Heartwarming + healing kit when you are feeling down
I was fortunate enough to watch this drama after Till the End of the Moon (cast has the same main leads) because it has tons of parallels and references even though Love is Sweet was created years before. I found Love is Sweet the perfect antidote when you are feeling down and need a good sweet, heartwarming drama to light up your day and make you laugh. The chemistry between the main leads is off the charts, they deliver the romance perfectly, the comedy, the mix of angst and passion. If you love bickering main leads with love-hate relationship - you will definitely love these two. Male lead is a cunning and confident businessman who is secretly afraid the woman he has liked since childhood will reject him. Female lead is a level-headed and no-nonsense woman entering the business world who deep down is sensitive and kind in nature. The two were childhood frenemies but after a misunderstanding lost touch with each other. Years later they meet in the business world and the male lead truly chases the female lead in secret, trying everything he can to get close to her and win her heart.
There is a second couple who is the opposite of the main leads because the girl is the one with the secret crush and chasing after the guy. The girl is a hopeless romantic whereas the guy is a scientific geek. There is also a typical second male lead who is the male lead's rival in the business world and tries to get with the female lead.
If there is one thing to take from this review is that I wholeheartedly recommend this drama as it's totally worth the watch!

Didn't hold my attention
Ok, so this drama was very interesting in the first few episodes but by episode 6 I was bored. It focused too much on the business side of things and I didn't love those scenes. I skip through all of them. The second couple was also annoying and I skip through their scenes too. The plot picked up after about 15 episodes but by then I have already given up on this series.
The main couple was the reason that I finish this drama. The chemistry was out of this world and the kiss scenes give me butterflies.
Overall, the drama was good enough to finish but not enough to rewatch.

super sweet story
its a great fluff romance if you're looking for one, the plot is okay, pretty typical and the FL has an "allergy" to tears so its a bit unique and unrealistic but overall, i really did like the story. the chemistry is off the charts but you hafta watch about thru about one-third of the way to get to the romantic scenes. i'm currently at ep 28 so i don't know the ending yet.the acting is amazing, the actors/actresses were all very realistic and i enjoyed pretty much all the episodes. some of the scenes were so hilarious though and i laughed so much. the second ML is kinda pitiful tho and i skipped a lot of the xu li/xiao chuan (other couple) scenes bcuz i loved the main couple so much. a lot of the music was in sung in English and although i really liked the songs, the grammatical errors really annoyed me. still liked the songs tho.
very enjoyable drama and would rewatch if i was feeling it. kinda reminds of go go squid, another romantic comedy

How to feel single
LOVELY, LOVELY AND LOVELY!I really love the leads, they have an amazing chemistry and look beautiful together! The soundtrack is really endearing, i looked for it as soon as the ep finished! There' s sweetness and sass and it's really entertaining.
I think this could be a MUST WATCH because everything is on point. There's the craziness of the rival, and the cuteness of the 2 couple that i adore.
Her friend is so fluffy and caring that even when she appears silly it's funny!
It will end in My rewatch list for sure

I had high expectations for this drama because my fave Leo Luo is in it, but sadly it didn't live up to them, though no fault of his. Leo Luo Yun Xi and Bai Lu have sizzling chemistry as Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai, childhood friends turned rivals due to a misunderstanding. The boardroom drama at the first half of the show was amazing, especially when the FML tries to battle investment experts as a fresh-faced rookie. Even after a few setbacks, Jiang Jun's determination finally won her a permanent seat in the investment company she works in, with her friend-turned-rival as her boss. Meanwhile, Yuan Shuai attempts to worm his way back into her life after harboring a decade-long crush and Jiang Jun mistakes those gestures as an attempt to throw her off her game. She gets the unlikely help from Du Lei, an industry expert from a rival company, who may or may not harbor more ulterior motives.
The main story-line is what made me finish this drama, while the secondary couple was forcibly thrown together and their chemistry is non-existent. Xu Li was ingratiating that I had to skip a lot of her scenes together with Xiao Chuan. As for the rest of the supporting characters, I feel that they were handled poorly. For example, Qiao Na could be an evil bitch but she wasn't. Shen Xin and Linda I believe were forgiven too quickly for my liking, despite having inflicted harm on other people. Same goes with Du Lei, his narrative weaved from bad to good to bad to good as if the writers didn't not know what to do with him. Even Tai Mo, who was supposed to be this big villain, was underutilized, and his defeat came too easily. The 36 episode length did not accommodate the possibilities, and instead, the last 6 episodes were unnecessary.

Romance, Corporate Drama, and Character Growth—Pure Magic!
If you love a good blend of corporate intrigue, slow-burn romance, and personal growth, then Love is Sweet is a must-watch. Set against the high-stakes world of corporate life, the drama follows Xu Qin (Jiang Zhen Yu), a hardworking woman who faces the challenge of climbing the corporate ladder while also managing her complex feelings for the cold, enigmatic CEO Yuan Shuai (Allen Ren). Initially, Yuan Shuai seems like your typical stoic, no-nonsense corporate boss, but beneath that exterior lies a vulnerable man with a deep past. His gradual development into a softer, more open person is so rewarding to watch. The chemistry between Xu Qin and Yuan Shuai is tangible from the very first moment they share the screen. Their relationship starts off with a lot of push-and-pull—a lot of misunderstanding, tension, and even frustration, but that’s the beauty of it. The drama takes its time, letting their feelings develop organically. It’s not just about them falling in love; it’s about mutual growth, respect, and trust. There are moments when I genuinely felt like their love story was just one beautiful puzzle piece after another, falling into place. Pop! Their interactions were often filled with those small gestures that speak volumes—whether it was a subtle touch, an unspoken understanding, or a caring look.
But the real charm of the show lies in how it juggles corporate struggles with personal life. It’s not all romance; there’s some serious business drama mixed in—contracts, mergers, family conflicts—that keeps things from feeling too light. These challenges made their relationship feel more earned. Whoosh! You start rooting for the couple as they navigate both personal and professional hurdles, and it’s incredibly satisfying when they finally get their happy ending.
The supporting characters also help to enrich the story. Ah, the friends and family! The friendships feel deep and meaningful, and you can tell that Xu Qin’s success isn’t just because of her own hard work, but also the people who have her back. It’s an essential piece of the puzzle that makes the romance feel real and rooted in her journey. The side characters—especially Yuan Shuai’s cousin and Xu Qin’s colleagues—help add layers to the drama, making it feel rich and full.
My one complaint? Ugh... The show does tend to be a bit predictable in places, but it’s so well-executed that it’s easy to overlook that. Love is Sweet strikes that balance between romantic fantasy and real-life struggles, and that's what makes it so appealing.

Best ML Ever
Had to write a review because of the male lead <3 I gotta give a special shoutout to my boi Yuan Shuai. He's not your typical cold-hearted male lead, this guy's got character. I don't want to spoil the show, so please watch and judge for yourself! I would argue that this is one of the best modern C-romance dramas of 2020!Story:
If you're looking for a drama with a unique storyline, then this drama may not be for you. This drama follows many typical Asian drama tropes including the childhood-turned lovers' trope. However, this show executes these tropes well with a modern and fresh spin so that the story does not feel too draggy.
As many of the reviewers and commentators have mentioned, the first 30 episodes are hands-down fun and fast-paced without dragging on unnecessary misunderstandings. The last 6 episodes did feel unnecessary especially with how they dealt with the second male lead's character development. They should have either extended the show by a couple of episodes to flesh out the male lead's development or just cut down a couple of episodes to just wrap up the romance storyline. I did enjoy the last few episodes of fluff, so I would recommend just fast-forwarding the unnecessary angst in the last few episodes.
Romance:
Hands-down, best C-drama couple ever! The chemistry between the two leads is on FIRE. I haven't been invested in dramas this year until this show. Both leads' acting is on point -- their acting and chemistry feel so natural. I've watched quite a few Chinese romance dramas and often had to drop or fast-forward due to unnecessary misunderstandings, the dumbing down of female leads, or that the male leads are too abusive to my taste. None of this happens in this drama -- the main couple was both rational and mature about their decisions. Though not the most progressive, this show is truly a modern drama in the context of Chinese society -- a step in the right direction. The female lead stays headstrong and smart throughout the entire series, something that isn't common in Chinese/K-dramas.
I honestly didn't care much about the second leads. I liked them separately with the main leads, just not together. However, they didn't detract too much from the show.
Music:
The music was alright. Some of the English songs were distracting during important scenes, but this isn't that big of a deal.
Rewatch:
I usually don't like rewatching shows, but can totally see myself rewatching this show on a rainy day.
I highly encourage you to give this show a try -- it's super easy to binge!

Such a sweet love story
First thing that crossed my mind while watching this drama is that the main leads are so well matched. The name Love is Sweet totally justifies the entire story. Such a sweet romance it was. Specially the initiation of the story based on the fact that they were childhood friends who were always fighting one another makes the story more interesting. I have seen that sometimes guys having a crush on you will bully you leaving no extent to the fact that you will start hating them. But actually after a few years you will realise that he was actually protecting you from others. Its a weird way of clamining you to be his. This drama is based on that exact idea. Even when they grow old their constant bickering makes the romance even more real. Each and every actor and actresses were so great. I will highly recommend this drama for romance loving drama lovers.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Binge-worthy modern romance that has sizzling chemistry
Love is Sweet is one of the fastest cdrama binge I've done - 2.5 days. What I liked:
1) Romance - Chemistry between Bai Lu & Luo Yunxi seemed effortless & fit their characters & banter. Their kisses are so damn hot and passionate especially that neck kiss.
2) Jiang Jun characterisation - Bai Lu really shined in this role. Jiang Jun is smart, capable and I love her go-getter attitude.
3) Love triangle - I liked Du Lei more than Yuan Shuai as a romantic interest. However writer never really gave him a chance and I don't know why writer tainted Du Lei after he became Jun's supervisor. Disappointed Du Lei became douchebag towards the end.
4) Visuals & fashion - I liked Gao Hanyu's visual more because he reminds me of Wi Hajoon. Bai Lu so pretty and wore beautiful clothes. I love Jun's tan coat!
What I disliked:
1) Second couple - I disliked 2nd lead couple very much. Xu Li is manipulative & childish. Xiao Chuan is bland.
2) Yuan Shuai at the start. He was a jerk for sabotaging Jiang Jun's job interview.
3) Cooking scene - It's unbelievable that a guy could wear a full suit & apron when cooking in kitchen. How could he stand the heat?
Favourite scene:
Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai's kiss in his office. Hot then funny. I love how Jun rolled off the desk!

Watch this for the main couple!
As a slice of life/modern romance enthusiast, let me say I was not disappointed with this drama. Honestly, the plot was subpar and synonymous with your typical work romance Cdrama but the main couple oh my gosh. The producers put every inch of perfection into Yuan Shuai's character because he is the epitome of perfect husband material. And the chemistry between the main characters - one of the best I've ever seen ahh! I absolutely adore Bai Lu in dramas and this was my first watch with Luo Yunxi and neither disappointed. They really kept the show moving and had incredibly sweet moments. In my opinion, the second couple was much less enjoyable and had quite an annoying trope for the backstory of how they got together, but they were pretty funny.Overall, the show had good pacing - there were obviously some fillers but the fact that I was hooked for each episode is a testament to how it did not really ever get boring for me (mostly because I was looking forward to scenes with the main couple lol). And I've seen some people say the last few episodes were unnecessary, but in my opinion they set the scene for a good ending and the show's ending would have felt quite rushed without them.

journey of getting into the career and growing with the budding of a sweet romance from her youth
Overall its not a bad drama , but the first chunk of episodes were a bore, until they finally kissed/ got into their relationship. This drama was so hyped and so many snippets on youtube! it started off with a bang! Even has a kiss in the first episode, but then it slowly went bland. The first part was about Jiang Jun ( female lead) trying to get into the company MH. That company is where the male lead is working at. She automatically gets eliminated because the male lead Yuan Shuai thinks she isnt a good fit for the job. This is because when she cries she gets an allergic reaction from her tears and goes to the hopsital. Yuan Shuai have known the female lead Jiang Jun every since they were young. Her dad even hired Yuan shuai to help protect her from shedding a tear. He develops a crush for her but never tells her. Due to an incident, she had to transfer schools and at that time Yuan Shuai had to study overseas, so they were apart for 10 years. Noe they mean back at the MH company.Their chemistry is like off the charts! I was here for the romance lol ! They are such a cute bickering cute and they have incredible chemistry, Their kissing scenes are full of passionate. Yuan shuai is really good to protect Jiang Jun . Their chemistry dont beat " dating in the kitchen" pairing.
The plot got interesting when they worked hand in hand to find out the real truth behind Jiang Jun dad's death. After they solved that, there was 6 more episodes and then things just felt boring again... Like it didnt really link up well enough...
Fun fact - their names Jiang jun means general and Yuan shuai is another word for general in the older days. Which was a cute and creative touch.
