Seven Lives, Same Love
Imagine living seven times, falling in love with the same person each time, and then one of them dying EACH TIME.The OST was a-mazing, but why is it every cdrama a character gets hurt they cough up blood one time like…?
I enjoyed this. Some of the lives were just too long such as the second one, but I loved the animal life, the last one… I think I enjoyed it more when there was fewer episodes during their tribulations.
Also, I loved their friendships. I’m glad Zihui is okay and I would love a side story based off these characters with everybody making an appearance. And you can tell Chukong loves Cang Hai so much. I love his character. And he’s FINE- he almost looks like the spitting image as Neo Hu who played Tianyo in Back from the Brink.

Seven Lifetimes of Love
IQIYI’s highly anticipated wuxia drama “Love You Seven Times” recently finished its run and I’m still spellbound by the storyline. Adapted from the web novel “Yi Shi Chong Dong, Qi Shi Bu Xiang” (一时冲动,七世不祥) by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang (九鹭非香), the show stars Yang Chao Yue & Ding Yu Xi in the indomitable roles of the God of War Chu Kong & Empress Cang Hai. The storyline begins with an uncanny meeting between our main couple (in the present), where Chu Kong is trying to cure his damaged primordial spirit. Chu Kong had supposedly sacrificed half of his primordial spirit to vanquish the evildoer, Empress Cang Hai, in the past. If you are questioning the logic between pairing a protagonist and an antagonist, that’s where “Love You Seven Times” does a double take and gives you an effervescent love story that spans across seven lifetimes. The show (true to its name) has seven different settings and timelines where our main couple reincarnate, face various tribulations and return to the Heavenly Realm. Distinctly intertwined with these stories is the backstory, which dates back to 30,000 years where Moluo’s were the most powerful clan and Empress Cang Hai was the “Ruler of the Six Realms”.Read the complete article here-

Good xianxia drama
I started watching this mainly because of Ding yuxi after watching his white cat legend drama. This is the story about love between a fairy and God of war .The story though starts off in Marriage Pavilion in heavens,it quickly proceeds to the entanglement between the ML and FL,after which the both of them set off to their tribulations.
There is a suspense and mystery waiting to be solved which has been buried for 30,,000years.
I liked the mystery segment and the way how it was solved.I can say this is the best part of the drama.
All the seven lives which they underwent were interconnected to each other and also helped the main protagonists in solving a heavenly mystery.
Ding Yuxi as God of War is impressive. As i already said, his acting skills are good.
Yang Chaoyue was also good in her role.
All the other actors, sets, costumes were good.
You will not feel disappointed after watching this drama though it proceeds on a lighter note but may not impact you on a higher note emotionally.
Overall a good drama to watch.

Enjoyable watch, but not lifechanging
If you're looking for a sweet heart tugging drama with a medium level of angst, then this one might be the one for you. Ding Yuxi is one of my favourite actors after watching several of his dramas and he def lives up to his acting skills in Love You Seven Times (LYST).STORY:
I feel like the story was relatively well written, good pacing and each tribulation had its own story that added to the overall Heaven Realm plot which I liked. I grew to love the characters more with each tribulation they went through and enjoyed the angst as it was a small amount and didn't drag on like 10 episodes like other dramas do. A good story can balance the happy and the pain, and I feel like LYST did the job. The only downfall I feel in the story was that the pacing of how they took down the bad guy wasn't spaced out correctly, and could have been way more satisfying but the other aspects of the story did great.
ACTING:
Ding Yuxi is phenomenal in this series, every time he cries I feel a gut retching pain inside my chest and I feel all his emotions. In their second tribulation when he cries over Xiangyun his eyes are so bloodshot and it really moved me. As for the female lead, Yang Chaoyue, I feel like she definitely still gives off rookie vibes. especially in the first half of the drama. I agree her acting needs some work but I feel like Ding Yuxi carried a lot of scenes so it balanced it out. However I feel like she played Cang Hai way better than Xiangyun, and her chemistry with Ding Yuxi during the 30,000 past arc was ON FIRE and I really enjoyed her character there. Maybe because I feel like Cang Hai's personality fits her real personality more so it looked very genuine. Shout out to the guy who played Zihui because my drama tingling bones are telling me his gonna be really popular soon.
MUSIC:
A few of the soundtrack songs were amazing and gave me chills, but the OST they played during the scenes where Chu Kong summons the (bull?) I feel like didnt fit and sometimes when he uses his power I feel like the song is too modern. Otherwise it was still good!
OVERALL:
I enjoy a well written drama with decent chemistry so I feel like this one I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall I would give it a 8.5/10, which is pretty good considering I'm pretty picky with my dramas. Can't wait to see more of Ding Yuxi's work in the future!

Beautiful and Pure Love ❤️
First, I wasn't sure whag to expect going into this, I love xianxia shows, and I've seen all the stories from the novel writer, and enjoyed them, so i wanted to give this a try, though i was sooo nervous going in, because i thought it would be very heavy and angsty. But...It really wasn't as heavy as i was expecting, each lifetime and romance was so well writtten, it was great seeing them in different roles and yet still would do anything for their love with no previous memories of anything.
As the show went on the love grow, so many tiems when i was expecting something bad... it went the other way, it was more heavy during there trial, which i liked that they didnt bring too many drama after each was done.
The acting of the ML was phenomenal, he did such a great job in each lifetime role, one of my favorite acting was the lifetime where he was a cat demon, his acting was very different from all the other shows I've seen him in and it was great seeing him in that role. The FL acting was pretty good as well, i think if anything for her to improve would be her crying scenes and her eyes, but there were times where she showed great acting in her roles, especially in the cang hai role, you can see a clear difference and in the princess and general role.
The leads had really good chemistry, ive seen other say they lacked it, but even though the kisses were many but not as (deep 😆), i thought they did well together and after finishing the show i can't imagine anyone else in their roles. They belonged together, they loved each other and it got evident the more you watch the show.
The only time I felt a little like (jeez this is long), was the second lifetime, which was the longest. (SML was also a nuisance then too 😄), but after that... it was all so interested.
If you want to watch a sweet, beautiful, amd pure love story and you're a sucker for those things like me, i think you'll also like this.
Usually i always end up reading some spoiler and it spoils it too much, and i end up not finishings a show (that's what happen for till the end of the moon), this time i decided to stay away from all that and watch it on my own.
The OSTs... amazing!!...😍
Minor spoiler ahead
There was a mention of a time loop, which shows up around episode 30-31... of you didnt understand (like i didn't) there is a discussion right before the comment about that thoery, but I'll only read it after watching up to episode 31 or when you're done. It truly helped me to understand more about the lifetimes etc. You may not need too, but just incase you feel the need too.. 😊

Rated= 6 ~ 25/50 ~ 5RPG Scene // Fairy buzzing around my head on the Mountain Pass. Trying to swat them with an axe.
For my review of White Cat Legend, I hated the cgi cat face and paws and gave a description of what I would have preferred, and damn, I love being right 😂I got a little bit of it in this one. He looked great 👍
Plot - I find some people hate the Immortals going to the Mortal realm plot so the creators of this one laughed and added several mortal realm journeys as the entire point of the plot lol
We open with the story of a great evil empress, Cang Hai who was defeated by the God of War and now there is a prediction that she may return. Our God of War, the ML, is isolated and moody. His primordial spirit was damaged in his battle with Cang Hai, and he suffered memory loss, and has gone to the mortal realm for numerous different trials in an effort to heal it but nothing has worked. With the prediction that Cang Hai will soon be resurrected by her vengeful clan, he agrees to the trials he hasn't tried yet. Love Trials.
Enter our FL. Once a cloud, she was brought to form and raised by the Red Thread Master, the master of the Marriage Pavilion, responsible for match making in the human realm. Our FL is coerced into taking on the responsibility of finding a woman to go through the love trials with the God of War or the Marriage Pavilion will be destroyed. She auctions this role off to the God of War's many admirers to raise funds and in the process of tying the red thread of fate to the sleeping ML's wrist, accidentally gets tied to him as well, thus beginning the trials.
The first trial is accidental, short and funny as they take the form of a tiger and a pig, which becomes a running theme throughout the show.
Each life is different, furthering the romantic plot. The 2nd life or the first 'official' life is the longest running, starting in childhood and going through to the characters eventual deaths. Each life gets progressively shorter in episodes as we start building the momentum.
Back in the Immortal realm, the leads eventually find out that by the FL sacrificing her life for the ML, she is giving him her own primordial spirit as they share the same origins. This leads us back to discovering what actually happened in the famous battle with Cang Hai and who the real villain is.
There is an interconnectedness that I really liked within the plot. As some characters keep reappearing in different lifetimes, casual mentions of previous life characters to give us a sense of time between each life, as well as a side plot unravelling with a secondary couple. It feels like one big web and I like when writers do that as it creates connections between the different segments and helps the flow of the story telling when you are using several very different characters, environments and backgrounds.
We see an array of sets and designs in each life, from middle class life, sects, royalty and demons. And each one with it's own aesthetic that mirrors the lifetimes of the characters.
Unfortunately, I found at times, the plot dragged. The thing is, I felt like the pacing was fine. The first life had to be the longest because it was the one that built the feelings the ML had for the FL. But every time we got back to the Immortal realm, I felt like the writers had hit a wall. There was a sudden drop in momentum. That's the problem with using several different stories to create one larger one. The viewer spends time getting wrapped up in the mortal realm arc that when we go back to the 'real' plot, we almost feel like what we just witnessed didn't matter. Although there is some essence of history repeating it's self, there's nothing more than the romantic element. In one life, the FL commits suicide knowing that the ML won't be returning from battle and decides to just say 'hey, I'll see ya back at home'. This hurt my feelings a little bit. The first one dealt with this well, in that yes, they return to the Immortal realm but the mortal lives they lived will be forgotten. The body dies, the person ceases to exist ever again. There is importance placed on their earthly lives but then after that, they just forget about it. Afterwards, there was perhaps too much of a casual approach to the mortal lives.
There was also a joke about cooking a pet pig for dinner. Not cute. I was very annoyed. The little pig lived but was forgotten once that life ended.
Another reason for the drag brings me to my next point.
Acting - Ding Yu Xi has beautiful, cat like eyes, and a very expressive face. Unfortunately his co star, our FL, is not quite on the same level. I only call out actors when they stand out specifically and I'm afraid Yang Chao Yue stood out for all the wrong reasons. Her character started off with that really annoying, pouty, childlike voice that Chinese actresses are sometimes made to do. Thankfully as the character evolves, she loses it but she is severely lacking the 'umph' to pull off the emotional scenes. I was actually skipping through her death scenes, scenes that were meant to be emotional, were just really grating my nerves. She was more annoying as an actress than as a character, and that doesn't happen often. I was drama kid, I can give actors some room to grow but wow, this just felt awful to watch. I haven't seen any other work from this actress so I'm willing to make it a directional problem but there were just too many times where her portrayal just felt so wooden and dry, like she was on her 100th night of a touring show. The emotional crying scenes were painful, like a child pretending to cry for attention. Ding Yu Xi managed to counteract this with his own quips and quirks to keep me watching but he shouldn't have to and that's just sad as a performer.
Music - I quite enjoyed the music to this one. There were two specifically that stood out. The dramatic one and the bah dah bah one that played during the cute moments.
Rewatch - The romance in this isn't particular intense and the kisses are simple, which may have contributed to the feeling of drag for me, when we returned to the Immortal realm. It feels as though, even though the leads have had lifetimes together, the romance never leaves that teenage phase of hand holding and promising to be together always. It is however an enjoyable watch but I did skip scenes so I'm unlikely to watch it again.

No matter where you are, or what you have become I will always find you in every lifetime.
I started watching this series because the drama is adapted from a novel written by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang . She is the same author of the novels of Love between fairy and devil, Back from the brink and The blue whisper. I absolutely loved all the three dramas and when I heard that another novel of hers got adapted into a drama I immediately decided to watch it. So, I have already read the novel and I can say that it's quite different. I guess I am not surprised since this has been the case for back from the brink and the blue whisper too. But regardless of what others say, I personally liked the drama a lot more than the novel.Reasons to watch:
1. Their unwavering love trust understanding and devotion towards each other. Both the male and the female lead unconditionally love each other and is willing to sacrifice their own life to save the other.
2. Lots of cute and romantic moments between the leads. For me this was a good blend of romance, comedy, action, adventure and angst.
3. The female lead is absolutely no damsel in distress. It may seem that the fl is weak as compared to the ml but that's not the case. She has wits and doesn't cower away when it comes to the safety of her loved ones. Also, they added a backstory to the main leads which was not there in the novel. It was to add the element of mystery to the drama.
4. Main cp were a lot more affectionate than the novel where they quarrelled a lot.
5. They added quite a few side characters to add depth to the story but except for the sml no one is annoying. And even the second male lead redeems himself in the last few episode that you might actually like him in the end.
6. Anyone who watches it carefully can figure out some the parallels between their lifetimes. So it was fun predicting what is about to happen in the future.
7. No matter what the haters say, this drama had quite a lot of screen time for our main cp as compared to some other popular xianxia dramas. It was only in the last 2-3 episodes that they got less screen time.
8. Lemme spoil it, every one got their own happy ending.
9. The cast did their best especially the male lead and the villain absolutely slayed their role
Cons:
1. A lot of people were saying that the fl cannot act. For me, she did pretty well. Her crying scenes were the only part where I felt a bit of improvement was needed. But she's young and I believe she will definitely improve in the future.
2. The first few episodes felt a bit draggy, because their first lifetime involved a lot of politics and the sml's scheming. But it quickly caught up around episode 12-13. In the end, I felt the main villain took quite a lot of screen time with his schemings but ig that was to show how evil he already was and how he was willing to commit even greater atrocities because he was greedy and had inferiority complex.
3. A last minute happy ending. Even though I am satisfied with the ending but it would have been even better if they managed to show us a few more glimpses after they reunited or at least focused on the male lead more. BUT THE ENDING PROVIDED PROPER CLOSURE TO EVERYONE and that is what is satisfying to me.
4. They chopped out a lot of scenes but you can actually find all of them
Also the cgi and the ost's were pretty good. Whenever the bgm called emotional vocalization was played, it made the scene so much more powerful.
SO NO MATTER WHAT THE HATERS SAY, IT'S STILL A 10 OUT OF 10 FOR ME

Seven Dramas in One!
I was looking forward to this drama for many months. I read the book partially and didn't finish it because I wanted the ending to be a surprise.I can't compare the ending of the drama to the novel obviously but I will share my thoughts on the drama as it's own.
The Main Leads:
Their chemistry is amazing. They have many cute and adorable moments both on and off screen.
The Story:
It's an amazing concept of finding one's true love again. However, I feel that may an extra 30 mins, a episode or a special clip would give a better insight about the ending-It's not confusing but as a viewer, you want a proper closure and not just one where everything wraps up in 2 mins with the leads.
I think this is a problem not unique to this drama but Cdramas as a whole. That's why I gave it a 9.5 stars when I've been giving every episode a 10 star up until the semi rushed ending.
The OST:
There are some nice OSTs in this but I don't know their names. Without any spoilers, my favourite is the most dramatic sounding one so guess it.
The Shengling Duo:
I just wish we got more time with these two on screen together.
Endurances:
You have to endure the annoying prince aka Xiu Ming. This guy is handsome but I don't want to be distracted in the drama plus I didn't like his character but I did feel sorry for him once or twice.
I couldn't care about Jin Lou's love story tbh.
Would I watch this again? Probably
I just wish there was more episodes for each lifetime because honestly, each lifetime would've been epic as a separate drama.
I am so looking forward to watching this pairing in another drama.
Lastly, to all the people who bullied YCY for her acting, she has improved and just because you are behind the screen, it doesn't give you the right to do that. Critic, yes. Bully, no!

the headline is just perfect the plot it just perfect.
I love the chemistry in them this couple should do more acting together they are so comfortable with each other but still waiting for happy ending the music is also my taste the music match with the movie so much I would rewatch this if it has a happy ending the story is just amazing for them so many kissing in each tribulation also every tribulation end with sad ness and mess but I still have it they try to hide their feelings even tho they still show it,CK in the white outfit and white hair is just my type, the outfit that they give CK THE ML is just perfect for him it matches him so well they also give the FL out the also matches with her she so pretty and everything she just matches the role, the age gap (in the movie) is just to much not my type she 47 younger than him overall was just perfect.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

7 lifetimes
Really love it, currently my favorite cdrama. I'm so addicted by the characters each lifetime. No boring episodes, the chemistry of the cp is so good. I can rewatcg this after it is completed. I love the cast too. Hopefully they will have another drama together. I jusg love them so much. Hopefully this would not be a tragic ending, Chukong and Xiangyun deserves happiness after those tribulations they've gone through. Also, the villainous characters did their job because I was really annoyed at them. LOLEsta resenha foi útil para você?
