ML and his best friend

ML and FL are both aromantic asexual and consciously form a chosen family with each other.

The two MLs are each other's chosen family. They also acquire a chosen son/little brother throughout the series.

ML loves and protects three people like grandmother, brother, and sister, but none of them are related.

ML informally adopts the science team as his family over the course of the series.

SFL is like a part of the FL's family (considered so by the FL and all her family members).

ML treats the SFL and her son as his own family (but the relationship between the two adults is unhealthy, as the SFL uses their bond to control the ML). The series ends with the ML still committed to being the father figure to the SFL's son.

FL and best friend

FL has grandmother, cousin, and sister figures.

The FL and the two SFLs all take each other as sisters.

FL and her late mother's friend consider themselves family

A SFL, Qiao An Na, considers the FL her family.  She also forms an unconventional family with two SMLs (spoiler: the two men are in a relationship, and she's carrying one of the men's child. They all plan on raising the child together).

The two main male leads live as brothers after being united in a traumatic circumstance.

FL and SFL consider themselves family.

FL treats three men not related to her as her father and brothers, and they in turn treat her as their family as well.

SML has a grandma figure
