I absolutely loved this drama, which was a really pleasant surprise as I only decided to give this a go on a whim. I had recently watched "Rooftop Prince" and was in the mood for another time travel story and thought this sounded interesting because it was a reversal, with a woman travelling backwards in time.

I didn't expect to love Eun Soo when I started it but she became my favourite character just from how funny she was. A modern, intelligent, 21st century woman stuck in the past, baffling everyone with her "heavenly knowledge and ways". It really was the ultimate fish out of water scenario and was so so funny to watch. I also just loved her character as she tackled all of this stuff head on with a brave face and a smile but still let herself cry when faced with the overwhelmingly traumatic events she experienced. She was the type of heroine I enjoy watching, someone who feels like a real person and is actually proactive in the story and contributes to the plot (an annoyingly rare thing to find in kdramas imo).

Then there's Choi Young. Oh boy, well everyone who knows anything about korean dramas probably knows Lee Min Ho, and I really loved him in this. I've seen him in a few dramas and this was actually my favourite role of his. Watching his development throughout the series from someone simply existing to someone who actually finds a reason and will to live was wonderful. His unbelievably badass skills, his constant need to protect everyone, his amazing bromance with the King and his "just do it well" approach to leadership was fantastic. I was also really enchanted by the overarching plot of him having become weary with this life of killing and whether he would or could lay down his sword.

The main romance was so unbelievably sweet and beautiful to watch. It progressed in such a nice way, not too rushed or too slow, and developed into this wonderful love story that I will rewatch again and again. I tend to love stories where the guy falls for the girl first so that was also a major plus. In general they were just really adorable and I LOVED all the Wudalchi totally invested in their boss' love life haha.

Apart from the love story though, it was also a really interesting story to watch. I usually get fed up with the story in kdramas but this kept me hooked until the very end. In particular I really enjoyed Gongnim as a character, watching him grow from the nervous paranoid man to the great King he was destined to be. And his relationship with Noguk was a great secondary love story too. The Wudalchi were all so adorable, especially in their complete devotion to Choi Young and their giddy interest in his love life with Eun Soo. Everytime CY&ES had a moment in front of the wudalchi and you'd see them get these great big smiles on their faces, I laughed like crazy. It was so adorable to watch. The wonderful relationship between Choi Young and Gongnim was also a major highlight, especially considering what important historical figures they are.

Overall, this drama was such a wonderful surprise. I honestly didn't expect to love it as much as I did and this is definitely one I would recommend to anyone looking for a great love story with an equally great plot.

Faith is a beautiful time travel story set in an early time period. The show barely touches the surface of Korean history which is perfect for all us outsiders to enjoy this show comfortably. The lead actors do an amazing job in terms of performance and chemistry. As usual, the drama does have it's own set of dragged out moments like most other dramas. It does have a decent finish towards the end. I was expecting a slightly different finish. Nevertheless, I was happy it did come to the exact intended point. Every episode keeps you engaged with tons of fun moments. I highly recommend this show to everyone including those of you skeptical of historical dramas.

Faith is by far the most mature drama I've seen. The romance was so subtle that at times I found it frustrating. I went in expecting tropes and instead I was hit with an understated and subdued relationship. A rather shocking find in dramaland. At first I didn't know how to handle it. I wanted to shake them both and scream for the first 12 episodes. However, once I realized that Faith didn't play by the traditional drama rules, which happened to coincide with the romance plot picking up speed, I was so pleased. I really enjoyed this drama and people may question why I've only given it a 7 overall but allow me to explain.

First the romance, my favorite part of the drama and the aspect of it that saves Faith for me. The relationship between Eun Soo and Choi Young was breathtaking to witness. The subtlety with which Lee Minho portrayed Young's emotions made me truly respect him as an actor. He conveyed so much feeling through the tiniest of gestures, and Kim Hee Sun replied in kind to Minho's every glance, sigh, and emotional flicker. It was like watching a dance. Never once throughout the entire drama did i question Young and Eun Soo's love for one another. There were none of the tried and true tropes found in the more adolescent love stories that rule dramaland. In this way the romance in Faith reminded me a lot of Emergency Couple: mature, mutual, dedicated, and responsible. If the drama was nothing but this romance it would receive a 9 from me in a heartbeat.

The plot is where I lay many of my criticisms. While Faith lacked many of the romance tropes that plague dramaland it was rife with them in the main plot. I found myself frequently bored by the side characters (not the king and queen who were both lovely but some of the lesser characters) and constantly questioning the villain's motivation. I did not understand the need for the fantasy/supernatural aspects of the main plot (barring the time travel); this aspect of the drama was in my opinion its weakest point. It undermined an otherwise very serious portrayal of life's difficult choices and great triumphs. The plot could simply have been better constructed and the drama cut down by at least 4 episodes. So much time I would rather have spent on the beautifully constructed romance was spent instead on bad plot. This is the main reason for my rating.

I hope this was helpful. Faith was a beautiful drama but not one I would recommend to those that require constant stimulation. It is slow and subdued. I do, however, recommend this highly to anyone who loves Lee Minho; this is, in my opinion, his best role.

At first I didn't like to watch 'Faith' because I didn't thought it was a very good drama BUT in the end, I think, it was one of the best decisions I ever made concerning dramas.

What I liked:
- The acting is amazing. The actors and actresses convince the audience with believeable and touching characters and I often forgot that they were acting.
- The costumes, the rooms, the surroundings, the whole appearance of the drama is unbelievable. Even though some of the uniforms seemed to be made of plastic than of leather, I liked the probs and I think it was made with much effort
- The music of the drama supports the storyline perfectly.
- The story is going very smoothly. If you don't like what happens in the first half of an episode than you only have to wait for the second and it changes. Still the story and the actions aren't too quickly.
- The main lead (Yoo Eun Soo/ Kim Hee Sun wasn't just a weak person. She proves that she is strong too.

What I didn't like:
- Some situations reappear in the drama. So something which happened already, happens a second time (If I say more it would be a spoiler)
- Sometimes they characters seemed to make the same mistakes again and again, so they didn't learn anything.
- THE OVERALL PROBLEM of the drama was repetition!!!

Normally I have problems with such dramas since they get boring halfway but this was one of the first dramas I watched without a break (even though I have to wait for the last four episodes^^)...so concerning historical dramas, I think, this is a MUST-WATCH!

I started to watch this because of Lee Minho and i diden´t have high expactations for this cause i read a lot about slow plot and other bad things.
But i must say i was suprised when i actually watched it cause for me it was really good.
It is the truth that at the beginning it is a bit slow but after a few episodes it get´s faster and i think this drama needed the slow start so that you can get familiar with the different characters.
The actors all did a really great job in portraying ther roles be it Lee Minho as Choe Yeong or Ryu Deok Hwan as King Gong Min.
The staff did also an awesome job for this drama and the special effects where really great.
So all in all i would say if you like historical dramas, with a bit fantasy, this is definitly a must watch for you.

Ok 1st of all this Drama is very good, a passing grade in my book. I was captivated from Episode 1 to 24. The story line was exceptional, but fell down in acting and music. Even with that said i did love the few musics, they were very good and the acting was jus a little above average.
I really appreciated the fact that the writer chose this time period (Goryeo period)for i learnt alot, thanks. The costumes where good i was satisfied with the quality.
Faith is not my number 1 Drama however it does deserve its rating of 9. You will find Love, Action, History, comedy and politricks. The main couple love was ok but i must say the Royal couple took the cake for me. I felt them more at times plus history did confirm that they indeed loved each other greatly, that i could feel for sure.
Any how i must say the ending smh ( i wanna just hit the director and the writer in a dem head back) it could have been so much more ssssoooo much :( ..... I hate finding good drama`s that build me up and jus let me down in the end.
Overall i did enjoy this Drama not boring at all far from it, a must watch so go for it. Thank you Mardne for the recommendation another hit:)

Great concept, poor execution.

This is a drama with an amazing concept that had so many possibilities for success but alas it just never quite delivered on its premise. I could see very clearly what the drama was trying to convey but it rarely hit that mark and there are so many missed emotional beats that are wasted. There are scenes which clearly deserve more weight, but they're delivered without punch or significance.

Another thing show does is to deliver monumental truths way after the viewer has already figured it out, so it doesn't have the necessary impact of a bombshell.

The acting is ok, I've been on a quest to find out the reason for Lee MinHo's massive popularity and I can't say that it's because he's a great actor, he's rather wooden and one dimensional but I will say he has a certain charm which is endearing. In this role he's ok but the role would have had more impact with a more powerful actor. Kim Hee Sun is also ok in this, a bit silly at times where the role lacked the wisdom that a person from the future would have. The men from the Woodalchi are entertaining and cute.
The actor who got my notice in this is Park Se Young who played the Queen, she had the right demeanour and energy that the role required.

The music is ok, well placed.

Overall I wish this show could have lived up to its potential.

5 out of 10.

Well here it goes.

THE MAIN reason i watched this drama was because of Lee Min Ho :). However, i found this drama to be up to scratch here are my reasons.

THE STORY: Queen In Hyun's Man and this drama have similar vibes to them (expect the woman lead is an actor and the setting is in the Josen era) any wayyy the story dragged on a bit i think 20 episodes would have been enough. It was a love story with some twists and turns added, as well as time loops. I got a bit confused at the end so i advice you watch the finale twice maybe three times lol.

CAST: The cast were just perfect for each role, they made you laugh, angry, cry, frustrated, worried, anxious and annoyed. Either way they all gave their best.

MUSIC: it was a bit dramatic and OK -_-

OVERALL: well, i kind of enjoyed it i guess i was expecting to much, but the story and the connections with each characters keeps you wanting to know more. I will again advice you to watch the ending at least to understand it, director and writers pissed me off at the end. they could have made it more clear for the audience :(

Enjoy and let me know :)

At first I thought I needed to know something of Koreas history before I could watch this drama. I thought that if I didn't, I would catch this one at all. Therefor I was quite skeptical when I first started watching it. Later on, it turned out I didn't need to do that at all.

You don't have to know much (at all) about Koreas history, even if a great deal of this drama is about it and it is set in a historical time period.
It's got both sugar and spice. Both present and past. Both romance, action, and some politics.
You don't need to worry to much about this drama becoming to cheesy, it never does. Nor do you need to worry about it having to much fighting and no Main girl and Main boy relation/scenes.
What you do need to worry about however, is how much your space your embarrassing scale got.
This drama is awesome, it got it all. You never get bored of it. There is of course, like in any other dramas, time periods when it get a little boring and you maybe dislike this or that part.
But the thing is, this drama, from the beginning to the end, always succeeds to keep it's touch. You'll always want to know the answer of the question popping up in your mind. And therefor you continue to watch. Some think that if I watch this episode I'll get my answer and I can drop this drama. Well, the scary thing is, it's almost as if the director already knew your question, so he, purposely put your answers in a place where you have to watch even more to get to know the truth. That's good, because you wont feel frustrated even if you have to continue to watch. Instead you will grow even more and more attached to it and when your on the last episode, when it all ends, you'll regret watching it to greedily. You'll wish that you had slowed down a little.
And as for me, I wished nobody saw me crying.

I loved this one the best of all the time travel dramas this season. Not necessarily because it made more sense, but because the plot was very interesting and action oriented. The pace never slackened.

Though I didn't start to watch this drama for Lee Min Ho, he was very impressive. The last drama I'd seen of him was so long ago, I'd almost forgotten how good he is. Of course, it didn't take long to be reminded of that.
Kim Hee Sun was equally good. Her character Eun Soo was as strong and maybe even more important to the drama than Choi Young (Lee Min Ho).

A great plus for this drama is that there are so many characters of note in this drama besides the main leads and played by very good actors.
The King, the Queen, the Woodalchi boys and of course the main negative characters.
This is probably the first drama where there was a sort of comic relief in the villain. Ki Cheol is at the same time evil as well as somewhat comic and pitiful towards the end when he becomes obsessed with the thing he cannot reach, without even knowing what it is.

The music could grow on you perhaps, because it seemed out of place when I heard it the first time, and later not so much.

I cannot finish the review without mentioning the romance. It was slow to build up and to be acknowledged, but it was beautiful all the way. I loved how their interactions were built into the story even with so much else happening.

The 24 episodes went by very fast and I was quite satisfied with the drama. Though if I had to change something, it would be to explain more how and why Eun Soo traveled over time so many times. It seems to suggest that it is fate and not by chance that she was the one, but how and why isn't so clear.

I absolutely LOVED this drama! This was my first Korean drama and now all I want is more.

The story is pretty good, but I have to admit that sometimes the story is a little slow, but overall I really liked it. This show made me laugh, cry and everything in between.

The cast was awesome! Le Min-Ho is amazing...not to mention gorgeous (haha). I feel like the right person was cast for each character and wouldn't change them for anything.

I really loved the music, I have downloaded several of the songs. There were several parts when the music was playing that just filled me with so much emotion and some parts that made me cry (you know if it's a good show if it makes you cry).

I am going to give it a few weeks before I rewatch it again haha! But I would for sure reccomend this drama to anyone, and it's my opinion that everyone should watch this.

"Faith" was actually the first drama I watched as it was airing, even though it was far from my first drama. It was tons of fun to watch in the first half, because the first half was well done, suspenseful and exciting. After the story lost its steam, this drama became less fun and more of a pleasant watch.
Story: There was a really interesting set-up here. 2012 was the year of time-travelers. There was "Rooftop Prince" with its Joseon Idiot F4, "Queen In Hyun's Man" with its sweeping romance and sizzling chemistry, and of course the mess that was "Dr. Jin". Each time travelling drama had a special idea that made it different from the rest of the time travelers, and "Faith" probably had the most interesting of them all. In all the other dramas, the time-travelers were normally men, but this time it was a woman who went back into the past. At first, that doesn't seem like it would make much of a difference, but that little piece of the story made a world of difference. Eun Soo was surrounded by princes and Lords who wanted to possess "The Great Doctor". Before all the feminists on this site get angry, let me just point out that this makes sense. You can't force a guy to marry you or stay in your palace- well, you could- I'm not even going to go there.
I also loved how all the characters had really interesting roles in the story. The main character was a doctor who came from "heaven's realm", the male lead was a general with the power to control lightning- etc, etc. Even when the story was draggy, there were a few interesting developments with the characters.
Acting: Kim Hee Sun and Lee Min Ho have an age difference of about 11 years. Initially, I was prepared to be a little creeped out, but I was surprised when the stylists and the make-up artists made it work. They had a cute, breezy chemistry. Nothing sizzling, but the drama is called "Faith" for a reason. It was more about finding faith in yourself and having faith in others, not about steamy kisses or whatever. (If that did happen, I would probably be a little scarred. Age gap aside, Kim Hee Sun is married. And has a kid.)
Lee Min Ho is one of those actors whose hype I don't really understand. Granted, I haven't seen that much of him- I only ever watched "Boys Over Flowers" and didn't like it much, but he didn't really stick out to me. "Faith" made me see his skills differently. He has his weaknesses, but he did a good job here. Kim Hee Sun was awesome, playing Eun-Soo's sarcastic and free-spirited character like she was born to do it. The supporting cast was good too, and I particularly loved the bromance between all the Woodalchi boys.
Rewatch Value: Not for a while.
Overall: After the writers pretty much exhausted all the fun of the story, they drag it. There were absolutely no surprises after episode 12. This drama probabaly would have been a lot better if it were cut down to 16-20 episodes and if the last half of the last episode was made into two episodes by itself. The ending felt really rushed to me. All in all, "Faith" didn't live up to its potential. There was so much the writers could have done with this story, but it all went downhill.
