What I like and appreciated about this drama was the ending. It was somehow happy and they gave the whole tragic illness a better and more optemistic spin.
The love story was really cute and warm as well, even though it started a bit awkwardly. The two actors had great chemistry and their romance was somehow realistic and sweet. The performances were really good as well.
So, seven out of ten.

❤ 雪の華 ❤
This movie is one of my FAVOURITES!!!Snow flower is a story about a girl Miyuki hirai who is physically weak from when she was a child, her parents had been to Finland to see the popular [Aurora] so she is dreaming to go too but with her prince. One day while she is walking someone robs her, and the guy that saves her is Yusuke watabiki who is one of the most Handsome guys ever seen in town. She immedietly falls in love with him, and starts following him to see where he goes, He works at this cute vintage cafe where she went but he aparently didn't recognise her. He gets in trouble at work and is in need to get money asap, Miyuki san hears his story and immedietly gives him the money in exchange to date her for a month...
After a month though he actually falls in love with her and goes with her to see the Aurora in Finland ❤ ❤ ❤
This is such a cute, romantic movie ❤ ❤ ❤

You don't feel the long-time running - which means the script was well written -, but in the end of the movie I felt that something was missing and it might be the fact that the essence of the problem was taken way too lightly.
As the movie is pretty much concentrated on the two main characters, for me, connecting with the characters is important, but for some reason I didn't feel the connection and the sequence of events just turned too obvious.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good movie and it might be very appealing for some people so give it a try.

A Beautifully Sad Movie
This is a BEAUTIFUL movie in every way possible.Snow Flower is a story about a terminally ill girl named Miyuki Hirai who dreams of going to Finland to see the very famous 'Aurora' and finding a true love in life. Initially, I was quite hesitant to give this movie a chance not only because of the mediocre ratings on MDL but also because on some levels, I felt like the synopsis was somewhat similar to 'The Fault in our Stars' and hence, wasn't sure if I was ready for the heartache or not. But I'm glad I decided to give this movie a shot and even though, it's not quite a perfection it is definitely a well executed movie. Things that I liked about this movie are:
- Cast & their Acting: The the pairing of Tosaka Hiroomi and Nakajo Ayumi was just perfect and both of them did a fantastic job as the portrayal of their respective characters. Both the actors had a great chemistry which in turn made the movie a lot more enjoyable.
- Ending: In my opinion, the ending was quite satisfying partly because it was open ended and hence, we as viewers can pick how we would like to interpret it as.
- Camera Work: The cinematography throughout the film was amazing and really helped enhance the overall story-line especially the scenes that were shot in Finland featuring the very famous Northern Lights.
- Background Music: All the background music that featured throughout this film were really fitting thus, making that particular scene much more effective.
Now, for the cons:
- Pacing: Despite the brilliant acting and great camerawork, the overall pacing was really really really slow especially in the second half of the film. I found myself really bored halfway through which decreased my overall experience of this film.
- Plot: The overall premise of the movie is not unique at all and hence, the ending is quite predictable. I'm not complaining but I just wish the directors or the writers had had made some changes in the plot or the character in order to make the overall movie a lot less cliched.
All in all, this was a beautiful but a bittersweet movie that makes it viewers realise how precious life truly is. Would recommend it those who are looking for a heart touching love story.

Gentle Romance
The story is the typical j-drama romance formula. From the start we know that the female lead is terminally ill, so we can figure out the ending easily. It’s a simple storyline and focuses on the innocent romance. In some parts of the movie it moves very slowly and I think they could have used that time instead to show more of the dates that Yusuke and Miyuki go on, to help establish their relationship more. It felt abrupt at how the trip to Finland for them both occurred. Given the limited script they were given Hiroomi Tosaka and Ayami Nakajo to a great job of creating chemistry. But to really create the warmth of love, I felt that was lacking, with no fault of the actor and actress. The scenery of Finland and the Northern Lights are beautiful. I liked the moments with Yusuke’s family (brother and sister), and how his glass making was tied into the whole storyline too. There was so much potential within the storyline, but it fell a little short. There could’ve been more emphasis on her illness and how she hid it from him, so that the ending had more dramatic impact. Overall, I still enjoyed it.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
a lovely film
It's a perfect blending. It has the story of terminal illness that I'm so insanely drawn towards. And it has a combination of my two favorite countries, Japan and Finland, where my ancestors are from. I've visited Finland once, along the coast of Vaasa, but now I want to see the Northern Lights so I'll have to return some year in the winter. I've added it to my bucket list. Overall, a truly lovely movie that doesn't end where a lot of terminal illness stories end. The lead characters are charming, and though I don't like the buying of affection, this movie handles the topic with tact and grace. I loved it, start to finish.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
