it started good but…

so, this show started in a very good way but i wish it ended with episode 5. i found episode 6 really confusing, i didn’t quite understood the message this drama was supposed to send. if it ended with episode 5 it all would have make more sense, what was the point of the whole break up story and the explanation of all the problems the couple had just to make them return together in the last couple of minutes just like that? it would have make more sense if they didn’t end up together at the end

Those that don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it

First, this show has nothing to do with Soundtrack #1, if anyone is wondering, other than them using the same bar/restaurant. You don't need to watch Soundtrack #1 before watching this.

This show actually made me mad. It's been a while since I have REALLY not cared for a FL. Here we have a wonderfully talented pianist, who loves playing the piano, but has decided to give it up. She has had surgery to her wrist and sometimes gets pain and stiffness, so she's going to forego all of her training in piano, the fact that the only time she is happy is when she is playing piano and become a food delivery person. We see her struggling to pay bills, we see that she hates being a delivery person. I don't feel her struggle. I see that she is prideful, she's got that "poor me" mentality going on, and we see her either sitting in corners being unhappy, or looking at the city, being unhappy. This girl would benefit greatly by some occupational therapy for her hand and a good therapist.

Then, the relationship. First, she's always mad at the ML because he doesn't have any money, doesn't seem to have any drive, and has delusions of grandeur. This was one of the reasons for the breakup (but, in my opinion, she was always so unhappy with herself that she would never be happy with another person). Years pass and they cross paths again. Now that he is successful, she's mad because he DOES have money! We see that she is STILL not happy with herself or her life, so why would we think the relationship would be any better?

Triangle - pointless.

I'm a sucker for a happy ending. I wait until shows are completely released so I can find out about the ending from others. If it's supposedly a romance and I invest hours in a show, the whole romance (to me) is a waste if the leads don't end up together (25/21, I'm looking at you!). That being said, the writers of Soundtrack #2 made a big mistake with having him show up at the airport. It would have been much better if she had just gotten on the plane and left by herself, then in my mind I could have convinced myself that she was on a voyage of self-discovery and would eventually get herself together. But this ending is like waiting for the other shoe to drop, you know they will ultimately break up again.

The story did start out confusing, but the episodes got better

But i am sad over it was a short drama. I liked the main couple/ Ex lovers and how they reconciled again, seeing they have still feelings for eachother. The girl was still confused with her feelings for the man, even though she could give the Artist K a chance. He really liked her, but she was too confused.

The main story of the drama was really relatable, for the society we live in. The story showed real feelings and made me emotional, even though the story was a little confused.

The music collaboration was on point, I really hope the songs get released.

But if I had a choice of watching it again. I rather choose Soundtrack #1. The story and the character development and how they avoid their feelings for each other .

Oh well that's that

I guess I was turned off after watching the first episode. The female lead
because of her hang-ups about her not being able to play the piano. To her
in my opinion belittling the male lead because of his dreams. Who she seemed
to think we frivolous and no way compared to hers. Then there's the second male lead.
I guess he served as the purpose to get the two leads together in the end. I felt nothing
romantic between the two characters and any thing they tried to make it out to be was just
uncomfortable to watch. He came across as like a little brother. I really didn't like
any of the female leads friends either. In the end I just feel she got back together
with him because he was somebody and now successful and wealthy. I guess some
might see it as she'd grown😒 but that's not what I saw. It would've been better if they'd
"the male lead" mainly had got some closure and moved on with someone else.

a sweet drama for in between

I think the drama, because of its six episodes, is perfect for a nice rainy day when you don't know what you want to watch.

The story is simple, but you feel for the characters.

You can certainly still change things in one or two corners, but that's always a matter of perspective.

The story of the main characters is a longer one, in which they lose sight of each other and sometimes think it is right, but sometimes wrong decisions are made.

At the end of the day you have to say that life doesn't always go smoothly and in my opinion this is also reflected in the drama.

The historical background with the music is a change and I really liked the song.

I think Soundtrack #2, but also Soundtrack #1 can be watched again and again if you just need something to switch off.

Did I forget to love myself while self respecting?

It all comes down to “who I am, what I want to be”. Before loving anyone you need to love yourself first with all your flaws.

Soundtrack franchise never fails to play with heartstrings. It's a realistic story of a dreamy couple who are only novice when it comes to love. They broken up several times to be in love again and again.

People can be frustrated with Hyeonsu’s character as I was but you have to understand that not everyone has the same mindset as ours. She's independent, strong willed person with lots of inferiority complex who doesn't know how to lean on someone's shoulder. She'll exhaust herself to death but won't ask for help. She doesn't like being indebted to anyone even a small act of kindness can make her uncomfortable cause she constantly need to do something in return of something. These type of people can be seen as complicated and extremely arrogant but I know myself that it's hard to trust anyone other than yourself. Carrying all the burdens with yourself can be tiring sometimes, until you realise that your happiness lies in the moment, if you lose the perfect timing it might not come back again.
Suho is such a good soul. When he loves, he loves with his whole heart. He only wanted to be the supporting wall of Hyeonsu, which she never leaned on. He tried his best to make her happy but when she was never happy with herself, then it's a losing game for him.

Breaking up this relationship worked as a mirror to them. The reflected on their mistakes and learned to be kind and supportive to eachother. And most importantly they learned to let go to live freely in order find peace within themselves.

Yes I might watch this series all over again just to remind myself to take life easy.

Give it a shot!

Cannot even compare the first one with the second one (of course because of Han so-hee and Park hyung-sik) but the acting was 10/10. Feel like the story little bit rushed, especially at the end. I don't know why people didn't like the FL, she is so cute and charming and did a very good job at acting. Her character is a little bit annoying but she really nailed to show how finding yourself is difficult. Also, the ML is so hot and freaking cute at the same time his acting was so good. I hope he will work on another project I will definitely check it out!!

Soundtrack #2

It was short and cute kdrama. I am also happy with who she choosed - yes love triangle, but it pretty normal, not some kind of fighting between male characters - so if you are not the biggest fan of this concept then it can still work out. As far as I like it I have to admit that I much more like soundtrack #1 - maybe cast worked better or just a plot, I do not know but I still think that this is worth watching.

This made me wanna watch Soundtrack #1 again.

The vibe and directing were super different, but this second iteration had the same simplicity and realness of the first one.

However, I do have a major gripe with it. Hyeon Seo's inferiority complex was such an important part of the story, I feel like more time should have been spent on her figuring it out—at least, the last two chapters. Su Ho totally captured their personalities in a nutshell when he told her he walked around with his head high, enjoying the stars and rainbows, while she was constantly looking at the ground.

Her inferiority complex was the defining factor in her breaking up with Su Ho after all, and something that was very intrinsic to her character and which she'd been dealing with for a very long time (tied to what the friend had pointed out about her being unable to accept help). I don't like how they rushed it and suddenly she was magically ok. I feel like those life changing realizations should take more time and introspection. It would have been much more poignant if it'd happened—even off-screen—while she was doing the Santiago thing alone, to kinda mirror what Su Ho had done.

A bit of a disappointing last episode, but I liked the series overall, and hope Disney will continue making more of them.

Fluff Over Conflict: Misses the Importance of Breakup Reconciliation

Soundtrack #2 tries to capture the charm and appeal of its predecessor but ultimately stumbles under the weight of the narrative choice it makes. The series hinges on the classic breakup trope. If you were to look up the term “narrative device,” the breakup would be a prime example, if only for the number of stories it allows characters to tell and the different ways those stories can be told. Yet what makes a breakup a breakup story is the different ways in which it can’t help but carry a character through any number of twists, turns, bumps, and slides along the arc of a narrative.
The most noticeable defect in the show is its demand to keep a light and fluffy tone. The series does not take the appearance of a breakup seriously. It is a serious matter, and just as in real life, breakups involve figuring out how to navigate conflict, paths of personal growth, and relationship complexities. Yet, Soundtrack #2 blows past these elements as if they are irrelevant to the story being told. The critical, and not-so-pretty, business of understanding the essence of the relationship and what led to its demise is sidestepped for a superficial cast of characters who seem to have it all, even after they don't.
In addition, the characters themselves show little to no growth throughout the series. Stuck in a perpetual state of dormancy, they occupy moments in time that simulate the significant past events that should have elicited emotional and intellectual growth in them. After all that time has passed he is the same impetuous, clueless person he was when he and his partner first broke up. The FL one the other hand is immutable.
At its core, Soundtrack #2 is a deficient sequel that doesn't even approach the "predecessor's" success. The show, in its plucky ambition to remain lighthearted, not only flirts with but also quite often totally ignores the heavy lift of its breakup narrative. The very nature of the matter being addressed—love (and its unfortunate sidekick, conflict)—is in desperate need of a meaningful guide through the blind alleys of character development, a direct path to an insincere, half-hearted exploration of the signposts and hazards along the way.

idea nice, excecution average

Soundtrack #2 (2023) - 8/10 kdrama

firstly they would do better if they named it differently. Aside of director[+ here aint only one as in #1] and some music theme this drama got nothing what would connect it to #1. They try ride on successful short drama just to make watchers disappointment.

Vibe and story type is different. Moreover chemistry is quite lacking[average]. Story about reunited exes was interesting, I could put up even with triangle which they forcefully got there. Still in these 6 eps they didnt managed to dig into it. I practically didnt felt any fear of FL ending with second male.

Only good points I can give is for FL... I liked her other dramas and got no much problems with her here.

plot - ML is workaholic rich CEO which ends up with medical troubles. As part of rehabilitation he ought to learn play on piano, but his piano instructor is his ex-girlfriend which broke up with him few years ago when he was still poor. Will these lessons heal even his old heartbreak injuries?

genre -romance
