One of the BEST SUPERB C-DRAMA I've watch BUTTTT.....
I really love this show, This drama have that k-drama quality like it's SUPERBB and that's what I like about it because you can't see it on other c-dramas. Now let's talk about the plot. The story is quite nice. A childhood friend from the past that loved you for 10 whole years. I have mixed feelings about Jiang Jun (A.K.A The FL) Yeah, she tryin to pull of that "strong independent woman living in the city alone" vibes that's cute but what I don't like about her is that SHE NUMB. Like SISSSSS can't you feel anything!? Imagine Du Lei LIKING HER FOR NEARLY 3 YEARS and she doesn't feel it until ML said it to her then realize DU LEI IS ALREADY OBSESSED WITH HER. (Im sorry for the spoiler LMAO) She tryin to pull that strong independent woman but in the end of the day ML always saves her. Im sorry hun that ain't cute. What I really also don't like bout this drama is that THE SECOND COUPLE IS ANNOYING. Yeah, LITERALLY ANNOYING! ESPECIALLY THE GIRL Xu Li or what ever her name is (she the best friend of FL) she's literally clingy and immature to be in a relationship. She quit her job for what? To chase the boy of her dreams. (Doesn't suit my feminist a**) Li Xiaochan (Brother/cousin of the ML) however is very typical nerdy, univ boy. HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY PERSONALITY ( Eye-roll intensifies) I found my self skipping a lot of parts of them tbh. IM SORRY BUT THEY RUINED THIS DRAMA. Now to the supporting characters, IDK why they did Du Lei so bad in this drama, he fine but towards the ending it's MEH. Why you gotta make my dud like that!? Linda her sis tryna pull "clueless" like love story (a.k.a step-bro love story thing) but failed, it's quite weird IMO lol. Ms. Qiao is my fave character towards the end don't ask me why. That's a lot of negative for a 9.5 rating IK lol sorry, but now let's talk about the positives
1.Cinematography,clothes,quality- As I said earlier it's STUNNING the quality is just SUPERB I LOVEEE ITTTT.
2.Chemistry-Love the chemistry between FL AND ML. Even Ml and Du Lei can make a great couple LMAO
3.Cast- Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu portrayed their characters so GOOD. Luo Yunxi is so handsome I can't- He looks like Ji chang Wook and Johnny Orlando combined. And the girl have that massive glow-up (She was the Fl on Lucky's First Love and they did her bad in that) Supporting characs did also a good job.
4.Plot-It's GOOD okay? To be honest I wish they just make it into 24 episodes. But it's good even if it's 36 ep. it didin't bore me.
5.Kissing Scene-I SWEAR THE KISSING SCENE OF THIS DRAMA IS ELITE. CAN YA'LL JUST WATCH THIS DRAMA FOR THE KISSING SCENE PLEASE? I bet you will not regret it. Other c-dramas have that type of kissing scene where they just peck then don't move their mouths AT ALL whereas this drama, THE KISSING SCENE IS SO GOOD I wonder if it's real because of their high level chemistry.
6.MALE LEAD'S CHARACTER- he ain't like other man in Chinese drama world. HE HAVE PERSONALITY AND IS VERY SWEET INTELLIGENT. He carried this show tbh, made me watch it becs of him.
Favorite scene/ep. of this drama are: Eps 22,26,33.
-The elevator kiss from ep. 22 made me blush hard Its gave me Fifty Shades of Gray vibes.....
-The office kiss where they freaking kiss underneath the table and where they make-out inside the office of yuan yuan? SO HOT IM EVAPORATINGGGGGG
-Their first time!? Im just like watching like 👁👄👁. So hawt I can't LMAO- anyways it's the WATCH for me (wink) gives me wattpad vibes ahhhh.....
-The part where yuanyuan meet the FL'S mother, SO CUTEEEE!~
-The part where they fought because of work, health and private life. (My favorite part because it tackled about the reality of being live-ins) That's why I LOVE THIS DRAMA SM despite the negatives BECAUSE IT'S REALISTIC.
The OST's are adequate, Love that the music is in English tbh.
I will surely re watch even if it's 36 eps long.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS DRAMA ONE OF THE BEST I SWEAR YOU WILL NOT REGRET WATCHING IT. MUST WATCH! ESP IF YOU LOVE OFFICE LIKE DRAMAS. SORRY if my review is bad it's my first time :D

A Sugary Sweet Romance Story...
Love is Sweet accounts the tale of emotionally sensitive and hardworking investor Jiang Jun ( Bai Lu) , who after landing a place at MH firm, runs into her old childhood friend Yuan Shuai ( Luo Yunxi) , now one of her conniving bosses determined to make her life a living hell. As Jiang Jun tries to guide her new career between work and making allies with the sudden arrival of a new friend from a rival company Du Lei ( Gao Hanyu) , Yuan Shuai’s secret feelings from his youth are rekindled again for Jiang Jun, as Jiang Jun finds herself more and more bamboozled by Shuai’s actions. As you may have guessed, Love Is Sweet is filled with all the cliches and certainly isn’t what I’d typically define as “ original” or “ unique” in regards to a new concept for a Chinese drama. From high school crushes, boss and worker / cohabitation romances , excessive product placement ( looking at you Burberry ) and the “ older woman and younger man” tropes, it certainly does beg the question what on Earth is the point of watching a drama which has been seen and done before a million times.
Going into Love is Sweet with zero expectations ( and certainly seeing this concept done incessantly in Chinese Dramas before ), one of the things which immediately clarified the answer to this question for me, was its ability to hook you as a watcher from episode 1 ( despite the tropes) , something which must exceedingly be praised as a consequence of relationships between characters and of course the cast‘s acting abilities . None is this more shown than Bai Lu’s portrayal as Jiang Jun. Whilst I will be honest that Bai Lu didn’t entirely tread new ground within her new portrayal as the “ workaholic, independent woman” trope, yet, she did perfectly capture the essence of a successful, yet hardworking and emotionally- driven businesswoman (something which I wish some Chinese dramas would portray more in romance dramas rather than the “ airhead “archetype ). In addition to this, there is no denying that Bai Lu’s chemistry and the scriptwriting for her character was approached in a refreshingly modern manner to her romance with , Luo Yunxi’s character, Yuan Shuai.
Again, the relationship between Yuan Shuai and Jiang Jun has been seen and done before a million times in Asian Dramas, but, the one thing which did impress me in a more realistic manner ( and no, we are not talking about Shuai’s aftermath of excessive product placement in buying her gifts ) to their relationship rather than the “ tight embrace; do or die ” approach of most asian dramas, was that refreshing respect and obstacles within their relationship as two working individuals. This was shown particularly throughout the drama by ; the distances sometimes their jobs presented within travel, the occasional arguments and the respectful distance that the characters would take as well as respect of privacy ( well, in most cases),and of course ,Yuan Shuai’s refreshing speech near the end of the show, where he tells Jun that he will respect her choices, just as he hopes that she will respect his. Undeniably, this is something which was brilliantly portrayed by Bai Lu’s costar, Luo Yunxi, who took upon the role as the smart yet love crazy businessman brilliantly, and a portrayal which I hope that Asian Dramas seek to explore more often.
Like with all dramas, however, there is the dreaded cliches of love triangles without respect to the characters’ contrasting personalities in a forced manner, particularly through Du Lei ‘s sudden transition to feelings for Jiang Jun and of course, Jiang Jun’s supervisor Qiao Na ( Zhao Yuan Yuan)’s “ feelings since she knew him” cliche for Shuai. Whilst thankfully the show didn’t dive into the oldest trope in the book by putting Qiao Na and Du Lei together, there was still a lot of inconsistently with the love interests here for the leads; not least destroying the friendship between Du Lei and Jiang Jun ( with little redemption either ) and writing off Qiao Na’s feelings in order to make way for the relationship with Jiang Jun and Shuai by pairing her with a younger lead by the end of a drama. Whilst there was certainly nothing entirely wrong with deciding new love interests both characters, the way this was done demeaned a lot of unnecessary time in the show apart the obvious “ spanner in the works of love” trope, which took away a lot from both these characters as individuals.
On a more positive note, I was mildly surprised by the emotional depth behind the build-up of the relationship between Jiang Jun’s best friend Xu Li ( Shane Xiao) and Shuai’s younger cousin and technology genius Li Xiao
Chuan ( Riley Wang). Playing upon the overrused cliche of the “ older, slightly ditzy” woman and the “ younger, attractive and cool- headed” boy, it was inevitable both leads would end up with one another through the “ opposites, attract” scenario, yet, what did surprise me was that rather than the female lead entirely chasing after the Male lead, the show reversed the old trope by providing the Male lead being in the female lead’s shoes later in the show; as shown with his jealousy when Xu Li is “ being hit on ” by another guy. Whilst there are a couple of criticisms I do have within the portrayal of Xiao Chuan’s controlling nature over Xu Li at times during later scenes , it was a surprising reverse on the trope to see a level of depth to this cliche.
Overall, it’s fair to say that Love Is Sweet doesn’t tread on new ground with overrused tropes, product placement and inconsistencies for a romance drama. Despite this , it was a surprisingly enjoyable show within watching our two leads and our side couples slowly developing over the course of the drama without toxicity and often realistic mutual respect in their relationships , something which I’d hope more Asian Dramas will be able to portray in the future.

Excellent chemistry against a backdrop of corporate intrigues
Unfortunately, I watched this show on the heels of Dating in the Kitchen, which in my mind, is the gold standard for Chinese drama/chemistry/romance, and a show that generally has it all. I've heard good things about Love is Sweet, so I decided to give it a try, hoping to continue to feed my romance fix.The only thing I'm going to give away is that he's loved her for years. I always love that in a show. They meet up again and are, rather than friends, antagonists.
Leo Luo is the male lead and he's terrific. Always impeccably dressed, powerful businessman and extremely handsome. As when they were kids, he also bullied her in the workplace, but I felt that it was to better her performance at work. He, behind the scenes, always took care to make sure to protect her.
Bai Lu (Son Ye Jin lookalike, if you ask me) as the female lead was good as well. One of my favorite lines was when someone was looking at her and she said something to the effect of "People tell me I look like Bai Lu, have you heard of her?" A little tongue-in-cheek humor never goes amiss.
As a couple their chemistry was wonderful, but once they got together their romance took a back burner to the office intrigues, of which there were a lot. I found that aspect of the show to be very drawn-out and boring. Them admitting their feelings and acting on them was hot/hot/hot for a couple of episodes, though. There was the obligatory time jump, but it happened with about 6 episodes left, and their lives had settled and become pretty mundane. I think this show would have benefitted from tighter editing and less episodes (about 10 less!)
The costuming was good, especially when they were dressed in formal wear. The buildings/sets were visually interesting, as was the soundtrack. As with so many other Asian dramas, I was obsessed with the jewelry.
I never did enjoy the secondary couple. Though I have liked Riley Wang in other things, and he was good enough in this, I didn't feel they had any chemistry and she was a little too immature and stalker-ish for me. I kept hoping for some improvement, but it never materialized for me.
The female lead's allergic disorder was mentioned and addressed time and time again throughout the show, and then completely forgotten at the end, which I thought was a cop-out. I mean, c'mon, who wouldn't cry at that proposal?!?!
Everyone got their happy ending, including, to a certain extent, Du Lei, who was really a scumbag, but maybe he really did give up his wicked ways.
So, though I can recommend it as a show worth watching if you don't mind the multiple, endless and convoluted storylines, if you are looking for strictly romance, this one falls a little short.

sweet indeed but not so interesting for me
Leo Luo and Bai Lu's acting was great. However, there's really nothing unique or special about the story. It's the typical seeming cold hearted powerful male lead loving a kindhearted female lead.
There's also a sidekick best friend and second male lead that fell in love with each other.
I fast forwarded most of the latter episodes because the story was getting predictable especially the last one.
There's also the 'accidental kiss' that happened about twice.
Watch this if you want unwind from stress.

GIVE ME IMMORTALITY
I am having a really hard time finishing this show. This drama is way too long and does not need to be over 30 episodes long. The plot is very repetitive and most of the writing does not make sense. This drama starts off very strong, at first, I saw no problem with this show, I really liked it and it kept me very engaged. However, after about episode 10 or so the story just became the same. You could honestly go into this show and pretty much pick any episode to watch and you would not be missing much. What really triggered me about this show was the build-up to the two leads getting together. Them getting together made no sense. She went from hating him in every episode because he teased her too much to all of a sudden liking him. Jiang Jun's attitude towards Yuan Shuai changed from being at odds with him to be in love with him in the span of about an episode. I was really excited to see how their relationship would develop and blossom into one where they were dating, but that just did not happen. The two leads are supposedly perfect for each other but don't really get along until they quite literally are told that fact. It does not make sense. This drama is very predictable and cheesy, which was fun at first, but now it is just boring.
As much as I love Luo Yunxi, I find it really hard to like his character Yuan Shuai. He is very toxic and teases Jiang Jun to the point where it is bullying. His reason for teasing her is out of some sort of protection, but even that does not make much sense. Bai Lu's character is confident and likable at the beginning of the show, but then she just gets annoying.
The relationship that they have does not work for me. I do not believe that they are perfectly compatible. They make these over-the-top expressions towards one another and it really does not work, it is not very cute. Both Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi are phenomenal actors and the script they are given in this drama is just not letting them express the full potential that they have. I have seen Luo Yunxi in "Ashes of Love" and I know how great he is at acting out tough, emotional scenes, but so far, this show really has none that actually means anything. Luo Yunxi's acting abilities far exceed what this show is giving him to work with, it is honestly very frustrating.
I would not be able to tell you much about the side romance between the guy who has a dating app and the girl who stalks him because after watching their plot for a couple of episodes I decided it was not worth it and skip every scene with just them two, it just is not worth it. Her character is very annoying, annoying to the point where it is forgettable and unbearable to watch, it's not realistic at all.
Finally, for the editing of this show, it is not the best, it seems very cheap. The music is all the same, they have like 3 or 4 songs that they use in every episode. The transitions are not good at times, this show will cut off right after someone finishes talking and oddly splice into the next scene. One minute you a scene will have a somber tone to it and then all of a sudden there is some happy song playing.
To be honest, the only reason I started watching this show in the first place was that "Immortality" did not come out last spring and I was very upset and wanted to watch more Luo Yunxi. I believe that Chu Wanning is the perfect role for Luo Yunxi. I cannot wait to see how he will portray Wanning... I know it will be better than perfect. He is the perfect Chu Wanning and no one can tell me otherwise. I cannot wait for that show to ruin me. HYX SPRING 2022🙏🙏🙏
UPDATE: I'm on episode 22 and was gonna see if I was overreacting with my review, I am not. He is touching her feet and it is not cute at all. It is the most cringe thing I have seen in a long time. I am actually mad, poor Mr. Luo Yunxi should be being pampered by his student, having meals cooked for him everyday, being nicely tucked in at night, being praised everyday and shown love everyday in a proper way, not rubbing some pouting chicks feet. I don't think I can finish this, the feet part was the last straw, I respect all of you who could finish this cuz dang.... this show.... it is just tooooooo cringe and I am officially mad. I am sooooooooo angry, this show is soooo aggravating and soooo predictable. It makes my blood boil idk idk. On a side note: Luo Yunxi is soooo handsome and elegant, even when he's playing a major chad of a character.
UPDATE #2:
Finished this show by fast-forwarding through everything I found to be annoying to the point that it made me gag.
Spoiler alert for the ending, it's one of the dumbest endings for a show I've ever seen. They end it in the cheapest, corniest way possible, I want to throw up. That was so painful.

Too Same-old-thing for 2020
The drama is fine up to Episode 29 and part of 30, after that it gets stupid.LIKES:
Decent production, okay music and good cinematography.
The fashion department wins an award for best dressed actors/actresses. Seriously I loved that all the female workers were in real business wear. [Unlike other dramas where all the females walk around in skirts that barely cover their butts or make it past thigh high.]. The men were all sharply dressed, even in their casual clothes.
Makeup was tasteful, even with the "cutesy" girls.
Building the romance/connection between Main Female lead and Main Male lead (Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai) was well done, almost realistic.
I liked that mostly the FL and ML were actually working during business hours and not just constantly looking at their phone/social media or each other. The females of the drama weren't made to look like a total idiots at work, like in other dramas.
I mostly watched to see if anything would develop between Du Lei and Jiang Jun, when he wasn't being a jerk. I liked their chemistry, but there wasn't enough romantic moments to build anything, even their friendship.
The scenes in the aquarium were beautiful.
DISLIKES:
Some over acting. Typical cliches and tropes. A lot of obvious product placement shots.
No chemistry between 2nd FL and 2nd ML (the love technology couple) and their whole storyline was a bit boring. Also I don't support relationships that began due to one party stalking the other, claiming it's due to love.
Really bad writing after episode 29 and part of episode 30.
Bad writing prior to that: Du Lei suddenly falling in love, without much interaction with his love interest. Jiang Jun's attitude towards Yuan Shuai changed too suddenly, especially since he was bullying and belittling her. Jiang Jun has degrees in economics and psychology but she is completely oblivious in the first half of the drama.
I liked the VP of MH; Qiao Na (powerful and smart business woman) but was disappointed and disgusted with the character they paired up with her at the end. Instead of creating this new character, they could have had Xiang Ding (Jiang Jun's co-worker and MH employee) be the one, for a real office romance.
More bad writing with the tear allergy concept, which was consistent throughout the drama until after episode 28, then the writers forgot about it, especially at two key times that anyone would cry. Also the build up about what really happened to Jiang Jun's father fell really flat, like the writers gave up on making it dramatic and impactful.
Finally the writers totally trashed Du Lei, Tao Han Yu's character after episode 29 and it wasn't necessary. It felt like an add on, to make more episodes.
Directing not the greatest either, because some scenes were too long or drawn out, that they became dull and boring. I used the fast forward button a few times in some episodes.
OVERALL:
I feel like this drama was over-rated. There were a few honest reviews among all the 9s and 10/10s. I expected better considering this was a drama made in 2020. I wont re-watch it. I'm neutral in whether or not to recommend it to someone else.

As the name says it, this drama makes your heart filled with Sweetness.... Oh! A Love So Sweet!!!
I have got to admit that this is one of the best modern Chinese drama there is. Trust me, whoever watches this will not be disappointed at all.Story: From the very beginning till the end, this drama will keep you so curious and happy and also this is a very light drama where you have nothing heavy to digest. The story at first will seem like your usual Rom-Com where the two leads hate each other but the guy starts liking her and then there's a love rival both for the boy and the girl but as you keep seeing, there is a very different plot and yes there is a villain who is very unexpected(I'm not gonna give any spoilers regarding that). Overall the story is so good you will wish that there were more episodes. And also two episodes are there which will make you think that this drama should have had a lesser no. of episodes but the episodes after that make up for that feeling.
Acting/Cast: The cast is just perfect. Every member of the cast fit their character's personality so well and their acting was spot on. I'm not gonna give much info on the cast as probably everyone knows that every member of the cast have great acting skills and are are rated very high but from other comments, 90% of the people ship Leo Luo and Bai Lu IRL. Their chemistry is so good it makes me go "wish they were a real thing".
Re-Watch Value: I have just got one thing to say. Even if you watch this drama 10 times you will not be bored. For me it can even go for over a 100 times and I won't get bored. This drama is that good.
The music was fine. Not that big of a highlight but fit the series well.
Overall, this drama is a must watch. The things get very unpredictable by the time you're halfway. Do give this drama a shot, it is so worth your time.

This is what I expected^^
I enjoyed every bit of this drama, the romance, the friendship, the actors, actresses, ost, story I mean I just like this drama, it's too sweet for me hehe:STORY: A girl called Jiang Jun has a tear allergy and she has a childhood friend( Yuan Shuai) who secretly had a crush on her,but she being a clueless girl never knew about this until later lol. Because of JJ allergy her father asked YS to protect her from bullies in school to avoid her from crying which YS accepted to do in exchange of some cash. JJ always believed that YS bullied her instead of protecting her which made her to dislike him and thought of him as a jinx. Because of an event which happened at school JJ had to leave the school and YS had to leave for the states so they didn't communicate with each other for so many year until JJ came to YS company for a job.
ACTING/CAST: The acting was really good especially Du Lei. He was the evil guy and he delivered his role well, his facial expression will make you love him instead of hating him. He is such a cutie^^
YS loved JJ for a long time and he hid it so well that you wouldn't believe he love her,YS is a smart guy and very understanding of JJ and he always supported her in whatever she wanted to do.
JJ is a happy and hardworking girl who made friends with everyone. She's also very clueless of things happening around her,she didn't know YS loved her til she found the Box. She didn't get all the clues for her proposal and she didn't know gifting a tie to guy is so sensitive and can be easily be misunderstood, right now i feel sorry for Du Lei.
Xu Li, JJ friend. She's very lovely and loves with her whole heart. She was always there for JJ and took care of her. Everyone needs a Xu Li in their life.
Li Xiaochuan, YS cousin and husband of Xu Li. He can't express his feelings openly.
Qiao Na and Shen xin were both against JJ at the beginning but they didn't cause much problem and harm to JJ their character developed well.
Every character was on point and the all gave their best which this drama even more enjoyable.
MUSIC: love can be miracle, someday and gonna be happy and strong enough to love with so many other ost that I can't stop humming every time. The ost for this drama is just so sweet i really love it^^
RE- WATCH VALUE: Am not the type to re watch a drama but am going to break that and rewatch this like the drama is so good and sweet why not just rewatch it for the good feeling hehe
OVERALL: THIS DRAMA IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE TO EVERYONE. The romance was on point,no too much business talk, the truth didn't take long to be revealed and that proposal is my favourite so far.....

Overrated, nothing special, very dull
I kept on forcing myself to watch more of this drama because of the high rating.. finally going to drop it at 30/36. The story is nothing special just over repeat of any other drama.Bai lu acting sucks in this one, maybe shes forced to be expressionless because she can not cry but these scenes that is shown shouldve been more emotional. I think she is more suited to play tomboys like her previous role. 2nd lead female is annoying trying to be cute but not exactly for me. Du Lei likes bai lu but not sure for what reason they barely have any encounters that is sweet enough to make him fall for her. There is no build up showing this. Linda acting is horrible...
Theres a lot of kisses in this drama so i guess it is sweet but no build up in chemistry.. this is just very dull drama for me.

Love is a repetitive script
Watch if you love the leads as they are both big stars but literally its the same script over and over again. If the story , dialogue is good then a repetitive script with typical otp cliches can be done right. This is not that. Not only that the story was pretty much done for by ep 30 but they dragged it out by another 6.Cliche story goes:
1. A boy who likes a girl in secret ever since a million years ago and never had any other love interest
2. The boy orders the girl around but is secretly helping her
3. Girl is COMPLETELY ignorant and cannot see he's helping her but thinks he's a bully instead
4. Girl is supposedly smart but yet let every one boss her around
5. Mean girl who can't get a clue or won't give up even after the leads got together
6. 2nd Lead who never had a chance but yet won't give up
7. 2nd Lead's confession is 20 ep too late? why not what? and of course the girl had no clue
Supporting couple not strong as well.
Few fun moments but majority is rather dull so if you are a fan of the leads then you might like it. Else skip for a better cliche love scripts that's done right.

Great and Sweet but falls into cliche and repetitive pitfalls with its writing
Everyone already saw the raving reviews so I'll keep the good points concise.Love is Sweet is mostly a generic office-romcom. There's romance, comedy, office politics, multiple couples. The plot is bearable in how dark/edgy it gets (doesn't go overboard to ruin the mood of the drama), majority of characters are realistic and fun(ish). Not mold-breaking but it does this very well for its genre and is enjoyable notwithstanding its flaws. Misunderstandings are resolved quickly (a big plus) so it's not a heavy watch which is great for a slow watch or a quick quarantine binge.
Pros: Great chemistry between main leads (honestly one of the best). Acting was great and I think all the actors conveyed emotions to a great detail. The plot wasn't overly complicated and mind-numbingly confusing (although there are certain parts that will be discussed briefly later). This makes rewatch value very high since you can skip around the parts you don't like (if you don't like the office politics or certain couples/characters). One of the best (and underrated parts) is the COMEDY. It's actually very funny with a good mix of wacky fun, diabetes cringe moments, and great banter -- for contemporary dramas with cliche premises, I think that's very important.
Cons: I'll start with minor cons and move my way up.
1) Music -- lots of English background songs, some of which have pretty bad grammar/pronunciation. Might ruin the mood (whether playful or teary) when it plays the same couple of English songs over and over again, not really a standout OST here.
2) Pacing -- first half of the drama was paced very well. Got more and more draggy in the later half.
3) Second Couple -- one of the least interesting second couples I've ever seen. Extremely one-dimensional and took up a lot of screentime. Definitely didn't pay off for how much screentime they took up and there wasn't any strong attachment to them. Felt like more of an afterthought. They tried to be the comedy-relief but shifted towards unneeded angst to keep the "suspense" going which was very arbitrary -- I didn't even mind the shift since I just didn't care for them. Even fast-forwarded some of their scenes and it's a definite skip on potential rewatches.
4) SML -- Won't go too indepth with this since people complained about this a bunch already. Just know that this character is written very poorly and feels unrelatable, almost a caricature of some sort. Last couple of episodes definitely ruin this character even more.
5) Poorer writing of main leads as series continued. This issue, other people haven't really talked too much about. The beginning, you have the "overprotective ML" that is standard in CEO dramas -- started off one-dimensional. Felt his character came off a bit strong initially but not to an excessive degree. Female lead started off extremely interesting -- although somewhat of a "damsel" since she's new to the company, you quickly see her perseverance and strength. Male lead also tones down his actions gradually and really shifts to become the focal point of the drama, however, this is to the detriment of the female lead. Female lead loses substance as the drama continues and starts becoming less and less interesting; becoming both unrelatable and even frustrating at times (which is something that really doesn't happen in the first half). I think in the later episodes, the romance feels more lopsided (male lead cares more for female lead [grand and small gestures, apologies, sacrifices]; female lead shows more aloofness [going at her pace]). Everything wrapped up satisfactorily but with respect to character development (primarily FL), the second half is lacking.
Conclusion:
Yes, I pointed out many cons that might deter you from the drama but note that I still rated it 8.5/10. It's a fun watch. Yes, it has its shortcomings but compared to other dramas in this genre, this one is definitely a standout still! Just don't think too hard about its plot/repetitive and enjoy it. Very fun nonetheless.

Okay....this is literally my all time favorite drama now!! IT'S SO GOOD
When I first watched the trailer, I knew this was going to be an AMAZING drama, and I was right. Bai Lu is so gorgeous and an amazing actress, as is Luo Yunxi. Yuan Shai was suchhhh a likeable character, as was Jiang Jun. The storyline is extremely interesting, and they are just too cute!! You cant stop shipping them!! Making Jiang Jun allergic to her own tears was very clever. When Jiang Jun said I love you first, my heart dropped. It was the most romantic scene in any drama EVER. There was alot of intense and sweet chemistry between the main leads, which made the drama 10x better.
The second lead couple were also cute, although I didn't like how Riley Wang was portrayed. His character seemed a bit annoying, but the second female lead was so sweet and adorable. I loved Qui Na, and her friendship with Jian Jun. She came to respect the fact that the guy she liked was in love with someone else, and stopped bothering them. THE BOY WHO WAS CHASING HER WAS SO CUTE OMG.
One part I did not like about the drama was Gao Hanyu's role. In episode 33, they completely ruined him. I dont know why the director wanted him to do something like that, but it was just disgusting and didn't fit his role. Also, Jian Jun's mom was kind of annoying for what she did to Yuan Shai. But other than that, I give the drama a 10/10.
