Not All Demons are the Same

So far this has been a captivating drama and I recommend it if you want something different from the run of the mill dramas. The cinematography and production is excellent, it feels like you are watching a big budget movie even though its a drama series. It is DIFFERENT and breaks from any box that I tried to initially put it in. The female lead characters are not the cutesy ditsy ones you typically see in Xianxia fantasy dramas. It has an eye catching young cast who are doing well with the character portrayal that has some grown up themes. They each carry the weight of the character's burden of loss and regrets. You feel like you are watching something that is digging deeper emotionally where the characters are forced to look within to grow in their journey together. There isn't much romance so far although it is alluding to it with the demon ML and the goddess FL. It focuses on the fantasy mystery of a group of individuals who are as diverse from each other as they can be who have conflicting goals and a camaraderie that develops with the life and death situations as they fight demons and unravel the mysteries in the demon and mortal worlds. The one thing that I am kind of meh on is the comedy they try to inject in, sometimes its a bit jarring when they switch from a moment where it seems serious to one where its supposed to be funny.

Lo aspettavo, mi sta deludendo

Ero partita a guardare questo drama con tutto l'entusiasmo possibile di un cast stellare e un impatto visivo degno di un colossal, ma la bravura degli attori non è sufficiente per tenere in piedi una storia lenta, visuale ma non emozionante, priva di vero conflitto tra le parti e dove neppure il gioco di sguardi tra personaggi fa la differenza.
La scelta di far recitare tutti a bassa voce, con flemma e a frasi brevi è l'emblema di come le premesse si stiano frantumando una dopo l'altra, come la mia voglia di arrivare alla fine.
Essere belli non è sufficiente e, considerando che il cast è fatto di attori bravi davvero, sta ammazzando il poco pathos rimasto: perfino il dolore più intollerabile è gestito da seduti a gambe incrociate.
Non sto dicendo che i personaggi vadano torturati, ma che lo spettatore possa sentire le loro emozioni è la base per un coinvolgimento che rende un'opera indimenticabile. E qui non c'è.

It keeps you on the edge of your seat, twisting in ways that keep you guessing and craving more.

The architectural design and visual style are simply *breathtaking*. It’s like being transported to an entirely new world, rich with beautiful scenery and meticulous detailing that feels like a dream. I’m totally obsessed! And let’s talk about Tian Jiarui – they are such a pretty crier, capturing emotions in a way that’s both moving and real. Plus, having Chen Duling as a main character is beyond exciting – she brings such grace and intensity to her role. I haven’t been this invested in a drama in a long time!

Must try this drama, very exciting

Okay, first of all, I've been waiting for this drama.
When the trailer came out it was really wow, and when the first episode was released it was exactly what I was waiting for.

I didn't follow MJY before because I don't really like dramas that are too convoluted, but it's good. I'm not surprised the director is the best

The story is interesting and different, I really hope there is a drama that is different and not boring like this. At least it doesn't revolve around political issues, bullying, zombies or things that are not Rational. Well, unless it's a fantasy genre.

So far this drama is really my type, because I often watch anime and action adventure movies. Wow, I'm amazed by the graphics, the soundtrack is really cool like an RPG game

It's DARK, ENCHANTING, and FULL OF POTENTIALS

Ahhhh.. As you know lah, I always love this kind of dark hero stories, so of course I will give those dramas a special attention...

Mysteries, and demons... what else could I ask? Those are a perfect combination... As for you can guess, fans of My Journey To You, would know that these two dramas come from same home production and director and even the same costume designer, they look so similar, right? I don't have to explain too much then, If you watch MJTY and loves it, then you would know how impressive the production. They look fabulous. That's a fact.

What could influence good dramas beside impressive productions would only be the story itself.
- How does the story telling?
Mysterious enough to make me itchy for the next episodes, that's for sure.
- How are the characters development?
As far I watch the first 3 episodes, I can tell they have so much potentials and so much to explore.
- How much Fangs of Fortune could give us satisfaction at these last months of 2024?
That......, we must see later.


I will update my review later, but I think I won't worry too much... just hoping won't be ended just as MJTY did, a season two await.. hahahaha

Waiting for this because of Neo and liking Mjty but.. Sorry I don't like the plot

‌‌It feels unfair to Lilun who used to be Zhuyan's best friend like Zhuyan didn't try to persuade Lilun to repent, Zhuyan seemed to have given up on persuading Lilun and chose her human friends even though they only communicated because Zhuyan didn't try to communicate with Lilun.

‌Ying Lei who put in the most effort to save Bai Jiu, but her friends only felt the loss after she died, when she was still around she was always ignored, luckily her child was happy so they didn't think about her.

‌The plot seemed to be very hard to save Bai Jiu, but with many sacrifices little by little that person sacrificed, the next day the others sacrificed.

‌Those who are always trapped by Lilun & Chongwu Camp are annoying, they are so slow, my goodness 🙃

‌Even though Zhuyan already knows that the Nuwa stone can fix his sword, why did it take so long to tell him before Lilun took it. My goodness, it's so annoying

‌A predictable plot from the start, at the beginning Zhuyan is very op = at the end he becomes very weak ✔️ the opposite of Zhou Yichen

‌GJM's characteristic = the second lead shines more 🔥 throughout the plot it seems like ZYC's journey to becoming an op 😅

‌There is no chemistry between Zhao Yuanzhou - Wen Xiao, because at the beginning they always fight, suddenly in the middle they start to like each other, where did that come from? There is no falling in love scene It doesn't make sense 🙃 they are more suited as friends if you look at their social interactions so far it would be better if there was no love line

‌Actually I'm annoyed that Yinglei makes an effort to Baijiu but Bai Jiu makes an effort to Zyc, Zyc makes an effort to Wen Xiao, Wen Xiao makes an effort to Zyz (what kind of relationship is this 😓) what do you mean by that

‌I really like Ade's relationship, I'm honestly bored 🥲 because it's so predictable.

‌It's annoying that this is a life-exchange event 😤 Wow, Lilun is actually good, Zyz/Zy just lacks effort to persuade Lilun until finally Lilun is taken advantage of 😮‍💨

‌What's with the ending, it's like a waste of time watching just to spoil your eyes with the scenery 😑

‌It's sadder when Yinglei & Lilun die than Baijiu & Zhuyan die. Why did Qing Gang die just to save Zyc? They didn't even remind me anymore, poor Qing Gang

‌I wanted to curse watching the last 2 ep
‌The villain is too OP, very strong + always in the lead and they are very weak, always losing, always being tricked, used too + always falling into the villain's trap.

‌There is no good plot twist like mjty at the end of the episode -_-
‌The most annoying thing is that GJM clearly made TJR's OP 😒 Neo became ah never mind like a parent who only protects TJR's PU 🙄

‌GJM this time only paid attention to the CGI, the storyline is disappointing

‌The relationship between the characters is also like they are on their own. They don't seem to fit together.

Visually amazing, needed to be shorter. Lacks substance, FL is a goddess but weak?

I personally am getting a bit bored of this drama. I have fast forwarded a lot.
The drama gives the viewers the goal early on, to complete the goddess's token and save the wilderness, also killing ML in the end because he wants to "atone" for his sins.
I love Neo's acting in this one a lot more than Back from the brink. From the start, we know that male lead wants to die because he can't control his demonic powers and kills people. The self-loathing theme is on almost every episode. Also, the kid doesn't add much to the story. I thought his screams were funny at first, but i skip most of the scenes with him.
I just don't like the direction they took with this drama. It could've been amazing, but it turned into a big crying angst festival

It Couldn't Hold My Interest

**This is just my opinion. I truly appreciate all of the hard work and dedication that went into the making of this drama. Thank you.**

I was really looking forward to binge watching this drama. Unfortunately, despite having a really great cast, it still couldn't catch or hold my interest by the end of episode 6. I'm sure that I'm not going to explain this right but the story felt hollow. Yes, we were told about missing pieces and sad things about the characters' lives but it wasn't done through the eyes or point of view of just a few. It's scattered with multiple vendettas, past trauma a criminal case, etc. all happening when we've just been introduced to the characters. The pacing feels off. If they had just given us a chance to get to know the characters better before rushing to add all the rest it would have made a huge difference.

The actors themselves did a very good job. The costumes were beautiful and the soundtrack was outstanding.
