Why you should watch: an office drama with almost no romance? Sounds boring but is anything but. In fact, it might even be the best comedy drama this year. Terius Behind Me: He may be the most elite of secret agents but none of his training has prepared him for babysitting two mischievous youngsters that know how to push all of his buttons. Excellent production value helps save this drama from campy-ness and turns it into a slick-looking, heartwarming story of people bonding together to become a team of avengers worth rooting for, whether they are solving international crimes or just making sure the kids have fun at the kids cafe.  - u/myweithisway

It's The Pacifier: kdrama edition. Fun and slightly silly spy comedy with the wholesome backdrop of a family that just needs some help. Throw in some excellent and intrepid neighbors, plus the most ridiculously campy cliffhangers and you have yourself a winner. The kids are pretty cute too when they aren't being terrors. Just don't expect mojitos at Namsan Tower next time you swing by. Those are a lie. Just fix your life and fucking watch it, okay?  - u/MerinoMedia

It's a really well put together story about a group of (mostly) women who gather together for the sake of "revenge" on the evil bastards in their lives (largely, though not entirely, their husbands)...  early on they decide to stay away from violence, and start out with pranks-- eventually they move on to legal attacks-- so the tone of the series has a nice balance of the humorous and the dramatic without ever going off into the deep-end.  It's not entirely without "romance", but they stay away from the standard "two people hung-up because they won't talk to each other" plot.

A nice range of characters all acted really well, and a story that doesn't lose it's way mid-way through.  Some of the cinematography is pretty impressive-- they open the story with some stuff that seems like James Bond action. - u/doomvox

Avenger's Social Club - Honestly reading the synopsis for it, I was like "ok... this sounds kind of ridiculous"... and while watching it...it really was ridiculous, but in the best possible sense. It was such a wholesome drama that highlighted serious issues while making me laugh at the same time. None of that cliche romantic stuff which at the time was a fresh breather for me. The Producers: This drama starts as a satirical variety/documentary show focusing on the behind the scenes manipulations that happen in the variety department of KBS, and ends as a sweet romantic comedy where two childhood friends finally get together. Though most of the humor and jokes are in the earlier episodes, the show never loses its warmth. Highlights of the show include numerous cameos and easter eggs for those familiar with KBS variety shows, but the best part may be the contrast between a deadpan Kim Soo Hyun and a cranky IU, giving us both moments of hilarity and moments of heartwarming sweetness.  - u/myweithisway

History of A Salaryman - It’s one of the funniest kdramas I’ve ever watched and about an everyday salaryman rising up to be a sort of corporate/business hero. Jung Ryeo Won is amazing (and her character’s kind of batshit) here too, I fell in love with her watching this drama. - u/Shower_caps

History of a Salaryman - It's very unique and uses a lot of dark humor. Romance isn't really a big part of the show since mystery and humor are the focus. Written by the same husband-wife writing team as "History of a Salaryman," it's just as funny and five times as thrilling, way more than any murder mystery/revenge drama has any right to be. Kang Ji Hwan shines at both comedy and tragedy, and Hwang Jung Eum is his perfect sassy foil. Action with comedy and some discussion of what it is to be priest. It is always made clear that the main character is not like other priests. Fast paced, strong people, interesting characters, corruption. If you enjoy watching fights and laughing in between, Fiery Priest is your thing. Fiery Priest surprised me a bit even though I knew Kim Nam-Gil was the lead. After watching "The Guest" which I really liked I thought another "priest" drama would get cumbersome or tiring but it is totally different and really enjoyable. Pegasus Market - I can't contain my love for this drama! Get on this for a delightful cracktastic ride!! I was in stitches within 12min, and smiling throughout. The offbeat zany comedy subverts all expectations and keeps you engaged with the mix of metahumour, parody, trope-reversals, musical numbers, all the while reserving some human feels that will hit you like a bus! Modern Farmer: What happens when a "super popular" boy band is banished to a rural town? Absolute insanity. Heavy on toilet humor and slapstick comedy, this show may not be palatable for everyone, but if the humor clicks with your taste, there's a good chance you'll howl with laughter. Aside from the in your face style of humor, there's also a lovely storyline about single motherhood and the idea that it takes a village to raise a kid. Modern Farmer is ridiculous. Everyone is Looney Tunes! So much shouting (but in a way you'd do with friends). The townspeople get into the wackiest situations. The camera work and the writing make it a bit slapstick, but I think it's done appropriately. This is great for tuning in and dropping out. There are so many laughs in this,  They make up for the Prison life.  It’s about a famous baseball player, stuck in prison for a year for defending sister.  All the acting is superb, as well as the casting and music.  - u/elynwen

Prison Playbook is a bromantic comedy with minimal romance which is about a national baseball player's time in prison. The synopsis probably doesn't sound very fun, but it really is funny.

Diary of a Psychopath - Yoon Shi Yoon plays a pushover who gets amnesia and wakes up mistakenly thinking that he is a psychopath. Hilarity ensues. - u/fog_city

Psychopath Diary - The ending cracked me up, it was really good and extremely satisfying. The drama picks up really fast in the first few episodes, slows down a bit mid-way and picks up in the end. Overall it was worth my time.  Highly recommend it.  - u/that-plot-twist-tho

Psychopath Diary - It's a thriller-comedy with lots of black humor. I recently finished it and I have NEVER laughed so much while watching.

If you're interested: It's about a typical pushover guy who happens to pick up the diary of a serial killer. Shortly after he gets into an accident and loses his memory. He mistakes it as his diary thinking he is a psychopath... He then gains confidence, thinking he is a "predator" and since that moment he begins to change.

It might sound quite dark, but it isn't at all, the mixture of thriller and comedy works unexpectedly well! - u/iDemonizer

I Picked Up a Star on the Road: A down on her luck young woman accidentally knocks out a star and believes him to be dead, so she drags him home to take care of the corpse only to find that he's not dead yet. Thus begins her adventure of keeping a star in her home. This drama doesn't take itself seriously and neither should you. The premise is an absolutely absurd situation that you can't help but laugh at it. What keeps it endearing is how earnestly the entire cast tries to make the drama's world and situation believable. At a short 10 episodes, it's a great comedic filler drama when you just want something silly to giggle at.  - u/myweithisway

My Fellow Citizens is about a couple that gets married in the start! The plot is essentially that a con man and a police officer meet, fall in love and get married but they're both keeping their jobs a secret from each other. So this drama is less on the romance side (you get the most in the first couple of eps) but it's quite funny and can get a bit crazy but it's enjoyable and unique :)  - u/ang-ela

I thought it balanced a serious political story with humor really well while also being satirical and full of social commentary. I loved almost everything about it, even though it has its apparent flaws, it just has so many positives to outweigh them. "Squad 38" is a story of seeking retribution and a seemingly cold hearted revenge, led by a young conman together with one public official and a group of thieves. The group sets out to destroy the ones behind his father's imprisonment and we can see his intricate plans unfold in front of us. However, you end up rooting for the young man and his friends - a bunch of really likeable and warm hearted people. The drama is fast paced and revolves around financial issues, property ownership and such with a very generous sprinkle of light hearted humor and jokes. - u/imerremi

My Love from the Star - Just one person - Jun Ji-Hyun - and you know that the drama will definitely be fun. Cheon Song-Yi is one of my all time favourite characters and she's just amazing. This clingy, foolish but awesome woman will win your heart with her funny antics and her out of this world English. Her character blended well with Do Min-Joon and eventually you'll find yourself drawn towards her. Everytime I feel low I watch her scenes and they always make me laugh. - u/Fatooz

The Legend of the Blue Sea - Again, we have - Jun Ji-Hyun - the comedy queen. With her amazing antics and her expressions she steals the show and will definitely make you ROFL. This is also one of Lee Min-Ho's best works in my opinion because of how his reactions to Jun Ji-Hyun's antics and his own comedic elements add so much to the drama and their chemistry. With the powerhouse of talent - Jun Ji-Hyun - Lee Min-Ho does a good job of matching with her and the subtle bromance will just add more to your fun watching experience of the drama. - u/Fatooz

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon: When a rich, young entrepreneur is endangered, he decides to hire a personal guard. His guard of choice is a petite girl with supernatural strength and thus hijinks ensue. This is the most consistently funny drama of 2017 for me. The leads were funny, the supporting characters were hilarious! There was physical humor and jokes galore. Goblin: While Goblin's promotional material often focused on its love story, for many viewers it is far more memorable for its hilarious hijinks between the Goblin and the Grim Reaper. Plus, there is also the adorable nephew, who is desperate to get his credit card back, adding to the chaos. In short, there is no shortage of laughs in this drama even with its sad love stories. Both male leads Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook tend to choose more serious works so this is a rare chance to see their comedic chops, which are excellent. If you are a fan of either actor, this drama may be worth watching just to see their iconic characters in action.  - u/myweithisway

Pretty funny premise, Habaek the Water God has to come to the human world to claim his throne as emperor and he has to meet his destined servant to help him on his mission. But his godpowers don't work here and he comes across as a delusional lunatic to everyone he tries to explain himself to, including his servant, who happens to be a psychiatrist.

The Best Hit Yoo Hyun-jea (Yoon Shi-yoon) is a huge idol in 1993 when he is suddenly transported to the present day through an accident. Scenes of Hyun-jea's future shock and hiding from people who might recognise him are absolutely hilarious. Unfortunately the drama loses its way slightly half way through, unable to balance the comedy, mystery and romance and its understanding of time travel is shaky at best. I found it laugh out loud funny in the beginning and enjoyable all the way through with a cast of lovable characters, but the ending has been quite divisive. I'd recommend giving it a go and dropping it if you don't like the direction it's taking, because it really is the direction the drama is going with.   - u/GSV_Zero_Gravitas

The Master's Sun: A girl who can see ghosts discovers that being handsy with a rich heir will drive away the ghosts. So in an act of self-preservation, she hangs around the guy until the guy can't live without her anymore. A hilarious drama that really showcases the comedic chops of both leads.  - u/myweithisway

The Lover is slapstick, amusing, and upfront. Things might be a degree too silly. It's cool to see couples being couples and all the possible drama involved. Arguing, being immature, competing with other couples. Getting caught in uncompromising positions. This is good for after a heavier drama. - u/life-finds-a-way

The Lovers follows people who live in 4 apartments in the same building and focuses on their everyday lives and different household dynamics. I wouldn't call it hilarious because it never goes overboard, but is probably the closest you'll find to a light comedy drama without the usual rom-com tropes.  - u/AlohaAlex

Was fun to see SSR in a different kind of role and the two actresses who played the FL did a tremendous job. It was entertaining and it told a story that broke many stereotypes. It handled social issues like sexual harrassment, domestic abuse, suicide, depression and many more in a unique and fun way. It didn't loose it's laughter from start to finish while still maintaining on point storywise. The writer managed to include so many books in the narrative. The main characters were fledged out. It was a story about loving yourself before anything else, to be confident no matter how you look like and no matter what history/baggage you might had. Reply 1994 has its serious and emotional moments. But the playful nature of the cast reminded me of my college friends and I was amused. They also said and did funny things. The dad is a trip. Be Melodramatic - This drama was so refreshing.  It was light, cute, had realistic characters, broke the 4th wall so many times I'm surprised it still exists.  I particularly loved how you thought that some of the opponents were going to turn into awful, single minded characters bent on destroying the female lead, but no, they were just written like real people doing real things.  I didn't hate a single character, I strongly disliked Gong Myung's girlfriend, but everyone knows someone like her.  She wasn't a caricature at all, just a mess.  Anyway, highly recommended.  - u/pvtshame

Ex-Girlfriend Club is possibly the only KDrama that had me looking forward to it to cheer me up.  If I needed a laugh, Ex-Girlfriend Club delivered every episode.  The face expressions, the goofy catchy opening song, the sharp and smart director, ex-girlfriends written as regular people, awkward situations played out so well, and the lack of eye-rolling moments all compounded into one show was just gold.  I usually just chuckle and a laugh here and there but this one had me outright laughing all the time which was great.  - u/Treaya

Ex-Girlfriend Club - He's a webtoon writer and his latest one, which centers on his past dating experiences, is a huge hit. So huge, in fact, that it gets adapted to a movie. The producer happens to be his first ex girlfriend and after a night of heavy drinking on both sides, they decide to ask the other three ex girlfriends if they're okay with filming the movie. What could possibly go bad when four ex girlfriends with wildly different personalities meet for the first time?

Why you should watch: it's pure unfiltered fun once the ball starts rolling. Lingering feelings, friendly female rivalry, one very confused webtoon writer and the chaos that ensues. - u/AlohaAlex

During the last year it was one of the funniest drama I've watched! The couple has a good chemistry and it's full of funny moments between them. Kill Me/Heal me - If you choose your dramas by the name, you can lean back and enjoy the ride cause this one is as crazy as the title implies. A handsome chaebol, a butler and a young female doctor decide on living together with a very specific purpose in mind, namely keeping the said chaebols public image intact. The task is arduous as he swiftly alternates between different personalities, causing trouble with every switch. On the top of that, one of his alters falls in love with the female doctor and the other one with her brother.

The drama takes on a very heavy subject of DID (dissociative personality disorder) and infuses it with laughter and hope. However hard it may be, you can always get better if you let yourself heal from the wounds of the past. Especially the ones no one has apologised for.

Kill Me/Heal me is a must watch for any fan of Ji Sung as he really gets to shine in this drama. - u/imerremi

Love With Flaws - A comedy that doesn't take itself too seriously at all. It starts out with a close portrayal of strange bodily reactions due to a childhood trauma and a bunch of misunderstandings about each others sexual orientation. As these are being dealt with, you are bound to laugh hysterically watching high quality satire and learn a few things about life same time. Love With Flaws offers namely both and that's what makes it stand out. We see different characters bravely face their demons (since you cannot live your life to the fullest with all the emotional baggage tucked safely away in the closet). We also see love and and acceptance transcending gender boundaries. What I personally got out of Love With Flaws was a timeless message of hope and staying true to yourself no matter what. If you want people to appreciate who you really are, don't be afraid to show them your true self. That's who YOU are after all. - u/imerremi

Potato star  The canned laughter is annoying at first, and the drama is pretty long, but you will not regret. The very kind and generous employee let you sleep next to their car in the garage. The overconfident and selfish chaebol boy who becomes like a child.  The kind mother who tries to earn money through pyramid schemes. I Live in Cheongdam-dong: A sitcom about a poor family that moves into the fancy neighborhood of Cheongdam-dong where they run a somewhat run-down manhwa store. As this family learns to deal with their new living situation, comedy ensues. It's hard to sum up this drama since it has so many stories and characters contained within it, but at the heart of all the stories and characters is the central idea of what it means to live and pursue your dreams. And so, through all its stories, you see people trying to pursue the life they want, no matter their age, their occupation, or their family condition. Filled with laughs and some tears, you'll probably find at least one character that you relate to.  - u/myweithisway

18 Again - Literally all the scenes with Lee Do-Hyun acting as the father/38-year old man are hilarious. His random screaming moments will just make you LOL. There were many other characters that will make you feel cringed out - the ML's best friend - but also make you laugh at all the weirdness. It's also a really wholesome slice-of-life family drama and surprisingly I loved the chemistry between Lee Do-Hyun and Kim Ha-Neul. So you're in for a treat. - u/Fatooz

A Love So Beautiful - I genuinely loved the way the drama dealt with most of the high-school aspects and problems but all the cute and funny scenes/antics that the FL does will bring a smile on your face and will definitely make you laugh. It's super adorable and cute and is definitely a lot more times better than the Chinese Version. - u/Fatooz

Cinderella and the Four Knights - Okay, I know it's a super cliched rom-com but the FL's character is so hilarious and I absolutely loved her love-hate relationship with the ML and SML, all her antics were just so funny. It will definitely bring a smile on your face and make you laugh. - u/Fatooz

Coffee Prince - I think this is one of those gender benders where the FL blended so well with her character that as a viewer you'd easily believe she's a guy. Her walking style, the way she was so chill and cool, I loved her antics though I did find her eating habits to be very unhealthy. But her banter and bromance with the other male characters was so good that it definitely fits in the comedy drama list.  - u/Fatooz

Crash Landing on You - Just loved the comedy that the soldiers and the village ajhummas brought in the drama, I also loved the SFL's mother's character. I think it's a good drama when you want laughter and wholesomeness combined and also big actors.  - u/Fatooz

Descendants of the Sun - Definitely cheesy and one of Kim Eun-Sook's classics, but the bromance is so good that it brings laughter with it.  Song Joong-Ki's character - Yoo Shi-Jin - is just the perfect guy who can make you laugh and cry anytime. I'd recommend this any day if you're in the mood for a cheesy rom-com that has some or the other action going on throughout and that gives you four amazing leads with great chemistry. - u/Fatooz

Mr. Queen - This one's a laughter riot and all the credit goes to Shin Hye-Sun for her outstanding acting as a female character with a soul of a man. She's done so much justice to her character that you'll keep laughing at all her scenes and her chemistry with each and everyone is beautiful. It has quite a lot of palace politics but that doesn't reduce the fun/comedy even one bit. - u/Fatooz

Secret Garden - It's definitely a bit of a problematic drama with Hyun Bin being not-so-nice and Ha Ji-Won going from a strong stuntwoman to a damsel-in-distress. But the body swap and everytime Hyun Bin gets a kick or punch from Ha Ji-Won are scenes that will make you laugh and trust me you'll find yourself not minding the problematic aspects much and just go with the flow. - u/Fatooz

The Tale of Nokdu - I knew the moment I signed up for this drama that it was going to be super fun because of how unusual the gender-bender aspect was - a male character dressing up as a female character. Jang Dong-Yoon's acting as Lady Kim is just amazing and will give you all the laughter. I was amazed at how beautifully he pulls off the character. The chemistry between him and Kim So-Hyun is also really nice. Though beware, the drama takes a few dark turns, it still will entertain you just so well and you'll find yourself laughing out loud at all the awkward and weird Lady Kim scenes! - u/Fatooz
