Eu Sou Você (2018)

An emotional roller coaster ride worth getting on!

Intriguing mystery, sweet glimpses of romance, and amazing chemistry between the leading roles are some of the reasons you might consider watching this lakorn. For me, it is also the great acting by Bua Sakulongumpai, Pop Karnthip, and Kem Chuaykua that makes it a highly recommendable show.

The main narrative centered around betrayal on multiple levels, from childhood abandonment to adulterous spouses to inter-family backstabbing and rivalry. The writer did an excellent job weaving the various subplots into the primary storyline, one so filled with twists and turns that it kept the suspense up in every episode except for the predictable ending. However, it was predictable in a comforting way because it gave me the proper closure I wanted after experiencing this emotional roller coaster ride. Seriously, if you want to experience frustration, joy, laughter, sadness, anger, and heartaches, then my friends, this lakorn may be just the one to give you that.

In her quest to find the culprit who failed to murder her twin but left her disabled, Sina, our FL, had to pose as Siriya, her sister, throughout most of the show. Playing identical twins is not easy for most actors, but Bua pulled it off to great effect! The tone of voice, mannerism, attitude, and the way of speaking - the differences were subtle but effective, and her portrayal of the two characters was believable. I appreciate that there was no over-acting from Bua to contrast Sina's confident, straightforward, no BS character against Siriya's, who was softer, quieter, and timider.

Due to Siriya's entanglement with Pipop Sutharak, Sina found herself (acting as Siriya) in a cohabitation/contract marriage situation with Athirat. Pop was excellent as our ML, a nuanced and complex character; charismatic and generous but emotionally shuttered due to being abandoned by his mother at a young age. Even though his father's family accepted him and raised him well as part of the influential Sutharak family, being the son of a mistress also added to his emotional baggage. Pop was really on point with his expressions and body language; one could tell when Athirat was angry, disappointed, or happily in love. Even when he was torn between doing the right thing versus following his heart, you can see the conflict on Athirat's face. Speaking of "doing the right thing", the characters in this show were all about doing things correctly/properly; so much so that I added a new word to my Thai vocabulary - อย่างถูกต้อง - Xỳāng t̄hūk t̂xng.

Kem Chuaykua deserved a shout-out as Khun Nat, the primary wife of Pipop. Kem did a great job building up Nat's character and how she slowly lost her grip on reality as she silently but gracefully bore with the humiliation of being betrayed by her husband, especially under the scrutiny of gossipmongers. Nat's fashion, by the way, was GORGEOUS and drool-worthy. I lusted after her every outfit!

In general, I find the characters well-written, and no one was one-dimensional - all good or all bad. The good character had flaws, and the villains had a backstory that made them relatable and their actions understandable. Sina, for example, was a great FL, smart, sassy, and skilled in fighting, but she had her reckless and rash moments. Many commenters found Siriya too weak, but I saw her to be a good complement to Sina, tempering and slowing her down. Athirat was deeply loyal to his family, but he always chose justice and fairness over family bonds. I did find Darika's obsession with Athirat rather extreme, but she was not the worst nang rai I have come across in the lakorn world.

Romance-wise, there were more heart-fluttering moments due to accidental skinship, deep stares, longing gazes, and near kisses compared to actual love scenes. There were some bonus moments when Athirat was so flirty with Sina even when he was suspicious of her. Our two couples had to deal with the challenges of forbidden love, so it was not surprising that viewers had to wait until the end to see our couples finally being together. Bua's chemistry with Pop and Judo Tharinpirom (who played Kritt, the SML in love with Siriya) was fantastic, but ultimately, it was the push-pull relationship between Athirat and Sina that kept me rooted to the screen. That said, I did find the show somewhat draggy in the middle and felt that they could have gotten to the big reveal sooner by cutting out some unnecessary twists. Still, I did like the way the show executed the final showdown with the villain - it was a touching scene, well played by the actors.

The other criticism I had was how the show mostly failed in using fitting sound effects or background music. What I heard did not match the mood appropriately, especially in the first part of the show. Although, it did seem that the music producers/editors got better towards the end. Overall, this lakorn was highly entertaining. It's packed with drama and action with multiple murder attempts, actual murders, love obsessions, betrayals, and secrets galore, with a good amount of underlying romantic currents and comedy to balance things out.

A drama with 31 episodes I was really skeptical to watch this lakron for its typical Thai drama plot. But later was convinced for episodes marked were 45minutes each and the leads Bua and Pop Thagoon.

The show started great but there are a lot of plot holes, the good storyline and character requirements and development covered these loops. Sina, a stuntwoman was getting celebrity attention which never happens. They get appreciated but the way she was hiding and her popularity showed that was too much. Siriya was asked to remarry in the will, which was actually disgusting but by the end, I understood that the dead brother trusted Athirat.
The story is fast-paced with multiple twin switches, hide and seek chasing with ample amount of humor, and Villains with too many bad deeds, and the truth of the accident was webbed nicely. By the end, the story is a bit draggy due to the many supporting characters story. But still, the end is satisfactory.

About acting chops am a fan of Bua, she plays every character with ease. But playing twins was rather difficult. Sina's character had enormous energy, bubbly and strong while Siriya's character lacked depth, she was in a wheelchair but had no enthusiasm or nervousness, and Bua's expression lacked to express her pain.
Pop Thagoon as Athirat was nice in his angry mode. He was in pain since childhood but still showed his lovable side when he starts to care.
The child actor Khun Suay is very adorable. He acted nicely in every situation. He cried when scared and laughed when happy.

If anyone wants to watch they can start from the beginning and if get bored then could skip to watch last 7episode

I felt a little bit sorry for the villain

Watching this drama, I was annoyed by the fact that the female lead Sina couldn't see how her sister siriya was also wrong for becoming a mistress.I found it unfair how p'nat husband treated her and I could understand why she went crazy. Yes, she took it too push far by killing people but I feel like Khun Pipop is the true villain here.He deceived siriya that he was a single man and made her a mistress and still gave her most of his inheritance ,neglecting his wife that really loved him and was his legal wife.Anybody in her situation will be angry but she really went extreme and I totally condemn that, if she was evil from the start ,some actions would have been justified but to push her to the curb just because she couldn't have a child is unfair.

I knew she was the culprit right from the beginning but the drama kept trying to deflect and prolong the suspense but it really wasn't hard to figure out but I liked how they explained and showed us how things happened and made it all come together.

I love how Sina was a strong character and could equally fight, i wasn't too happy with some of her actions especially when she was alienating p'nat but I get she was trying to protect her sister and she was such an independent strong character that we don't see often in a Thai lakorn.
I really liked the male lead and how nice and warmhearted he was and the chemistry between him and Sina was nice to see.I really wished they had more romantic scenes together .

Honestly this drama got really boring in the middle and I felt like this drama shouldn't have dragged the episodes, like nothing was happening ,they could have told cut out 10 episodes and the story would have be more enjoyable.

P'Nat was a very pitiable character to me ,definitely more than siriya ,even though I don't blame her because unlike siriya ,p'nat didn't get a lot of love from people especially from her husband and it was really sad how she couldn't have children but yet wanted them so badly.It just shows that no matter what someone does to you, it should never cause you to lose yourself and become evil.

In conclusion, the story would have been better with more romantic scenes and less episodes ,I would have given this drama a 7 become it did get boring but I gave it a 7.5 because of the refreshing male lead and the supporting characters especially P'nuan.

A top-notch CL and a smart story

Excellent lakorn with as CL Pop / Bua

PLOT: the FL, stuntwoman, takes the place of her twin sister, paralyzed, mistress with a child of a killed CEO, to investigate and open the inheritance to her nephew. The family, rich owners of a chain of imported cars, is made up of the mother, the sister-in-law, the CEO's ex-wife and her sister, and the adopted brother (the ML). All are hostile and threatening toward the FL. Who among them killed the CEO and tried to assassinate the FL's sister ?

PROS:
+ an awesome CL, with Pop and Bua. Their interactions are intense and their chemistry is top notch!
+ the great Villain is human, tormented, almost touching. Kudos.
+ a touch of comedy from excessive characters (the servants and the manager).
+ The production is well done, without downtime, with constant suspense and clues given at the right time.
+ The story is (relatively, it's a lakorn ?(･_･;? ) realistic and the dialogues intelligent.

CONS (all lakorns have some flaws :)
- the vision of women in lakorns is pathetic, reduced to being subjected to family pressure, the desires of men, etc. The FL is an exception here, since she lives most of the time in the USA. She is strong and determined. But the others!!...
- the general final redemption (to allow for the happy ending) is always a little ridiculous and far-fetched.

=> a lakorn that keeps you in suspense for 45 hours (｡◝‿◜｡)

Excellent lakorn avec en CL Pop / Bua

PLOT: la FL, cascadeuse, prend la place de sa sœur jumelle, paralysée, maitresse avec enfant d'un CEO tué, pour enquêter et ouvrir l'héritage à son neveu. La famille, riche propriétaire d'une chaine de voitures importées, est composée de la mère, la belle-sœur, l'ex femme du CEO et sa sœur, et du frère adoptif (le ML), tous plus hostiles et menaçants les uns que les autres. Qui parmi eux, a tué le CEO et tenté d'assassiner la sœur de la FL ?

PROS:
+ un CL génial, avec Pop et Bua. Leurs interactions sont intenses et leur alchimie au Top !
+ la great Villain est humaine, tourmentée, presque touchante.
+ une touche de comique apportée par des personnages excessifs (les domestiques et la manager).
+ La réalisation est bien menée, sans temps mort, avec un suspens constant et des indices donnés au bon moment.
+ La story est (relativement, c'est un lakorn ?(･_･;? ) réaliste et les dialogues intelligents.

CONS (all lakorns have some flaws :)
- la vision de la femme dans les lakorns est pathétique, réduite à subir la pression familiale, les désirs des hommes, etc. La FL est ici une exception puisqu'elle vit la plupart du temps aux USA. Elle est forte et déterminée. Mais les autres !!
- la rédemption finale générale (pour permettre la happy end) est toujours un peu ridicule et tirée par les cheveux.

=> un lakorn qui vous tien en haleine pendant 45 heures (｡◝‿◜｡)
