A simple tale of a rich-poor young female children who are in the same school in the end both found out that they were switched at birth. Then the story unfolds to something that is heartbreaking. You will later on see the struggles of the 2 female children and how they both live their separate lives, especially the poor female child. It is a emotional heavy roller coaster experience as it heavily focused on the character that's played by Song Hye Kyo & the rivalry of the 2 men that are both her love. Her life ended tragically and in the end (spoiler) the last person who got to spend time with her is Joon-suh. It was a tale of family drama at first but grew towards to melo-romance in the end. The forbidden romance was built up nicely especially towards the second half and the anger/resentment of the original female child had interesting development. Though how i wish the family dynamic was played alot better.
The performances that left a good impression in me were Song Hye Kyo & Won Bin. They simply understood their character & the thought of grief.

If you can endure pain, you are entitled to watch this drama.
Well i came to know Seung Heon Oppa from the Drama Black, He seemed quite interesting and obviously handsome enough to Google. And then it's shocking to find that he is an aajusshi. He is like a vampire who don't age, an old Wine that just keeps getting better and better, So, this month i have invested myself in him. Apart from Black i have watched Autumn's Tale, Summer scent, The player, Better tomorrow, My Princess, The great Show, Obsessed, When a man loves, Wonderful Nightmare, Fate, Calla, So Close. And i am on my schedule to watch Dinner Mate this Weekend. So, you know how lonely i am, and Heon aajusshi, just made my loneliness more suffering. His dramas and movies (most of them) are gonna take your sleep away, make you cry and just feel pitiful. But at the end you are gonna crave for more........... and more. So, if you have a strong heart and if you can deal with your tears this is a great drama to watch and remember forever, like an everlasting essence of life. He plays his roles like he is that person(that Character), you'll never feel like he is acting it's like you are standing infornt of him and the things are happening. His voice is another level of attribute towards his performance, which just melts in your ears. His eye capture your soul, and his smile make you addicted. I have never written anything big and cheesy like this, but trust me all of these are just facts....... Keep up the Good Work Sir. We will always look forward for you and hope you'll always be like today(Like a Vampire) young and beautiful in our hearts.... Saranghamnida Oppa/Aajusshi......

A CLASSIC - MUST WATCH MELODRAMA!
LET ME PERHAPS try to clear up some confusion / misconceptions about this drama!First and foremost, their childhood:
I think I understand a lot of people's perceptions on how weird their brother/sister relationship was HOWEVER - please note they were CHILDREN and you really have to see it from a different perspective.
I think the love that Joonsuh had for Eunsuh was way more innocent than people think (like they had an amazing sibling relationship, with a lot respect, care, and bondness (or jeong/jung) between each other - in Korean there is a term called "JUNG" or "JEONG"; in English it directly means affection but it's a little more in depth than that.
I know some scenes were odd - like where he talks about how he likes someone blah blah; but I think he just meant to say that to tease her but at the same time genuinely did "love" her or have affection for her as sister. He just really was the overprotective brother.
BUT to each their own - I did think their affection for each other was more so innocent / naive and really didn't start blooming into something unhealthy until right after they were separated.
When they got separated; it sort of built a trauma bond between them (?) They were torn apart and it was just such a heavy blow for both of them. I especially think for Eunsuh - it made her miss not just her brother but her whole family and sort of formed a trauma love around him. Same for him since he had to just adopt a new "sister" back into his life.
Overall, WOULD RECOMMEND!! Such a heart wrenching and loving story. I honestly love Eunsuh - she played such a TRUE main girl as the good hearted/poor character which was the THEME back then.
Give it a shot!! They don't make it like this anymore :')

One of the classic
This is one of the very classic Korean drama. I watched this when it's still aired on my national TV. If you want to watch this drama better prepare tissue box beside you & try to pull out a new one not the almost run out tissue box :P. Because I guarantee you'll gonna cry your eyes out. :P.This maybe one of the saddest drama I've watch my entire life. With every actress & actor played their part beautifully. But also just like wonjana wrote in his/her review. I also can't ever re-watch this drama again. This drama is just toooooooo sadddddd for me to re-watch.
Love every aspect of this drama, really people said sometimes classic is the best is very true with this drama.

Heartbreaking but Beautiful
I was looking for dramas that have a fall vibe and obviously this one came to mind because of the name.. it's a tearjerker though so be warned (I was aware of this beforehand). Honestly this story hurt, it's the 1st show that has made me sob.. only 2 dramas before this have made me tear up/cry a little so that tells you something. On the other hand... it was beautiful and engaging, there's nothing that I didn't like about this drama to the point I would rate it lower.-The plot is a little strange but it's clear the main leads stopped seeing each other as siblings when the truth was revealed. There's also a lot of crying involved but the story calls for it so it didn't bother me much. I think the pacing was good and made sense for the drama as well. Overall, I think it was well written and the scenery is beautiful <3
- The cast was amazing, everyone played their part so well. The acting was great :) I can thank this drama for redeeming SHK for me lol (I was a little iffy about her after watching her in DOTS but I really liked her in "Autumn Tale" :) ) This drama also solidified my love for Song Seung Heon (I adored him in "My Princess" and I loved him in here, I can't wait to watch more of his dramas!)
-The music fits the show perfectly and when you read the lyrics it makes the show that much more heartfelt... I loved it for the drama <3
- I don't think I could ever rewatch this because of the tear-jerking story... it would hurt but this drama will stay with me for a long time
It took me 2-3 days to finish this drama, that's how into it I was. I skipped a few times, not because I was bored, but because I really wanted to know what happened next lol. If you're not into/looking for a melodrama I do not recommend this. This drama is the essence of melodrama so steer clear. Other than that, I recommend this drama, just have your tissues ready! If you're a fan of Song Hye Kyo or Song Seong Heon I also recommend!

"Autum In My Heart" is my topmost favorite!!!
I love Autumn In My Heart! I just started to get hooked on Kdramas lately, but "Autumn In My Heart " (recommended by a friend) is far more the best of them all - mainly because of the (love) story and the script; and the director! When I watch something, I typically look out for thought-provoking, mind-blowing, and enticing dialogue! The setting may be old because it was shoot/made in 2000 (23 yrs ago!) but it's ok- classic is still the best! Thank you OH SOO YUN!!! You wrote the script beautifully!!! I/We want more of Song Hye Kho and Song Seun Heun in another TV series or movie together on Netflix. They're such a beautiful couple on and off-screen! They should be teamed up again and it will definitely be a huge hit again like Autumn. Thank you!!!Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Tearjerking and Beautifully Made
just honestly what is there to start when there is so many thoughts into such a masterpiece that perhaps kickstarted the Korean Hallyu culture that is today? Like many love songs, Gaeul Donghwa is trite and over dramatic. But if you can allow yourself to be vulnerable and accept the story, you will be treated to many emotional evenings. The series unfolds like a modern fairy tale (donghwa stands for fairy tale). In contrast to American soap operas, Gaeul Donghwa was planned as an 18-episode soap opera. Some of the plot twists are dramatic and unexpected, but all are essential to the plot and serve to enrich the characters.
That said, the series could've been trimmed by a couple of episodes or so, as it is filled with countless flashbacks and several moments of "Come on, not that again!"
Still, the rest of the series is so powerful that I suspect even the most jaded and macho viewers will surrender their egos and bring their eyes to tears.
What is the message? I like to paraphrase my review of my all-time favorite film, Breaking the Waves. It paints each facet of love (e.g., mother-to-daughter, friendship, romance) with a palette of honesty and beauty.
And what beauty... The series is very beautifully shot, like the "yellow umbrella" scene where one of the lead characters sees the other character for the first time in many years. And acting is superb throughout, including the children.

The first ever kdrama I've watched!!
This was the first kdrama I've watched. When my mom was watching this, I used to watch this. I was very young and I couldn't understand anything but I can remember I really loved its music. That's why I watched it along with my mom. so when I grew up, I watched this again and yes I love it despite its sad, tragic ending. Song Hye Kyo was very young and beautiful and all the child actors did an amazing job. Song Hye Kyo was the reason why I rewatched it and ofcourse my childhood memories made me watch it again. Unique plot and amazing actors. the ending broke me but still I like it but I will skip the ending if I watch it again. overall, I recommend this drama but let me tell you, it's full of sad scenes than the happy scenes. Happy scenes are very limited in this drama!!Esta resenha foi útil para você?
