The definition of rom-com
Even though I went in knowing this was a rom-com, I can't help but feel like I was hoping for a little bit more of everything.Firstly, I've never had so much trouble suspending my disbelief. The whole contract situation felt just odd, and the lack of logic honestly made it hard for me to become emotionally invested in this drama.
While I appreciate strong female leads, I was definitely hoping for more fire between the main leads. We got some at the start, but the main female lead tolerated a lot from the guy that I wish she called him out for. I really didn't feel the relationship between them, but I appreciate that there was no crazy misunderstandings or noble idiocy break-up.
In fact, they were a lot more solid than I expected, and maybe that's one of the reasons also felt like I was waiting for a climax conflict that never really came. Of course, we got all the cliches: the jealous ex, suspicious stock prices, a disapproving family member, fake news...but none of it really hit me as much as I wish it did.
I still enjoyed watching it as a little fun thing to do while multitasking, and one thing that I actually really liked in this was the sismance. In fact, the main FL's best friend was probably my favorite character out of them all, and especially towards the end with the emergence of a side-ship, she had the kind of fire that I thought the main lead was going to have. She stuck by her friend no matter what and their little domestic conversations were so wholesome and fun to watch.

Perfection!
This drama is PERFECTION! It’s an amazing and beautiful story of two opposite individuals who fall in love despite those differences.The plot isn’t bogged down by clichés and contrived situations (thankfully), but on the romance of the two leads, which is just perfect. From the getting to know each other, to falling in love, to resolving conflicts both within and outside, etc. It shows the intricacies and nuances of being in a relationship.
It’s lovely and refreshing to see how mature the two leads are in dealing with situations. How they talk about their problems and didn’t let them drag about.
This drama is really sweet and swoony. The dialogue is intelligent and spot on. The script is fantastic.
It also has the best ending! Perhaps the most satisfying happy ending among all the many dramas I’ve seen!
And the chemistry between the two leads is off the charts, such that it doesn’t seem like they’re still acting anymore. And there’s a lot of skinship, too! Many hugs, kissing(some of the best in Kdrama land, if not the best), and affectionate gestures—the most that I’ve seen in a Kdrama which is great!
I really love this drama. It’s my number 1 favorite. I was so sad when it ended that I had withdrawal for days, heh. Watch it if you like a sweet, swoony romance that makes your toes curl and makes you believe love conquers all!

Onthe positive theres not much evil going on and theres alot of kiss scenes which are good. Kdramas are notorious for mediocre and few of them. It's just 40 minutes so it goes by faster.
Its a good show to pass time. Finished in a day and a half

A Slow Burn Romance with Classic Charm
Something about 1% is a drama that initially took me some time to warm up to, especially regarding the lead characters. At first, I was uncertain if they could carry the story in a way that would engage me fully. However, as I continued watching, my appreciation for the show and its characters grew, eventually leading me to truly enjoy the series. It has that classic, old-school drama vibe that brings a sense of nostalgia and simplicity, which is quite refreshing in contrast to the more complex narratives seen in many of today’s dramas.What I particularly loved about this drama was the dynamic between the leads. Their chemistry evolved in a genuine and heartfelt manner, making their journey together as a couple truly captivating. Despite my initial reservations, their relationship development became one of the aspects I appreciated most. However, I wasn’t a fan of the breakup episodes, which felt like a forced plot device to add unnecessary drama and tension. Despite this, they left a lasting impression, reminding me of the charm and appeal of older, simpler romantic comedies. It’s a testament to the show that, despite its flaws, it can win over viewers with its heartfelt moments and endearing characters.

Predictable and tropey with charming leads
This is a remake of an older drama from 2003. As such it has many of the tropes that are considered classics in the land of dramas: fake dating, a sum of money as part of the contract which becomes something of a mcguffin, jealous x-girlfriends, a dramatic kidnapping incident, a rich man and a poor woman, etc. A drama from the early 2000s that's filled to the brim with these familiar story set-ups is usually forgiven because it's 'of its time', the trouble when adapting is that people don't necessarily want that in a modern drama. A good example would be the 2018 remake of Meteor Garden, which struggled through some of the more problematic plot points taken from the 2001 version while having none of the original's charm.However, Something about 1% manages to be light, fun and surprisingly earnest. It leans in to the tropes of its story while imbuing them with more sweetness, heart and gentleness than the original. Sure we've got the ridiculous shenanigans of a fake dating contract and shareholders scheming to try to get back at the ML for edging them out in the hotel business, but we never forget what the real heart of the story is: two people falling in love with each other. The chemistry between the leads is incredible and the kiss scenes were refreshingly passionate rather than reminding me of two dead fish touching their lips together in surprise. The story is cliche, the costumes and setting feel low-budget and simple, but the leads have such bright and crackling chemistry that the whole thing feels fun and fresh rather than tired and boring.

Mi é piaciuto che non ci siano eccessivi drammi (malattie, sofferenze atroci ecc.). Inoltre le amicizie sono tutte sincere e leali e questa é una cosa che adoro.
Non mi é piaciuta la storia in alcuni punti inoltre lui la bacia tante volte ma parla dei suoi sentimenti solo alla fine (cosa che ho trovato un pò assurda).
Non mi sono piaciuti i costumi di scena, soprattitto quelli di lui che spesso non lo valorizzavano.
Il finale é carino e mi ha soddisfatta.
La ost mi è piaciuta.
Non merita più di 7 su 10 per me.
In definitiva la consiglio a chi cerca qualcosa di non eccessivamente impegnativo.

I think the best word to describe this drama would be lukewarm.
It was cute, it was entertaining. But it lacked spark for me. I don't think the chemistry between the leads was there. When they looked at each other I didn't see love. There was just fondness at best, like when you gaze at a loved pet or a young child. The OST had to work hard and pull a lot of weight to infuse some more feeling into a lot of the more emotional and pivotal scenes. Yay for ballads I guess.I also had some issues with the characters and plot, too. The ML was quite abusive in some of his behaviors and the FL was too meek and floormat-y for my liking. Plot wise, I found it really dumb how the story basically went from "forced/arranged marriage" to "we could never get married because one of us is rich, the other isn't, and our families and society would never approve". It was so dumb. Like the first episode never even happened. Not to mention the fact that in this universe, apparently, super rich people somehow don't interest the media at all (and receive absolutely no news coverage ever) and are un-google-able ?

Fun, Funny, Simple and Cute
Firstly, It was so fun to watch this. It was acted in 2016 but I decided to have a 2009 mindset because their mannerisms were from that time. If you can go into it with that perspective then it can be fun. It’s very simple and lighthearted, which is what I wanted when I started watching it. A lot of it can be perceived as very sexist so if you hate that then you can stay clear. But like I said 2009 mentality lol. It was more fun than I thought it would be and has half the cheesy lines in this entire world loved that. It was funny too. So as one of the comments sort of says only in Dramaland does this count as a fluffy Romance. (@green_tokki)There's nothing new about the story as you can tell by the synopsis but that's not a problem if the cast and writers put it all together well. Contract relationship, rich man poor woman etc. etc.
On the whole from the eight episodes I watched they didn't do too badly, nothing intense, nothing special it just concentrates on the Leads relationship. Which is touted as one of it's strengths but for me it's the fatal flaw. Without any background buzz to soften it the ML's abusive behaviour just becomes unavoidable.
She's supposedly strong but apart from a couple of kicks in the shin she just gives in to everything. Unsolicited and supposedly unwanted kisses? I'll stamp on your foot but still do what you want, let you drag me around by the wrist =, barge into my house, whatever. Creepily help me make something by awkwardly sitting behind me and putting your arms around me? Fine. Drag me into restaurants, cars whatever..
Friends brother you've known for years? You can't talk to him, drags her away from him; can't call him Oppa, I nearly gagged when she was being all apologetic about forgetting and saying Oppa in the car.
She gets a bunch of flowers from a student (admittedly a young idol) and is carrying them when she sees him- without knowing anything about who gave them, he throws them in the bin and drags her off.
She dresses up after overhearing him saying how dowdy she was and all he does is panic about other men finding her attractive. No compliment, no pride in having an attractive fiance, nope, covers her up with his coat and drags her off to get changed. Tells her friend off for lending her the clothes. He likes her dowdy and unattractive to other men.
Physically aggressive, controlling, manipulative, unpleasantly jealous...What a twat! Got to the point where I disliked him so much I didn't care if he changed and just hoped she got counselling to help her stop being a victim.
I feel ashamed it took me so long to drop it.

Fluffiest drama with the best chemistry
I am writing this review after my second watch. I came back to this because the chemistry of the actors is out of this world.The story is a total cliche. And the premise for why the two get together is classic kdrama bs. What makes this drama different for me is that the main female lead isn't a complete pushover. She can sass the male lead and put him in his place, and she's the only one who can do that. I absolutely abhor cardboard female leads that are just made to be walked all over.
The couple's relationship isn't perfect, but that's what makes this so much better. The characters act reasonably, and conflicts are resolved in a reasonable amount of time, without being dragged on by uninspired writers. The fluff moments are beyond cute due to how happy the two main actors seem to be when they're together.
Overall, I would rewatch this again and again.

Least memorable drama of all time
I haven't seen this drama on anyone else's list, but I started it cause I heard good things about chemistry between the leads. Despite the drama being fairly fast paced, which retained my interest, I think the plot itself is entirely forgettable. The ending wrapped things up really nicely and made me pretty emotional. I seriously wasn't a fan of some of the aspects of their relationship, however, such as the guy trying to control what the girl wears all the damn time and the girl thinking it's okay to hit the dude if she's mad. I don't condone physical violence in a relationship even if it comes from a woman rather than the man. No double standards please!Esta resenha foi útil para você?
