so I really like this show. I think that the story is very entertaining and the cast did very well with the roles. the reason that I can't give this show a 10 is because of the storyline about Xinya trying to commit suicide. I feel like that was not well done and a bit insensitive. as a person with friends who have tried to commit, I know how it feels to be worried about a friends mental health. the thing that made me even more upset was the girl telling Xinya to hurt herself so that Si Tu Feng would stay with her. I know that it's just a story, but I just felt a bit disgusted watching Si Tu Feng and Chen Qing Qing getting blamed for Xinya wanting to hurt herself. I feel like there were different things that the show could've done other than suicide. and in reality, Xinya would've been sent to a mental hospital for attempted suicide over a boy. again, I really like the show, but I can't get over this plot line. A short romcom
I watched the whole drama in 2 days. I love that the conflict/problems that the leads faced are solved fast.Some scene may not be logical but its dramaland, not reality. The story progress fast, i love that. I hate drama that drag things.
This drama would definitely make you want to watch the next episodes as theres conflict in every episodes. But the worst conflict is Xinya basically indirectly forcing Situ Feng to marry her, just because shes in love with him and would kill herself if his not with her. C'mon Xinya is in student council, pretty and rich. Over 1 guy she want to kill herself and does she not bear any grudges against Feng who survive the accident but her sister did not.
Anyway, Qingqing is great, she can fight her own battle but she should have tell her identity to Situ Feng when her grandpa approve of him. And Gu Nan Xi is such a great best friend. He really just give way to Situ Feng and did not cause any conflict between the leads eventho he like Qing too.
One thing to complain both of them should have just go abroad to achieve their dreams for awhile since they are still young and its a good opportunity. They could meet again in 2 years or just have LDR.

super light hearted but probably nonsensical to some
okay to start off, i might end up rambling so bear with me.i've been reading the reviews about this show and there have been many different point of views on this show, some really love it bc of how cute and "fluffy" the relationship between the ML and FL are but some might find it really nonsensical bc the story line is very unrealistic and lacks depth.
i understand both points and i do agree with the criticism it gets, like how the conflicts really lacked emphasis. "oh there's a conflict, wait it's resolved already?" there was no overarching conflict that started from the beginning and it all seemed like small hiccups. but nevertheless, it's probably why it super light hearted.
for example, i don't think is really realistic for someone to actually give up their dreams to be with someone but ofc it's their own decision. furthermore how can one run all the way backto school without stopping, and what happens to the balloons that the clown let go? many plot holes and really cliche, but it's the norm. you can't expect a deep story line for a lighthearted school romance drama.
okay but i'm not some drama expert, but from what i see, the directions actually put quite a lot of effort into the small details and after rewatching it a second time, i noticed how the couples try to wear matching clothes that are either the same colour of have colours that go well with each other most of the time. i think that is really cute and if you are to rewatch/watch it you can look out for these :)
now, i really loved the songs esp star and it was played at the most crucial part which was one that i think was really iconic. this review is becoming a mess but overall, if you're up for a light going drama this is for you. i would recommend watching this after you finished a sad drama, and you feel absolutely heartbroken. no promises it's your kind of drama but it's worth the watch ☻

It is supposed to be cute but has a wrong message
The show starts off OK. A girl running away from an unwanted wedding is in disguise and meets a pop star idol. Even though she is not "pretty" he eventually falls for her.Sounds like a cute story. The leads are OK, a little on the silly side and the typical silly misunderstandings, but there are some really not so healthy things in this show. In the end the pop star idol would rather his girlfriend continue to be ugly because he is jealous of the attention she gets when she is pretty. I mean so basically she cannot be herself, what is that even saying. Plus I actually think the :ugly" version of the character is better than the "pretty" version. Second there is a back story of how the ML killed a friend in a car accident, yes it was an accident but he was recklessly driving fast and she told him to slow down. I mean he should be in jail or something, Then there is the toxic mean girl. Really a stereotype, until she becomes suicidal and forces the ML to get engaged with her. He agrees cause she tried to kill herself twice because of him liking someone else. I mean sure let's encourage that behavior instead of getting her psychiatric help. She doesn't really seem to learn or change and she has a friend that encouraged her to practically kill herself in order to get the ML. Then there is the ex-fiancee of the FL and his toxic personality.
I mean there were so many questionable story lines. If I was young girl or had a your female in my house and I would never let them watch something with such bad role models.
There was some good things I did like. The ML leads's best friend Gu Nanxi is adorable, I would have picked him over the ML. The second couple is also a plus. Lin Yiyang has the most character growth, and is the only person that seemed to grow up. He starts as a bully reacting to the death of the friend and girl he liked that the ML killed. He is rightly angry at the ML and blames him. He eventually realizes that his actions are hurting others especially the FL lead's friend Zhang Fangfang. While she is a bit timid it is understandable as she is a poor scholarship student that feels inferior to all of the rich snobs. Those two together help each other grow and become better versions of themselves. they had a far more mature and healthy relationship than the main couple.
Also what kind of college was it that they attended? I mean did they learn anything besides how to play dodgeball.
I mean it was a light weight show and not to be taken serious, but they could have put some effort into the story and making more than 3 people likable.

When I first started watching this show, I was hooked and completely loved the storyline. It was the basic romance drama that I needed at the time.... or so I thought. Because....
What in the toxic ass hell was this? It was amazing show until episode 25. Like even throughout the whole thing, you know Xin Ya is just a complete waste of oxygen. I get all dramas have to have the "bitch" but she seriously takes the cake.

Episode 25 and on from the "if you aren't with me, I'm going to kill myself!" bullshit ruined the whole show for me. I shit you not, I was full ass ready to give this show 10 stars but when that dumb shit happened, it killed EVERYTHING good about the show.
Oh and let's not forget our bullshit happy ending. What even was that?
Okay he could have gone to the states and did music. She could have went to Japan and grew her artwork. But noooooo it was "why would you chose that over me?!" for them both!
Gee, I don't know -- why not go to the states (not even moving btw. Just to do music. a few months to a year max. BooHoo) and go to Japan, DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO BREAK UP!!!! Good fucking gah you could have stayed together and actually did something with your lives. But no. You picked a guy who broke up with you to marry someone else for a second. And you picked a girl that made you chose her over your music. They both lost out in the end.
"BuT ThEy HaVe LoVe AnD EaCh OThEr" uh huh until they reach 30 and start resenting each other which ends with divorce and a neglected kid.
I have a burning hate for this show if you haven't noticed. I mean I guess I should have knew I was going to end up hating it when I started questioning and getting pissed when she would never tell him who she was. But let's face it, had he really liked her like his friend did, he would have known it was her just as quickly.
I think the only characters worth a damn in this show was Nan Xi and FangFang.
Which, BTW, not happy FangFang ended up with Yi Yang. Dude is just as toxic as everyone else.
The more I think about this, I really am tempted to rate it lower. It's crazy how those last 5 episodes made a 10 star show really end in 1 star. Only reason I give it 4 was for the early episodes.

I loved it! The music was adorable, and the romance gets super fluffy later on! and the There were a couple things I didn't like, though. Fluff factor-- 10/10! Super fluffy, just how I like it!It honestly could have ended 10 episodes sooner and cut out the marriage guilt and self-harm aspect. I felt like the overall show would have been much better without that. The ending would have been just as good-- if not better-- if they had skipped out on the pink haired girl and went straight for the cute I-didn't-leave-you-also-here's-a-concert-because-I-love-you concert thing. But yeah! Overall super good! <3

Silly but entertaining
If you're looking for an interesting, complex story, this is not the drama for you.It's a silly story, easy to watch, it's funny and sweet, but it has no dept at all. The characters are pretty much only caricatures of the basic drama character tropes (the quirky female lead, the kind second lead, the rich mean "villain") and are very two dimensional. Most of the time, the characters' motivations are not clear, they just do things for no reason. If you leave aside the logic and common sense for a moment, it is fun to watch. I enjoyed it, even though I rolled my eyes more than once at how ridiculous some situations are.

If you like the enemies to lovers trope, you'll LOVE this drama!
First off, this was my very first international drama that I had ever watched. I loved it from beginning to end! The whole enemies to lovers trope was so well-written and it was a very fine line that slowly but gradually became crossed. When the two main leads would bicker, I would crack up laughing and when they would have their sweet moments I was like "Awwwww!". The OST is pretty great and I enjoyed listening to the ML's singing at different points throughout. The FML was quirky and quite funny and her backstory was so interesting (not gonna give any spoilers). The ML was intriguing and there were few moments where his acting was a bit stiff (I think this was his first lead role if I'm not mistaken), but I still enjoyed watching him overall. The second FML in this drove me absolutely crazy, in the best way possible--because she essentially plays the mean girl role and does it extremely well. The second ML was cute but, he didn't really stand out to me too, too much. Overall, as I said this drama has enemies to lovers trope written to a T! Cute and quirky
This is a cute and quirky show. I have watched it 3 times now! It is one of my very first CDramas and it hooked me! I recommend you watch it. It is a Netflix Original. Just a warning if you don’t have Netflix.Story- was good except when they threw in her ex fiancé in the last few episodes. He was going to “drive a wedge” between them. Ya like what happened with that? ? It was really NOT needed!
The ending was satisfying. Thank goodness! If you read some of my reviews the ending is always my biggest hang up.
In some parts of the show it was like they hand one of the actresses do their voice in an empty room when she was obviously outside and not indoors. It sounded bad! Did something happen to her voice while filming and so they dubbed it over with her in a room to save time or something??? I wonder if they honestly go through these shows and clean them up or if they just throw them out there once they have it done. It drives me nuts. Lol
Acting/Cast- I love the cast! They all did a great job. I think the main leads are my most favorite!
Rewatch- yep I will watch it again and again! I like that most episodes are about 30-35 minutes. It is amazing what they pack in that short of a time frame!
Also this show introduced me to Pocky Sticks! Haha my kids love them! Glad my Walmart sells them.?

What a let down
I was actually rather enjoying the show for the most part. Fairly decent cast a really cute bully/3ML. 3ML arc was my favorite part. Yi Yang and Fang Fang were so cute together.The main story and couple Qing Qing and Situ Feng were cute enough and at the beginning I really loved Qing Qing's independence and NGAF attitude but in the latter episodes she really got on my nerves as did Situ Feng. But the thing I hated the most was that the last 5 episodes were just really meh and the whole storyline with Xin Ya's behavior during those eps was too damn much and it's a trope I hate above all others. Nothing redeeming about that shit!!
I wanted this to be a light, fun, romcom with cute ending but it was super annoying!

The story line is perfect for me . We got to see not only the relationship between the main character and other side characters . From love to family to friendship to celebrity business!
The Story is so not only funny but romantic. It has many cute scenes that got me wanting to keep watching . The chemistry between the two main leads was perfect !
The music was great too , i even added one of the songs to my playlist .
If you are a fan of cute, short heart warming dramas , then this one is definitely for you !

It’s been a year
Ok so fair warning I haven’t watched this drama in over a year and am now just reviewing it. I can’t really tell if I liked this drama or not. I will certainly give it something for it’s addictive quality. I binge watched this shit on a school night and got no sleep. I went to school and then continued to watch it in class. Another reason I liked this drama was because I enjoyed the female lead’s character well enough and the actress is drop dead gorgeous. I didn’t really care for the male lead. The one main thing I didn’t enjoy about the drama was the plot. A lot of Chinese slice of life(?) dramas have this problem for me. The plot has some events that happen that are absolutely ridiculous and are tropey(is this a word?). But I guess if you’re looking for a sense of escapism, this is your ideal drama.
