Dropped Dramas (+reason)
The dramas I dropped and a brief reason why, for my poor memory's sake.
-
1. Busque: WWW
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
[DROPPED 2022] (Watched 2/16) The show could just not hold my interest. Intriguing topic about internet's role in society, but I guess the characters and plot were not dynamic enough for me

2. Pretendente Surpresa
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
[DROPPED 2022] (Watched: 10/12) I liked the first half, but after the identify is revealed, I really hated how the ml abused his power as CEO to mess with the FL. Like, she shouldn't have to actively worry about Losing Her Job at your amusement! Just continued to get worse from there, and couldn't complete the last two episodes

3. Oh, Minha Vênus
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
[DROPPED 2022] at episode 14. I was seriously debating dropping it at episode 6 (due to that terrible ending, totally killed any chemistry between the two leads from then on out in my eyes), but decided I liked the female lead too much and gave it a second chance.
I liked it for the most part after pushing through, and was rooting mainly for Shin Min-A’s character and enjoying the comedy added by Henry Lau’s character. But around episode 11 things got suuuuper melodramatic (and not in the good, juicy way), and I tried to push through, but I’m sitting about 20 mins into episode 14 at this point, and the meaningless separation pared with endless flashbacks have made me totally lose interest. -
4. Sorriso Real
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
[DROPPED 2023, 10/16] Gosh I wanted to like this one with the adorable Yi Jun Ho in it, and the beginning wasn't terrible, but by episode 9... It just wasn't interesting and the male leads sister felt like such a waste of a character. I actually ended up feeling the most sorry for her because she was obviously more competent than her brother and trying to survive in a world that chews and spits out powerful woman, yet she was the main antagonist. It just didn't sit right with me in the end. I dropped it on the most pointless, filler episode I've ever seen -- the trip to Thailand.

5. De Volta às Raízes
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
[DROPPED APRIL 2024, 9/16 WATCHED] This has so many actors whose works I've enjoyed before in it, I thought it was a guaranteed good watch, but I completely lost interest around episode 9. I didn't like how the main female lead was being developed, and I thought there was a lot of loss of potential with the things the drama could've been exploring theme-wise. I hated the direction it was going with the secretly sick mom, and the weird back-and-forth romance wasn't doing it for me either.
