One of the best dramas I have watched. It has been almost one year since i first finished it has watched it again for like 5 times.
The story line like as well as the casting were perfect, I can't really see any other actor or actress to play Zhenzhen and Boxu other than Tao and Janice . At that time I didn't even know Janice and now she is my favorite Chinese Actress. Also the stylist of the drama series should get a raise, really I mean it!!!!! And also the whole cast id so talented. The OSTS we all love it the music , the lyrics and Every single thing about the drama.!!!

warm kind-hearted drama that you can finish without binge-watching

What I really liked about this drama is that there have not been those addictive cliffhangers and plot twists, that make you binge watch for nights in a row. (Which makes it so much healthier to watch). At the same time, you won't get bored watching it either. I've been looking for this kind of drama for quite some time... because usually, it's either just mission impossible to watch less than 5 episodes in a row or just plain boring... Here we have the golden middle plus the value of the drama is not in sudden unexpected twists but in a quality story and quality atmosphere.

It opens up the world of show biz in China in a cute, warm-hearted and entertaining manner. ( I personally found out a lot of things I had no idea about before. ) It has some sad and funny moments, and a lot of real issues covered. This drama left me with warm and comfy feelings every time I watched it.

The main story of an unrecognised struggling artist, who find a way to develop himself, his art and become the "brightest star" was developed really well. As well as the main love story of an "unimportant" ordinary but caring girl with an arrogant "star" guy. The chemistry between both characters is so good, that you'd want to watch this drama just to see/ feel that chemistry again and again in each episode. To tell the honest truth, I didn't expect Z Tao to be a good actor, but surprisingly he is. ( And to my taste much better actor than a singer, sorry fans) About Zhanice Wu, well you either get annoyed with her or love her. If you usually love her then you're lucky this time as well. Me, personally, she always annoys a bit(( but here her character is quite bearable, and all in all combined with well thought-out plot, good chemistry btw main characters and good work of other actors, you don't pay attention to her annoyance that much.

To sum up, I would recommend this drama that is pleasant to watch in a healthy way (without binge-watching)

This is the Best drama I've ever watched

I really loved this drama. I've rewatched it countless times. I watch it whenever i have time and Whenever i miss Tao as Boxu. Tao is my all time favourite. I get to know him by this drama. Taotao is really charismatic and he knows his stuff..... He has swag and this drama shows this clearly. His voice is really amazing. I can hear him singing all day. This drama has best storyline, casting, OST,plot. Everything about it is great. ????❤️
At first i didn’t wanted to watch this drama because of tao.... I didn’t liked his fierce look....but now i love him the most.... His personality, sweg,looks,style,singing, rapping, acting...... I love everything about him. He has a handsome, charismatic fierce look with a tender heart ♥ .
That time I started watching this drama because i had nothing to watch. But after finishing this drama i became the biggest fan of TAOTAO.
This drama has everything that i wanted. But janice's dressing style should have been better.
But i can ignore this this because everything else was just my type....... Just what i wanted....?❤️

Lovely vibes with beautiful songs

Brightest star in the sky- it is really a very good drama.i saw this drama beacause it was suggested to me by youtube but after watching it,i really got attached with the main casts especially main male lead ZTAO.Really he is a superb idol.i loved his acting,singing and the way of his talking which made me laugh a lot.yups!!!!i became his fangirl!!!!!!
Although the drama was a bit long(44episodes)but i literally Loved the drama.i loved every scene of the interaction of main leads.it also have love triangle but u will not feel bad for second lead.all the casts have played their role beautifully.tgis drama is really very near to my heart.music of the drama have given it LOVELY VIBES.
let me tell u honestly that i skipped the boring business parts of the drama and only saw the main scenes to understand what was really going on in it.
The business part was really too much (it was of 20 mins in every episode-really screwed me)
Loved the overall drama!!!!!!!!

Hidden Gem!!

So i'm about 3 years late to this drama BUT hopefully this review can be helpful to anyone who's looking for a feel good drama. It has its shortcomings but the main couple and the chemistry and support between them isn't it. It's definitely a lot better than what I was expecting. To be honest going off the synopsis I excepted to drop it pretty early, much less finish all 44 episodes!
Anyways the story consists of our FL Yang Zhen Zhen who loves music but she isn't the best at it, and in this cut-throat industry she doesn't make the cut. However she wants to get a job that relates to music and she ends up landing a job at Star ent. where our ML Zheng Boxu is a pop star. He's a very under appreciated singer and many people think he's only famous because of his rich dad. He wants to gain creative freedom with his songs however many people still doubt him. Anyways through a series of events our FL becomes the assistant of our ML and honestly I HATEEE the boss/assistant troupe but this show does it SO WELL!! mainly because our FL isn't a doormat (she speaks up to anyone the CEO the directors our ML his rich dad ) and she takes charge of our ML in such a comedic way and as the show progresses the both of our leads grow both personally and with their careers. The FL gets promoted as a manager and the ML gains the respect of the company. Also the FL accompanies the ML through all of his tough times (there's a lot). You really see the relationship grow from strangers to friends to lovers. It's very realistic and I especially LOVE how the "star" has to prove himself to the girl. Their is a love triangle but its done so in a non-annoying way, and the 2ML has his own storyline which was interesting.
The acting was really good. The styling got better as the show progressed. You really see the FLs style evolve as she's promoted to manager. The ML has some questionable outfits, but its fine. Also his makeup really grows on you. At first I was thinking how it was too much but its a grower I promise!! The acting is great on both sides. I feel like our ML really found his element in this drama since he's an idol (Ex-EXO member) in real life. So I bet he really enjoyed his role and he's really good with it. Janice Wu is an absolute delight I've seen her in LCDF and this role fits her so much better but that's for another day. Anyways she really embodies a confident funny girl and I loved seeing her evolution and it was acted out well. The chemistry between them is very natural and i loved how its a slow slow burn because it's most realistic.
The OSTs are all great. It doesn't hurt to have an actual idol sing and produce all the songs ;) "ILL BE UR BEGGAR AND FOOL" FUCK IT UPPP. I loved them all!
So why isn't this a 10/10 well it's very long. The main couple made it all worth it, but if the main couple weren't that strong I would've dropped this much sooner. The business parts were very boring after the first couple of episodes. And they fill most of the episodes with that when the actual main couple gets about 40% of screen time. (ITS WORTH IT THO YALL THEYRE HELLA CUTE) . Also our FLs bsf is annoying as hell! Even though the romance is more of a sub plot it is an interesting watch and it sheds more light on how unfair the entertainment industry really is.
So do I recommend it? YES if you want a strong FL and a supportive couple yall should definitely watch!

Great music but plot was too slow and mostly boring

I loved the music in this drama. I loved every single song that was played and I never really listened to Cpop before, only OST's of Cdrama's I've watched, but this drama got me into Cpop. It also got me into Z.Tao's music. I can now say that I am a fan of Z.Tao's music and I love his rapping, which is ironic because I don't like rap music (English), but I now like Chinese rap.

I loved the two main lead characters in this drama, especially Z.Tao's charecter. After watching some his videos, I feel like his character really suited him.
I also liked Janice's character. Sometimes her character was annoyingly nice, but I LOVED her loyalty.

I didn't particularly like the second lead characters: Zirui and Yuan. They were okay at first, and towards the end when the drama was finally starting to get good, I started to dislike their characters and even outright HATED them especially Yuan. There is a love triangle of sorts in this drama, but I never liked the second lead, he was a hypocrite who would throw away everything to get his career, which is the exact opposite of the main lead.

I loved the character development of Zheng. He really grows in this drama but I loved him even before his charecter development.

This drama had a really slow, slow burn romance. But it was so real. The characters slowly fall in love with each (after more than half the drama) without even realising. And you can really see how their treatment of each other changes. But their bickering never stops nor change in any way, which I loved. I loved how Zheng and ZhenZhen stuck with each other through thick and thin and you see how much they both sacrificed to be with each other even before they actually got together.

The romance was good. The music was great. The main characters were also great. I especially loved Zheng's story especially around episode 30 onwards, but other than that, I hated everything else about this drama. The first half of the drama didn't even focus much on the main characters. There is so much business talk that I skipped though more than half this drama. There isn't even any comedy or non-toxic, ship worthy couples to fill the plot. It was just plain and BORING business talk and side characters there's nothing to like about. Which is why my rating is low.

I was originally going to give this 5 stars only for the music and Zheng's character, not to mention the chemistry between the leads. But the last several episodes really had a plot improvement by focusing more on the leads and their career, especially Zheng's career. But I skipped more of this drama than I actually watched, if it wasn't for the music I'd say it wasn't worth watching at all.

First episode was good and funny .lead actress positive attitude is the best one ,she had no fear . Then drama got slow and boring till 30the episode then story came into tract . I thought that they should shown second lead couple love story too so I guess the story would got better . I don't like the drama much because there no new I found . The lead actress introduced herself as that she liked to sing ,she wrote songs too so I thought her song would be sung by him but nothing happened ,her dream story had lost somewhere in the drama and then he drew full accessory set for her then why he gave the ring only not full set .so many things were missed in the drama.
