Cha Eun Sang is the poor daughter of a mute housemaid. One day, her sister writes from the US that she is getting married. Eun Sang takes the chance and goes there to bring her the money for her wedding. But when she meets her, the older sister takes the money and runs off, leaving back a crying Eun Sang without money and place to stay. That's when she meets Kim Tan, a rich heir, who studies in the US. Somehow he ends up falling in love with her and decides to go back to Korea, to stay with his family and maybe find her. Lucky is on his side, as her mother is actually the maid of his house and they moved in to them, because they have money problems. But a love story between the rich and the poor is never so easy, as there are many people interfering with their personal lifes...

The thing I first thought of when I read about the story was Boys Before Flowers. It basically is a similar story. But I won't judge it for that, since that would have been good. Instead, Eun Sang is a rather weak character, crying all the time and the bully is not the main guy but the second male lead. In general, this is a very basic rich-poor-lovestory. The family make problems, there are many business-related problems, lots of crying and breaking up because of love and so on. I was hoping for more, since this was written by Kim Eun Suk, who also made Secret Garden and A Gentleman's Dignity. But this time, the story is clearly made for a younger audience. Not only because it's a high-school drama, but also because the story just isn't as deep as her other works. But still, I didn't dislike the drama for that. My problem is different.

At some point, I ended up loving almost all the characters, except for Eun Sang. I asked Kim Tan over and over why he would still like her, after she did the same thing again and again and didn't even show her feelings properly. It was really hard to see her cry because of the same thing, over and over. I got annoyed by her behavior and wished that they had taken a strong character like the female lead in Boys Before Flowers was.

Well, but aside from that it had many good points and made me laugh. There were two or three episodes around episode 15 that dragged a bit, but I still enjoyed them, because of the great cast.

Maybe it is not a full 4* drama, because Eun Sang isn't all that great, but for the sake of the others I can rate it like that without feeling bad. If you want a basic romance story set in high-school, you will like this!

Cheon Song I is the best actress in the country. When she moves, her new neighbor, Do Min Jun, complains that she sings too loud at night, which she can't understand well, since the walls are said to be thick in her building. Little does she now that the guy next door is an alien, that lived on earth for 400 years already and is just waiting to go home in three months, when the asteroid, that brought him to earth, passes by again. But as destiny wants it, they get involved with each other through various events and the wonderful love story may begin...

The story is rather basic, but it has everything it needs to make my heart skip beats like crazy. Do Min Jun is the mysterious, silent kind of character that slowly starts to loose it when his love gets in danger. His feelings grow slowly, her feelings grow slowly and even though I can't pinpoint where they fell for each other, I didn't feel surprised by their deep love for each other.

Aside from the love line, there is a surprisingly high number of deaths in there, since there a side character, that spices things up by intriguing here and there to stay on top of the company.

Side characters like Hwi Gyeong and Yu Se Mi are actually also lovely. I enjoyed their story and that they weren't as dramatic when they couldn't get the guy they wanted to have. I especially liked that, for once, there wasn't somebody chasing after the male protagonist, being nasty to the female lead and everything.

One thing many might be curious about is the ending. Since it's an alien drama, I also was expecting either a very dull explanation or no explanation at all. If you are worried about it, here is my opinion: I liked the ending. It wasn't the usual dull answer, it wasn't too easy and I really liked the outcome. Maybe they didn't think it through perfectly, but if I compare it to other supernatural themed dramas like "My girlfriend is a Gumiho" or "Big", where they messed up the endings, if you ask me, I think they did really well! I was content.

5* for this lovely drama, since it's a romance drama just the way I like it. A bit of action, a bit of humor and lots of love mixed with an okay-amount of tears. Recommended romance drama for every romance lover!

While Kim Eun O is looking all around the country for his mother, he meets the ghost A Rang. While she fought for her ghostly life, he saw her hair pin and since it was the one he gave his mother, he saved the girl to get more information about his mothers whereabouts. At the same time, A Rang is actually looking for her memories, so she can find out who she is and who killed her. And since the gods Yeom La and Jade made it that way, those two have a closer destiny than they thought.

This ancient fantasy drama has many elements, that makes it enjoyable. For example showing the gods and how they live was aways a great way to amuse me. The production company really seems to use fog, since they used the fog machine whenever possible. I still liked the background and landscape they used. To me it looked like they tried really hard, to make the surroundings fit perfectly for the scene they are showing. They did well! Sadly I can't say that about the OST. This OST sometimes was epic and good, and other times I wondered how they thought that the song would fit the drama. It was a regular up and down of feeling the scene more intensely because of the music or getting all emotions destroyed because of it.

Now, for the important part: The story was not bad! I think it is exciting! If they could have made it into 16 episodes... The thing is, whenever there was some kind of questions to lead one step closer to their goal, I could answer it in seconds. But they needed 5 episodes to figure it out. Maybe it was made obvious, because it's not a detective drama. But then again, it gets boring quite easily, if you already know it and the characters don't act. Especially, when one of them is pressured with time.

What also kind of bugged me is the missing chemistry between the two lead characters. They were cute together, they ware both beautiful. But when they kissed or looked at each other, I felt like it wasn't that emotional. No matter what ending both of them have, I feel like I wouldn't be all too touched. I kept watching for the puzzle, not for the lovestory. Which is kind of sad, since they focused on love a lot.

So, I really liked to watch the drama, but the lack of emotion made me give it only 4*. And barely 4*. Watch it, if you like ancient dramas or the actors or need an easy quiz to solve.

After Takuto graduates university, he has to fight to find a job like many others. But not only that is giving him a hard time, also his home isn't what he would consider very warm, either. His younger brother is the precious son, since he prepares to study medicine and with that can take over the family hospital. And since he needs a lot of support, Takuto feels like he is invisible. Even after he finally finds work, his mother doesn't praise him. But he has good friends and by chance found a girlfriend while looking for work! Things turn for the worse, when he finds out he has a disease called ALS that will slowly take one thing after another from him and eventually take his life as well.

When I found this drama, I thought "One liter of tears, but with a male lead!". After watching the first episode, I was preparing myself, so that I won't cry later. But to be honest... It wasn't anything close to one liter of tears. I didn't cry as much, the message was a bit different and it wasn't as "nice" to watch, as I expected.

While I'm not quite sure what the drama was trying to tell us, I still thought it was nice to watch. There were many scenes that made me laugh, which is good. On the other hand, I wasn't all too fond of the drama starting from episode 6. The 5th episode was one of the best episodes, but after that it kept dragging.

So, actually my expectations were just really high which in the end resulted in utter disappointment. Trying to be fair, I still give it 3* because the acting wasn't bad and I liked to watch the story. Also, the humor was awesome.

Since he met Saeko in school for the first time, Souta loved her. To get noticed by her, he always stayed close, bears all her relationships and finally, he thinks it's his turn. After years of waiting, she finally spends Christmas with him and even kisses him! But when it comes to spend Valentine together, he finds out she is back with her ex-boyfriend and to heal his broken heart, he ends up going to Paris, to learn how to make the thing he knows Saeko loves the most: Chocolate. After he comes back, his plan seems to work out: She loves his chocolate and immediately meets him. The only bad news is: She wants him to make her wedding cake...

This drama has many things that are different from other lovestories. First of all, it's an adult story. It's about relationships of adults. Then, the female lead character is not your pure, soft-hearted girl who is loved by everybody and everything. In this case, she is someone who would get called bad names in real life and for the first time while watching a drama, I thought the female lead feels real. Not in a very positive way, but very realistic. Especially how her character and way of thinking gets revealed step by step is what I enjoyed. In this drama, the male lead is more of the pure-hearted guy who is loved by everybody. He really is, even though the makers didn't let him be a virgin until he finds love, instead made him a bit more real by getting experience here and there.

Actually, until episode 10 this drama felt like a masterpiece. I enjoyed watching it, the characters were fun, the job-parts weren't boring at all and even the development was made nicely. Some parts were ridiculous, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Especially the comedy parts were sweet. And then there comes the very generic ending and destroys most of the enjoyment you felt during the whole series.

So, for me, the new type of female lead was really appealing, I enjoyed the humor and the characters. I also like the adult vibe it gives off. The ending took away one star, so it's a 4* rating, but it still gets a recommendation, if you want something that's not for teenagers and can get away from the imagination, that a female lead always has to have a good character. And if you're looking for a lot of romance, passion and cute moments, then you better look for another drama.

Old Grandpa Suzuki is lonely and wants to be needed. But his family isn't very understanding of the old man, so he goes out to find a part time job. Sadly, he is too old to take on a normal job. Until he suddenly finds the flyer of people, who look for someone to play a robot in a costume for a tiny stage play. When he gets the role on a very short notice, he becomes involved in a tiny fraud, that three workers of a household goods company planned to not get fired. Grandpa Suzuki finally is the star of the newspapers as the sensational robot "New Shiokaze", who can do stuff no other robot could to so far and who even is capable of saving lifes!

The trailer of the movie is really funny and cute, and to be honest, it represents the movie very well! Grandpa Suzuki is a very heartwarming and nice character. At some point you would just feel bad for him.

The three workers are funny and very basic, but that's what makes the movie so enjoyable. It's not really about the people who build the robot, but about the guy in the robot costume.

There is also a robot-fan who keeps getting involved with the trio and the robot, which made the movie a bit exciting. The trio always has to take care to not get found out and is always stressed. And while they do everything to keep the robot away from people, grandpa Suzuki is doing the exact opposite. It's so much fun to watch, how he just wants to feel needed and enjoys the attention and so on! To be honest, the best part was the ending. It made the movie even better and I could give the movie 5 stars without thinking a second time. I just enjoyed every minute of this comedy.

I suggest you to watch it, if you want a lighthearted comedy, that also shows a bit of the hardship that an old grandpa has to go through in Japan.

Aki, Moeko and Midori are friends for a long time already. They keep each other updated on girls nights. While Midori is a single-mother with three sons, Moeko can't find a boyfriend because her mother keeps bothering her. And Aki is together with a younger, aspiring singer, who she does everything for. At work she is known as a career woman who might have missed her chance to get married, but she just ignores them. That is, until her boyfriend cheats on her and she finds out he used her money and kindness to focus on his music (and girls). Aki saves herself by giving it her all at work, where she has to create a romance app for women her age. And to make a good script, she is to contact Takayama, a famous screenwriter that disappeared after a few hits and now tries to write a book. We follow these three women, on their way to find what is important to them and to see how their privat life as well as career work out.

This series was fun. Mostly because Shinohra Ryouko is a lot of fun to watch. I also love Kichise Michiko. I did not like any of the male leads, except for Chiba Yuudai, but he had too little screen-time. But aside from actresses I liked, I liked the story as well! Their problems were real and I enjoyed seeing them solve some of them and struggle with others. Their decisions were good, I liked the script and the acting for a big part and I enjoyed how things got wrapped up. The only issue I have, where I deducted a star, was that I somehow felt bored with some scenes. I wanted to skip through some parts. And also: how could he get together with someone who has a cat, if he is so allergic that he has to sneeze when she just is standing near him!? That was super unrealistic and even if it was to draw laughs, they kept it running too long to make the audience forget that it was an issue.

Aside from that, I think this is a mature romance drama that everybody who is grown up can enjoy. I wouldn't say every grown-up will likes this drama, but if you think seeing three ladies looking for romance and happiness sounds good, then watch it. I think they delivered a nice moral and it's more than worth to give it a try!

Samejima Reiji is a highly competitive president of a hotel chain. When his hotel doesn't place number one on national rankings again, he is devastated. And then the president of the nations number one hotel chain mocks him and talks about relationships and marriage! Reiji decides it's time for some romance in his life. And suddenly there appears Misaki, an innocent and honest girl who loves to serve customers and starts working at his hotel. Meeting her also starts off his mission to get a girlfriend. Just that he has major problems being romantic and understanding the needs of women - or human beings in general.

A romance drama with Ohno was something I didn't expect yet. I love his acting in so many dramas already, I was really excited to see this. Turns out his character is a mix of a bratty Kaibutsu-kun and a cold Enomoto Kei. I know Ohno can do the heart-warming faces and falling-in-love-smile from Maou. But I guess they wanted to make this a romance COMEDY so badly, they didn't need that kind of acting from Ohno. I enjoyed watching the whole work-related things. I also liked the beginning of the relationship. And I liked that they let Reiji's character stay true to himself all the way and didn't change him to be a good partner somewhere in the middle, but that he always was a bratty cold CEO from beginning to the end. But I didn't like how stupid he sometimes seemed. Of course he might have no experience with love and thus be a bit nervous. But sometimes it was over the top and annoying. Especially with the "main crisis" I had a lot of problems. I thought about not watching on, I didn't like how Misaki's character turned out to be (even though I had the feeling her character was really flat?) but there were some nice characters like the driver or the secretary. Or the owner of the number one hotel chain. They made me watch a bit longer and in the end even finish the drama.

It was a nice drama and in the end I enjoyed most parts of it. But I felt like there was so much chemistry lacking and the acting of the male lead was a let down. They could have made it less comedy and more romance or at least a tiny bit more serious. It sank from an overall 5* to a 3* drama for me, because I didn't enjoy the second part of the series much.

Once upon a time Mia, our main character in this series, falls in love with Tiffany's and decides it's her biggest dream to work there. And now she finally is there, working in the PR department and having all her dreams come true. If only there was someone who she could love, not like her current boyfriend, who she decided to break up with but just didn't bring herself to do it yet. But luck means well, she meets her dream guy. He walks in as the new vice-chairman and shall get trained in the PR department. She is to supervise him. And of course she falls in love. Too bad, he is already married...or is it?

What sounded like a dark, adult drama with lots of drama and dirty games was actually a decent romance story. I thought they did well, creating the initial mood. But then they did so wrong on many other things. For starters, I dislike completely how they deal with adultery. A married guy, having an affair! No matter what they made in this drama, no matter how well they tried to explain it, I was so angry at all the characters at some point, that I felt like this wasn't a good drama anymore. It was too light for some things they inserted and at other points too heavy for what they wanted to make with the story. The acting itself is something I don't even want to comment about. The hobby our male lead has to let off steam at home made me cringe.

Aside from that, I still enjoyed watching it, with all the bad plot and twists. Watching the work was rather fun, which somehow saved the drama. So I still give it Overall 2*. But I wouldn't tell you to watch it, especially if you don't like affairs or over-dramatic series. Or if you don't like the actors. If you do like all/some of the above mentioned, I am sure you will enjoy this series and can just go and watch it!

When Naos parents go to take over the farm of her grandparents, she decides to stay back in Tokyo to graduate from school and thus has to live by herself. What starts exciting and good ends with her and one of the three hottest guys in school - Uehara Hisashi - being swindled by someone who rented the apartment to both of them. Since they both have troubles to face if they can't stay in the apartment, they arrange to live there together until one of them gets the chance or money to move out. As long as the school and their friends don't find out, everything should be fine. At least they think it's that simple.

This story is based on a manga that started in 1997 and watching the drama really made me feel thrown back into the 90s. I loved the style and the story, the characters are good and cute. There is something innocent but lovable about most of them. It has many similarities to Itazura no kiss, but only in some subtile things. The way he talks to her sometimes, how she has to walk behind him. How she is somehow stupid but kind-hearted and can only see him. That they live together. All those things make me think of Itazura na kiss, but the good way. I never got bored of the story, so it didn't have many similarities to Itazura.

Also, was it only me or did the actress of Nao-chan remind me an awful lot of Yankumi from Gokusen? She looks like her and also her behavior at some points was so much Yankumi, that I wondered if that could be her daughter. And later in the story, Uehara-kun reminded me a lot of a young Ogrui Shun...

Anyway, the story itself did not have many weaknesses to me. There was a major plothole in the end, I think they got overwhelmed by the problems they had to resolve in the last episode. But then again, they resolved everything nicely (one thing TOO nice, if you ask me) and I was satisfied with the ending. I even wanted to know more, just like in Itazura na kiss, where they show us how they go to university etc. I wanted to see more of that. I heard the is a sequel manga, so need to check that one out.

For those who dig some good old-school-romance, this is what you're looking for. Missing Itazura na kiss? Go and watch this. They main characters might lack a bit of chemistry, but it overall is a very enjoyable show and very romantic. Overall 4* from me!

Minami and Chiyomi are neighbors and grew up together. At some point they promised to marry each other. Now in high school, Minami is rather cold towards Chiyomi and during a rainy night, after a fight with her parents, Chiyomi ends up wishing to the gods that she turns small again. The gods grant her wish and make her small. Shrink her to the size of a doll. And Minami is the one who finds her. Together they are looking for a way to turn her big again and how to conceal her situation from teachers and parents.

It seems like they just want to re-make this show every 10 years. I watched the version of 2004 and to be honest, it wasn't a good story. But as I already paid for Netflix and the show was there, I decided to give it a try. And I was so pleasantly surprised! All my problems with the older version were made a lot better in this version! I liked the acting, the story and - this one is the most important - the ending! I just liked how they had chemistry, even though I am sure they didn't film together for 90% of the time. Okay, the parts with the blue screen could have been made better, but I still was fine while watching it and not getting annoyed by some off-movements from Minami. I also thought the characters were better developed and had more depth than in the 2004 version.

But not comparing this to any other version, I still felt like something was lacking. It was a cute and magical story, the romance was there and cute. But then, there were some parts that seem boring. Some forced drama. It could have been made better.

Still, I enjoyed it as what it is - a nice, soft romance with a good cast and a bit of magic. So magical overall 4* from me and a recommendation if you didn't like the 2004 version and want to see how it should have gone!

Tae Gong Shil was the "Tae Yang" aka. big sun in her class. She was pretty, smart and had many friends until one day she had a terrible accident. She was in a coma and after she woke up, she could see ghosts. Being scared of them, she wasn't able to sleep and stayed at home all day to prevent running into ghosts that wouldn't leave her alone until she helped them. But this fact changes one day, when she meets Ju Jung Won. Whenever he touches her, the ghosts disappear. To use him as a shelter, she actually starts working at the shopping mall he owns and slowly he gets dragged into her world.

At first I was really scared of this drama. The ghosts look awful at first and I really understand why Gong Sil would be scared. But in the end, I got used to them and started to like the stories of the ghosts. They definitely are one of the good parts in this drama, since they never disappear. It's always about ghosts, not just some excuse or decoration around a main romance story.

Also, all the side characters are lovable. At first you might think you will end up disliking some of them, but it's really nice to see them come and go and add a bit to the story. They are all lovable characters.

What was lacking again is the ending. This drama was made by the Hong sisters, who also made My girlfriend is a Gumhio, You're Beautiful, Big, etc. and most of the time, I have a big problem with their endings. This time I didn't actually have a problem with it, it's just that it was lacking compared to the rest of the show. It might or might not be because of the one episode they had to add. They actually managed well to add one episode, the story still was interesting and cute. But I felt like it dragged and should've ended at some earlier point. Especially since the excitement level at the end was just too low for my taste. Where normally one episode wraps everything up, it felt like there were three wrap up episodes.

But on the good side, I was really happy while watching this drama. I would even say it's as nice as Greatest Love, since they didn't mess up the story (like in Gumiho or Big...).

My biggest reason for loving this drama is the acting. They are all just so great and lovely. My favorite part is when Ju Jung Won starts to talk to things he can't see. It just made his character 1000% more adorable and made him look so much in love with Gong Sil.

All in all, I don't regret watching it and even though it might not be as much a 10* drama as other dramas I've rated it still among them, it was still too good to rate it worse, especially after going back and comparing it with other Hong Sister dramas. Last but not least: please don't be scared of the ghosts in this drama! You will get used to them and they are all nice.

6 Episodes, 6 Stories, 6 Opinions

I feel like the stories get gradually better.

Story 1 was a mix of pretty much all the things I dislike (kind of a breakup, kind of an affair, also a suggested second chance). It was an okay story, it wasn't may favorite. I decided to watch on.

Story 2 was a big WTF moment. I like the cast, but the whole thing was a single desaster. Any expectations I had that would make the synopsis of "I love my pet, my pet loves me!" cute were ignored or thrown out the window and what was left was a story I decided to forget. Fast.

Story 3 was cute, I especially love MaxNat, so I thought it was adorable, even if nothing special. Their chemistry is good and it was nice to see the focus not only on love but their athletic ambitions (?) as well.

Story 4 was where it got really interesting. After a confusing first few minutes it was just plain adorable. I wished they could have made this into a full series, where we get to know more about the characters and what happens after this tiny piece of their story.

Story 5 was ADORABLE and it probably worked best for the actors, too. They mostly shot alone, while writing letters or talking on the phone. Only at the end they had that brief meeting and I really enjoyed the whole thing. It was cute and romantic and made me feel happy.

Story 6 is my favorite, because as a fangirl I can only dream of sitations like these. haha They were so cute, the story had so much potential for more and here I also wished they'd given me more episodes with the couple. I also would have loved to see how P'Jedi knew about his fanboy... And what would happen next.

So if not for the first three stories, I'd recommend watching it for the last three. :)

Shigeyuki gets bullied in school and even though he has to decide on his high school soon, his grades are very bad and he isn't even trying to be as good as his older brother, Shinichi. In all that mess, his family only cares about telling Shigeyuki to get better grades, so they hire a home teacher for him. When the teacher comes, he doesn't end up teaching only school stuff. He turns Shigeyuki into a human being, a responsible part of society and tries to open the eyes of the rest of the family as well while doing that.

I don't know the drama yet, but I had to watch this movie for a class. Actually, half of the movie I didn't know what was going on and waited for some kind of explanation or a sign to see where this movie would lead me. In the end, I think I kind of understood the basic meaning of the movie and the symbolism. But I didn't completely understand what it wanted to tell me, and even though I could laugh at a lot of the scenes, I can't really say that I would recommend this movie to every other person I meet. There was too little time give to understand all the characters involved. I also feel like the cuts were too random, so that it was hard to understand the scenes and changing of time/place.

All in all, I am curious about the drama now. I'd also recommend this movie for some laughs and a parody on Japanese society, but not genuinely if you just want to enjoy watching something. I didn't enjoy it all the time, so only 3* from me!
