The plots are not necessarily similar, but the comedic moments are reminiscent of each other. Also, the 2 female MC's are similar in temperament to me. These dramas focus on different times in one's life, but the tone and atmospheres are similar. And they both leave you with a satisfied happy feeling once completed.
~Both of the dramas are nostalgic coming of age dramas that are set in the 90s.
~Both the dramas are a package of ingredients like strong friendship/squad goals, love, and family.
~The dramas consist of a group of friends who together explore different aspects of youth.
~The dramas are about figuring out who the Partners of the female leads are which is shown to the audience by moving back to the past of the main cast and showcasing their whole journey.
~Cute female leads.

Both dramas are happening in the same timeline. Beginning of both stories is the year 1997.
Main characters of both of the stories are a group of friends from the high school. Another similarity is that in both of the shows main focus is on the female main character's journey to pursue her passion. In Reply 1997 that's music and in Twenty Five Twenty One is fencing. Connection between main characters and following their life journey over the years is another of the resemblance in both shows.

Both of them are cute with a great scene of humor. The main leads know each other since childhood . The both female leads are strong , a little bit crazy and like to hit the male lead and tease him . At the same time they are comfortable with each other and have really strong friendship that turn to relationship .
They both show the past and present stories of the characters. They both have that romantic, school and youth genre feels that I've been looking for in a series. Both have outstanding casts! Reply 1997 has been my fave ever since I first watched it and I tried watching Le Coup de Foudre just because I got curious of the series and I didn't regret it. Try and watch both! I really recommend them!
