best light romance dramas

I may be biased (I'm a carat), but this is really a good fluffy cdrama. High school through college and then work life, we witness the main leads falling in love and realizing it. It doesn't have any misunderstanding, the female lead (while being a bit childish and unnerving sometimes) is smart and caring. I like the male-chasing-female trope. It also has a lot (and I mean a lot) of demonstrations of affection (kisses, hugs...) and they're really well done (it's weird to say, but Jun seems a great kisser). 

Not really a light romance but surely one of the best (if not THE best) wuxia that has ever been produced. Zhao Lusi and Yang Yang are perfect here, with their characters completely independent from one another; they have such a chemistry going on! My heart still flutters everytime I think about them!

This is not really a light romance, but it's too good not to be added. Independent female lead, outstanding male lead. I really love how they stand up for each other, how they trust and confide in each other. Actually skipped two episodes because of a big misunderstanding, but the couple comes back better than before. Also, Chen Fei Yu is a really great actor, I mean his eyes were able to portray his emotions just amazingly.

My comfort cdrama! Strong female lead, heartwarming relationship with the main lead. Childhood crush plot. It's cute, sees the main leads while they reach their independence. Also, the OSTs are so freaking good! This is the right drama to watch on a starry night after a long day, with the city in front of you.

Not really a light romance, but certainly the best cdrama ever. Highly recommended: found family main plot, with mental illness and child abandonment as tropes. There's romance, although it develops later on through the drama (I like to think it's divided in two parts: childhood and adulthood). It can make one cry easily, and there are some characters that are easily hated, but this drama is worth it all. 

Age gap, secret and childhood crush. Have I said how amazing Zhao Lusi is? She portrayed a high schooler perfectly, although she was too childish for my taste. But when she became an adult? Wow. Also, the actors are both good at displaying emotions and affection, their intimate scenes are accurate and really touching. Loved the relationship the female lead has with her brother.

Quite cute, don't really remember what happened in between but I do know that Xing Fei is one of my favorite female actresses and Lin Yi is one of my favorite male actors. It's a light romance, one you can watch in the evening before going to bed after a tiring day.

Natural misunderstanding that does not get dragged too long, no love triangles or drama, no toxic relationships, no time skips, no red flags... Love at first sight plot. This is one of the best fluff cdrama I've ever watched. There's a lot of trust between the main leads, no cringe scenes and with an uplifting and youthful spirit. The female lead may seem annoying, but it gets better throughout the episodes.

Probably one of the best cdrama of 2023 of this genre. Fresh start, not so common plot. It then starts to melt to the overused cliches, but it remains enjoyable until the end.

Alright so... biggest problem here is another character, but it isn't that frustrating so don't worry. Both leads are smart and us viewers can actually witness them becoming more mature as time passes by.

Another drama full of cliches, but here we have a little kid, so it's way better! The main plot is contract marriage.

Really cute, there's actually nothing going on, just them meeting and falling in love. Sometimes it may seem cringe, but don't worry those moments are forgettable!

And here we are again with Lin Yi! Alright so this one maybe shouldn't be here, it has lots of missed encounters especially in the first episodes, lots of gaming scenes that don't really fit but and it may be a little cliche... It's one of those dramas that don't become memorable, it's simple and enjoyable if you don't pay too much attention to details.

Shy female lead with a golden retriever boyfriend. Fluff and cute, do not recommend if you've already read the manga (the cast adaptation isn't accurate). Overall, nice drama to spend the afternoon.

Contract marriage plot, basically all the tropes are cliches. It's good, sweet and definitely a light romance, but if you're searching for something original then don't watch.

Not too much drama, it focuses on dreams and goals. Both main leads are hardworking and have strong personalities, and are trying to find happiness in their life journey. 

Really short drama, there are some problematics and sometimes the female lead is frustrating, but the moments she has with the male lead make it absolutely worth it.

Independent and smart female lead, cute and fluffy scenes. Just a big misunderstanding (totally uncalled for) that honestly kind of ruined the drama, but this is also forgettable.

Yeah, I was also starting thinking this was a cdrama list... Well, this is fluff, just one big misunderstanding and nice scenery. Female lead could possibly become unnerving at the end.

Of course we're still talking about Zhao Lusi! Main tag is age gap, and if you love food then this is for you!

Female lead may be frustrating at times, and the dynamics aren't exactly the best. Enjoyable but forgettable.

My first cdrama ever btw. Alright, so... I putting this one here because I don't want you guys to watch it: the male lead is overly possessive, to the point he dictates things about her life, stalks her to make sure she doesn't get too close to her friend... And she is so freaking stupid!

I guess everyone here knows this drama. Rom-com full of cliches, a little bit too overrated... But it's good for a one time watch.

There's better, but there's also worse. Don't like how dull the female lead is, the classic cliches and how they're inserted into the story, but it has a nice plot and overall is good enough to spend some time.

Cute miniseries, almost no misunderstandings probably due to how short it is, characters not well developed. Completely forgettable, but also nice to watch.

This is an enemy to fake dating to lovers. It's entertaining enough, kind of short due to having only ten episodes, but overall a nice watch. There are a few misunderstandings, but nothing to worry about.

Sweet and fluffy, definitely the best one with child involved. This is a second chance romance type of drama, there are a few misunderstandings but the nature of the drama is comic and romantic so nothing major happens.
