This is also a drama where a girl is chasing a boy - an intelligent class topper like Baek Seung Jo. But, they are different in character. The lead pair here is cute and they have good chemistry. This is a cute romance and I have actually fallen in love with their cuteness. It is cuteness overload ????
They are actually sister dramas! All based on the same author's novels too. Although "Put Your Head on My Shoulder" is still ongoing, I liked every episode of it so far (even more than "A Love So Beautiful". They are both so heartwarming (especially PYHoMS) with great character developments and include school life (with PYHoMS starting from college and ALSB from high school). If you liked one drama, you'll like the other. Both are very light and you will find yourself with a big smile on your face after every episode.
The girl and boy are in the same grade but in different classes. She's not as smart or popular but tries her best in everything she does. On the other hand, he's smart and popular, how will their relationship work out?
Similar to When I Fly Towards You where both FL try to confess to the ML and both FL in the 2 drama's have similar personality and both are romance genres so if you love cute, romantic drama's then this one is for you.
Both a school dramas and the story follows them through college. It's about growing up and first loves. Both the main girls are dorky and are not the prettiest people. Also their crush/first love are like good at everything. Both try to pursue their love and the main lead falls for them. Good light hearted dramas! All can be found on youtube with English subs!
Both dramas center around a school love transported in adult life. In both series the leads struggle with their daily problems and try to solve it on a daily basis.
Similar plots - high school setting, girl falls in love with the class genius, a love rival (severe second lead syndrome here) and the plot progresses to university and beyond
ISWAK is a legend for this kind of genre.
School and one-sided love chase of a girl to a boy who is out of her league.
But as they say...opposite attracts!

Both dramas are school themed, have a smart, introverted (AND HANDSOME ;D) male lead and a cute, not-very-intelligent female lead who is outgoing. Both leads from both dramas live next to each other and the male lead doesnt like the female lead at the beginning however he eventually grows a liking for the female lead. Both are youthful, funny and romantic so if you like A Love So Beautiful check out The Big Boss season 1 and 2 :)
This is the original version that this drama is based off of. The original is a Chinese webdrama featuring Hu Yi Tian as Jiang Chen (resident cold male lead) and Shen Yue as Chen Xiao Xi (resident naive female lead).

boy totally utterly n cold heartedly rejects :v
then starts to notice..gradually falls..

Kiss Me is the Thai adaptation of Itazura Na Kiss and all its different Japanese, Taiwanese, and Korean remakes.
A Love So Beautiful is the Chinese "version" of the high IQ lead boy and bottom-of-the-class lead girl's love story as high schoolers, college students, and young professionals. The lead boy in ALSB is nicer, helpful (unbeknownst to the lead girl most of the time), and sweeter from the beginning than in Kiss Me. While KM is the best remake of the original story, ALSB is a fluffier and funnier variation inspired by the original INK and its remakes.

Reply 1997 and A Love So Beautiful are both brilliant dramas and similar in various ways.
Reply 1997 is a Korean drama, whilst A Love So Beautiful is a Chinese web series. Both dramas have similar plots - a boy and a girl who grew up together and one eventually falls in love with the other, along with side couples who you root for secretly. I will try not to spoil the plots of the two shows too much.
Other similarities:
- The romance between characters doesn't start heavily until they grow older, I really enjoyed the slow pace of both these dramas.
- What appears to be unrequited love
- EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL LOVE TRIANGLES
- A problem in the relationship which causes a time gap until the characters meet again
Differences:
- The characters and their personalities are very different in the two dramas
- In Reply 1997, the main two are much more comfortable with each other
- Reply 1997 has more family involvement, whilst ALSB has a bit of family but is majorly focused on the romance of the main characters
- Xiaoxi is open about her feelings whilst Yoon Jae keeps it a secrect
- Reply 1997 is an older drama, whilst ALSB is relatively new.
MY OPINION:
Whilst I loved A Love So Beautiful and am greatful that it is my first Chinese drama, I do have a soft spot for Reply 1997. I also found the characters in Reply 1997 more interesting than in ALSB. At times, Jiang Chen would bother me for his inability to communicate his feelings towards Xiaoxi, as much as I loved him. The plot and character development was also much more interesting for me in Reply 1997, but I do have to say that ALSB's side couple was so beautiful. I adored the chemistry between them, and whilst side couples usually are a nuisance for me, I couldn't help but LOVE those two! :) x
