Sweet is better than grating, though, and if you can overlook the missed acting opportunities, the show has a scruffy, heart-felt appeal that manages to be endearing without ever becoming saccharine. Like a catchy garage band rock song, the show makes up in enthusiasm what it sometimes lacks in craft.

This drama hit all my sweet spots. Funny, romantic, well acted and full bromance. I can easily say that this is my favorite drama.
The actors were more or less break out stars, and it showed in their acting. That isn't a bad thing- it actually made the whole story more believable.
I like the fact that the romance in this drama wasn't the main concern. If I want to watch 16 episodes of typical Boy Meets Girl, they magically fall in love two episodes later and will do anything for it, I can go watch "Boys Over Flowers".
The story was relatable and well crafted, hitting the ups and downs of being a teenager perfectly. From the endless energy to what it really means to find yourself. It's tone is almost always pitch perfect, and the amazing directing helps connect you to the show emotionally.
This drama isn't perfect- nothing is, but it's pretty close. At times the plot twists are pointless and contrived, but you can move past that fairly quickly.
I give it's rewatch value a 9 because one of the things that make this drama awesome is the fact that everything hits you when you least expect it. The second time around, I found myself not enjoying it as much as the first time. Without the element of surprise, this drama doesn't have nearly the same impact.
Overall, "Shut Up: Flower Boy Band" had a well-crafted story, nice character interactions and brilliant cinematography. I would recommend it to die-hard punk rock fans, adults who are nostalgic about their teenage years, or even teenagers themselves.

After just the first three or four episodes I was feeling like I had just finished it because so much happened, but it seemed so...complete. I think the first four are the most powerful, but that doesn't mean the rest aren't amazing as well.
The storyline is great. I mean, sure, I bet there are tons of these types of stories out there, but man, this was really great and amazing and I think I cried more than once.
The whole complete feeling is just so weird, because I don't get that from many dramas, but this one was definitely complete. I was satisfied, and everything just finished in a way that was good.
Surprisingly, even after just the first few episodes, I was so ridiculously connected with the characters. There was something about them that I found was easy to relate to, I suppose, and to have been able to create the emotional attachment between viewers and characters so early... That was pretty cool.
The fact that this drama is more about friendship and starting a band was refreshing, and while there's romance in it, I found myself wanting less of it. It's well-balanced though.
The entire drama I found rather realstic, which is pretty awesome.
All of the acting I thought was really good. The characters they portrayed were realistic and relatable, and really well done.
I found Woo Kyung somewhat annoying at times, but still she's a great character. Even the most annoying guys like Pyo Joo were likable.
As it's a music drama, the music was prominent, though personally I wished there was more. I loved all the songs though.
I would rewatch this, definitely. And if you haven't watched it already, go watch it.
Excuse my gushing though. I just finished watching it and remain amazed.

The story, the characters, the acting, the music. Everything was good.
The best thing about SUFBB is that it was always concentrating on the boys' friendship and their relationships with each other. It felt very realistic.
The entire drama was very heart-warming and, at times, heart-breaking...but that's the good thing about it.
They laughed, argued, and even fought with each other, but in the end, they were following the same dream and knew that: no matter how far apart from each other they were, they'd always be together.
If the characters didn't go through hardships and didn't struggle for what they truly wanted to achieve, then it wouldn't be this good.
Their bromance, friendship, ambitions, dreams- - -It all made me so happy and made me want to struggle for my own dream...and the feeling was amazing.
SUFBB taught me many things...especially about true friendship and how hard you have to work to achieve your goals...even if you have to sacrifice things that are important to you.
So, basically, if you want to watch a drama that concentrates deeply on friendship and dreams, 'Shut Up Flower Boy Band' is definetly what you're looking for.
So...Shut Up and Go Watch It!! ;)

Before starting this drama I had read few comments as well as reviews and they were mostly mixed. So I was not really sure whether I would really like this drama or not, given the ridiculous name and the mixed reviews. But, boy was I wrong! I was so stupid for not giving this a try earlier on.
It was a beautiful drama. I fell in love with Sung Joon in this drama. The situations portrayed in this drama were relatable. The coming of age story was so sweet. Each of the characters developed throughout the drama and grew up. I was hooked from the very first episode. Their struggle as a band, their strong bond and self discovery was depicted so nicely. At first I found the main female lead to be annoying. She seemed to be the same typical damsel in distress, who had every guy falling at her feet. But, even though she was a damsel in distress yet she took responsibility for herself and her situation and gave a piece of her mind when it was needed. And I learned to love her as the story progressed further.
At first, I was of the opinion that this drama was about some silly band, their struggle and eventually their rise to fame and THE END. But it is that and more than that. This drama made me care for all the characters within the first 2 episodes. For the ones who stated that they dropped this after episode 2, you are missing out because the drama gets better after that. Fast pace made the drama even more enjoyable and there was not a single boring moment in the drama where I wanted to skip the parts. The OST in this drama is great! Jaywalking is my favourite.
This drama surpassed my expectations. I suggest everyone to give it a try and not to drop it after the second episode.

These essentials are transformed into a story about a group of young men who not only hold a dear friendship but also a deep love for music. Making it believable, the Cast did an amazing job showing a character development throughout all the 16 episodes. The performances felt very true and natural. Even for me – a foreign watcher – the motives behind every action were clear and did not feel like “the Korean way” of solving a problem. The actors are barely known (yet) and gave the show a fresh look without appearing amateurishly.
Secondly the storyline was able to combine the successful trends of the last month in international television: Musical themes, pretty boys and tension. Since the huge international success of shows like “Glee” or “Dream High” it has been a lot easier for those shows to be broadcasted. E.g. "Dream High 2", "What’s up" (although it was actually produced at the same time as Dream High it was put on hold for about a year) and "K-POP The Ultimate Audition".
Until then music was merely used as a means to the end – namely reflecting the mostly romantic emotions on screen and being a good twist to fill the episodes, as it happened in "You’re beautiful" or "Mary Stayed Out All Night". "Dream High" and "What’s up" already took a closer look to the industry itself. And while both shows did a very good job, "Shut up Flower Boy Band" puts all this to another level by adding the pure love for music itself to it.
There is also another aspect why Shut up Flower Boy Band turned out to be utterly satisfying: SUFFB got balls. It is not usual to build up a certain group dynamic and tearing it down again in order to rebuild the band, their friends and their dynamics and personal intentions. This huge risks that were taken to create a storyline far different from what might have been expected in the first episode, is the main point of why SUFFB is so unique.
Last but not least the soundtrack is a mix of powerful rocksongs and ballads and refrains itself from audio pitched pop music and gigantic performances. Instead the performances are energetic and filled with a vibrating stage presence.
Overall I enjoyed Shut up Flower Boy Band from episode 1 to 16. I liked the characters and I was able to empathise with them through their ups and downs. And I am definitely looking forward to rewatch the show again and listen to the soundtrack on repeat. Or in the words of the show itself: “Be it love or music, you just fall in love with it at first. But if that becomes real in your heart it’s insufferable afterwards, like how falling in love is easy but keeping that heart going is hard.”

Story- The 2nd episode shocked me to the core. I thought it was genius the way they handled Lee Min Ki’s cameo exit. This sets up the rest of the series. After that unpredictable beginning the rest is pretty much predictable. Basically the rest of the plot is how Eye Candy goes from being an outcast to being famous. Then we get to see their downfall and how they all succeed in their own way. I thought the way they wrote the romance was very appropriate for high school. It was sweet and innocent but still had some drama in there like young love does. The ending was not a disappointment.
Acting/Cast- I just want to say I was pretty impressed with the young cast. Sung Joon played his role so perfectly. It was like he was a real person and not a character. I loved the entire cast. They just meshed well together and the band felt like they were real longtime friends who enjoyed playing music.
Music- loved the score. The OST is amazing! I play the songs over and over again and I will be listening to it for a longtime to come.
Rewatch- The story itself wasn’t anything I really have to see again but I loved the cast and OST so much I would watch this again once a year.
Overall Flower Boy Band has an unforgettable beginning, awesome cast, and amazing OST which makes for a memorable watch.

The Storyline was executed brilliantly; take a basic structure of what you need to make a fantastic drama, add that with a serious dose of great music, and top it if off with a great cast...what do you get?
A GREAT DRAMA!
I enjoyed every bit of it, but what I liked the most was the pace in which the drama had, every single scene was understandable, nothing was rushed and you could tell the plot was well thought through. I was completely engrossed into this drama and loved every bit of it!
I really wanted to be critical with my scoring, but having judged this drama against it's own kind (i.e. Music band drama's) This was so worth every mark awarded...I can't speak for you, so all I can say to you is Shut up and watch (^_^)/

I cannot say I loved it because of bitter-sweet ending that I hate the most, but it's certainly a great drama.
Don't get me wrong, ending was good, that's just me whining that it didn't ended the way I expected. But that is irrelevant.
Lee Min Ki was great as Byung Hee, even though it was just a guest role. Other actors despite being young did excellent and portrayed their characters very well.
Story is well done though I notice some minor holes in it in the later part, but that's understandable and almost unnoticeable.
Episodes are about 45 minutes long. Which is actually very good, I don't like too long episodes. Not once did I feel boredom or skip parts of the story.
Music is perfect. I liked almost everything with few exceptions. Jaywalking (the song) have a very catchy rhythm. I didn't like it much at first but it's kinda stuck in my head now.
I'm not sure if I'll watch it again, probably because of the ending but who knows.
In short if you are not looking for a hard core romance drama, and like rock music and friendship then this is definitely for you.
