In contrast to the powerful, rich or simply more advantaged male lead, this list is dedicated to shows in which the male leads are from more humble and ordinary backgrounds and/or on equal or even lower grounds of power/socioeconomic status than the female lead (with whom there is romantic interaction with).

P.S. - Most HKdramas would likely qualify for this, hence only more notable/better portrayals have been included.
