Different Romance, But Interesting
I consider this pretty much a pure romance drama. The female lead was very pretty with a very expressive face. I loved her! Male lead wasn’t permitted to show much emotion, apparently. I felt the personally of the two leads were quite unique to the dramas I have watched so far. The conflict and misunderstanding between the two leads came primarily from their almost total lack of communication. They almost never talked casually. Never talked when something upset them. Never talked when one wanted to know something. There was a lot of inner talk from the female lead. But she didn’t speak out loud. This couple interacted a lot over eating. Eating was important to the story. The ML, being a rich CEO, always seemed to wait for FL to make the first move in the relationship. It was weird. He had no game. Didn’t take her on fun dates. Didn’t give her flowers, jewelry, balloons, nothing to woo her. Anyway I could go on. This relationship was really weird, but also strangely entertaining to watch. There was a lot of growth to the major characters in this drama. One thing I found boring was the long relationship chats between the girl friends. Went on too long. Yawn. This gave you insight to the Chinese way families interacted. The sometimes huge expectations the parents had for their children’s future, and the way the children were expected to follow the rules of their parents, even if it was against their own dreams and wants. In the end, looking back, it was definitely worth watching, but not rewatching.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Looking for fluff? Look no further
I usually stayed away from C-Dramas due to weird and convoluted plotlines, messy characterization, long and stretched episodes count and whatnots. This, however, was the first one, that being such a refreshing watch, it changed my opinion on C-Dramas completely.Watch this for romance and fluff, this won't disappoint! Romance is really well done here and the main leads have a real good chemistry. Even the secondary main leads have good chemistry.
The story is simple but its done beautifully. There are cliches sometimes but they all get resolved in a very positive manner. There is angst too, many a times, but the end to that angst is very rewarding. This is exactly how a good story is written. I was engaged throughout and it also never left a bad taste in my mouth.
Characterization, on the other hand, was done amazingly. Most characters if not all were likeable in their own way. Very rarely did I find myself getting annoyed by a character's decision and that too for a very short period of time.
FL's character for one was really likeable. In some scenes she was super adorable tbh. Real good performance by Zhao Li Ying.
ML, on the other hand, was a bit too stoic. He needs to learn to communicate more, caused too many misunderstandings needlessly.
SML was okay throughout. His character did develop a bit later on.
SFL, though, was the one with the most character development of all. She actually matured from a childhood infatuation to real love. Quite a major character development right there. Despite many hating her for her selfish decisions, I empathize with her situation and understand why she did what she did. Amazing acting by the actress Li Cheng Yuan.
All the other side characters were likeable too, no complaints nowhere at all.
Overall a super sweet and super fun uplifting show.
This might be my first time rating a C-Drama above 8, but this deserves it without a doubt. 8.5/10

What I didn't like was the characters in the beginning. They were all garbage people who were self centered and lacked communication. Even the heroine at the start was this way.
I will agree with the opinion that the length was wasted. In the end it left me wanting to see them live out this happy ending, but it was cut off. At the same time it did lag at times with side stories that weren't important. The best characters were definitely Shan Shan's family. Most like able people in the whole drama from start to finish. I wish they had been involved more.
I would recommend this to anyone who loves romance stories. It's also funny and awkward at times, but it's all apart of its charm.

Story> not a new story, only a story that demonstrated love(good & bad) at its different stages for folks over the age of 25. The poor-ditzy girl from country meets the prince of the city, both in need of a case of love to shake off the chills of loneliness & immaturity.
Actors> The two leads simply simmered & sizzled on screen acting out this "rella' story. The side story's and actors all repeated a similar storyline of the right love & support can mature a man & woman. Standout: The lead actor was this smoldering sexy, intelligent prince, waiting - urging his girl to grow-up into the woman she is meant to become (and does).
Overall>>
33eps _45~min each is long, but the story does move along and a bit skipping helps the move along. Cdrama sometimes have a low-budget feel however this drama feels and looks first rate putting it equal to any Kdrama RomCom. The only cheesy part for me were the misleading posters, not giving this drama a fair chance.
>Music - cute but not distracting, no music worms will invade.
Give this a shot is you like RomCom_ the story is good, heart moving and lots of twists, love triangles, betrayal and patient, enduring LOVE.

but anyways,
this drama was great for me because it was steady and balanced, it didnt really have complications that last for ages and huge misunderstandings (for example; boys over flowers) the lead girl does not suffer alot but it still had some plot twists and exciting scenes.
what i also loved about this drama is the skinship (dont judge me xD) in korean drama not much skin ship is included and sometimes that makes me feel lack of chemistry between the actors but in this drama they had full on skinships and amazingly cute scenes, I could've died from happiness and fluff!
the actor for feng teng (zhang han) did amazingly in this show because I really though that he fits the role well. and so did the actress for shan shan, because she's so amazingly cute.
as feng teng wasnt the typical cold guy and i-dont-give-a-rats-ass-about-the-girl person, and he was actually pretty nice, you'll learn to fall in love with his cute personality during the show.
I only had a couple of problems, some being the romantic sub-plots of all the other characters, maybe its just me but those werent really interesting for me so i just skipped them, but i would totally re-watch for shan-shan and feng tang again!
its a bit cheesy and fluffy but its a nice change from all the sad drama which are filled with angst.
if you love shows that are not filled with sadness, complications and suffering but instead full of fluffy scenes and shan shan's trip to being a mature person then i recommend this drama to you.

Boss & Me was a cute office-romance drama that, while mostly stereotypical, had a few unique aspects that made it stand out. To break it down—What I liked:
+ Hans Zhang as Feng Teng. He wasn’t necessarily original (seemingly cold but actually warm-hearted and lonely CEO) but Hans Zhang played Feng Teng’s expressionless demeanor really well which helped make his character all the more loveable as he slowly became wrapped around Shan Shan’s finger.
+ How the relationship dynamics between a boss and a low-level employee were played out. I feel like a lot of dramas have tried to do this well, but none have quite hit the mark like Boss & Me. Shan Shan has to deal with a lot of pressure at work (surprise) but the way it is presented and her inner monologue/awkwardness around Feng Teng felt really real to me. Early on, her constant annoyance with Feng Teng was annoying and long-suffering but after we get into the real meat of the story and how she has to deal with the pressure of dating a CEO despite her low status was really great.
+ The reason Feng Teng likes Shan Shan is nothing special, and he recognizes that. In the beginning this actually annoyed me, since I was wondering why he liked her when she basically tried to avoid him at all costs and was never all that nice to him. However, later when asked that question he responds with “There is nothing special…but one things for sure, she can really eat.” I found that to be really endearing. Shan Shan did not have to stand out to him in any particular way…he just liked her because he liked her.
+ Feng Teng’s family background. It was very refreshing for once to not have squabbling family members plotting to take over the business or scheming mother’s trying to set their sons up. Feng Teng’s family was very supportive and genuine.
Which brings me to what I did not like:
+ Shan Shan. While there where times when I did really like her (in particular, pretty much just the middle of the drama)…in the beginning and in the end she was not my favorite person. A lot of the way she acted and reacted I could understand at first, but then became annoying once they were drug out. For example, in the beginning she is hesitant to be around Feng Teng. Totally get it, I would be intimidated and uncomfortable too…but as she gets to know him and even laughs with him…I did not understand how she could so forcibly try to stay away from him when he was going out of his way for her. It just made her seem very petty and self-righteous. In the end, I never really felt like she loved him all that much, while on the other hand I could see that Feng Teng loved her completely unconditionally.
+ Typical plot devices. Some of those a-typical designs to keep the plot going were used here and it was just angsty and annoying. Totally unlike the author who wrote the original novel’s other work Love O2O, which was disappointing.
+ No chemistry. Maybe it’s just because I didn’t really care for Shan Shan but I just did not feel any chemistry between her and Feng Teng. Whenever they kissed it was just okay…and I never felt that heart-pounding anticipation for them to get.together.already. They were still really cute at times, just had no special magnetic pull.
All in all, there were plenty of sweet moments and a good dose of realism at times that made this watchable for me, but I doubt I will go back for seconds.

Their relationship is really fun to watch. I didn't care for his female friend who was in love with him, but the story needed some sort of conflict I guess. Besides that, most of their struggles felt real, their problems did make sense and together they were always a perfect match. It's definitely a palette cleanser, nothing too serious, but what a great drama to watch.
New favourite!

The relationship between the main characters is so cute and innocent. I read some reviews slandering how the female lead is too “air headed / dumb”. I do not agree at all. In the situations she was placed in over and over again, she takes a step back in experience and seems as if she doesn’t understand what’s going on... because she doesn’t!! The way the male lead helps guide her and reassured her through the drama just makes my heart melt. There is drama to be had though!! The drama they face really brings the main leads down to earth to re-evaluate the love they have for each other.
The side characters of this drama were totally worth not skipping over! Ever piece of this drama has some new information and emotions. This drama can be taken as light hearted and silly at points, but at some other points things get serious and you will be taken for a ride. I definitely recommend this drama. I usually tell people who are new to the drama world the check this one out first!! Usually brings them right into this wonderful realm of dramas!

This is one of the cutest dramas in my opinion, simply because of the actions between the two main leads. I really loved how Feng Teng (guy main lead) displays his emotions and how he helps Xue Shan Shan (girl main lead) behind the scenes. To me, Zhang Han is my bias and he has never let me down whenever he is doing a drama. His actions can make you swoon, and that is one factor that helps make the drama so successful.Xue Shan Shan displays her actions fervently and openly. However, she tends to overthink about things, which can lead to complications. The ending is satisfying overall. I wished that there was a season 2 but either way, without another season, it should satisfy you. Overall, love the acting and the interactions between the main and second leads as well.
Definitely a rewatch in my opinion! :)
