  • Kamen Rider 555

    1. Kamen Rider 555

    Japanese Drama - 2003, 50 episodes

    9.0

It may be the most dramatic entry in the franchise but even so i adored every single episode of it.

Takumi has one of the best developments i've seen in fiction and most of his relationships with the cast are very enjoyable. The process of how he changes from the person he is at the beginning to the one he is at the end is so subtle you wont even realize it until its done. His growth as a person is actually very optimistic and encouraging despite the grim tone of the show.

However, even if Takumi is the star of the show, without Kusaka the story wouldn't have been half good it was. He is a despicable person who is the angular key to many of the misfortunes and conflicts our characters go through. You WILL hate him, that's his role in the story and executes his purpose almost flawlessly.

This aspects plus the interesting dynamics featured by flawed characters, epic moments and great fight scenes elevate this show into a rollercoaster you don't want to get down.

  • Kamen Rider Gaim

    2. Kamen Rider Gaim

    Japanese Drama - 2013, 47 episodes

    8.0

I thought i was going to hate this show due to some people saying it was edgy and pretentious  but it was a joyful surprise. Instead of being a needlessly dark story , this is a frenetic  rhythm, action packaged with epic soundtrack show.

The core and heart of Gaim is not about having a very complex or likeable cast of characters, but watching them how they involve in the story and how they single-handedly change the Status Quo constantly.

Dont watch it if you want to watch good written characters, but if you want to marathon a silly balls to the walls adventure while eating popcorn.

  • Kamen Rider OOO

    3. Kamen Rider OOO

    Japanese Drama - 2010, 48 episodes

    7.5

If you ask me, this is THE perfect series to start with Kamen Rider. (i want to rewatch this so i wont elaborate any further)

  • Kamen Rider Kuuga

    4. Kamen Rider Kuuga

    Japanese Drama - 2000, 49 episodes

    7.5

Its a simple and episodic series and despite that, it manages to radiate charisma like none other.

Kuuga's battles are THE BEST battles in the entire franchise. Every monster posses a real threat  and they actually DO cause a lot of damage and death. This monsters are so f*cked up that the hero has to get a lot of help from the secondaries to beat them and when it finally happens its very very satisfying.

And how to forget about the GLORIOUS FINAL BATTLE that to this day it still makes us fans cry.

If you are curious about old Rider series then look no further, this is a Show that absolutely worth it

  • Kamen Rider Agito

    5. Kamen Rider Agito

    Japanese Drama - 2001, 51 episodes

    7.5

When it comes to characterization and story its a major improvement on Kuuga.

Agito's characters are always involved in the sequence of events that drive the plot, instead of a reactive group that only acts when the antagonistic group attacks.

The moments of internal conflicts in the police group, the fights between the riders and much more makes this show much more digestible and interesting than kuuga, but it doesnt have the weight and epicenes of the later, so i consider Godai's show superior(not by far tho).

Final episodes were kinda bad, but even with its flaws its one of the best shows in the franchise.

  • Kamen Rider Build

    6. Kamen Rider Build

    Japanese Drama - 2017, 49 episodes

    7.0

Okay i can write an entire walltext trying to explain my feelings for this show, because this is perhaps the Kamen Rider more worthy of discussion due to the content, the production values and the very different approach this entry has inside the franchise.

This is the favorite series of many people for a reason, has the best effects, the best music, some of the best fights and a very ambitious story and complex characters.

However where this series falls flat is in the second half, where the plot goes in circles and the finale was kinda pointless for me, not a fan of... that trope.

Maybe you will enjoy it much more than i, but if its your first keep in mind that this is a very different series among kamen rider.

  • Kamen Rider Fourze

    7. Kamen Rider Fourze

    Japanese Drama - 2011, 48 episodes

  • Kamen Rider Drive

    8. Kamen Rider Drive

    Japanese Drama - 2014, 48 episodes

    7.0

Just like OOO this series is solid good and great for starters but nothing really great. All the main characters have a noticeable  development and great chemistry between them and the episodes where they resolve a personal struggle are simply put some of the best moments of the franchise.

  • Kamen Rider W

    9. Kamen Rider W

    Japanese Drama - 2009, 49 episodes

    6.0

This is the first Kamen Rider i watched so it holds a very special place within my heart.

The protagonists are the best this show has to offer and Shoutaro is the most charismatic MC this franchise has at least for me. The duo has an outstanding chemistry and you will be fondle of them since the very beggining. Aki is cringe.

Everything else is... okay i guess, has some great  episodes, most are okay and some are jut plain baaaaaad.

The final villain is the worst villain of the franchise, it appears outa nowhere, doesnt have a personality and his motivations are meh.

  • Kamen Rider Kabuto

    10. Kamen Rider Kabuto

    Japanese Drama - 2006, 49 episodes

    6.0
  • Kamen Rider Blade

    11. Kamen Rider Blade

    Japanese Drama - 2004, 49 episodes

    6.0

Kamen Rider Blade is weird... no, its hella weird. during the first 29 chapters it has a very noticeable  identity crisis, it just doesnt know what it wants to be or where it wants to go, the characters and main conflict is not presented well and alienates the audience making it hard to care about what happen to our heroes.

Later it does have a clear direction but the fact that you have to endure the first half make this series not adequate for begginers. If you are already into this then by all means watch it.

Also the most memeable of the bunch.

  • Kamen Rider Ex-Aid

    12. Kamen Rider Ex-Aid

    Japanese Drama - 2016, 45 episodes

    5.0

For every great moment there is the writers manage to fuck it up with some stupid shit.

Too many deus ex and dibolus ex machinas, also meh characters.

The only saving grace are the fights.

    Not worthy.
