Best Korean thriller, period.
Nerve racking, not even a second wasted. This movie is the best Korean thriller. The acting from FL and ML is top notch. They get into the skin of their characters. You feel for the FL, root for her, and go to this roller coaster ride. What happens next? That’s the question in your head for the entire movies runtime. There is a good emotional connect between FL and her mom too. This is a masterpiece. Nowadays in the name of thrillers I see lot of Korean movies selling sex and some half assed story. Midnight is however no Nonsense thriller. This deserves a whole hearted 10/10. MDL viewers decided to park this in 8-9 category I guess.Some ranting
There are lot of Korean thrillers that people are crazy about. When going through YouTube comments section, I found people going crazy over Old Boy, handmaiden claiming them to be epic thrillers. My opinion, Old boy and Handmaiden are bull shit in the context of thriller genre. Midnight however is a masterpiece in the thriller genre.

What a ride!
This movie is very fast phased! Everything happened very fast, running and chasing each other for a long time, plus will keep you on edge.I just find some scenes frustrating, and wanted to smack the heads of the people who were there on the street. Jeez!!!! But over all, it it is worth your time to watch it as the characters are all great, from Jin Ki Joo acting as a person with disability to Wi Ha Joon's version of a psycho killer.
I am just simply amaze how fit and healthy they are! That was exhausting to watch, the chasing part!

Best Fricking Thriller K Movie!
I've only seen a few clips, so I didn't know if the movie would meet my expectations. However, it very much went beyond it! Everything was pieced together so well, and I truly enjoyed it. I could and would definitely rewatch this. Each scene was so captivating, and the ending was pleasant and pleasurable. The characters are interesting in a good way! I can't express how much I LOVE this movie, especially since thriller is my all-time favorite genre. I was always looking for this type of thriller with this insane serial killer with interesting characters, and I've finally found it. I've got to give credit to the cast, director, writers, and producer. You can tell everyone's efforts and hard work made into this film. Frightening chase, Wi Ha Joon amazing performance shook me
I truly enjoyed this action movie. It has a really simple but efficient concept, focusing on a frightening cat-and-mouse chase between a serial-killer and a deaf woman. With very few characters and plot points, the film manages to keep the viewer on its toes during the dark pursuit.The scenario relies a lot on people making not so smart decisions as well as a lot of police incompetence which might make your blood boils...There are a lot of successful jump scares and action sequences are really well-done. As one of the character is deaf, the surrounding noises and sounds carry a particular importance on the story. It amps the viewer's anxiety as the filmmaking manage to make the watcher understand how it is to be in the shoes of the victim.
The casting was really good, especially Wi Ha Joon who delivers a shockingly horrifying performance. I only saw him in two other roles playing overall good characters so the shift here truly astonished me. Jin Ki Joo acting as his main counterpart was also very solid in her role.
I would recommend this to people looking for a thriller that will brought you all the feels in a very short time. It is very dark and efficient in providing thrills with some good jump scares and action sequences. It might require some suspension of disbelief given the reaction of some characters that might seem completely stupid. But, honestly that did not bother me because I found the story gripping enough to not care about the script flaws. I just went on a scary ride and enjoyed it for what it was.

WHAT A THRILLING ROLLER COASTER RIDE.
It's so intense from beginning to end. I was riveted all throughout and it kept me on the edge of my seat. The amount of jump scare almost gave me a heart attack. How I wish I watched this in the cinema.Nothing new or special in this movie, but this is just my cup of tea! I love every bit of it. Korean movies never fail to impress me! Keep it coming!
The star-studded cast really delivers an incredible performance, especially Jin Ki-Joo and Wi Ha-Jun! I loved Wi Ha-Jun in 18 Again and I'm so happy to see him in a villainous role! He's so good. I hope he will have more projects in the future. He deserves more recognition. On the other hand, this is the first time I encounter Jin Ki-Joo and all I cay say is that she's an amazing actress. I believe that she will be a successful actress in the future.
The filming location and score added great tension which made me enjoy this movie more. Kudos to the director and the whole team!

La historia me pareció muy impactante y me gustó mucho que no es de las películas que tienes que esperar a que vayan por la mitad para que comience la acción ya que la acción comienza en el minuto uno. Es una película que te va a tener en alerta todo el tiempo sin saber qué va a pasar a continuación. Otra cosa que me gustó mucho y que también te ayuda a entender a los personajes y a meterte más en la película es que en muchas escenas te anulan el sonido ambiente dado que los personajes principales son sordos. Al anularte el sonido ambiente, eres capaz de entender mejor cómo los personajes principales de la mujer y la hija se están enfrentando a la persecución del asesino.
En cuanto a los personajes, la madre y la hija me gustaron mucho pero la capacidad de manipulación del asesino en serie me dejó alucinada y era algo que no me podía creer.
Sin embargo, esta serie me ha dejado una profunda reflexión sobre las personas sordomudas. Las protagonistas tienen que luchar constantemente durante la persecución con la comunicación con las demás personas que las rodean pero el resto de personas no saben entender el lenguaje de señas, lo único que ayuda a complicar la situación. Por lo tanto, me dejó reflexionando la necesidad que hay de que los sistemas educativos incluyan lengua de signos desde que somos pequeños para poder conseguir una inclusión total.

PSYCHO
Effectively a crazy movie, ending with a smile on your face. The film reflects reality in its entirety and shows you that you should not judge people by their looks or their problems. The ending was excellent, wonderful, everything you want. Now I understand much better people with hearing problems and what they go through or could go through. Although he was killed, I would have liked to have another ending, but this is a very good one, which I did not expect at all. (An example of an ending would be one where he is in prison, to start a treatment, and years later she would see him again, him apologizing for what he had done, begging for her forgiveness, and her hearing him, because she had an operation to be able to hear. She forgives him, but says that they could not remain friends, not even more than that, but only to greet each other when they meet again. Let him agree, and the film ends with her walking out the door. ) In short, the film is worth seeing, but not in the late hours, especially if you get scared quickly, and not in the dark, if you want to sleep that night. Thrillride
It was my first Korean movie and I'm so happy I watched it!I only gave 5 ⭐ for Music because there wasn't like any music and 7.5 ⭐ for Rewatching Value, cuz you know what will happen and it's not as thrilling as watching it for the first time. Still rewatchable!
To the story:
The start of the movie throws you right into cold water with the first murder.
The female main character being deaf and mute makes it kinda easier for the murderer, which is pretty frustrating, but since she's pretty smart and knows how to deal with it, she always manages to get away from him.
The ending is cute with the brother and sister, the main lead and her mother at the sea, but I wished for the "villain" to get a more punishing ending than just dying.
Ending: I wasn't expending her stabbing herself to get back at him but she was giving off baddy vibes😅
I recommend this one for people who like thrillers and want to watch and exciting movie with frustrating scenes and plots.

this was really good(!!!) but talk about a crazy ride - from start to finish, i was on the edge of my seat, screaming at the screen and biting my nails Aish my heart - kinda knew it would be frustrating, cause in normal times most people don't have the patience or humanity to try and understand, let alone help people who r handicapped - so was sure i would go out of my mind cause of the "normies" insensitivity and lack of compassion or comprehension - wasn't wrong on either account. that's more or less why the cops in the first scene kept glossing over the hearing impaired females and always turned first to the "normal" male - maybe there was a tad of sexsisim also involved, but as the main issue was a deaf persons worse nightmare - guess i focused on that bit.great acting by all - even the by the psychopath (seen my fair share of psycho's on screen) and this is the first one, that u could literally see that he was enjoying the hunt - is was fascinating and scary to watch.
loved the mother daughter bond/relationship - touched my heart how the mother didn't care about anything but her child, and same with the daughter (and yeah its logical) and yet seeing it in action was really heartwarming. it emphasized the evil in Do Shik, as the lack of humanity in him emphasized the warmth in Kyung Mi and her mother.
Jong Tak was an ironic character cause of his profession and the choice he had to make - it was understandable and yet it didn't paint him in a great light - cause Kyung Mi had the same choice not once but twice, and she always chose to help. that's also what i loved about this movie, cause u saw how flawed we all r - just cause every body part is in working order doesn't mean we r perfect as seen in the scene where Kyung Mi in the midst of a crowd could get help.... sad reality but great movie for sure a rewatch!

Overall, a good movie. Great Casting, especially loved Wi Ha-Joon's & Jin Ki-Joo's acting.The jumpscares [especially the scenes inside Kyeong Mi's House] made the movie absolutely thrilling + the background Ost. [Atleast In my Opinion]

The story was good but I wish they gave Do Shik a more in-depth Back Story or at least gave him one. Do Shik [The Character] had a lot more potential than just dying in the end.
I wish they revealed more about his motive behind killing people... How he ended up like this... Why he's continuing in this path...
The Police Station Scene where The drunk man mentions his Family looked like it triggered him. Wish they make a Prequel movie on his Back Story.
Plus the Scene where Kyeong Mi rushes to explain to Do Shik about her Life Plans and him just listening to her 😭😮💨
Could have ended the movie at the part where he drags her away after that convo, allowing the audience to speculate on the ending, maybe even allowing them to create a part 2 movie that expands a bit more on the story.
I did like the plot twist ending but it wasn't exactly satisfying either.
