I'm lost in 'time'

I should start by saying that Xianxia is not my thing. However, I read the reviews and they were pretty positive; plus, the cast of actors was appealing too. So, for the most part, I have no regrets. It was difficult to follow the timelines sometimes, but that was not really a deterrent.

I like Xu Kai, love Liu Xue Yi, and Leon Lai. The FL was ok in her role - but looked a little young for a 'Chief God' - and I really wasn't convinced of her development from carefree, silly girl to bad-ass God. The supporting actors were pretty good too - the evil ones really did a good job, especially the Heavenly Queen and her bitchy, overindulged daughter. Liked the romances along the way and wished that everybody could have had a happy resolution, but I guess that's how it goes - you win some and you lose some. The fate of alter ego lovers Qing Mu and Hou Chi was heart wrenchingly sad but so beautifully done, and acted out by the ML & FL. The OST was hauntingly beautiful too.

Overall, it was a good watch, but I don't think I would rewatch simply because of the genre, and I found myself fast-forwarding through a lot of the war scenes and 'cultivating' scenes. I did have a hard time following the time lapses and figuring out how the lifespans play out: who live forever, who reincarnate, who die, and how those processes work in that world.

BEAUTIFUL xian xia & #emotional roller coster. Recommended !!

I definitely think it deserves high rating not 10/10 but close 99.5% . It is close to TMOP ,dream pillow standard with different insights of xian xia aka fantasy world.. instantly caught my attn right frm 1st episode , the interactions make me laughed , baique character is mysterious as he was the coldest of all. Female lead draws question mark of her being the youngest, most pampered , most highly ranked yet most incapacitated , with her mischievous character & strong sense of justice.

The drama sees her grow into a capable, strong leader that put her people needs ahead of her.
The story plot gets me fun moments, touched, sad , teared. I couldn't have cried more for even the side characters in other drama
Many of the characters got some screen time n development whether for good or worse.. and strong character shines like feng ran, the good yue mi. The scenes are very beautiful, actors great acting esp when look at they play multiple character/ personality .. HC serious , SG playful, kinda little girl but both kind, amazingly loyal , brave, tough

The stand out about this drama is the #Contrast. Life is never easy for any1, tests and choices come at certain point of time or a number of times. Some people will destroy everything for their desire/ unrequited love/ greed/ power while others will give everything to protect & stands for justice, peace & love <3 It really bring a lot of emotional coaster.
Love strong Feng Ran , loving jing jian , adorable Qing Mu, icy Bai Que but melted by FL, super daddy GJ !

Ohyea saw a lot critisism on FL, with "Ugly" really she is not the MOST beautiful even in the drama, i think is intentional . Maybe the novel/script FL wasnt that beautiful but ugly is too judging.
The beautiful WH yes beautiful but does she have a beautiful heart?? Capable ppl ?-many but giving or taking? powerful ? are u doing right things with yr power n responsibility.
I think these are the strong messages behind this series.

Worth to watch

I love this drama. It made me cry and fell in love. Especially, with the characters portrayed by Xu Kai, who was the main reason why i watched the drama. Anyway, watching this drama will made you fall in love the characters of Xu Kai. The story have lots of twisted part which i found very interesting. From the songs that have been played in the background which i kept on singing everyday because, it made me cry of some parts. Overall, i want to recommend this drama, it is totally worth to watch. Great actors and actresses, intimidating characters and story. Definitely, one of my favorite c-dramas. 😍😍😍

Life of Gods

This drama basically is focused on the four true gods assisted by other gods in their duty if protecting the world,even at the expense of their life.
Zhou Dongyu,the chief goddess Shang Gu,gets trained under true god Bai Jue,and transforms herself from mischievous goddess to a responsible god who even self sacrifices for the well being of the world.Dongyu's acting was good.Especially I liked her part as the responsible chief goddess and how she commands the gods .Though major part of the drama is laced around Hou Chi,another life of Shang Gu when she sacrifices herself,I liked her role lifetime as Shang Gu more.
Xu Kai played the role of Bai Jue,another true god ,who is very dedicated and focused on protecting the world.His acting is also good.
A special mention to Jenny Zhang who played Wu Huan,the main antagonist of the this drama.She is the perfect epitome of betraying her master,scheming against the gods and even putting the whole world in danger.Her acting was on point and perfect.
All the other actors were good.
This drama shows us that being a god may bestow us with invincible power but also comes with many duties and responsibilities which sometimes puts ones'life and interests in danger.
Finally,good always triumphs over evil!!
A decent watch.

what about acient love poetry? the best in my opinion after eternal love of dream. each episode of this drama sticks me on the computer screen and I can't get tired of watching it, each episode is a different emotion out of nowhere I think it's funny, I'm ashamed, then I'm crying and finally angry. I love actor xukai so much for me he is one of the best after vengo. The ost of this drama is without a doubt the best I've ever heard. who didn't watch it, then start watching it because I swear you won't regret it.. THE BEST XIANXIA DRAMA OF 2021

Amazing drama that I can't move on from it and wanting more of the leads to be starred in another drama together gosh I am so inlove with Xu Kai after this drama, and Dongyu made me a fan of your smile its very pleasing in the eyes.

Acting wise was perfect
Xu Kai and Zhou Dongyu are perfect for this role.
The supporting cast did an amazing job.

Story wise was amazing
Indeed a heart wrecking lovestory with amazing ending (very satisfied no need to be longer)

Music wise
It was 10/10 IT IS THE BEST OST FOR ME
I mean come on all of tracks are matched scenes every moment it is the perfect tracklisting for me.

Don’t judge the drama by it’s cover

This is my first time ever reviewing any drama in any platform but I had to sign up to to give this drama the score it truly deserved. Like a lot of peoples I avoided watching this drama because I initially didn’t like the actress but after reading some of the comments I gave it a try and glad I did. The acting were great and CGI were beautiful and superb. I was surprised at how big the budget and production were for this drama. After a few episodes the FL grew on me and I really enjoyed her acting and the drama as a whole. The storyline and plots were intricate but clear and easy to follow. The actors/actresses, writer, and producers put in a lot of effort and did a great job. DON’T LET OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS DETER YOU. Give it a try and you won’t regret it. One of the best C-drama in 2021 in my opinion.

When I first saw the trailer first trailer for Ancient Love Poetry, I felt that it was similar to Eternal Love, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms with the three lives theme. Since I started the drama especially when the Houchi and Qingmu arc started, I felt myself anticipating the days that new episodes would air. After completing this drama, this has become my favorite drama, eclipsing Eternal love and Love and Redemption in my heart.

I really liked the characters of Shangu and Baijue and all of the supporting casts. The love story between the leads were great, and I especially enjoyed the friendship between Baijue and Tianqi. It was refreshing to watch a drama were close friendships endured and no backstabbing due to jealousy happened between the friends.

I highly recommend this drama. Everything about this drama, from the story, acting, ost, costumes, cgi were exceptional.

Excellent fight scenes along with crazy good CGI + Story was dragged so much!

I have decided to finally watch this after so much spoilers from youtube through previews and such.

What I like about this drama is that the Female Lead holds the highest rank among all of the Gods and I just love to see women being treated with high regards and technically reigning. Another thing is the "not-so-toxic" drama plot it provides (Which is also the reason why i gave it a low rating. Non-toxic turned bland).

Something I'm not in favor and kinda dislike about this drama is the way the story has became bland at around early episode 20s. It has become less impactful and lost its colors and taste in a sense where I even thought of dropping it IF it continues. Thank god it didn't!

I love watching AvenueX on YT and the main reason why i didn't watch it right away even after topping the weekly charts is because she drop it after watching 10+ episodes and I kinda understand her reasons for doing that. I even understand her even better after finishing it.

Nonetheless, A good drama that can provide great satisfaction when it comes to fight scenes and retaliation.

P.S. CGI is insanely good and I often replay most of its fight scenes on YT because it is that good.

Story - 8.5, Could've been better but they chose the rough and long path that ruin this drama for me in a lot of sense. Redemption part is that it's a happy ending and it's reasonable? in a lot of ways so does explain my given score.

Acting/Cast - 10, The Main Leads and Supporting Actors are great. I barely notice anyone with bad acting among the mains and such but I hate that Injured Fox girl. Thank god she got eliminated halfway.

Music - 10, The music on this production is REAL GOOD. Something I must say that stood out for me.

Rewatch Value - 8.5, Will definitely not watch the entire thing again but will surely binge my favorite parts. This drama got a lot of satisfying scenes that can get anyone addicted to it.

Overall - 8.5, I felt like I'm still being kind for giving it this score but it definitely didn't deserve anything lower. CERTAINLY not the best but not the worst as well. It has its own redemption parts and its fair share of ups and downs.
