A waste of an amazing cast with a poorly written script
What attracted me to watch “The Jungle” is its stacked cast. Look at all the handsome men and beautiful women! Unfortunately, that’s where the positive stops, well, it also has a few great songs. If you are watching just for the cast, then you will have an enjoyable time. The boys aka The Jungle have good chemistry and are fun together. They all look really good. Unfortunately, their acting is a mixed bag for me. The standout actors are Nanon and Krist. It’s my first time watching Luke and he’s the weakest of the bunch.
On the girls side, their acting is average except for Pat. Pat never disappoints. She is probably one of my favorites, if not my most favorite Thai actress. She doesn’t have a lot of screen time but she has presence and charisma. Unfortunately, this drama centers around guys, so the girls are mostly confined to the guy she’s attached to, and then you don’t see her much anymore.
But the writing is just not good. The romance stories are all half-baked. They are not mysterious enough, dark enough or sexy enough. Some scenes are quite cringey. Not enough time is dedicated to each pair, when we have so many pairs to share these 16 episodes. Most of the romances are typical and predictable. But they are easy to watch and won’t raise your blood pressure. But the ‘serious’ plots are so poorly written. In the first half of the show, we have reporter investigations of a certain death. The way it was conducted is unprofessional, illogical and unrealistic. In the latter half of the drama, it touched upon another ‘serious’ plot in a startup company where several of the main characters used to work. The way they approach the perpetrator in the last episode is laughable. There are just so many things that don’t make sense in this drama, and I only half-turned on my brain.
With such an amazing cast, the actors are unable to really perform to their standards. It’s such a waste of talent. I would only recommend “The Jungle” for the visuals and drool over the guys and girls. But you will need to overlook the cheap sets (that’s the cheapest looking high end bar I’ve seen), the poorly written storylines and the illogical, shake-my-head moments. I was going to rate this a 7.5 until I watch the final episode. So, a solid 7.0 for the cast.

Very Charming cast with flawed storyline
I am going to very honest and say it out here, in my opinion this show was carried by Nanon. The set up was very intriguing, a hidden bar with mysterious men offering a night of joy to women. Obviously they are playboys and handsome and also gentlemen in their own way. But the story for each character is not that engaging. My heart was taken by Naanfah and Naannam story and the mystery that was brought my Pine's pairing. I was not a fan of Hack and Irin or Florence or Nathee. Phetai's story could have been better because that pair had chemistry but they were very quickly wrapped up. But the bartender Hunter's presence is definitely very alluring, what disappoints but him is his very sad backstory. Actresses did a fine job but no one leaves a lasting impression except August.
Now the main reason to watch this is Nanon. I am soooo glad they put him in double role. Reminds me of Gun in Not Me. GMMTV know who their strongest actors are. And the way he play two characters well, you can recognise them easily by the way he carries each of them differently, expressions, smiles, way of walking talking and whole demeanour is masterfully done by Nanon. Both the brothers are kind of conman and liars and the way Nanon is using his smile is supposed to be illegal. Whenever he is on screen, he captures your attention over other characters.
Special mention to Mix and Off, because these two also did very well. I wish Mix had more backstory. But these two very also very convincing in their roles.
Watch this ! For gorgeous FLs and MLs, for charming bad boys falling in love and definitely for Nanon.

Sum up for all ML & FL
After watching the whole series, here are some review i would like to make for the couplesFlorence and Nathee
- not enough screen-time, wish that there is more scene for both of them
Nanfah and Pladao
- Pladao (Punpun) never appear in the end of the drama which i felt abit rushing in the end. Nanfah (Nannon) this character, in the beginning i feel like slapping him, but it turns out that he turn out to be a good lover so not bad.
August and Pine
- too draggy for last few ep. too much screen-time. like, Pine (Off) who love her, but don't wanna admit and want the best for her. then, August (Pat) also holding back which makes it too draggy (korean drama type)
Hunter and Emmy
- not enough screen-time also, which is a mystery for us
Nannam and Nithan
- i don't like Nithan (Mild)'s acting. feeling that these few years, her acting is not getting any better. or maybe its the character itself. As for Nannam (Nannon again) this character not truly bad. But both cast truly say no chemistry
Hack and Irin
- at the few ep, i just felt the Irin (Lookjun) just insist on getting herself onto Pine (Off). then the end ep, throwing herself to Hack (Krist). but Hack love her so, it makes a good couple afterall.
Phethai and Gale
- Phethai (Lee) and Gale (Mook) are basically old actors from my Dear Loser. Well, the chemistry is still there although they appear the in few front ep, its still a overall good acting as a couple.
*above is just a self thought conclusion for the couple in the whole series*

Ep. 8 -Nam and Fah
"I'm not you. You may think you love her so much to let her meet a better man. But for me, I love her so much that I want to be the best man for her.
Maybe it's because I don't love her as much as love myself.
Choosing to be with Nithan it's a way for me to love myself."

Hunter to Irin
"If it takes this long to destroy a wall in someone's heart, moving on from him may be less painful."

The Jungle is something you must watch from Thailand
The story line was really good. They're really exciting. The story of every cast was wonderful. The thrill was perfect! Every cast was really awesome portraying their roles. Their acting was convincing they're a perfect pick for their portrayed roles. Made a perfect matchmaking of partners and loveteams for the lead roles. The soundtracks was also good. Showcasing the casts singing skills is also good idea to catch audience's heart.
If I were to be asked, I highly suggest to watch this Thai drama. The thrills and suspense are awesome. You'll loved the twists and the suspense.

MORE
It was really good. The actors and the story. I wished they did more into Hunters backstory and where it went at the end or he should of came and hang out with everyone else at the end. They need to make a season 2. But I would tell anyone to watch this show. Overall it is a amazing show even if it felt rushed and foggy at times. I would say Mix needs more airtime on his shows and on this. But everyone did a amazing job with the acting and the songs and story. I hope they get more shows together.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
