Fluffy and simple
This is my first drama review ever, so I hope I'll be able to express my opinion as clearly as possible :)The story is not too complicated once you get into the first couple of episodes. It's very nice to see the FL and ML relationship have their ups and downs. There were episodes that were heartbreaking to watch and others that were pure joy.
There are like always some holes in drama storylines (from my experience so far) but this drama barely had any. That's why I found it easy to follow and not be confused about the relationships everyone had with each other.
One thing I really like is the FL's strong character and will. That's probably why I liked her since the beginning. She's someone who does what she believes in and doesn't give up. She brings out the ML out of his solitary place and could be seen as his 'saviour' (why always the ladies though? xD).
I think I continued watching more for the characters and their relationships with each other, than the actual story lol. I liked the fact that all side characters were strongly present and that they weren't warm from the beginning (which added credibility).
The beginning might be confusing, but if you search for a drama where the ML finds a "robot" (person in disguise) who helps him bring back relationships and people in his life then why not give this drama a try.
Thanks for having read my review, I'll try my best improve my review writing skills and I hope you liked or will like the drama as much as I did or maybe even more ;D
PS: The scenes with foreigners always crack me up, and I don't know if it's the suddden English or the fact that they always need to be pretend to be either from the UK or US

The first few episodes were excellent & I really got into it, but shortly after that the the story progression crawled to complete halt, I did not feel the comedy anymore & in each episode I kept asking myself when will he find out, when will all this pain end? There is a reasonable happy ending, but as many have said there are unanswered questions and overall it does not make me forget all the frustrations I've had before, nor is it satisfying enough to give the drama a very high score. I'm not surprised that the ratings tanked in Korea.I watched this over the course of 2 days, I strongly believe had I watched only 2-3 episodes a day I would have enjoyed it a lot more. I guess there is a limit how much frustration one can deal with in a day.
I feel that this show was a huge missed opportunity. They had a great story to tell & a truly outstanding cast, but there were problems with writing & directing. Chae Soo Bin could clearly act like the perfect Robot, but for some reason, when she was only pretending to be one it felt so unconvincing. It should have been convincing at times and then going out of character for comedic or dramatic effect, but this did not really happen. They could have expanded more on the genuine Aji3, her escape was one of the highlights of the show, but she barely had any screen time. I was waiting for a necklace related scene during the ending, also a big disappointment.

So much better than the summary suggests
I really put off watching this largely because I thought the plot summary sounded so incredibly silly. Ultimately, I was in need of something lighter as I’m trying to work my way through the super-heavy Misaeng. What I discovered was a really engaging story about a male lead who had been betrayed by everyone who he should have been able to trust. The same sort of child trauma has been handled really sloppily in the past, but this story decided not to delve too deeply into it and instead focus on the consequences of not being able to trust easily & how to begin to re-engage with people who are worthy of his trust.
The chemistry between the two leads is so cute and the ML’s range & acting ability is impressive.
So glad I watched this!

Jolie surprise
Yoo Seung Ho m'a épaté.
A découvrir !

Cute Romantic Comedy!
This is quite enjoyable, with a delightful touch of comedy. The actors deliver strong performances, and the music complements the scenes nicely. What sets it apart is its unique plot, further enriched by the excellent chemistry between the leads. The ending was satisfying, brimming with sweet gestures. While the misunderstandings between the characters were understandable, they were resolved in a nice and satisfying manner.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
I didn't know what to expect from this show but it's become one of my favorite Korean dramas ever! What I loved most about this show was that is was so cheesy and corny! It was even so freaking adorable that it always kept a smile on my face! So excited for the next episode so much and always hated those cliffhangers because it was soooo good! Yoo Seung Ho and Chae Woo Bin were by far the best things about this show, they were PHENOMENAL! The two of them together had such an huge effect of me. They made me happy, make me laugh, get mad/annoyed, make me feel their pain and always were able to make me cry. Also, the chemistry was off the charts, that's how good they are together. I shipped them so much, they were what I really only cared about most in this show.
Yoo Seung Ho was already one of my favorite actors to begin with. However, for me, I think this is his best role by far. He needs to do more rom-coms! He was so adorable, sexy and weird. He usually plays characters with the sad past/hard life but for me this character had a bigger effect on me than his previous characters. I came to love his character so much that I feel like I just want him all to myself. Chae Soo Bin, haven't seen much of her but I was impressed. She did a great job at play Ji Ah & Aji 3. But the best thing was Ji Ah pretending to be the Jia 3. You'll see what I mean if you watch! Both of their characters have dreams that they want to achieve and you can't help but root for them. As for the Santa Maria team, you come to care for them as well and appreciate the bond between everyone.
For this being a lighthearted rom-com, it does carry some heavy tones. I warned you before about crying, so have tissues ready! I would definitely recommended this if you're looking for a good story and lovable characters!

A Splendidly Enjoyable, Feel-good Drama
An amusing, light, funny and feel-good Kdrama with none of the usual tropes and makjang, no annoying in-laws nor rivalries, put just pure and simple, pleasant cast mostly. Fell in love with YSH’s character here, one of the best young actors I have ever seen, so matured and excellent, showing such a wide range emotions, from serious to comical, he’s simply lovable. The FL is equally at par with YSH, endearing with her quirky, feisty and inventive main character, likewise with her portrayal as a robot! I have never seen her before, but she acts superbly in this one! Support cast of “scientists” are funny, too, as well as the FL’s best friend, so hilarious. Splendidly enjoyable.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Overrated & cringe
If you are over the age of 13, this is probably not the show for you. I selected "I am not a Robot" because of its popularity on this site. While I did get through the entire series (because I'm a masochist), I rage watched it, expecting it to improve. That's time I can never get back! There are many of the standard K-drama tropes. The rich guy who is super smart but spoiled, self absorbed and socially awkward, and the poor girl who is contantly bullied and denigrated by the men in her life. We are also told over and over again that the female lead only has an IQ of 94 (never mind the flaws in using IQ tests, or that this would be within the range of normal people)...we get it...she's ordinary and a little bit simple. From the very first episode, he mistreated her in a way that made me not like him. If he wasn't really good looking, even the teeny bopper fan girls wouldn't be rooting for this guy.
Secondly, there's the plot itself. I like weird stuff, but this was too weird. First, you have to suspend disbelief that this supposed genius couldn't figure out that this "robot" was a real woman (I promise you, a caveman would have figured this sh** out by episode 2). It was so awkward watching him be attracted to what he essentially believed to be a really pretty appliance.
Finally, the pacing. If it had been written so that only for the first few episodes he thought she was a robot, then the reveal, leading to the development of a genuine romance between two real people, there would have been a chance that this could have been salvaged. Instead, we had to suffer through cringeworthy moments for 2/3 of the show, making it difficult (for me at least) to invest in the characters and their love story.
Now I've seen comments and reviews of other people who didn't like the secondary characters. I don't have an issue with the older guy/younger girl romance. I think the secondary characters were actually better to watch. They injected the realism, humour and drama and showed the most character growth.
To cut a long story short, watch something else!

Last few episodes were better
Plot: I like the concept. Knowing that this will be a fake robot themed drama, I didn’t expect too much on the plot no matter how illogical it was ‘robot’-wise. Same goes with the allergy. Some scenes were quite questionable but shrugged them off instead.Acting: Most of them did good, however, male lead acting had some NOT convincing parts in the middle of the drama especially when he figured out that he was in love with Aji3. It looked forced and I wasn’t emotionally invested.
Music: Some music were okay, some were not memorable.
Rewatch value: I don’t think I will be rewatching. It was kind of boring from Episode 1 to Episode 8, the humor weren’t my type and I couldn’t connect with all of the characters. I was able to feel something starting from episode 13 to episode 14. Despite not showing enough brotherhood with the sta. Maria team, the scenes with them when they miss their brother was convincing. Sadly, 80% of the drama was bland.
Overall: 5-6 stars. I finished this in two days not because I was hooked but because I practically fast forward almost every episode. I wanted to find out how he would react after knowing everything. Knowing that today’s generation is technologically advanced, the idea of a ‘robot’ falling in love with a human was actually good, however, the execution was not convincing enough despite overlooking illogical scenarios.

As far as the storyline goes, I think everything is great. I cannot stress enough just how easy this drama was for me to digest. However, there were a couple of factors that kept it from being amazing. For one, they held off on some extremely crucial information that still needs to be addressed. It was also irritating to see how long it took our protagonist, Kim Min Kyu (played by Yoo Seung Ho), to face his problems.
Casting-wise, I have no qualms whatsoever. I've always been a huge fan of Chae Soo Bin's work so it was really nice to see her again. Plus, It's never an easy task to play two different characters in a single drama, so she definitely deserves a huge round of applause for her efforts. Another person I'd like to shine the spotlight is Ssanip (played by Kim Min Kyu). Just because I don't think I can find a better representation of me in the drama world: forever a third-wheel.
The original soundtracks in this drama will surely give you that warm fuzzy feeling and help ease the aches and pain that come every cold winter. There aren't a lot of dramas where I can confidently say I loved every song they produced, however, this is one of those rare exceptions. The artists did such a wonderful job setting the tone for this entire series. I honestly couldn't be more proud.
Overall, I think this is a must-watch. Even if it isn't exactly your preferred genre, I'm sure it'll ease its way in there somehow. So I guess I'll just end things here by saying I am very grateful for this drama because it pulled me out of a dark time in my life but also thank you, Jesus, for your guidance. Let's only walk the flower road from now on. You a real one.
With that said,
Llama out.
