This story is best described as sweet, silly, with a little wisdom and a lot of warmth thrown in. I enjoyed the actors (especially since the last Oguri Shun drama I watched was Juui Doolittle, and his role is basically the exact opposite in this one, which gave me a laugh) and found it a good watch for a bad day.

There are definite quirks in this show, however, that I am guessing a lot of people won't like. The characters are somewhat spastic, especially the villains and his goons and the main character (by so, so much). If you like really straight acting this will probably annoy you, but if you aren't bothered by their absurdity you will probably find it incredibly adorable. About the only other con I can think of is that the music is sort of non-memorable, which is kinda disappointing since I love good soundtracks, but its not the worst out there either. I would definitely recommend it.

Kisarazu Cat's Eye is an "ordinary" story about everyday life in an everyday town, complete with a bizarre set of characters, life, death, and crime. The humor in it is, in my opinion, a little deceptive, as it might make you believe you are watching a crack comedy. The show is filled with humor, for sure, but even more it is full of human feelings, emotions, and human experiences, especially as the main characters ponder how to live in light of the reality of impending death.

The only thing I found that really bugged me about this show is that there was a little more than a plethora of innuendo. I enjoyed the characters and the story, but the excess of sexual content did get old to me pretty quickly. That being said, the show has a large number of really great points and is generally enjoyable. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a light comedy with serious undertones. If nothing else, it is certainly a show which shines an extraordinary light on the incredible value that is the gift of a very ordinary life.

A completely straight '9' for me all around. Den-O is probably my favorite of all the Kamen Rider series I've seen, and will possibly always be, so I was excited to get a chance to watch this trilogy after having been parted with the original for a while. I was personally surprised at how, well... not Kamen Rider filmish they seemed. Most of the Kamen Rider films I find rather inferior in comparison to the shows because they seem to be a bit... hokey? Perhaps more like under-developed. Part of it is because they are trying to create a distinctive plot using a prior world, and they don't always translate cleanly into the films. However, these three were surprisingly enjoyable. I found the cinematography, especially in the first (Episode Red, which is also my favorite) to the best, and actually really beautifully done on an aesthetic level. They were all also very amusing, as well as interesting, and the tadest bit heartwarming.

The only thing I didn't particularly enjoy about the three films is that I thought they were interconnect a little bit--but they are really completely separate from each other. On one hand that's a nice quality for watching them... but on the other, it was called a "trilogy", but really it was just three films released in tandem in the same storyverse.

I would definitely recommend this series to people who enjoyed Den-O.

I admit that I was not originally planning to watch Bambino!, but somehow ended up watching the first episode. It was refreshing. It is not action packed, or tremendously silly, or really overpowering in any sense. It, in a way, is sort of like the food they are cooking in it--flavorful, varied, and yet both sophisticated and subtle in its own way.

It is very well put together. While the "plot" may not sound exciting to the average person skimming through it, I will say this: Bambino! is an amazing story about a young man coming into adulthood and learning to recognize what it means to be a whole person. Ban's growth sometimes seems painfully slow, but by the end of the series I couldn't help but be moved and encouraged by him. I loved his development, and they chose a stellar actor who could bring in all the subtlety that was needed for it. While it didn't "grab" me the way others do, I enjoyed every episode and can easily see myself watching it again as I continue to move between stages of my own life, and can again let Ban's story resonate with me.
