Bleh
Ok so first I gotta say I had a bit of a hard time finding subs so some of it I was kinda winging it. The story is there but I somehow couldn't get into it much. Keep in mind these are new actors, but that doesn't mean it's technically 'bad'. It seemed a bit low budget but it has some realistic points that either made me happy or sad lol Not gonna lie, I laughed more than I should have with the fight scenes LMAO. I'm not really sure I'd recommend to anyone based on how little it interested me but if you want something simple to kill some time and surprisingly not too cliché, I'd give SSN a shot. I think there was a pretty good amount of chemistry (between friends and lovers alike) which obviously always helps a series. I think it's rating is pretty accurate for the most part.Enjoy...

Really recommend it, So different, cute and funny!
I'm so hooked!! Never thought I could watch a Thai BL that is different from all most known Thai BLs by GMM TV and LINE TV which casts the same actors in every series and just switches which gets to be the main couple.Siew Sum Noi is so different and I'm loving it, finally some actors in a BL drama that I haven't seen a million times before. All the actors are different for me, the vibe and story are different, not another drama in the heart of Bankok but in a village in Northern Thailand and they speak the dialect of that village, sing musicals and folk songs from that village. I love the main couple and side couples, their chemistry is amazing and they're all so cuteee.
Usually some of the acting in Thai BLs makes me cringe, but loved the acting in this drama. So much comedy, laughed in every episode till my stomach hurt. So much jokes, and comedy. So much good things about this series. I highly recommend it!
I love everything about this drama except for Ruk's dad, he's a total douche. IG's mom is so funny and awesome, she's kind of a fujoshi lol.
Some people call the music and songs in this drama "weird" but these are people who can't appreciate others' cultures, these are Thai village style songs like how Korea makes Trot songs which I also enjoy and love.
I hope to find more good Northern Thai BLs!
Just finished watching it and I really really really loved it! That Isaan village dialect is kinda hot lol. I bet people who call the songs and "soap/musical scenes" in this series as bad or terrible are kids born in the 2002. I'm a 90s kid but I can appreciate different cultures. Just because a song is cultural and "different" from what you're used to doesn't make it a bad song. I'm so glad they're preserving the culture of Northern Thailand. I found all the couples so sweet and darlings, and the boys from the "God boys gang" are so cute and funny.
IG's mom os so hilarious and sweet. Laughed a lot, I'll definitely rewatch this.

Came for the BL stayed for the Storyline
I really didn’t think this was going to be a good Drama, but the first thing I noticed is the music was terrific. It had me shimmying all over the place, and the rest of the drama kept the same strength as the music. The theme or OST can make or break the drama. Everyone is hot or a cutie pie. Was the acting Oscar-worthy? No, but you can tell there is a connection between these people. This drama is worth a season Two and maybe a spin-off or two, but that is for you to find out, not me, To tell you.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Music
It was a nice surprise to hear some raw thai music ,it made me search the songs online , their lyrics feel real, close to the reality in the country side . I might be wrong but it felt fresh to hear something other than today's music. Some say it's low budget but to me it's about the message, about acceptance, tradition, fear to be different , fear of not being accepted by family and community and last but most important, about love .I hope this series and others like this one reach those who need to see it .Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Fun series with music and comedy
I enjoy the series for the most part. IG and Ruk are cute together, my favorite couple was Gui and Petch. It showed character growth and nice to see the development of the different relationships. Love how the characters showed different parts of themselves. I enjoyed the lighthearted comedy and the singing was fun. Was not a fan of Ruk's father as he is overdone as an angry person most of the series. I was happy that we got to see the mom and grandmother bring heart to many parts of the story. Love how all their friends always had each other's back. Was fun to see some of the friends find relationships and support each other in all the different situations. A lot of ups and down with the story but was fun to see where everything went between school and vacation. Overall it was enjoyable, the girl from the neighborhood who was obsessed with Ruk was not needed. I was also very bored and annoyed with IG going back and forth with the girl when the girl was playing both IG and his friend. The ending was also very confusing with IG saying he was leaving to become a music Star, need a better understanding of the ending. For me, the ending was poorly done.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Dead fish kiss country musical
In a gist! LOLComing from the makers of campy, silly and highly enjoyable Love Poison, SSN is another offering featuring Isaan, the region, the language and the music!
The story is nothing original: your ordinary enemies to lovers in high school while playing football and singing!
Ruk comes to Bangkok from countryside Isaan on football scholarship and immediately clashes with IG, school and internet star. They are friends with a group called Good Guys Gang within which there is another couple in the making, (friends to lovers trope) . During school break they discover they originate from the same region where they both go for vacation. There, their respective brothers (cousins?) are in a relationship they are hiding from everyone. Relationships are created and undone and afterwards they all go back to Bangkok to finish the school year. The misunderstandings are eventually resolved, there is overall acceptance and they all live happily ever after. The usual BL plot format!
Cue in, the musical part where these couples all suddenly burst into song expressing their love for each other. Read the lyrics of these songs, they are hilarious :
"It melt, melt I want to swallow you whole"
"The economy is bad, my house is in trouble"
"Wanna feed your dog and cat, just order me to do so"
"In Bang Khae you help your mom sell chicken rice"
The guys can barely sing, it is bad but the feelings are there and they are really invested in it.
The support characters are a colorful lot: the all accepting and understanding fujoshi mother, the authoritarian and funny grandma, the macho set in his ways father, the girl childhood friend who wants to be more and cannot, the ex girlfriend who keeps going back and forth. And the comic relief Good Guys Gang! As if the series was not funny enough!lol
The main characters are all the usual high schoolers: immature, high on hormones and thinking they are invincible! I did not like the height difference (another one of my pet peeves!) between Ruk and IG but they had decent chemistry.
There is a lot of kissing in this series: there are so many accidental kisses it became hilariously ridiculous. Unfortunately the majority of kisses between Ruk and IG, even when consensual and not accidental, are cute but frozen in time dead fish ones. The other couples go at it with gusto: not these two!
A fun watch, though not as good as Love Poison! It might be also that the novelty wore off pretty quickly as well: the first time was amazing, the second serving of the same is not as amazing. Production is low budget but they managed to make it look nice, nothing exceptional but nice.

CLICHE PLOT, MEDIOCRE ACTING AND WASTE OF MONEY MAKING THIS SERIES
The whole school themes BL series nowadays is somewhat tiresome and repetitive. It only works with seasoned directors and actors, a good example would be "be my favorite", "Enchante", "HIStory:Days of our lives", I could go on with all this good examples but you know my point is.I think this series is a low-budget given the fact what kind of cinematic they've used and the actors they hired. If I am not mistaken, this actors are new to the industry. I mean what the hell is the casting director doing?? Is he/she BLIND?? Not for insulting but they can cast better and more I would say "sell-able" face.
The plot is worst, acting is mediocre, the setting is cliche. Just because BLs this past few years exploded in popularity means everyone will appreciates just "any" story. This one in particular doesn't even have the essence of a good series. It's like slapping a paint on the wall without considering it's purpose.
I am surprised that it garnered 7 points rating where it should have only 1, sorry for the fans of this series but I've seen a lot of BLs since I can remember and I've seen better, I've seen worst and this in particular is not even in the middle.

Engrossing entertainment
This series is free currently (March 2024) on Dailymotion with EngSub.It's BL but mixed with drama, humour and music. It's very entertaining and was very easy to get hooked on from Ep 1.
The story is there to provide a vehicle for the relationships, comedy and music. The characters are interesting and likeable.
The settings are a school football club in Bangkok and an up-country village which the boys come from. This gives the opportunity for Esaan dialect and singing. The songs are very catchy and sometimes there is dancing as well. In the last episode they sing and dance to the title song. It's obvious that the cast genuinely enjoy it. There are at least three BL couples with friendship turning to love, but the two side couples get very little time. For the side couples it's mostly kept light and fluffy with lots of teasing and smiles. What is nice is that there is a lot of hugging and sympathy among the characters. In the later episodes the two leads are often hugging believably. One is tall, the other shorter. The shorter one Ruk (played by Champ) is very masculine and cute at the same time. This combination reminded me of Pun (played by Ryu), the lead boy in You Are My King 2. Both leads are probably a few years older than their characters, which is usual, but they both have noticeable facial hair (close shaved). Even so, the acting engages your sympathy and you want the boys to have a happy ending. You are not disappointed.

A HIDDEN GEM
M so lucky to have come across this drama. It's so UNDERRATED! Although it was a school based BL, it was uncommon. I haven't come across a similar fake bf to real bf BL drama. The cast was really lovely. The main couple, unlike most BL couples, were not just lovey dovey at all times. I loved the combination of fierceness and cuteness in them. The second and third couples were incredibly cute. The friends were silly and funny. Not that funny though. What was totally different was, usually we see dramas based on city life, University life, etc. But here, it entirely focused on the country life and their culture. The songs were good but the fact that the charecters starts singing out of the blue in the flow of emotions was funny and gave the "Bollywood vibes". It's rare to see that in southeast Asian dramas.Overall, it was entertaining, and definately can be re-watched.

Is this really a musical? Ugh...
I have nothing against musicals, i love them, but this one had the same 3 or 4 songs playing again and again at every giving chance. Not saying that they are bad, but it gets tiresome to hear it every time. I'm in no way saying that this is a bad drama, far from it. It is entertaining, has a cute plot of kind-of enemies-to-lovers, a goofy humor, nice characters; just the plot of homophobe parents that is something that i am tired of seeing and completly overused, but, still nice to watch anyway.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Without having any expectations, this series actually surprised me with its sweetness. Looks cheap and modest impression, for me this series managed to beat TharnType 2 which incidentally has a fairly large promotional fund.
I feel This series more like my redemption of Nitiman which I thought could be one of my favorite series of this year. But turn out, made me down deeply :”
Another great thing of this series comes from their opening and closing soundtrack, respectively. A Northern Thailand-style music is kinda dopey, it’s remind me of dangdut music from Indonesia. lol
