Definitely a good storyline

You will not get pissed of the the common line of holding back their feelings, but the ending is not so smooth and a bit rushed the murder cases and misunderstanding between the couple is so annoying because it doesn't give a full and clear explanation to the characters when it was solved, Plus it's so unfair the ML got hurt a lot by zhao xiao and he always gets away from it, his punishment is not satisfying you will get pissed. Han Tongxi either, my expectation is she will be dethroned or get kicked out in the palace yet she got imprisoned in a royal house what a lucky sinner. Tho only miaorong gets punished the way she deserves

Slice of life story with great chemistry...but kinda horrible villain plots

I know a lot of people hate the plot because it seems pointless or theme-less but I actually quite like the slice of life vibes it gives off. I like how it sort of traces the relationship between Li Qian and Baoning--from its formation up to the domesticity of married life. And the actors were AMAZING. Even when I wanted to pull my hair out because of the "villains", the chemistry between JJY and JZ kept me going.

I also quite liked the production quality. The sets, wardrobe, and even background music were all amazing. Aside from a few weird CG scenes (like the ending scene overlooking the city), everything looked beautiful. I usually hate watching historical shows since they typically look cheap and fake but I wasn't bothered by that this time.

However, one thing I hated about this show were the villain plots. They just never seem to end. Especially for Gao Miaorong, Zhao Xiao, and the Empress, every time their plot lines seem to be ending, they disappear for a few episodes then suddenly have a brand new evil plan in mind. I would have loved if the show focused more on Yongqing as the villain and the other "evil" characters as minor villains that last for 5 episodes at most. Kudos to the actors though, they were incredible at acting evil. I really wanted to slap them :)

Lastly, I really wished that they didn't cut down the number of episodes. The ending seemed rushed. It would have been a lot better if there was more time to really see the mending of Li Qian and Baoning's relationship and if the battle with Yongqing was more climactic.

Overall, there are indeed points for improvement for this show. But if you're looking for a show with great main leads and pretty outfits, try this one out! You'll have to bear with the SML and SFL but honestly, just fast forward through their scenes and they won't be as annoying. Just enjoy the chemistry between the main couple! <3

Bet you'll skip through the episodes.

Started off quite interesting: FL, ML and SFL are skilled and clever enough to get through a game, where they became friends and momentarily goodbye only to cross paths in the Palace where they each learned of their true identifies; ML and FL gradually fell in love with each other - and then everything went south from here.

First of all, why is everyone obsessed with marrying the Princess?!!!
Second, whats with the unnecessary death!? I don't understanding why certain characters had to die and what led to such events.
Third - Details are annoying! In what messed up world, do the ML and SML get to work wherever the FL is!? Timeliness are messed up - they don't make sense at all. I was just watching the Queen Dowager take a baby away and in the next episodes he's like 3-5 years old, and in the next one he's like 7-10 years old already!? What happened to the characters in all that period?!
Fourth - no character progression.
Fifth - lousy story centered around ugly, shallow scheming to break the main couple apart. It's like incoherently stacking plot twist after plot twist to finish all 40 episodes. Mind you, there's nothing here that you surely haven't seen before.

The only enjoyable part was that scene where the extremely annoying Ms. Zhang, found out that the person she married on a whim had 10 concubines! For that, and that reason alone, I'm giving this 3 stars.

suka sama jujingyi meskipun dia banyak haters tetapi dia berusaha akting dan drama semuanya sudah ku lihat sampe tamat jalan ceritanya ok"aja RFU liat baoning sama li qian jadi baper banget. dan kasian jjy banyak yang kesal karena makeup dan jalan cerita padahal itu pilihan agensinya sendiri semoga jujingyi mendapatkan drama lebih bagus lagi dan makin sukses dia salah satu artis yang membuat saya suka drama chinese .. dengan wajah imutnya yang sungguh mempesona siapa saja . sudah umur 28 tapi wajahnya seperti umur 17 tahun badannya juga sangat mungil kuharap jujingyi memiliki rumor drama lagi. sekarang lagi nungguin floral armor semoga cepat tayang amin

I will be brutally honest here..

i kind like the main leads character but the plot wasn't good enough to do them any justice ... series went well till ep 12 ML FL met ..they helped each other to achieve personal goals ..fall in love .. got married. story was heart warming and rom-com. but after this the plot turned into bitch slap crap .. kitchen politics and domestic drama phase ... like a total 180 degrees opposite to how it started .... i am pretty sure a lot of viewers must have given up on this series here ...

i sticked around though ... and from ep 25/26 onwards i find the story improved a little .. i mean it was watchable at this point .. then it went okay till ep 37 but as we reached closer to the ending ...writer messed up again ... i mean seriously messed up ... the ending for ML FL was satisfactory ...but for villains , NO ... you will feel a different level of frustration watching the villains who deserve severe punishments were not hold accountable enough even after committing crimes repeatedly.

this was not the type of series you would recommend others but if you happen to come across it and likely to watch it i suggest you read episodes guide side by side so that you can skip the unnecessary parts ..other wise you will be exhausted

Engaging Drama with a Smart Female Lead

This is one of the few Chinese series I keep rewatching whenever I need a dose of a smart female lead. The plot, centered on political and family power struggles within the kingdom, family, and warfare, is engaging, with problems being solved in clever ways.

One downside is the presence of two characters who are overly obsessed with the main leads. It would have been better if they were more supportive instead of constantly inserting themselves into the main story. The cast delivers decent performances, though their acting can sometimes feel stiff. There's less romantic interaction between the married couple than I expected, and while their chemistry is decent, it’s not particularly captivating.

Despite these shortcomings, I really enjoy the characters of Jiang Bao Ning and Li Qian. Both are intelligent, and it's refreshing to see a female lead who, though not skilled in martial arts, is very clever and resourceful. The music in the series is also enjoyable. Overall, this is a series I will definitely keep rewatching.

Yea disappointed with this one ALOT, FL/ML got lost in the plots and couldn't find their way out of them, nothing really positive to say about this, a shame cos both leads i like and they were my draw card - good acting, good looking, good characters to develop but the storyline went ga-ga....screen writes think about the diversity of your audience, - don't make plots that go off on tangents and take us the viewers down rabbit holes cos they are so hard to come back from....sequential logic makes good movie making....nah moved on from Ep 14 saw the uselessness of staying longer with the unattractive foreseeable non-sensical plots coming...I had to go to Ep40 to see what would happen and the nemesis should have been gone long ago ?????

Give it a chance.

I hesitated to watched this because of some of the reviews. But I really enjoyed it.
Very similar to The Blooms of Ruyi Pavillion and Legend of Yunxi. You have the beautiful, carefree, resourceful and kind FL. There's the handsome, heroic, devoted ML. He's also on a mission to solve some mystery or wrong doing.
You also get obsessive second ML&FL (s)who fell for MC because they had a childhood connection or encountered them by chance and was intrigued by them. The acting is good. I rooted for the MC. Found the various characters true to their respective roles.
It's a long drama. I didn't feel cheated with abrupt ending here. Everyone got what they deserved in the end.

MAIN LEAD CHEMISTRY'S ARE HERO IN THIS CDRAMA! , CZ THE STORY WAS ....!

•STORY

OKAY FIRST! About the 'rebirth' in the title, I mean the story has absolutely nothing to do with it, I don't understand what the director was thinking. Even though the title makes people who see it have high expectations. me too, i feel cheated by the title.

Three episodes confused me and i dropped it，but because i like JJY so much i decided to repeat it. Yes, I found the gist of this story, and it turned out to be quite interesting. I started to enjoy watching it until the tenth episode, there I started to get bored, especially when Baoning married Liqian, I felt the problems at the beginning of the episode disappeared and now the conflict is widening everywhere making me dizzy. And finally I stopped at episode 20, I don't know when I will continue it.

The story is quite interesting, and what is most addicting is the chemistry between the main leads which is very pronounced. cz it i say that chemistry main lead is hero in this drama! unfortunately this story focuses too much on many things, many plot holes are not resolved quickly, and are instead added with new conflicts that make you confused. even the two main leads sometimes feel like extras. too. many take other people's scenes that are not the main role. the conflict is good, it's just that in my opinion the screenwriter and director can't execute the plot well. but the film has potential. too many couples also makes it less attractive, I think Cdrama should reduce the number of couples in one drama, after a while it becomes annoying!

•Acting/casting

JJY as Baoning. She is beautiful, i like her so much. I watched this drama too because of her. I think her beautiful face really suits the character of Baoning who becomes a princess and many want to marry her. For me, her slightly complicated style is perfect for her past as a princess, and to be honest, I really like the hanfu she wears, it's really beautiful. it's just that her make up is too thick, I mean it's too much for a costume drama like this. I sometimes get annoyed with her make up even though she looks pretty in it. JJY's acting I think good but it will be better if she improve it even more.

I think I also need to discuss the character of Baoning, to be honest, sometimes I don't like her character. she's a girl who can't be put down easily, especially by the li qian family makes her look cool. It's just that in the first early episodes I didn't really like his arrogant nature and sometimes didn't respect Li Qian. but he is cool and very loyal to li qian, i was touched when he went undercover to find his girlfriend.

JOSEPH ZENG as Li Qian. i know joseph zeng from this drama. he is handsome and plays the character Li Qian very well. his face that is not boring makes me comfortable to watch every action. I don't know what to comment on because I think he is already very good at playing the character Li Qian. Li Qian's own character also has the potential to be liked, apart from being handsome, he is good at fighting, he is also very protective of Baoning, I mean he is great. he keeps protecting baoning even though his girl doesn't know about it.

THEIR CHEMISTRY'S ARE THE SAVIORS IN THIS STORY! even though i dropped this drama but i watched all their bts, they are so sweet and compatible! JJY JSX played the characters Baoning and Liqian very well. especially in describing their love story, because their chemistry is so good, which makes me feel at home watching the interactions between the two, very sweet. only one thing missing, an intense kiss! why are they just sticking their lips??

I hope they will meet in another drama that has a better plot as the main lead.

•MUSIC

I really like the music, even all the soundtracks of this Cdrama are stored on my cellphone. I love JJY's beautiful voice in 'never apart' and 'missing in the rain'. JJY and JSX duet also very well on that song. Of course I didn't forget the songs that songxiran and others sing. to be honest, even though the plot is a bit 'ruined', you certainly won't be able to lie to yourself if all the osts in this drama are good to hear.

•REWATCH VALUE??

ARE U KIDDING ME?! Just watching it once makes me confused, let alone the second time, crazy huh?!

but it's also good if you repeat it and analyze it better, it's quite an interesting story.

i hope i can continue this CDRAMA T T

Great Watch but the Script got lost

The show started off action packed with mystery and intrigue. Then it kinda just stopped. I think once they return to the ML home town it kinda pauses the whole story and turns into a detour about his annoying "sister." Also his actual stepsister is AWESOME. I enjoyed the detour from one woman needing to fill every role from soft-mannered women to warrior. This was more realistic and enjoyable.
I also enjoyed the dynamics and power struggle but again felt like the queen was just an aristocratic version of the ML "sister." I enjoyed it and the scene where the ML thinks he lost the baby is extremely powerful. The acting there was amazing. Not sure if I can say much on the FL acting as she is phenomenal and delivers moving scenes in every show she is in.

A waste of good actors ಠ_ಠ

PLOT: 1 princess, the FL, raised in freedom, is coveted by the emperor. She participates in a mechanism competition, where she meets 2 nobles, the ML and the ML2. The ML saves her several times and ends up marrying her, to the great annoyance of ML2 and FL3, a childhood friend.

PROS:
+ A great CL: Joseph Zeng and Ju Jing Yi (a little anorexic) who develop great chemistry. lots of sweet scenes :)
+ Dynamic production
+ Light tone

CONS:
- some problems, easy to resolve, last a VERY long time, while dangerous situations are resolved in the blink of an eye ಠ_ಠ
- fight scenes that are too visibly choreographed.
- The 2 villains are REALLY obsessed, fit for the psychiatric hospital.
- the story is poorly written, full of plotholes and inconsistencies.

=> the actors are good, cute, but cannot save a poorly conceived story.

+ Un super CL : Joseph Zeng et Ju Jing Yi (un peu anorexique qd mm) qui développent une belle alchimie. bcp de sweet scenes :)

+ Ton léger

CONS:
- certains problèmes, faciles à résoudre, durent TRES longtemps, alors que des situations périlleuses sont réglées en un clin d’œil ಠ_ಠ
- scenes de fight trop visiblement chorégraphiées.
- Les 2 villains sont VRAIMENT obsédés, bons pour l’hôpital psychiatrique.
- la story est mal écrite, pleine de plotholes et d'incohérences.

=> les acteurs sont bons, cute, mais n'arrivent pas à sauver une histoire mal conçue.

Lets play a game of pick-a-plot

This is the first time I watched a drama where a plot felt like a combination of several dramas glued together, as if a bunch of different people wrote it without communicating with each other. There were several parallel storylines with characters that often crossed paths, but their stories were completely independent of each other. You will miss nothing if you skip entire scenes and focus on the characters you like. So, to save yourself time and sanity, start a game of pick-a-plot and make friends with the fast-forward button.

Li Qian was a valiant and brave soldier. Baoning was a spoiled princess. But the difference in their status did not prevent them from building a loving relationship based on trust and communication until, towards the end, they regressed into complete knuckleheads who refused to communicate, jumped to conclusions, and threw asinine accusations. In the last 5 episodes, Baoning's character drastically changed from a spunky young woman to a calculating persona resembling Wang Xuan from The Rebel Princess. This change showcased Ju Jing Yi's ability to play more serious roles. But, it wasn't necessarily good for the story, because it happened without any actual character development showing Baoning's transition from a care-free princess to a mature woman with experience dealing with scheming villains.

The first 12 episodes were very engaging showing Baoning and Li Qian's blossoming romance. But then, the plot suddenly got hijacked by secondary characters and became a continuous onslaught of love rivals' deranged schemes to break up the happy couple. A love obsessed and jealous villain is one of the worst, most uninspired, uninteresting tropes to manufacture conflict. The writers threw in every cliche and rehashed idea instead of writing an actual story. Zhao Xiao was a nobleman with a bright political future. But, every single action he took was to get into Baoning's pants. And, Miaorong's slimy schemes resulted in the same predictable outcome again and again. The writers did not even try to create compelling villains, but love-obsessed psychos who just wouldn't get the message that the object of their affection couldn't care less.

More often than not, I ended up throwing my hands in the air and screaming "FFS!!" When I did not suffer from second-hand embarrassment, I pressed on the fast-forward button. The drama is a convoluted mess of jealous lover tropes, scattered plot, and a marketing scheme for the supporting cast.
