A Solid Story, An Amazing Cast

What A Ride! Definitely On of My Favorites.

NOTE: If you have not yet watched this series, and are looking for it on YouTube, look for every episode before you get vested. In total, 3 of the episodes, including the last two are extremely difficult to find. I am hoping this series will be picked up by Viki or Netflix, etc. because I am not sure I will be able to find it again. Very disappointing to have to search for an episode in the middle of a series, but some of the youtube videos listed have been removed.

By the Same Writer as Manner of Death, the story is exceptionally well done, with lots of twists and turns.

After watching a couple of episodes, I thought the time loop thing was starting to get monotonous, but right about the time I was wondering if I wanted to keep watching, other things started to happen - and did not stop throughout the series. Honestly, I binge watched this, I plan on watching it again in a couple of weeks, so I can pick up any nuances I may have missed.

I really only had one criticism of the series - the portrayal of the "so called Angel". He certainly was not a "guiding light". His character was apparently cast as a combination of arrogance and humor, whereas a bit of sympathy and encouragement would have suited "an Angel better". I get that the character was necessary, his personality was not, and it grated on my nerves a bit - here are so many persons going through trauma, and this Angel doesn't seem to care. Not enough to lower my rating, because compared to most bl's out there, this one is a definite must see.

As far as the ending, it did feel a little rushed - still it ended with fast twists and turns - you will know what I mean when you watch the last episode. Enjoy!!

Brillant Story

Triage wins the "best Plot" award of 2022, and I'm already writing that down for when I do my "Best and Worst of 2022" list later this year. Wow, what a freaking ride. From beginning to end, the audience is thrown into the life and loops of Dr. Tin, who fights to save the life of a man he deems irresponsible when they first meet. Triage is a deep and tear-jerking drama that deals with a complicated plot in the best way I think I've ever seen done in a BL series.

Let's Dive In.

Triage was directed and screen written by the same amazing man that make "Manner of Death" in 2020, with us even getting a few cameos with the leads from MOD's themselves (which at the end, it may imply a season 2 or a spinoff of both series combined). He did the same thing he did over there, which is to focus more on the storytelling and the overall appeal of the storyline than the actual BL of it all. And I think it works pretty well in this, except for the fact that Tin and Tol's romance isn't as strong as it could be. But no wonder why Triage is as heart-wrenching and as thrill-packed as was in MOD.

There is just no plot like this one. Tin has to continue going through loops until he can save Tol's life, on top of trying to see if he can save the other's lives around him. It's magnificent. At first, I was scared that with so many different conflicts going on in the series, it would leave plot holes or forget key details, but it never wavers. We get the complete story of Rit, Mai's mom, Dr. Sak, Dr. Doi, Fang, etc. And nothing felt rushed or last-minute, it was all told with very keen detail and in a timely manner. I think the best part is when you, as the audience, finally got enough detail to put two and two together and you can figure it out as Dr. Tin does. I also like that they switched things up and made Tol fight to save Tin's life. Everything was crisp and clean, fun and entertaining, and as perfect as it could be.

The character development in this is so good. Literally the best part. Tin is this very stoic man who hates drunk drivers after his accident with his sister, and he doesn't appreciate his life as he use to until he's put into this predicament where he has to learn the value of living and surviving and we see such growth in him that it's very obvious by the end. Tol is almost the same way, with him being very brooding and harsh, but through all of this he learns to be kinder. Growth is evident in each character, Mai, Heart, Rit, Gap, Sing, Fang, literally everyone. And even some not-so-good growth that we see with Dr. Doi when he goes crazy.

Moving on to the romances in the series, let's start with Tin and Tol. Now Tin has to continuously see Tol die in every loop that he goes through, and the only way to get Tol to not drive or "drink" is to get closer to him, and even come up with the conclusion that Tol needed to fall for Tin so that Tin could get him to not drive, or not do too much to his heart. It's the perfect setup for a deep romance - imagine falling for someone and having to have them fall in love with you all over again and again -- seems pretty harsh, but the premise of it all is genius. But I think it was probably the weakest in terms of plot. Their first kiss seemed a bit off-putting since we only see Tin trying to stop the incident from happening and not so much trying to get Tol to fall for him. I feel like there was only one real moment in which I could really feel the connection and the yearning to be with one another, other than that, it kind of fell flat for me. The ending is satisfying though, and I loved seeing Tae and Tee as a paring again.

Moving onto our other side couple, Gap and Sing. Due to the loops, Gap and Sing end up together during the last loop, so we get to see them being pretty cute and domestic. Before then, Gap just had a very minor crush on the doctor, and Sing was pretty much just a straight-up asshole who didn't know how to go about his feeling for Gap. In fact, I think it was a bit too harsh for me to wish for them to be together. If anything, I was rooting for Gap and Rit for a while since it seemed that Gap brought down his stern walls to really open himself up to Rit. But in the last loop, they were pretty cute, so I'll give them that.

All the supporting characters did so well, even down to the ones with very few lines. I loved Toi and his supportive and energetic aura, Jinta was by far one of my favorite characters, and he pulled the cynical, yet helpful angel role off perfectly. Dr. Doi is so evil that I practically loved him. He falls so much into his schemes with Dr. Sak that he goes insane. Perfect. Art was the cutest, and I really wish that they would girl Mild another leading role. For the characters that I didn't really care for, would maybe have to be Heart and Mai, or really Mai's story in general. Of course, without her, there wouldn't be any plot, but I couldn't understand why Tin was interested in saving her mother when it wasn't necessarily his responsibility. Save Tol and move on. I could say the same for Win and Lookprae.

Ratings:

Story: 9 - Very crisp and very detailed. Nothing was left out, everything was covered, and it moved in perfectly formatted waves. I think the romance of Tin and Tol (even Gap and Sing) could've been better, so I'll take a star off.

Acting - 8.5 - Everyone did great, but Morris (Jinta) and Tae (Tin) stood out the most. I think Gap's actor was a little weak at times, and so was Mai's. But overall, acting was one of the better parts of Triage.

Music: 7 - I didn't really pay attention to it, so it was there.

Rewatch Value: 3 - definitely something I could rewatch if a season 2 is to happen.

Overall, a very entertaining watch, and I look forward to a hopeful season 2. I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a complex plot or something action-packed.

5 reasons why you should start watching Triage right now!

You probably came here wondering if you should watch this series or not and let me tell you:
you should definitely watch it! I will tell you a few reasons why:

1 - The plot is great!
This is just not your standard bl, the plot is unique and the story is so well developed!

2 - The acting is amazing.
They did it right with this cast. Never once I felt the acting was off. Besides that, the main actors have great chemistry!

3 - Mature and interesting characters.
You know when you are watching a show and the characters are so childish and annoying that it just ruins everything? This doesn't happen here! I enjoyed the role played but Tae a lot! Tin is is smart, caring and nice. I wasn't expecting to like him this much!

4 - 2moons
If you watched 2moons you might have felt frustrated that we didn't get that many scenes with Beam and Forth. This series will fulfill the romance the deserved and needed.

5 - If you enjoy medical dramas, this show is for you!
It is noticeable how they paid attention to the medical explanations. Throughout the series, there are explanations of diseases and medical procedures. You can tell they tried to be as accurate as possible.
So if you like romance mixed with medicine this is it!
Also, if you liked hospital playlist, you might like this one!

It was so close to being so good...

Tldr; First ~10 episodes--Fantastic. Last ~3 episodes--Hot mess.

The Good:
- Great characters
- Real chemistry between main couple
- Interesting time-loop storyline that for the most part is handled really well
- Gets better with every loop and keeps you on the edge of your seat
- There's a lot more going on behind the scenes that slowly but surely gets revealed as you progress through the show
- Genuinely unique and interesting storyline

The Not So Good:
- The ending was absolutely rushed; they bit off way more than they could chew in 13 episodes.
- Major plot points that appeared at the beginning were never touch on in the end
- Copped out at the end with the antagonist and just having him "go crazy" as opposed to actually having an ending with some substance
- They made some weird choices with how they wrapped up Tin and Tol's relationship at the end (it's still a HEA ending, but they really dropped the ball on a lot of things)

All the Thoughts:
I'm so sad the show finished the way it did. It legitimately had such great potential, and the first 10 episodes were great! The show got better and better with each loop--the characters were well thought out, and you could see both the individual character growth and the relational growth between characters--not only between Tin and Tol, but their relationship with others as well. The relationship between Tin and Tol developed really well, and they had really good chemistry together on screen. By the time they were officially together, you could clearly see a deep bond and love between the two of them.

As for the storyline itself, like I said at the beginning, it was SO CLOSE to being SO GOOD! It had a unique premise with the time loop, and the story had so much depth beyond the surface of "Guy goes back in time over and over again to save his lover." There was so much more that was going on behind the scenes, and it was really cool how interconnected everything was and how they teased it out from episode to episode and time loop to time loop.

But, unfortunately, the show really fell apart in the last 3 or so episodes, especially the last two. They really tried to do way too much all at once. It was like they bit off more than they could chew, and when they realized they still had all these things to tie up and only had two episodes to do it in, they just shoved it all in and said, "Yeah! That'll work!" And it just turned out a mess. The characters were making blatantly stupid decisions (especially considering these were supposed to be *adults* with freaking *medical degrees*), such as not calling the police or just running headlong into danger when there were *clearly* better, safer, and much more effective options. They also really copped out at the end with the antagonist, just making him "go crazy" as opposed to doing something substantial with the organ trafficking storyline--which is TRAGIC. They had SO much potential to do something with a storyline that I've never seen in any other bl, and it touches on a major issue that is prevalent throughout the world. But instead they just landed on him going crazy, which was so disappointing.

I was also not a fan of how they wrapped up Tin and Tol's relationship. Again, like a lot of the rest of the ending, it was rushed, trying to shove too much into too few episodes, and you had to overlook a lot of stuff that just didn't make sense or was never actually explained. This was also so disappointing, because like I said earlier, up until this point, their relationship had been developing SO well, and the chemistry between the actors was fantastic. I just wish they would have given the two the ending they deserved. They also really dropped the ball on issues they made a big deal about in the first half of the season, but in the second half, they were just never mentioned again, which was also frustrating.

For setting being in a hospital, it was really nice to have it in a unique place that hasn't been touched on in very many bl's. If you have any kind of medical knowledge, you definitely have to overlook a number of things that are clearly done incorrectly or overly dramatized, but I don't think anyone's coming into this show with the intention to learn about the medical world. But it is nonetheless really nice to be outside of a Thai college (mostly).

So, all that to say, I enjoyed the first ~10 episodes tremendously, but, unfortunately, the last ~3 were an absolute hot mess. Am I glad I watched it? Yeah, I am, but I'm also really disappointed the ending didn't live up to the rest of the show.

Your first impression of this show is likely wrong. Please watch it!

I was sceptical of this medical drama because time loop stories aren’t really my thing, and it seemed overly convoluted/repetitive from the trailer. But now that I’ve watched it, I just want to say: I WAS WRONG. SERIOUSLY, GO WATCH TRIAGE.

Triage sees the return of Tee and Tae, whom you may or may not recognise from 2moons as ForthBeam (wow time really flies). They don’t look immediately compatible as a couple, and their chemistry was a bit off at the start BUT trust me, they will grow on you eventually.

The story starts off with Tin, a doctor, repeating the shift where he fails to save Tol, a college student who was wheeled into the ER. At 10:55pm, he pronounces the kid dead. He falls asleep, wakes up, and he’s back at the start of his shift. To get out of this loop, he has to make sure Tol doesn’t die. Sounds simple enough, right? WRONG.

Saving Tin is a matter of going back in time and undoing/redoing events that led up to that fatal car accident. But each choice he makes leads to different consequences, sometimes more fatal than the last. Beyond romance, Triage drives home the point that every individual is part of a wider system, hinting at the fascinating possibilities of events that could unfold if minor adjustments were made within each life path.

Despite the time loop/time travel plot, which sounds rather intense, Triage was never unnecessarily confusing. Best of all, the story was unpredictable, and kept me guessing the entire way. What a gem of a drama!

A Fresh Tale in the World of BL: BL+ Medical Drama + Time Loop

Triage offers something different than the usual bl setup (just like KinnPorche does). And as a fan of time travel or time loop concepts, I really wanted to watch this one ever since the teaser was released.

In addition to that, this drama is set in a medical background which makes it interesting. I liked the short film on this. All the performances are top-notch. Hoping the series gets better and better with each episode. I'm not seeing much hype on this. Hope it gets more attention from the BL fans.

I'm waiting for the rest of the episodes to give a detailed view.

Triage is a BL MasterPiece

I must say hats off to Sammon (Author of Manner of Death & Triage) because the writing in both series was really good.. but I did this post to applaud the stunning masterpiece that is Triage.. Tae and Tee's chemistry together is unparalleled and this show deserves all the flowers. Triage deserves way more than the terrible distribution TV Thunder has provided it with.. so I hope more people get to see and appreciate this masterpiece. Definitely Top 5 this year for me next to Blueming, Semantic Error, Cherry Blossom and Dear Doctor.

One of the best BL series all over the time!!

Great story line that keeps you curious and wanting for more episodes.

OST and music effects can be improved but the story and actors made up for everything. This drama didn't have lots of promotion and hype and I'm seriously upset why it didn't receive more love from international community. This show has one of the best story lines out there, coupled with a good cast I'm really glad I decided to watch this series.

The series is not overly sweet and full of fanservice and is from the same author as Manner of Death.

I actually think this show is best when you re-watch it because marathoning this series will actually make you realise how much each character has grown from the early episodes. (I re-watched all the previous episodes while waiting for new episode release)

Can't wait for the ending but I also don't want it to end so soon... I can already feel the emptiness once this series completes and I won't have anything to look forward to every Monday.

Trust Your Drama Guts

I took so long to watch this masterpiece and now that I have, I'm tearing up just thinking about it. It was so good. Too good. I was hooked all 13 episodes. I didn't fast forward a thing. the ending had me messed up for days. I felt like I lost a part of me when that series ended.

Not gonna lie, it triggers every emotion of you entire existence. I watched the entire series in like 25 hours. I'm very hard to please because I'm a humanities student so I tend to always be pointing out the scenarios that reflect in real life. Nothing seemed fake even thought it was a supernatural genre. the actors made it feel so natural and real, even when scenes kept repeating themselves I couldn't get tired. The acting was 10/10 ESPECIALLY the plot. very very unique plot. ofc no plot can entirely be original but this made it seem like it's the very first of it's kind. it 100000% worth it frl. I watched it this week and I'm just waiting a couple months to watch it all again. ☮️

Best BL of 2022

What a wonderful journey!
Triage is one of the few dramas that have managed to keep me in suspense until the end (in the BL category one of the very few)!
But let's start with the review:

STORY
10/10

I would like to say that it is the best thing about this drama. But since the actors were also exceptional, I can only say that it is a story that leaves you with bated breath until the very end. I understand some criticisms about the last loop and I too initially saw it a bit lacking compared to the ones before. But when I thought about it, I realized that this last loop is actually well done too. If you ask me, for example, if I would have liked to see how singgap got together? Of course the answer is YES. But the very fact of not having shown it to us further supports the plotline according to which every action has its own reaction. In this case action-reaction happened before and for this reason we found ourselves in a loop that seemed different from the others. I could keep talking nonsense about the story, but I don't want to spoil too much. I just want to tell you that it is a series based a lot on the plot ... and what a plot!

ACTING
100/10

I didn't know taetee before this drama (I had actually watched 2moons, but their part unfortunately never happened) but I can now say that it was a real pleasure to watch one of their drama. Tae was just amazing, he carried the first 10 episodes all on his shoulders (they were all very Dr. Tin-focused episode so his performance shined above all the other) and he was a great discovery to me. While I was waiting for the new Triage's episodes I also watched paint with love with him and Singto, his ability to play such different characters really struck me. But the thing that surprised me was Tee's equal skill. The last loop, on the other hand, was very focused on Tol and Tee did a very good job at keeping the level high. But this vote actually goes to the whole cast because they were all very talented

MUSIC
10/10

Honestly I don't usually care about the soundtrack, but even the music in this drama impressed me! The song used in episode 4 during THAT scene gave me the chills even before I really understood what was going on

REWATCH VALUE
10/10

I rewatched this drama before the end while I was waiting for the final episodes. What a journey! The first time will always be the best for me, but to rewatch it calmly and discover the many details they have put into the drama and finally understand a little bit of the plot is an incredible feeling!
My advice is to watch this drama at least twice.

DISTRIBUTION
2/10

I basically lived in the triage mdl tag so I saw this question very often "why is nobody talking about this drama? Is it not good?". First of all, me too rely heavily on the level of satisfaction of the people I follow, if they like something and they rec it to me I usually always give it a try. But since nobody was talking about Triage I started it in a moment of crisis when I didn't know what to watch (thank goodness I did!).
The main reason why this drama is not famous is very simple, there was zero marketing aimed at international fans and we only had two hours a week to watch this drama legally. The producer has really lost a lot of money by not betting also on interfans when they had a drama like this on their hands, but on the other side Triage is very famous in Thailand. They simply made a choice (which I don't agree with?), but if they don't want to do it I'll say it for them "PLEASE WATCH TRIAGE!"

FANDOM
10000/10

A small section of this review goes to the loopers too.
Very few of us watched it live in the beginning (and neither have I been there since the first episode), but this fandom was amazing, full of nice and intelligent people.
It was a real pleasure to watch Triage with all of you❤️

To summarize it: watch Triage, I swear you will not regret it?
