Surprisingly a good drama
I like to watch anything related to martial arts, if you are like me this drama is for you. Our ML and FL are really cute together. This story is modern coming of age but setting is oriental. One of the highlight was the dressing of FL - it was rea fashionably decent and she rocked it. Most C-drama tend to show female with shabby dressing sense, where pants are more like pajamas. Thankfully this one was an exception. You can see this was a high budget drama with lots of eye candy actors. ML is shown perfect 10 on 10. Story is predictable but it is still entertaining, moments between lead couples are sweet specially when they are bickering with each other. Our FL is not a helpless damsel in distress though ML is her knight in shining amour which is both refreshing. She is confident, keeps low profile, kind at heart and talented. For ML you can see he falls for her in the very beginning when the first time he smiles because she is threatening him to beat him up. LOL It was quite funny. FL may come across annoying in the beginning but she is consistent and she will grow on you. I found the drawback as it was not executed well, otherwise this would have made a big hit.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Tai Chi is great for cinematic martial arts
Sweet Tai Chi had some good things going for it but also some things that dragged it down a bit. Overall, the show is worth a watch if you think you might be interested in the premise. The Tai chi moves flowed well and made the action fun to watch and the cute Piao Piao's interactions with the stoic Wei Chu made for an adorable couple to watch. The action portion of the show visually looked great, tai Chi makes for a great cinematic martial arts style. I would not have complained if they had added more of it to the show. All the actors did a good job in these scenes and the choreography was excellent. The camera/editing work was also well done and did them justice.
The acting was for the most part good and passable with a few exceptions. Most notably (and most importantly) the main actors all did a great job with their roles. I enjoyed the way Krystal Zhang handled her character and wanted to take note of that. However, some of the supporting cast felt like they did not deserve to be more than extras and this dragged the overall casting down a bit.
The Story had several spots that may not sit well with some viewers. Rather than giving spoilers and going into detail on the show, I will just say some of the best moments were in the ending credits. Like a lot of shows, they have bloopers in the credits and these were great for me. They really made me think that Bi Wen Jun and Sun Qian would be fun people to hang out with. However, this is obviously not where you want your best moments. That is not to say the show does not have some good moments. I thought the interactions of the main leads (especially early on) were adorable and memorable.
While I do think Sweet Tai Chi has its moments, I would personally not watch it again unless asked. It may be worth checking out though if you think you might be interested in the premise of the show. I did waver a bit on rating this a 7.5 or a 7, my choice ultimately came down to one scene in the show that felt too cliche. If the same boring Cdrama tropes do not bother you as much maybe consider my rating a little higher.

Beautiful show and wonderful cast great fight scenes
This shows location and scenes are shot so beautifully must have been cold as heck for all the actors since the only way to shoot must have been offseason during the cold but man this show has some scenery... wowThe cast is great. The ml and fl chem is ok. The cast chemistry was great as friends and comrades in the fighting world...
The story was good.. decent. Some tropes but not too much nothing special. Curve balls u can tell but still its fun. Its all about forgiveness redemption acceptance and inclusion. With a overall theme of old vs new
Its worth the watch for the scenery itself but the story is good the cast is great even if the development of characters is uneven..

Sweet Tai Chi is a drama which builds on most aspects pretty gradually; I wasn't hooked from Episode 1. My liking and interest grew gradually as the story moved further. The actors are pretty good; their chemistry develops nicely and gradually; it's not straight up from the first. Bi Wen Jun does great as Wei Chu - I find his portrayal of the character nice and his micro expressions are nice to see, especially when he's smiling and then suddenly becomes serious. Sun Qian is a good female lead - I liked that her character as Feng Piao Piao was strong and she has good qualities; she doesn't whine, takes responsibility for things and stands up for herself. The leads together don't have extremely passionate moments, but their scenes are more like the comfort of home - it's warm and safe, rather than the burning fire and danger of a romance you'd expect in the romance genre.
The supporting characters, like Xiao Xiao and Bai Hai Yang are also nice. The scenes of the two leads with Piao Piao's grandfather are always great to watch as well.
When it comes to plot, I was a bit hesitant at first because the drama could go the wrong way if they resolved the whole issue of Piao Piao's grandfather 'stealing' the TaiChi techniques hastily - but now that I'm watching, the drama is giving adequate attention to the surrounding characters of the drama [Wei Chu's grandma and Piao Piao's grandfather, etc.], and also has given a pretty good background to the issue of the grandfather, which will probably be explained further and wrapped up as the main characters find out about it and get connected. It does have a basic plot that they build on.
Music-wise, its got some nice songs in there, and Bi Wen Jun sings one too. The leads together have good background songs in their scenes.
Direction-wise, I'm very happy, because they've used movie ratio and not full screen, which gives the drama a nice touch as they film scenes, especially the scenes where there are water bodies, nature, or calligraphy painting scenes . The leads practicing Tai Chi together has beautiful background music, and their movements are very well choreographed - they remind me of a very well-balanced, flowing-like-water dance routine [I am a dancer so I was overjoyed watching these scenes :P].
Overall, I'm pretty happy watching the drama - this is one of those dramas that you can both binge-watch or go 1 ep/day. You can also screenshot scenes for some nice desktop wallpapers if you want.
