 5-6 years of knowing each together, one would think by now Tul would know where to place his hands on Max. But I felt his hands looked awkward. This time around Max seemed to have matured, be it in terms of acting or his specialty - kissing Tul >.< I could almost feel his intense desire. The way he looked at Bun was enough to drive me insane and watch the whole series. He made me want to watch 'together with me' again. Maybe I won't re-watch MoD in the near future but for first time around, it was okay. The plot was good. The characters were nice. And I got to see MaxTul opposite each again.

REVOLUTIONARY–in onscreen chemistry
Just as good the 2nd time through.REVOLUTIONARY–in terms of featuring a gay romance
without the romance being the plot of the show.
For a gay romance, Manner of Death contains incredible nuances. We have a dark, real world, nitty gritty entanglement that feels inescapable. The romance is part of both main characters' arcs, but not central to the main plot itself.
The show does a romantic subplot better than most hetero romance subplots. The characters have realistic reactions. There was never a moment I wasn't rooting for them. Actors Max and Tul have incredible chemistry. They're the reason I found this series. I discovered them through their older series "Together With Me."
This series isn't for the faint of heart, as far as the psychological traumas, violence, and medical scenes. But it's certainly not as graphic as the worst Hollywood has to offer.
Manner of Death is complex and layered. The surprise reveals made sense and had clues leading up to them, even if I couldn't figure them out. The story revealed itself in a way, fooling me enough that I expected some of my predictions to be wrong. It left me second guessing in a good way that flowed well in the writing.
If you're looking for lighthearted, this certainly doesn't qualify. But watching the series to completion was truly satisfying for the well written mystery and the development between the main characters.

Could've been shortened
Honestly, it's a really cute series and I love the chemistry between the couples! I love Bun's go-getter personality, which actually helps me stay interested in the actual plot, and Tan is a sweetie which makes me stay for the romance. That and Sorn are ADORBS period. I just want more of them. But the whole thing could've been cut down to a 2 hour movie or a five or eight episode series with the bonus feature of deleted scenes filled with fluffiness instead of hour long episodes of nonsense decisions being made just to prolong the series.

OH MY GOD!
This is so amazing already.Even with the limited amount of episodes, I would still re-watch it over and over until I know all the lines.
the setting is completely different from your normal Bl drama but it works so well. the acting is phenomenal of course. Max and Tul really do their best in all the things they've worked on and they have shown that here as well.
There is so much going on in this drama and the plot/ story line really grabs you attention from the start. Sometimes it can seem like their talking abut the same thing over and over but it makes sense because of the topic of the topic of the dram.
If you do watch it, TAKE YOUR TIME. You'll scream when you finish it and aren't able to watch the other episodes.

Crime & BL fans will probably really like it
As a crime fan & a BL fan, I like Manner Of Death very much. I don't think that the crime & mystery part take too much over the serie, same with the BL part. It's have a very good balance (ofc from what I have seen of the 5 ep)The story is very succesful, and I like that many of the chracters act wierd and suspicious. But sometimes it can be very confused. Special with Mr.Tan, when he's around Dr. Bun, but it can just be in these episode, and/or is just me. Who feel that way.
But there something I don't get, are the 2 or 1 person (don't remember if its was 2 or one) who died before Jane, are they related to Janes case. Beacuse they havn´t talk about it, or was it just to introduce what Dr. Bun & Dr. Oat doing. From that I understand, it's not seem that the cases are related to Janes.
The music is very okay, not bad at all. But there is just something missing. But I have to said that I really love the intro music.
I think the acting/ cast is succesful, not just because of MaxTul. But overall the whole cast

Boring And Badly Executed
The show started out okay, but soon turned for the worse. The premise of the show -- a medical examiner and the victim's boyfriend are searching for who killed the woman -- seemed interesting. However, there are so many illogical decisions and irrational character actions in this show that by the 4th episode, I had to drop the whole thing because it was too annoying.
The biggest negative, though, was the romance between the two men.
The "romance" between the two main characters felt so out of place and forced. The whole tone of the show was dark, but then the two would have a conversation and A) The conversation did not revolve around the Most Immediate Thing That Needs To Be Discussed, instead talking about things that should be "romantic" or "flirty", and B) These flirty conversations did not belong where they were placed, and they disrupted the whole tone of the murder mystery and crime genre in the show. The flirty moments felt so out-of-place and forced.
Another thing was that the acting was pretty average and I felt no chemistry between the two main characters.
Besides this, the mystery element was illogical and badly written and I could not get into it at all.
Therefore, I am dropping this show and moving on to something better.

Tul Pakorn
I...made an account on mydramalist just so I could talk about Manner of Death and how beautiful Tul looks in this series. This is really just a hype-Tul post honestly. I haven't watched the whole series as it's still airing but i'm pretty obsessed with it already. I've already re-watched episodes 1-4 several times and I love it every single time. I love Tul and Max so much and i knew they were going to do a great job. All their other series that they've done together (pun intended) are my absolute fav's. I love the music in this so much and the story is captivating and exciting and I can't wait to see how the series plays out. I'm curious to know who the suspect/killer is, I have my theories but I won't check any spoilers that's how obsessed I am with this series and the progression. Tul looks so beautiful in this, he really does. I've always been in love with Max, but Tul and his full head of hair (lol) are gorgeous. I really hope they get the proper recognization they deserve because they are truly great actors. Don't miss this series, it's a really good one. My review scores are relatively high based on only the first 4 episodes, depending on how the series progresses, I might change it so take it at face-value .Esta resenha foi útil para você?
