*Melhor parte do filme é o médico dando uns tapas no ombro do Shirogane no final e falando merda pra ele ainda, eu passei mal nessa parte. SDAUFHASUFHASF)

It is an adaptation, so don't set your expectation as high as you do for the manga/anime

Being an avid reader of the manga and a fan of the anime, I had some expectations for the film, that weren't fulfilled.

To start, both the manga and the anime have a great narrator, so the bar is already high in the first minute of the film and the one responsible for narrating the film isn't as "passionate" as the one in the manga/anime. Also there are cues in the manga/anime where the narrator participating makes the scene even funnier, which doesn't happen in the film. Shinomiya and Shirogane's voices are not what you would expect, Ishigami's lines are quite limited, but I am okay with how he sounded and Asakawa Nana impersonated Fujiwara quite close to how her voice actress, Kohara Konomi, sounds in the anime. However, personality-wise, Fujiwara was the worst written character, she is portrayed as stupid 99% of the time, when she is actually quite intelligent. Another problem is that Ishigami doesn't participate in the manga on most of the scenes the film adapted, so they had to include Ishigami in moments he wasn't supposed to be, and some of those moments just feel weird.

For the story itself, the writers did a fair job on connecting different moments, it is quite hard to adapt an episodic format for the silver screen, so at least here they did their best. However, some "free adaptations" and the original ending were lame, not only that didn't suit characters at all.

The references done were acceptable, too bad they missed a few details, like when Kaguya rides a taxi and leaves it, when she meets with her friends she takes the same taxi driver, which is part of a subplot on the manga. I mean, if they even walked an extra mile to have Koga Aoi, Kaguya's voice actress, in the film, couldn't they do the same thing for the driver?

Ah! Wanted to point out something about the music of the film, which is meh, but there is a specific song from the anime that the film didn't use, but they made a version, and it sounds like a bad copy, when the anime did it so much better.

Overall, I was disappointed, maybe I expected too much of it.

I started watching this movie without any expectations whatsoever. I was kind of guessing it would be some kind of a cringey cheesy weird adaptation, but it totally changed my mind and got me hooked once I started.

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War (movie) was all sorts of cute, funny, and quirky at the same time. I appreciate how it was fast paced and on the spot with the storytelling for an adaptation. Also the ending was not what I expected but it was well wrapped up so the whole show was made to be a very easy and entertaining movie to watch. The actors chosen for the characters were also good looking especially the ML and the FL so it is an added bonus and why you should watch it!!

I am familiar with the original anime of this show and have watched a few episodes so I could definitely see the similarity among the characters and the story line, but for the rest of the show and the ending I have no idea if it had the same ending, so I dont know whether some would like it or not. I must say though, props to the scriptwriters for doing such a great job with the adaptation! They have made this a good stand alone movie without leaving the original story, and an easy watch for those who haven't watch the anime version. 9/10!!

Highly recommend this movie for people who are looking for something cute, light, funny, with a bit of romance to watch it is definitely refreshing, enjoyable and worth your time. ^^

It's OK to watch

Kaguya sama love is war is one of the most popular manga series as well as anime series but we have to consider how difficult it will be to adapt it in live action form, but this movie was surprisingly good. First half of the movie was really good and engaging but suddenly went down hill in second half. Ending sucked, I think it's only for one installment because they have not left a room for sequel. This character was good but character of Ishigami haven't introduced properly.
Overall its OK to watch. Good for one time watch.

Is it better than the anime? No, BUT it doesn't have to be to be Good

Before watching this I had seen season 1 of the anime and read the first volume of the manga, and to me, this story is literally one of my favorites. I liked the anime so much that it made me buy/read my very first manga. So the minute I saw that it had a live-action movie, I had to give it a try. After watching it, I can say that it is not as good as the anime, BUT by no means is it bad. I would say that, if you don't want to watch the 6 hrs of the first season of the anime, this is a great way to get the story in 2 hrs.

This movie covers the overall story of season 1 (anime) in the first hr of its runtime and what I can assume is season 2 in the second hr. To achieve this, many of the individual sections had to be dropped. Honestly, I am fine with that. I will say I am surprised at how the writers were able to combine so many of the sections to flow one after another so well, considering how the manga/anime treats each battle individually. This, however, makes the movie feel rushed in some parts and creates the biggest problem I have with this movie: the little use they gave the narrator. He only appears a few times in the movie. I needed more of that "_________ wins" sections he did in the manga/anime. Personally, I feel that is an essential part of Love is War and shouldn't have been taken away.

Another change the movie did that I didn't mind as much was adding Ishigami Yu from the very beginning of the movie. I think that to anyone that isn't familiar with the source, it would seem natural.

The second half of the movie felt a lot better because it was all new to me, having only seen season 1 of the anime. I was really interested in what they were going to do with the rest of the movie once I noticed they were going to go past the story of season 1.

The actors were great in their parts. The two main leads made the characters theirs and did a great job. Their voices were both very different from the animes but that isn't a problem to me. Asakawa Nana was a different situation. I have seen her in many other works and I know she is an amazing actress, which she was in this movie as well, but her voice threw me off. Personally, I would have rather had her use her natural voice.

Edit: I have now seen season 2, and I now know that the second half of the movie is technically an original plot that follows the student body president elections (Season 2 of the anime also focuses on the elections but adapts the storyline of the manga). This does get me curious as to what the sequel to the live-action plot will be? Is it going to be a more original plot? Follow that the anime will adapt for season 3? Only time will tell.

Limit your expectations prior to watching

I've watched the anime and am on track with manga so I came into this whole ordeal with high expectations.

1. Story - it deviates from the source, and for the worse. There are so many other characters in the manga that could've made the entire movie so much more interesting and far funnier than it turned out to be. I understand it's an adaptation, but it's still a downgrade. For the most part, it felt so rushed and forced to tell a complex story in under 2 hours.

2. Cast - The actors themselves were okay, Fujiwara was by far the closest to the manga one. However, due to the story rush, characters and their personality traits suffered a lot and Ishigami and Fujiwara appeared mostly as token characters - there because they have to be, not because it feels natural. We find out nearly 0 things about them.

3. Music - I wish they used the openings from the anime since they're unbelievably good and set the perfect mood for the story. Music in this movie didn't make much of an impression.

4. Rewatch value - overall meh.

I feel like making Kaguya sama into a drama would've been far better as the story would have time to naturally progress and we'd get to know characters more. It really is an amazing manga - so much so that even anime adaptation seemed rushed so this is by far the most underwhelming option to watch.

- ¿Volver a ver? JAMÁS

Y he aquí la puntuación general.
