Honorable Mentions

For one reason or another, these titles don't qualify for my favorites. Despite this, there is something special about each of these titles that make it so I would recommend others to watch them.

  • The Silenced

    1. The Silenced

    Korean Movie - 2015

If you are in the mood for an offbeat film, I would recommend this one. I generally don't mind slow pacing, but for some that's something to consider.

  • Old Boy

    2. Old Boy

    Korean Movie - 2003

Renowned for a reason and contains what I believe to be one of the best action scenes of all time.  While I appreciate this film's artistry, its subject matter makes it so I would rather not call this one of my favorite films LOL.

  • Meu Chefe, Meu Herói

    3. Meu Chefe, Meu Herói

    Japanese Drama - 2006, 10 episodes

    8.5

    Funny as hell.

  • Invasão Zumbi

    4. Invasão Zumbi

    Korean Movie - 2016

This movie built off the typical zombie plot and made it something more. The setting made this movie exciting and all of the characters (even the smaller ones) had some depth to them thus making you want to root for them (even if that sentiment is in vain- I wouldn't consider this comment a spoiler BTW. I mean, it's a zombie film; what do you expect?).

  • Seonam Girls High School Investigators

    5. Seonam Girls High School Investigators

    Korean Drama - 2014, 14 episodes

    7.0

Constrained by its short run time and lack of popularity. Also, a bit corny at times. However, (especially in later episodes) it introduces topics worthwhile. I really got attached to these characters and am a sucker for a plot that revolves around a girl gang. I would especially recommend this show to young people because not only is it amusing, but also a good conversation starter.

  • Galileo

    6. Galileo

    Japanese Drama - 2007, 10 episodes

    9.0

A solid, episodic show that was enjoyable from start to finish.

  • Enfeitiçado

    7. Enfeitiçado

    Korean Movie - 2011

    9.0

This had some serious laugh out loud moments. Overall, a pretty refreshing movie. Perhaps it isn't a top tier film that will go down in cinematic history, but I would say it's a good movie for when you don't know what to watch.

  • Shut Up: A Banda de Garotos Bonitos

    8. Shut Up: A Banda de Garotos Bonitos

    Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes

    8.0

Definitely the lowest priority watch on this list. But, I liked the (cute) guys' characters. Also, there were some notably good, emotional scenes/acting in this.
