Not really bad
I actually enjoyed this one overall although it isn't exactly impressive.I don't quite have a great reason for my enjoyment. Perhaps it is because of the likability of the characters, perhaps it is because of the great looking actors playing the leading roles, perhaps it is because the execution is pretty decent in general.
Muyeong's belief that his love for Seon Ho is one-sided is portrayed sensitively even though the situation could be clichéd and even silly. The flashbacks to Muyeong's experiences in high school help to make him a character we can feel for. Of course, the fact that we know that Seon Ho is attracted to him too makes the scenes quite lighthearted. There is something to appreciate about how the series is generally lighthearted without degenerating into utter banality.
Perhaps the most disappointing part of the series is the last episode. The main couple did end quite well, but while the characters have been generally lovable, Seon Ho suddenly turns a little toxic in the last episode, threatening Muyeong that he (Seon Ho) would never see him again if he goes off and look for his friend. Muyeong's friend, Jun Seok, is also a little off character in the last episode, suddenly becoming a little manipulative. Additionally, Jun Seok is an interesting but underdeveloped character. His feelings for Muyeong are hinted at fairly early on, but the ending does not leave one satisfied.
Despite its flaws, this isn't a terrible BL series. It is likable but the story is somewhat weak.

Main leads interaction was funny, but there's almost no romantic chemistry between them. They looked uncomfortable during skinship scenes. Their lack of communication is so silly. They're adults they could've just talk it out, but instead they keep assume the worst and lying, it's kinda frustrating. Then the ending was also really rushed. It feels like there's few parts went missing.
I like the comedy, PD lady, and the OST.
The PD lady definitely the character that got me through the whole show, she's just really funny. Btw the flashbacks part was good though, it gives a good explanation of the characters.
Overall
I thought I'm gonna hate it, because most of the reviewers says it was really bad. But after watching it... It was shoddy, but not that bad. I probably won't rewatch or recommend it. But it was entertaining.

Promising start that rolled to disappointment
The first episode was fire, I loved it. I laughed a few times and the story seemed interesting. The second episode started to feel ordinary and by the third episode I just kept watching to not leave it incomplete.I understood the story but not the way it was conveyed:
-If the assistant liked him from the start why would he act so cold and have so many conditions to take the work?? You could say the character was shy but I really don't understand, he was the one who supposedly wanted the work yet it didn't seem like that.
-The glasses guy has been friends for 10 years and he notices his feelings when the assistant finally confesses to the artist?? You could say it's a love triangle that adds spice to the story but I just hated the non-consensual kiss and the numerous calls from the hospital, playing with the assistant and all that manipulation is a no for me.
-The misunderstanding with de Pd and artist's relationship?? Now I really couldn't stand this. The artist says he is single and has been for 3 years already, the Pd gives them finger hearts and leaves them alone... Yet the assistant decides on his own the artist is straight, dating the Pd and doesn't like him. I understand dramas have some misunderstandings between the leads but this was just too ridiculous.
Still I gave it a 7 because I found the Pd's character and the scenes at the cafe funny. Also I will say it again, I understood what the director/producer wanted to convey but I think it wasn't properly presented.

Oh! Wasted Potential
I was excited when Briller, Ko Chan Bin in real life, posted a BL teaser on his Instagram. His character from Love Revolution was my favorite. The first few episodes was pretty good since I do like the new BL concept that revolves around comics. However, the plot is too simple, childish, and a red flag. How can someone never stop pursuing a person who they know (even though it's a lie) that they're already in a relationship. When the writer asked his assistant to break up with his current boyfriend, I got shocked considering that it is not the way that his character has been established. Their confession conversation was really off. It is obvious that they're not facing each other and someone has been a replacement during the shoot. It isn't executed well.
Despite that, at some point, I can relate to them. Those lines; "I don't even have a reason for a heartbreak," and "We weren't in a relationship, why does it hurt so much?"
I guess it will be okay for now since it didn't take much of your time to finish the show. I was just feel disappointed that the potential is there but they failed to be consistent and deliver the script in a smooth and nice flow.

Wow I couldn't decide which couple I liked better??
In general, I wasn’t expecting the series to be this entertaining, but gosh, I really enjoyed myself. This series of misunderstandings and overthinking was presented in a quirky, light-hearted manner. The show also doesn’t devolve into the standard “i-don’t-like-men-it’s-only-muyeong” trope, nor does it create lots of drama in the entire process of discovering one’s sexuality.
But wait. There's also a love triangle! This could have been the premise of a different show or spinoff, so it would have been great if Oh! My Assistant had more episodes to flesh this out.
I’m glad Junseok as a character wasn’t made to be a total asshole for the sake of having an antagonist. I quite liked Junseok tbh, and I could see Muyeong being with either the goofy Seonho or the intense Junseok. Actually, by the last episode, I couldn’t decide if I was rooting for him or the male lead more.
Verdict: Needs 16 episodes instead

The stor and all was good....but it kinda jumped at the end...i haven't read the webtokn so idk if they skipped smthin...but a lot of scenes feel cut offthings i diskiled
I really do not understand why muyeong said that he already has a bf when the uthor confessed...(I mean if I use my own brain....muyeong had in mind that Lee and the artist were dating and even tho he already has a partner...the artist was confessing to him so basically muyeong thought that artist is a Playboy so he rejected him..but this part was never mentioned in drama instead..read below.)
in the episode..now idk Korean I was watching sub...so when the author confesses to muyeong, in the sub muyeong says ..."I hope he doesn't know how I feel because I don't want to hurt him"...wtf??? that guy just confessed to you and you are telling if you say I like you too to him he will get hurt.??? what man??
then it's the typical a girl enters and there is a misunderstanding...now I'm not against misunderstandings occuring in drama...but in this case I feel it was carried on for too long which made me kinda irritated
and then in ep 7 ig when the artist confesses...it just felt too weird..like idk how to describe it but I didn't like it
and what I hated the most is the artist telling muyeong to break up with his "boyfriend"...like altho muyeong and junseok weret ctually dating...acc to uthor..they were dating..and it was very wrong for him to confess to muyeong nd practically force him by asking to break up w his current bf..like what kinda dogshit is tht??

Zero chemistry
Super “mid” showI think this would have been such a cute drama if there actually was chemistry. So many dramas I’ve watched people are like “there’s no chemistry”, but here it REALLY warrants it. I don’t think the two actors had even high-fived before the filming of this, because there seems to be like visible disgust with any sort of contact.
Combined with the fact that overall the acting is okay, it’s just the chemistry is so off, the overall experience just goes down hill severely.
I would watch shows like semantic error instead, if you have nothing else to watch then maybe, but it’s really not worth it.

So really really really really liked this series, but it was really really really really too short. I wanted so much more. I really fell in love with Seon Ho the character. So genuine and so cute. Right? I really didn't care if Mu wound up with him or not. I was so in love with him I just wanted to see him on the screen every second. Anyway, yeah, I didn't care too much for Mu the character, but I did like the story of him falling in love with Seon from a far so many years ago. The entire Soon thing was way too forced and that could have been developed out fully and actually caused a lot of great tension. See above too short comments. The last few episodes did seem a bit anti-climactic and not enough warmth or joy from either character. I do hope to see Soun Seung Hyun in another series very soon. What a sweetheart! 7.5 is way too low for this series. It's a solid 8.5 if not more. Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Noioso
Trama gestita malissimo, storia noiosa, banale e scontata.

Please read the original webcomic
I /READ/ Oh! My Assistant a few years ago, and it's actually one of the best BLs, like ever. The feel of it is just very healthy and informative, and it has mature content without straying from the feeling of two loving men. It's funny when it needs to be, and real when it needs to be. For Asian BLs, this is actually somehow very difficult to accomplish. But the drama..............I've just never seen something with such poor pacing in my life. Everything goes by way too fast with too much plot to back up the characters, who have very little development and flat personalities. It's funny, but again, it just goes so fast that it fails to balance humor with plot with angst with fluff. You're not really rooting for anyone. They cast glasses-guy WAYYY too attractive for his character (yes this is a complaint) and overall just something that's not worth watching. Really killed this wonderful story and lovable characters for me. It's like they made this drama just to disappoint and piss off fans, because there's no way this is even comprehensible for those who went into it blind.

A Happy Surprise
I'm really puzzled by all the negative reviews. Korea has always lagged behind other Asian countries in the BL Genre and "Oh! My Assistant" stays faithful to being pretty conservative, but this drama proves they're catching up. As expected, the production values are first rate and the quirky direction is absolutely wonderful. It was also refreshing to get a departure from the "two guys in Engineering school" cliche. The camera loves Song Sung Hyun as Soon Ho. His charisma just lights up every scene. Mu Yeong's character was a bit subdued for my taste, but I suppose it's fairly realistic for a shy guy. I wasn't expecting much from the third character in the love triangle, Joon Seok, played by Lee Do Ha, but this turned out to be a wonderful, three dimensional character with, perhaps, the most moving performance in the piece. I should also point out that even at 8 episodes, this drama never felt padded to fill time. I'm curious to see the movie edit. I'd love to see this director travel to Thailand to shoot one of their less timid BL dramas with the high level of Korean production sensibilities.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
