Will not entertain You!!!

Yes,this show is no good if you want a watchable experience,except that It is unique character of pearl diver female lead(only 2 ep and rest was thinking i was pearl diver back then),The biggest drawback(I felt) was this is like a game finished this level, ok what is next and that too "boring",For this kind of a drama,one expects most of characters to be intro at a max of 8 episodes,And in this new characters show up even after 24,Vague story line,Big disappointment after scenes in Yangzhou, Irritating antagonists,bad triangle among leads, I tried watching it for LYN but can't continue I wish LYN to select character based scripts

A drama worthy of your emotions.

This is the first time a drama has affected me so much. The feeling of stopping and letting go of my hurt first before I continue, I cried when they both cried and was really hurt looking at Zhao Lusi so devastated because LYN was holding another woman. I was also angry at him when he shouted at her being taken home by the scholar yet she always stay humble. The drama LLtG was good but this one is great. LLtG's story is not so tortuous unlike the SoPG where you want to watch but is hesitant because you are also protecting your own emotions. The scenes are wonderful and the soundtracks are fitting. In this drama, ZL and LYN will bring you to their make believe world through their amazing acting and real life romance. This drama is worth your time and emotions.

Worth the Buzz

I sometimes have the premonition that when something is hyped, it’s most likely not worth it. Honestly the over posting about the drama beforehand got annoying that I considered unfollowing some platforms. Fast forward, I tuned in right away when it aired, and I’m blown away at how much I am enjoying it. My gosh first episode had me so invested I was so impressed with the cinematic quality. It’s like the real life scene of the animated Ariel under the sea . Bravo well done.

So much attention is given to main leads (deservedly so) but really though, everyone of the cast and their contributions deserve applause. I watch the older veterans and am so impressed at how they do so well with their lines and acting their parts. What to do without them right? So grateful for their work.

Production team did really well planning out each scene that the story flow is great as we can easily follow the story of the enslaved pearl harvester heroine. Lusi really put in the work to her character as she is shining. In fairness, as I’ve said, everyone is playing their role really well.

Join in the fun as the story unravels. It’s a fun ride and of course we got long ways to go but so far, it’s a very promising story that hopefully will end as it started, on a very high bar.

The Emotional Rollercoaster you don’t want to get off! Zhao Lusi Delivers EVERYTIME

So far… I felt the emotion of each character that if it ends as a tragic love story, I would completely understand why. From the very first episode, Duanwu is no punk! I love how Duanwu as a character even though she is naive in some aspects ai ly because she’s grown up in the Pearl farm but she’s also exceptionally smart for someone who has had to Literally fight for everything she’s ever had. The fire in her eyes is that of a survivor! She’s realistic. So far we’re seeing the development of an intimate storyline between ML and FL and it’s one of understanding, they’re from the same world, they make sense together. In the same light we’re seeing the expressions of interest to the FL by the SML and she’s shut him down at every turn. Like I said, she’s no punk so she’s not going to feed into his sugarcoated sweet talk! I love this aspect of the drama especially because there’s no dilly dallying of leading the SML on just to have an unnecessary additional plot line! She knows that in the world they live in, they could never work! I especially loved when she challenged SML when he spoke of the mermaid and the scholar story! She’s an ambitious dreamer in the sense that she knows what she wants and she’s not afraid to Grab it. She’s realistic (see her interactions with SML and his advances) and she doesn’t believe in fairytales which is what I’m sensing from the SML! I loved when his attendant asked him if he would be willing to go against his family for her, and judging by his character, a person who at every turn seems to do what is right, he probably wouldn’t.

Her journey with ML leaves us as viewer anticipating and trying to guess if they will make it! You may be thinking, why should she fall for someone who essentially abused her physically from the day he met her, but again this story is not that of roses and fairytales! KJ explains that he wanted her to become resilient because that’s essentially how he grew up. Then we get to see a little bit of insight into his survival story and we realise the beating she received at his hands was cherries compared to the tragedy he faced to become who he is. Again ML and FL make perfect sense together… there’s no other way to describe it!

Every single character so far in this drama has understood the assignment and has delivered! There has been no miss-cast and the drama engages you from the first scene in the first episode, I mean get your tissues ready. You’re thrown into a world that’s completely different from other CDramas! I think the story really sheds light into what life was like for the majority of people back then, because it wasn’t all fairies and a fight for the throne and power! There were people who were killed senselessly, kidnapped and thrown into slavery, tortured, raped etc! We get thrown into a world in cdrama that we as viewers are not particularly familiar with because most stories are usually toned down or they are Palace dramas so we know what to expect. With TSOPG we don’t know what to expect so it allows us to relate to FL even more because she’s taking us on that journey.

This show has been amazing so far and I really hope the momentum continues to build until the very end. I’m giving it an early 10 stars because of how captivated I have been from the first episode. I mean I was crying from episode one, I’ve laughed with them as well and I’ve cried again. The casting is EXCEPTIONAL! Ms ZLS NEVER DISAPPOINTS.

Great start however

I was excited and so looking forward to this series, the outline of the story was interesting and had real potential but i think in the end it failed to deliver . FL is a good actress and i really like ML Lui Yunning. so what could go wrong.
I felt the start was really really good and interesting and kept me waiting for the next episode but it started to drift. The actors did the best job they could with what i think was a confusing and chaotic story line and script. Or maybe it just wasn't for me. it was in the middle i felt it became lost so the writers threw everything at it, unfortunately it just meant that the middle part was not realistic and neither was it survivable. There it lost me. i did go back and watch the remaining episodes but not with the same enthusiasm that i had at the start.
I think the writers became lost so decided to throw every conceivable plot against the main characters, so it lost its appeal. when you are lost you should keep it simple, The actors are certainly good enough so they could showcase their talents, they did not need to be swamped with the chaos that followed.
I still feel a little cross and sad about it, Excellent actors, great story, what could go wrong.

through her character as duanwu, she left behind the most beautiful version of herself!

duan wu, like a pearl polished by the waves and sand, had her resilience and beauty brought to life by lusi's empathetic acting

whether it was her stubborn, unyielding tears while fighting against injustice, her sharpness in a breathtaking dance, or when she firmly told zhang langjun, "we are both fundamentally different," we could all see how much lusi cherished and deeply understood this character.

it is duan wu’s resilience and vivacity that makes this role unforgettable!

throughout the process, lusi embodied duan wu’s line: "women should not be bound by the fate spoken of by others." she grew with duan wu, accompanying her from resisting fate to reconciling with herself, completing her own transformation.

just like how sand turns into a pearl, lusi showcased the strength of women and the right to make their own choices. lusi became even more radiant because of duan wu, and with her sincere heart, she continues to sail forward in her acting journey 𓂃 𓈒𓏸

may both duan wu and lusi always shine like the sun, lighting the path ahead ☀️

A good show

I just finished watching it and I loved everything about it except for the ending. they give us this heartfelt journey where we watch duanwu escape from the pearl farm and become her own person and an outstanding businesswoman by none other then our male lead Yan zijan. I have watched every episode with full interest. It does not leave you bored whatsoever.

The story has a few interesting twists, some betrayals that you did not see coming. The only thing I didn't like in particular was the ending. It leaves you with an open ending where you just know Yan Zijan died and Duanwu is out travelling the world for over 40 years. we only see her convoy travelling.

Despite the ending however it is worth a watch. the chemistry between the two leads was on point from the very beginning. Zhao Lusi her performance was top tier and her character portrayal was on point. It's nothing like her usual characters that she plays but she did an excellent job. She plays a strong, arrogant (in the beginning) independent woman, with a clever mind and isn't afraid to take risks no matter what. I love watching her acting but this one was by far one of her best performances in my opinion.

The male lead also did not disappoint either. He portrayed Yan Zijan with grace and ease. I know there was many controversy around him being cast but I think it was the perfect fit. He did it as a favour to the producer and he did not disappoint in the slightest. He brought his character to life in the best way possible.

The romance between the two felt so natural and so real. it didn't feel forced and it was very enjoyable to watch. of course we should not ignore the other actors who did their very best in bringing there characters to life.

in short this drama is an absolute must watch. you won't feel bored and you'll immediately get dragged into it fully invested by the end of episode 1!

Terminato questo lungo viaggio di 40 puntate ...un viaggio intenso che non dimenticherò...la prima ventina di episodi è stata intensa e fantastica ...tutti questi paesaggi incredibili anche se era frutto di intelligenza artificiale è stato meraviglioso!! Il mare...la nave ...il deserto ..tutto stupendo...e che dire questi fantastici attori...zhao lusi pura magia l'ho sempre detto vicino a lei i suoi partner risaltano magnificamente..qui abbiamo avuto una daunwu nata schiava...che ha lottato per la sua libertà e per ciò che amava dall'inizio alla fine ...che ha perso tutto ma che ha avuto la forza di ricreare legami e una famiglia nuova intorno a lei ...fatta non di sangue ma di sincerità e fratellanza ...al suo fianco abbiamo avuto zijing che ci ha fatto sognare.. burbero altezzoso tenebroso .. un vero pirata che ha fatto vibrare il nostro cuore..ma così dolce ...una vendetta che doveva portare a termine per riscattare la sua famiglia ...un percorso doloroso per entrambi, alla fine sono riusciti a ottenere ciò che desideravano ...lo hanno ottenuto veramente? No perché anche se hanno realizzato i loro destini diventando daunwu una donna di successo accettata in un mondo di soli uomini in cui l'emancipazione delle donne e ancora lontana anni luce e zijing riscatta e vendica la sua famiglia, quello di stare insieme e vivere felici e contenti il loro amore non può avverarsi ... l'antidoto per zijing non si trova e il loro saluto è quello più straziante con tutti i loro ricordi che affiorano...bellissima la scena della stella nel cielo che prosegue in un altra direzione .... daunwu così diventa ciò che aveva sempre desiderato una commerciante errante in giro per il mondo con l'ultimo simbolo del suo grande amore ..l'anello di zijing al dito ...e la speranza che nel futuro altre persone che sono nate pietre possano diventare pietre preziose ....
