It feels like 11 episodes of the breakup scene from movies and then the last episode
The concept for the show is very interesting. Somewhat basing each episode on a famous romantic movie could allow the show to explore different cliche as scenarios without it feeling forced. But I feel that Theory of Love actually kept repeating the same type of plot in every episode. We got 11 episodes of the breakup/disappointment/sad part of every time tic movie and then things moved forward in the finale. We got: main character finds out they are in love with a jerk; main character overreacts and the couple fights because of miscommunication; main character doesn’t trust their other half… I expected a bit more range with the plot.Third and Khai’s story kept repeating itself over and over. Khai was a jerk in many moments, but I feel like Third could never be satisfied with anything. The scene at the beach with Jam, for example. He was unhappy because Khai was cold with Jam and said that past relationships are difficult. I understand that it made Third think that he’d loose the friendship if the romance was over. But I’m certain that Third would be complaining if Khai was friendly and talked nicely to Jam. He’d complain that he’s still a player, never changes and blah blah.
The only character’s plot I liked from beginning to end was Bone’s. He’s the best character on the show. He’s a good friend, he’s a good guy and does his job well. I felt it a bit forced for the show to give him a girlfriend in the end, but I understand how it fits the tone of the series. Two is a nice guy and White is always great. But his story with Un was SO forced that I cannot feel any spark of chemistry there. Was that supposed to be an enemies to loves story? White and Earth worked together in Waterboyy, and had good scenes together, so I think it’s weird how the show couldn’t make them click better.

I don’t have too too much to say about this without spoiling it a bit, but holy shit. Everything about this was for the most part pretty good; nothing really stood out to me as completely awful. However, there were a couple of things that stood out to me as really, really good.
One, the set. I know this probably isn’t what you’re looking for, but the set is wonderful imo. The color palette is beautiful, and it’s just a really gorgeous show to watch. It’s sometbhing you can’t help but noticing either; the difference in the rooms of Third and Khai, the unique colors of each individual set piece, the colors of sad scenes versus happier ones, all of it. Absolutely gorgeous. I just had to acknowledge that.
As far as the storyline goes, it’s a pretty simple one. Guy’s in love with his best friend but best friend is straight/a player/ oblivious/ all of the above. Not many complex things going on here. I’ll admit there were a couple of times I got confused, but for the most part, it was a simple storyline that was easy to keep up with.
That being said, even within such a simple premise, the acting and the characters still managed to blow me away. The one thing that really got me was how easily my emotions were manipulated by this show. Generally with shows like these, I’m very critical of the main character. I don’t tend to understand why they refuse to try and get over their love interest, and I end up disliking the show because it just doesn’t make sense. But with this one, they did it amazingly imo, esp in getting me to feel what Third was feeling.
The entire time I completely understood everything Third said and did and felt, and I felt the same exact way. Yes, Khai could be a bit of a dick sometimes, but the show did a wonderful job of showing the times where he wasn’t; it made me fall in love with him in the exact same way Third did, and I could easily get why despite Khai’s mistakes Third couldn’t help but forgive him. I couldn’t help it either; he was just one of those characters. I cried when Third cried, I felt hopeless when he felt hopeless, and I was happy when he was happy. And that right there is what will keep me watching this show. I adore how easy it is to understand and empathize with Third, and I his relationship with Khai is portrayed perfectly, though I’ll admit there were times where I wondered if they had anything keeping them friends other than their shared love for film. Luckily this was rectified almost immediately.
10/10 will definitely continue watching, and I can’t wait to see the next episodes and what becomes of Third and Khai. Only reason this wasn’t 10 across the board is because I don’t want to jump the gun too soon. If you’re hesitant about watching this, I say go for it.

I JUST COULDN'T FINISH IT...
I'll be honest. I'm probably the last person who should be reviewing this drama as I gave up on completing it. But I have my reasons. First of all, as someone who enjoys the romcom genre, this drama did not appeal to me in that sense. The first three episodes had no comedy even though it was advertised as such. It was overly dramatic to me, which is distasteful to me personally. Then comes the romance part of this series: NONE whatsoever. I did not see even the slightest bit of reason why Third would fall hard for a scumbag like Khai. You feel bad for Third to a certain extent until you realize he's a complete idiot for falling for the dude who makes a less-than-ideal boyfriend, let alone a good friend. Like seriously?!
What has Khai ever done for Third to pine after his dick for three whole years? Third takes a beating for this petty fucker while this guy thinks his little date with a girl is more important than a friend like that, to the point of even lying. In my personal opinion, this relationship felt doomed from the beginning. So it felt even worse seeing Two hyping up Third to continue. NO! Two knows how much of an ass Khai is.
I agree with Third. this 'movie' should have ended after he got his heartbroken. Or at least maybe find someone who appreciates him. So whenever I see him cry, I can't help but think that you should not be crying for being a cuck in a relationship that never even existed to begin with. Maybe these issues got resolved as the story continued, I don't know.
and for the things I liked about this drama:
The cinematography was nice.
The trope of them being film majors was pretty great, as these uni dramas are mostly engineering, law, dentistry or architecture majoring cliches.
The acting was pretty good but I hated the styling of the characters, especially Third's hairstyle.
well, other people may have enjoyed it but it was a miss for me.

Starting khai character i didnot like ,how he never be fix to one relationship ,so frequently he change his girls totally spoil one . I did not know why Third kept such friend as a best who can ditch him anytime ,only he has feeling for him that's why he endure his nonsense and stupidity.
Two dialogues i like about drama
1.when Two said to Third that i understand how it was feel to see that your love is front of you but you can't said to them and see them with someone else.
2 When Third get over Khai and Khai pursue him but he ignore him and then khai said to himself ,now I understand how you felt when i always ignore you and spending time with someone else ,i hate this feeling and he cried and walk away.

Strong Cast but the Main Couple Lacked Chemistry
I'm still relatively new to the whole Thai BL scene, having only seen a select few series, so I don't have a huge amount to compare this to. This is actually my first written review btw so!I had previously watched Puppy Honey and Puppy Honey 2, so I had experienced seeing Attaphan and Jumpol as the lead male couple. While I feel like this series was a lot better than PH and PH2, I still feel the two main actors lacked any real chemistry, and this really impacted my interest in the couple's relationship as the series progressed. Compared to the other BL series I have watched, these two actors really have some of the weakest chemistry on screen together.
Character-wise, I think this series had a strong cast and a nice, diverse group of main characters. Each of Khai, Third, Two and Bone played their own role in their group. Personally I felt Two had the strongest character and I was rooting for him and Un for the whole series, even more so than Khai and Third. Bone's charming personality was sweet to watch and his relationship with Paan was handled very well (massive fan of Paan's character as well btw!) While I thought Attaphan's acting of Third was very strong, by the end of the first episode I was already tired of the crying. I don't think I have ever seen a character cry so much in 12 episodes? I began to like his character as the series progressed but it sort of fell back to the beginning towards the end of the series. I feel like Third lacked any real character development. As for Khai, I didn't have any strong feelings in favour or against him. Wasn't a massive fan of his character throughout and the devlopment of his feelings for Third just seemed ingenuine.
I thought the overall theme was sweet - where each episode was titled after a classic romance film and I really enjoyed the references to various classic films (shout out to The Perks of Being a Wallflower). The soundtrack was a lot more interesting than the majority of other BL series I have seen. I was also a fan of the opening sequence. As for rewatch value, I don't think I will be re-watching this any time soon. I still have a tonne of highly-rated series I'd like to see first but even of the ones I have seen, this would be way down the list of series I'd rewatch.
If you were a fan of Rome and Pick's relationship in Puppy Honey then I would definitely recommend checking out this series! It offers a similar enough relationship, just with a much much better storyline. The lack of chemistry between the main actors really knocked it for me, but I don't regret watching this at all. Overall I gave it a 7.5 / 10.

Storyline felt lacking
Let’s start put by saying it that you can tell it had a hefty budget and I believe they could have done more with it.The way they incorporate film into the series was very well done and believable as other BLs (mostly engineering BLs) leave a lot to be desired in that department this one succeeded. Everything was done very well aside from the way the storyline unraveled it was very slow growing and obvious at many times I wanted to stop watching it because they made the Third look stupid for still being in love with Khai, the way Khai constantly hurt him made me feel somewhat mad and made me not like Khai at all, all the way up until the end, It seemed lazy how mid season the script was flipped and the story was just repeated but from a different perspective.
I will say for it being another College BL it was better then most and the storyline had a nice change of pace for involving the characters majors as a big part in the storyline, personally I would not rewatch but if you want a change in pace from the same college BLs it’s worth taking a look

The story is kind of light, although the main character does go into many tear showers due to his crush. Nevertheless, the friendship of the four college students had nice dynamics and it was entertaining. There were enough comedy reliefs as well. The romance, in addition, was nicely paced and the references from other romantic comedies were making it even more cute. The side characters had their moments as well, as the drama didn't forget about them in order to concentrate on the main couple. The ending, finally, was well managed and it was nice to see how they all succeeded in the future.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

Unrequited Love
I'm a sucker for unrequited love themes. Just finished the whole thing hours ago.I love how they showed Third's journey, his emotions going up and down. Hoping and then becoming disappointed to finally giving up. It was well paced for me and not rushed. This actor portrayed this part very well. I wasn't really thrilled with how rushed they made Khai realize his feelings for Third. This actor is excellent in his portrayal of being a douche. The sweet fluff moments are lacking for me too. Even after they have cemented their love. But the last confession was on point (and that, I stan!).
Same with the second couple, Un and Two. Their overall love story wasn't well paced in my opinion. Chemistry between the actors aren't really spot on. I want a little bit more of Two's journey of "bending" but I did love and was amused that he got "bent".
For Bone.. oh Bone.. my gentleman.. #JusticeForBone.. almost shed a tear for this angel.
The epilogue was a bit cringey for me. The worst scene for me was the accident but this was me being critical to any medical-related thing.
Actors are okay. Soundtrack forgettable. I recommend with an "okay, so-so" sign.

Mixed up feelings
Well, this is my favorite BL but that doesn't mean it was perfect.Theory of Love wasn't a bad drama in my opinion, but now that it has been a long time since I've finished it, I remember a lot of things that weren't good at all. I will not only talk about the bad things tho, I will stand out what I hated the most and my favorite things.
First of all, Third was way too dramatic, always crying under the shower, I now find those scenes to be really funny because I really can't take them serious since they didn't look credible at all. One of the things that I loved the most about this show was the boys's friendship, even if it was damaged in so many moments, they were always there for each other and I find it very endearing. I'm very happy with the ending and I loved the whole film concept. And last thing was Kai's development, wow, that is something everyone has to watch !

One part of me likes it while the other one is over it.
From the start I'm going to say that the story was aggravating to watch, but at the same time I wouldn't consider this to be a bad drama at all. There's always two sides to every coin and even though some things drove me crazy, there were others that I enjoyed watching.Let's start with my favorite part: the pacing. Most dramas I've seen usually start slow and suddenly turn fast towards the end giving the impression that they are trying to rush through the story skipping some important development. However, TOL was the complete opposite of that, and I loved this so much! The story started fast paced, but gradually began slowing down to focus on each couple individually and giving time for the audience to grow empathy by watching the struggles they were facing. This is EXACTLY what I look for in a drama! I enjoyed being able to slowly go through the characters' struggles and how they found a way to learn and move forward. Most other dramas give you a problem and pretty much solve it in one or two episodes, but TOL gave time for those problems to sink in a show the severity of the situation.
The editing on this drama, though... I'll just say... it left me with A LOT to wish for. It's just too amateur.
The soundtrack was pretty excellent too, if you ask me. I'm a soundtrack geek and the music is one of the things I look forward to the most when I watch a movie, anime, or any TV series. TOL's did not disappoint me at all (compared to many others tbh). The composer focused on ambient music with a kick of melancholy that fit very well with the mood of the episodes. It wasn't a soundtrack that felt generic at all, but more of an intimate style exclusively made for this show.
The acting in this series wasn't that bad, but it was not the best I've seen either. I felt like some actors were lacking some emotions in their voices, but nothing cringey, fortunately. I'll talk about each couple below:
Khai and Third: This was actually a very uniquely written couple. I have not seen a lot of dramas and this is the first couple with such toxic relationship. Quite a different toxicity than the Tharn and Type couple. This is probably the most aggravating part of the show because if I were Third I would've cut off this friendship so quickly, but well... it's a drama after all, can't complain much. I did like Off a lot more than Gun, though. I felt like he was a little more expressive than Gun. I just finished watching "I'm Tee, Me Too" and I noticed that Gun is lacking a lot of facial emotions to the point that his characters look dead inside. By the way, am I the only one who thinks Off's acting resembles a lot to Captain's (Love Sick)? So many mannerisms reminded me of him.
Two and Un: Honestly, this casting was terrible. Not because they are bad actors or anything, but because they don't look good together as a couple. I was constantly hoping that Two could end up with the girl instead and got really disappointed when it didn't happen. Shame.
Bone and Paan: As a gay man, I am happy to see straight couples being represented in BL. Why? Because it shows that we are accepting of them and call for the same treatment from non-BL series. I think both actors did very well, if not the best from the three "couples."
One thing that did bother me about the story is that they left Khai's major character development for the final episode. With how long the episodes were, it would have been more preferable if he had taken at least two episodes to go through his development. This is just me being picky for a good reason.
All in all, this is a good drama that deviates from the usual lighthearted stories most people would be probably used to. If you like some tragedies, then this is a drama for you.

I have watched episode 1 without English subtitles, so I focused more on the acting and appreciation of the players.for the story line itself, see from the trailer that has been aired and what Chimon once said because playing role here is OffGun it looks like it's really their own story, like real. and I can only hope that happy ending is at the end of this Theory of Love story.
for the acting of the players, I was truly fascinated by a Gun Atthaphan Phunsawat, I can't explain in detail because I don't know how to describe my feelings now.
For the original soundtrack, don't ask, we're all here for that, I'm really in love.
and it's still a long way to go for Theory of Love, I really can't wait for the days to pass so weekend will come quickly ????❤
