I am so grateful for a story line where two brothers compete romantically for the same guy. I never experienced this kind of cinematic tension viewing a film about two straight brothers pursuing a straight girl. But did I ever experience the intensity of the brothers' romantic interests in Pun: one quiet and introspective, the other raw and explosive! This story line alone makes the film worth watching, but the film is worth watching--and is highly valuable, in my mind--for the tearful scenes involving Pun, M, and Sib, the lovemaking scene, and the outstanding performances given by M and Pan.

Left me unsatisfied
The story started out great. Lots of potential. The acting was good. But the whole thing spun out of control. Multiple couples were formed and I was never sure who would end up together. Lots of confessions of love but no confirmation. All that being said, no one was together long enough to build any kind of chemistry. The ending was stupid and confusing and it was just the last straw for me not to give this a better review. The whole idea of the King’s game is fun but only if the order is for the duration of the game. It shouldn’t be taken so seriously that it could potentially ruin someone’s life. The ending was just so open ended that it left me very unsatisfied.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Is this the first of a new series? Is this the set up for a sequel? There are so many unanswered questions. The ending is pretty confusing. On the positive side, most of the characters are well acted, especially "Pun". Young Ryu Jessadakorn practically carries the series. His facial expressions are beyond someone so young. I hope he continues in acting because he has made a fan of me. The rest of the cast are engaging and well done. So while I have some disappointment with this ending, I'd like to see a sequel where the questions are answered and the characters developed more.
Technically this was well done. The settings, the music, the framing, the pace were right on.
So if the reader has doubts, go ahead and watch, there is much to like.

the description for this drama doesn't do a lot to "paint a picture" of what is gonna be, and after watching the 1st season (which felt like a train-wreck, and not cause of obvious reason) watching Pun (a vulnerable, innocent kid that's living all alone) go into that Coffee Shop for an interview - where Tar comes off as a bit of a pevr and one of the requirements was the King Game, i'm like what "den of iniquity" has this boy walked into -when Sib the other partner of the establishment says the rule is "not to fall in-love with the owner" and asks if he can drinks - i'm like, a couple of perve offering jobs to innocents that they later can "feast" on?!? ugh plz
add to this, Sib dropping off another kid that flips him the bird - also a high schooler - what other conclusion can u come too, but think it's his previous lover. u fast start wondering WTF kind sh*t is gonna go down and how far this is gonna be pushed -
But Sib is straight (or deep in the closet) with a beard to boot - in the form off Pan (his gf) and the kid that flipped him the bird is his younger sibling M (that fact is kept in the dark - why is beyond me. but their animosity isn't explained either, well not satisfyingly, until the end). Tar his partner is his best bff - but also a rejected love interest, that confessed but cause off Sib being scared(?) he ignored him and they still bff's (? )..
Pun seeing the "bird flip" and getting kissed by a drunk Sib (courtesy of that moronic game) is interested in Sib, so when he see's M at school, he tries to get close to find out how they connected - which doesn't end well, as M got a huge chip on his shoulder - he angry at the word. and his "turn around" is cause he sees Pun serving at Pan's B-Day party in the Coffee Shop, so he decides to mess with Pun - why? cause... but that soon turns into infatuation - in the freakin blink of an eye - he goes from calling Pun a "faggot" to kissing him senseless - but that makes more sense then Sib going from coming between Pun and M cause he was the one that "dared" Pun to befriend his sibling, and keep tabs on him (informing Sib of how M is getting along) so now that friendship has turned into more he doesn't like it - and get's M fired from the Coffee Shop - just to act all worried cause M goes missing - but the first thing he does is take Pun to the movies?!?? where they kiss and of course the next scene is Pun inviting Sib into the bedroom - WTF??? get Pun has been infatuated with Sib from the start - and Sib is also interested (as he always found a reason to touch Pun and be close to him) but considering everything else happening - not to mention M - this was a WTF conclusion to this pair.
everyone saying they the main couple - sorry, how? neither knows what they want - Pun waking up to M kissing the heck out of him, didn't stop him or say "no" he was all go, if M didn't stop - would they end up in bed too?!? is that how u befriend people??? as that was Pun's excuse. even before when he thought M was gonna kiss him, he was ready and willing - this a new way to befriend people - maybe friend with benefits.
and Sib the dude other then saying "sorry" and going around doing sh*t that contradicts that "sorry" is clueless to what he really wants and even when he does know - he isn't really ready to come out o the closet - even his running after Pun at the end (while he thinks Pun and M r dating, which - what kind of despicable person do u need to be, to go after ur siblings partner?!?) is ready to say he misses Pun, and is sorry - but not ready to commit in any other way -
the only one that made me watch this until the end was M - he was the only character that showed any kind of growth. he showed remorse and change - maturity. he had the ability to forgive and put aside his feeling just cause he wanted to safe-guard Pun from his sibling's inability to be true to his real feelings. and he is the only one who was left heartbroken (as i predicted from the start). he deserved better then the family he got, and for sure the love he fell for -
this drama is more focused on that moronic game , when they could've dealt with all the issues the characters had and take this down a different root and not Pun bailing cause he didn't get the love confession, heck declaration that he wanted from Sib - he got more then one, from M - with actions to show that he cared and would do anything to keep him safe and happy - but it didn't count - not to keep him with M or to even consider his feelings - cause M didn't count. so to say the main's r Pun and Sib is an insult, demoting M to a side character, as he was the only worthy character around, nah not agreeing with this B.S (well Tar was also ok, but the dude needed to choose better friend let alone love interest, and he was old enough to know when to say enough and move on).

The plot was as silly as it gets and the editing came out of a third grade student. The flashbacks were the worst: confusing and some of them irrelevant.
The acting was gracious on occasion but mostly flat the rest of the time. And there was no chemistry between actors - everything looked forced.
Although I do not go by generalizations, in this case I have to mention that the reviews, overall, have been largely negative and the series did not build up a large number of followers - like other more successful ones: TharnType, Dark Blue Kiss, etc.

The King of Broken Hearts
Have you ever seen a show that was a little messy, but all the ingredients were there to make it end well, but then they ruin it? That's this show. It's like the creators of the show didn't really understand where the emotional heart was - the story they should be telling. Sib's fascination with Pun is definitely not it, even though the show thought it was. The emotional center was all the feelings of love put on hold because of Sib's denial of his homosexuality. If they played that angle through, and just let Pun fall for someone his own age, this show could have pulled off a miracle of tension & release. Instead, they provide a piece of crap ending that shows that nothing was learned in the process, and that the one who was true to his feelings from the beginning, Sib's brother Em, gets no reward for being such at all. So, the show could have been tremendously good as a portrayal of what the closet can do to countless people, but instead, we got a mess, with pretty bad acting in Sib and Pun, the two main characters!Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Was just okay
Overall this series is okay. I don’t know if I would rewatch it though. I think season 1 is better still. Season 2 felt like it was all over the place and there seemed to be a lot of plot holes that were not tied together. The ending was a bit bland if I’m being honest. So Pun goes to live in China with his mother and then comes back to Thailand 3 years later. Like okay....so what happened over those three years? What happened to Em in the end? And what about P’Sib’s ex and her friend who’s a lesbian? What happened to them? Also, I guess we can assume that Pun went back to work as a Barista, but what about Em? Does P’Sib finally come out to Pun that he loves him? All these questions weren’t answered in the end, though I guess it’s up to the viewer on what they think happens in the end.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Just follow them on IG. Do not waste your quarantine watching this.
If you think the first series was the worst wait until you finish this.

What a Disappoitment
Honestly, how does this series get so many positive notes? The script has numerous flaws, the characters change their personality and ideas quickly and without explanation ... The first two episodes are ok, but then it only gets worse and more and more confused. Even things that I liked, like Tar, ended up not having much development. And the two girls? Was that an ending? A series summed up in script failures, bad development and good kisses. Just good kisses.Even at the end, when I thought I could be satisfied, it wasn't enough to make it worth it .... sad.
Honestly I really thought it was a continuous from the first one, but sadly it was not, there was a lot of new characters and this time they threw in a couple of girls and for me that is when it went down hill, I just couldn't understand why there were there in the first place?
Overall: I have nothing to bring here, it was that bad to watch.

Not bad - but not as fun as season 1
The story was okay, but it didn't revolve around playing The King Game quite as much, or even in a similar way, to season 1.These characters were a bit more fleshed out, but that's to be expected since it has twice as many episodes and the episodes are twice as long. The actors did a good job at conveying their characters.
Now the biggest issue I see mentioned in the comments is this supposed age gap between Sib & Pun. And by watching the show through I can piece together that this gal isn't nearly as big as people make it sound!!
Sib is a University Sophomore-- I'm watching episode 6 right now, and Pun & Sib are talking while visiting the faculty of engineering and it was just mentioned that Sib is a Sophomore. This would make him appx. 20-21.
Also, school years work very differently in Thailand. Technically, they don't have a grade 10 like the western world does. They have Mattayom 4-6 as their upper years. Someone in those years attend from either 16 or 17 until roughly 18 or 19. So, Pun is at least 17, possibly 18 depending on when he started the upper years, but he's in the second year of his "high school."
This age gap is not nearly as big as people are making it sound. 4 years at most if they are 17 & 21, two years of they are 18 & 20. (depending on if Pun started later vs Sib starting younger, etc)
Also, Em is Sib's younger brother and Em is in the same grade as Pun, and at one point Em made a comment about he and Sib being 4 grades apart in school. Which tracks with Pun being M5 and Sib being a university sophomore.

~Love~ Barely a story
Grellina:I don't even know what to start with, beside saying how bad it was. A torture. I've seen some bad boys love dramas, but this one is one of the hidden diamonds. There is literally no story, no action, no acting. But what was the most painful experience was absolutely, an extremely *annoying music*. There were only 3 or 4 songs played again, and again alternately. And this "happy event" one - disgusting. No taste in music whatsoever. Just the cheap, simple, annoying poop. Another extremely annoying one was popping the name of "4 cafe", "park origin", and "hotel origin" over, and over, and over. Actually I think it was much more annoying than this bad soundtrack. And the same scene of moon....
What about the characters themselves? Main character Pun - typical, no personality character with some psychotic mood changes. One second he is happy, next second has a syndrome called "automatical tears".
Pan - a cool girlfriend who cares only about herself and getting expensive gifts. (Still she didn't get this necklace Sib promised her)
Sib - absolutely the most annoying person u would ever meet in your life. His favourite quote is "I don't know" and let's leave it there. Guy doesn't ever know about his own feelings, and he hurts others just because of his own stupidity and selfishness. Disgusting "faggot". Won first place in worst character.
Tar - cool guy, although he suffers on "non stop facial cramps" which makes him have the same "suffering" expression whole series. I actually feel sorry about him for falling for Sib.
Em - the best character. Actually was the only one who I can say I liked in the series. Felt very bad for him when Pun decided to dump him.
In summary very bad series. Very boring, dissatisfied ending. The title "I am your king" took the popularity from the first series and gave us something completely different. Something completely genderless. I couldn't wait for this series to end.
Prepapon:
If someone asked me what this series is about, I would not know what to answer. Things seem unfinished, sometimes even barely started.
A BL series where everybody ends single is unique but the plot is disappointing. There is not much of a story.
The series is very shallow. It's not ambitious (tho I liked the unexpected scene with the dead mother) but it's not even fun at any degree. Too illogical. It's not possible for the viewer cannot care.
There's plenty of illogical things but my personal "favourite" one is that" Pun, for some reason (looooove for Sib I guess), doesn't consider Em as a boyfriend material and prefers to suffer with Sib, and then not, and then comes back - why? Don't know.
Em respects him, doesn't deny his feelings, and care about him. Sib, on the other hand, is selfish all the way (yes, he pays people to befriend his brother which btw he doesn't respect himself xd and really, since when pity is care? Also, the relationship with his gf is forced because he lies to himself for years and years. Are they even friends? They have no relation, don't talk about important things and just are a couple because they got used to it) and VERY undecided.
Acting is stiff but the plot itself isn't better (the scene at Pun's where he jokes with Em just to "cry" a minute later because he recalled he's hurt. And the c r y i n g - I'm dead).
Overall, I don't recommend the series. It's hard to understand the main characters and their actions.

Give it a shot, you never know
- I will just preface this review by saying that I knew going into this show that it wasn't a proper sequel to I Am Your King Season 1 (which I enjoyed) so I was able to look at this show as completely separate -I'm torn with this rating. I found the show raised some interesting thoughts, but I don't think it dived into them enough. The fact that it didn't dive into them enough also left a lot open for interpretation, which I actually liked - I know, I know, I'm about as ambivalent as some of the characters on this show!
Contrary to what some reviewers said I didn't mind the ending. It felt like a full circle to me and left me imagining that the characters could restart their relationships in a positive and mature way.
Imagination aside though, the ending felt like pretty much left everything unresolved, and it would have been better to have all of the loose ends tied up rather than leave it up to the viewer.
I found the series quite cliche in places (can we do something else other than toxic women, please?) and there were some scenes I found weird or outright hated (for instance Sib talking about his girlfriend in the engineering lab - it's 2019 not 1902; and then that weird scene with three boys in Sib's bedroom), but that's my personal choice, and obviously not everyone would dislike those.
There were a lot of homophobic people in this series, that seemed to have no explained reason to be that way, or in one case changed their stance for no explained reason. In fact, a lot of people did things that weren't explained at all or were contradictory. I would have preferred more explanation.
Overall the series wasn't terrible but it definitely isn't high on my list of enjoyable BL's although if it was written better, it certainly could have been. My recommendation is to try it because its worth a shot.
