These are my top fave Chinese dramas!! The first two star Yang Yang and the last two star Ding Yuxi. He's such a good actor and pairs so well with each female lead. The first two are on Netflix and the latter two are on Youtube in HQ!
- Love o2o (definitely college life, would recommend, very wholesome around friendships)
- The King's Avatar (not really a love story, a drama about e-sports/gaming but also wholesome in friendships/relations to one another)
- Intense Love (takes place post-college but the chemistry is so great, so much fluffy romance)
- Romance of Tiger and Rose (traditional drama with a twist where women are the ones in charge, romcom)
Another one is a high school life-type of Chinese drama's is Just an Encore which takes you through a silly college girl's life. Sometimes (a lot of times) the main girl annoyed me but the drama was great in showcasing flaws of each student and how they navigated hs problems. Reset Life is a short 5 ep drama about a girl who goes back in time to school and changes her future. This was short, sweet, and to the point with no draggy episodes. And the Meteor Garden remake is basically a school-life Chinese drama (also on Netflix). It's basically the Chinese version of Meteor Garden, Hana Yori Dango, Boys Over Flowers.
filovedrama:Recently, I have been feeling like this too! I don’t watch a lot of Chinese dramas but some of my recommendations are:
Sotus (Thai drama)
Sky Caste (Korean Drama)
Someday or One Day (Taiwanese drama)
My Engineer (Thai drama)
Before we get Married (Taiwanese drama)
Tharntype (Thai drama- but has a lot of triggers)
Kluen Cheewit (Thai drama)
Before We Get Married was awesome, I've never tried the others except for Someday and Kluen. For the Thai dramas are the ml's aggressive or extremely obsessive kind??

Love O2O is my fav--I've watched it like 8-12 times already. I've been recommended to watch Tiger and Rose so I'll definitely watch that. The King's Avatar, I'm afraid there's gonna be a scene which will break my heart so I've been afraid to begin that--is it worth the watch??

I love loveeee love o2o!! I've watched it like 3x and specific episodes probably 5x hahaha. Xiao Nai and Bei Bei were so good together. Intense Love is a close runner up because of the main leads chemistry. I just finished Romance of Tiger and Rose yesterday and it was good too, especially since I'm not too into traditional dramas.
I'm not sure which scene of King's Avatar you're referring to but I would recommend it! Yang Yang basically faces the obstacles that come to him. I didn't think I'd end up being so into watching game plays (since half the time is him and his team literally playing games) but it was addictive.

I'm not referring to a specific scene it's just certain dramas I see involving games usually has a scene in which the team breaks apart and gets back together-- such scenes break my heart coz it normally happens right before their biggest match.
There's a new drama coming out this year I think including Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang, hopefully, their chemistry is still as awesome!!

Sotus and My Engineer are BLs meaning you’ll have two male leads LOL. For Sotus, both characters are aggressive with each other but it’s not like draggy. In My Engineer, there’s quite a few couples so you’ll get to watch a variety of characters. Both are also created by the same director, but I recommend watching Sotus first if you do choose to watch. As for Tharntype, it is a bit intense, so if you are up for that, I think it’s a decent watch. BUT it’s definitely not draggy trust me on that. You get a cliffhanger in every episode like a kdrama haha.

I see, thank you!!
I don't know if these are draggy but here are a few of my recommendations:
1. The Untamed
9. Unexpected

Is the untamed as good as the rumours say it is??
I think Love Designer is a really really good one if you haven’t watched it already because it’s just one if those dramas that are relatable in one way, but their not. And it’s such a good drama and their chemistry is just out of this world, honestly. Like, it’s so so natural that you don’t even think it’s a drama!
