(This is my first review)
At first I thought this drama was going to create a Korean version of Sherlock Holmes (has that been done?) but the direction switches and a much deeper and tragic plot emerges. The plot is fantastic and I think it is the strongest aspect for this drama. Although there are mostly dark themes evoked in this drama, I appreciated the light moments that are nicely timed and blended with it.
I love the fact that no over-blown romance happened between Cha Ji An (Jang Na Ra) and Lee Hyun (Seo In Guk). In the end, you understand that they care for each other and the pace of their relationship is realistic given Hyun's personalty.
I first saw Jang Na Ra in Baby-Faced Beauty so when I realized her role in this was a police officer, I had my doubts. She is so cute and petite. However, her acting was brilliant to the extent that all doubts were tossed aside.
This is the first drama I've seen with Seo In Guk and he is amazing in this. He never came out of character except when it seemed fit (during the last few episodes). Personally, I think because of his character's cold and unfriendly behavior 99% of the time, the moments when he cried were profound and heart-breaking. You remember that he is still human.
Choi Won Young plays the "bad guy", Lee Jun Ho, excellently. I think the beauty of his character is that the crime he committed is controversial and requires you to really think about what he has done. Which makes me appreciate Cha Ji An's inability to be swayed by Lee Jun Ho's view of himself not doing anything wrong.
Lastly, I feel the ending hinted on a season 2? That would be awesome.
The sound-track is absolutely fitting and lovely.
The moments when Hyun and Jung Seo Ho (Park Bo Gum) spend together as brothers are so adorable.

What I didn't like about this drama (minor things):
The poster. They make Cha Ji An look like a seductive vixen after Hyun's money. It is totally out of her character! Cha Ji An is smart, strong, messy, and clumsy as hell! Make her look that way!

I wish they had spent a little more time developing the closeness of the two cops, Eun Bok and Min Seung Joo. Yes, you get the idea that they are a tight knit team but when Eun Bok "gets in trouble", Min Seung Joo tosses out that he is like a "brother" to him. I felt that that was just thrown in there. I never really felt that those two characters where THAT close. I would have believe it more if he had called Eun Bok a best friend.

The team's outfits. The first time I saw the team I thought they were drop-outs from fashion school. These characters are POLICE OFFICERS and only once was I ever convinced they were dressed for the part. HOW CAN YOU RUN IN THOSE SHOES?

Overall, I recommend this drama.
P.S. It is really hard to not post spoilers but I respect that.

I decided to sleep on this before I even attempted to write a review because there was just so much to process!
Easily put, this drama was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

I'm a fan of Jang Nara and admittedly not as much for Seo In Guk, I only really knew him from his Master's Sun time, but these guys...this story... oh man where do I start...

Okay, so they've been promo'ing it as a rom com, but really the basis of it is a crime procedural with sprinkles of fluff, but don't be scared off, you'll be so into the main story and the cases that the sprinkles of fluff we get are short and sweet...and realistic.. This couple, their trust and faith in each other is developed so nicely that if anything, I'm glad there isn't toe curling fluff in it! (not gonna lie, when they do have cute bits, its definitely cuuuute).

No joke, this drama had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning, its been a long time since i've stayed up till 4am to watch a drama because the cliff hangers are just too good!! The mix of human nature, our childhood experiences, what makes us who we are, different scenarios that affect how we grow up and into the people we are as adults are only parts of what are explored.
I loved loved loved the fact that we got such an indepth relationship with all the characters, no one was missed out, they all had their own storylines, all of which made me wonder 'ohhh thats probably why they did what they did' or 'your one action affected this entire thing'.

Even though, you get whats basically expected in a crime drama, there are killers, a lot of corpses, killing, blood, weapons for murder, but It's been interesting that for once, I couldn't have predicted what was going to happen, they dropped the most shocking moments and turning points of the story that its left me :O for most of it. Each case was exciting to watch as you attempted to solve the crimes alongside the characters, whilst having an ongoing mystery that started at the very beginning and weaves itself in and between cases all the way through to the end.

The acting was awesome, I'm so glad the actors and actresses took on their roles for this drama as I couldnt really imagine anyone else doing them, the antagonists in this, even though I know the character isnt really but their facial expressions still gives me the chills when I imagine them! The actual songs, were a nice accompaniment to the drama scenes but to be honest, i was too sucked into the storyline to have noticed and paid attention to them enough...!

The instrumentals for scenes in this drama did its job, my mood instantly changed to fit the scene as soon as they came on, exceptionally chilling in the suspenseful scenes and then light in their cute moments.

So maybe i was a teeny tiny bit disappointed with the ending, not to say i didnt like it. I was satisfied that the ending chose to give us a more meaningful end to the drama, but the with suspense that was building up i thought we were going to have some really dramatic cliffhanger of an ending. All in all i could accept their ending :) For me, no storyline or character was left unanswered so that was good.

Overall, this drama was refreshing, with a thriller, full of suspense, psychological crime drama that weighed everything out a bit with their fluff moments that created an amazing storyline to follow. One that I didn't get bored of, rather was addicted to from start to end, and even after you end up thinking more about the messages they left behind the actions that happened during the drama.

I would definitely rewatch this again!

I've seen some epic and better used words and descriptions for reviews on I Remember You down there, but I had to express my feelings on this... :')

This is one of the best dramas I’ve seen this year, although I do enjoy the mystery genre a lot. The writing was top-notch and I felt that the cast were really suited to their roles, from the smart-yet-cheeky Lee Hyun to the adult who experienced an emotional rollercoaster as a childhood. The story was written in such a way that I knew what some of the characters was wrong, both legally and morally, yet I could somewhat emphatise with how they were feeling.

From some of the reviews I’d read, it seemed that some people found the storyline slow to begin with and I tend to agree, although these first few episodes were really setting the scene for some really good storytelling from Episode 5 onwards. I found myself more and more drawn to the character of Attorney Jang, as well as the budding partnership between Lee Hyun and Cha Ji-an. The focus in the main characters is certainly there, but I found myself also interested in other side-stories such as the Chief Planning Officer / Hyun’s guardian and the relationship between Team Leader Kang and his father.

The music and soundtrack played was generally suitable to the scenes and the acting, but there wasn’t really a piece of music which was really memorable for me (then again, I’m not really a music person, it takes a really good song to stick in my head).

I probably wouldn’t rewatch this drama, I really enjoyed watching the storyline unfold and I think it just wouldn’t be as enjoyable the second time around. Also, I don't tend to rewatch many dramas so this low rewatch rating doesn't at all reflect how much I enjoyed it the first time round. For now, I’ll stick to watching cuts of the incredibly cute moments between the brothers!

This drama has a great plot. It kept me interested all the while and although you can guess halfway through who is actually who, the suspense stays. The romantic part was minor, but nice.

There are a few minor flaws, but they are at a minimum. And I would have preferred a slightly different ending, a warmer one (unless they plan a second season).

I think the best thing about this drama was how it makes you change your feelings towards some characters and reflect on your perspective of good/evil and who is a victim and who isn't.

Altogether I would have given it an 8 of 10, but because it kept me glued to the screen it got a 9.

It's worth watching, that's for sure

Writing a short and simple review because I don't think one should waste time in reading long reviews in doubt of starting to watch this drama because as my ratings show, "I Remember You" has one of the best drama storyline this summer with a strong cast that delivers very well. Seo In Guk and Jung Nara fans are going to have a feast watching this!! Special mention to Park Go Bum as Attorney Jeong/Min as his acting kept me engaged from the time he made his first appearance (this boy will go very far!). Not only the storyline was amazingly written, the short romance was portrayed very well and for a person like me who likes Rom-Com, I was left full enough (saying that, for people who expect romance on a level of 10, you might want to make yourself enjoy the crime, mystery rather than being disappointed at the less amount of romance!).

Favourite OST has to be Hong Dae Kwang's - It Shows and Dear Cloud's - I Remember You (this song will give you the jerks, literally!). I don't usually re-watch dramas as such but because this will probably continue to be the best drama in summer 2015, I'd rewatch it anytime I'd feel like. But what's true is that this is definitely worth a rewatch. This drama, is a keeper. Trust me.

--Review end--

If you are still reading upto this point, I'd like to be very honest and say that this is the FIRST time I started a drama that stars Seo In Guk, Jung Nara and Lee Chun Hee. And I'm proud to say that all three of these actors/actress have gained one new fan. In fact, after watching this, I started watching dramas that starred Seo In Guk! This drama gave me a sudden boost to do so! Park Go Bum is someone I'm happy to have come across as I'd like to support him in his career and cheer him on for main leads.

When I see "FL", I think the implies the actor was bad instead of the character she played. Jang Na Ra did a decent job, but her character came off poorly. It felt like the writer had a thriller in mind and was forced to add in a romantic storyline. On top of that, what could have been an interesting character was ruined by some really ridiculous choices. I finished the series because I found the premise interesting enough to see how that turned out. (I do admit to needing to fast forward through some production inconsistencies)

The first time I watched this was back in 2015 when it came out, also when I discovered my current favourite actor (Park Bogum, versatile king !!). I did like it a lot back then and I like it even more now, it's definitely worth it! If anyone asks me for a thriller criminal drama, this is the first thing I would recommend.

Many people had a problem with the main female lead's actress, and being honest, she's not my cup of tea either, but she was not an obstacle for me not to enjoy this drama. The cast was phenomenal, from Kyungsoo's cameo to the police team, everyone did a great job, special props (again) to Bogum for building his character amazingly.

Now, as for the story/plot, that's what I liked the most. Most criminal/law dramas are "there's a culprit that scapes and wants to kill one of the main characters, they work together to find him and finally put him in jail". This was not like that. The characters were so clever, genius, it kinda gave me Death Note vibes sometimes. The development of the story was good, and it was all because the amazing and clever mind of the three main characters (Hyeon, Min and Lee Junyeong). And I'm so so glad the romance was not a main focus here because it would've ruined the whole thing, and instead, that they focused more on Min and Hyeon's relationship. The ending was also amazing, not cliche at all and you definitely do not see it coming. So many things happen on episode 16 that is impossible to predict what will come out of the whole thing.

To sum this up, this drama was genius and not cliche at all, I enjoyed the whole thing and was not disappointed by the ending, though there's one thing that kinda bother me, it's not that "big" and I'm still okay with the way they wrapped it up.

100% recommended, please give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Overall, I Remember You is a favourable and rather satisfying drama! (^_^) With its well-paced story line and logical ending, this drama is easy to follow :) On top of that, it also gives the audiences room for imagination and triggers audiences' thought processes in some of the situation that may happen in our lives!

There are three things that I love about this drama! Well, first, it would definitely be the little thrills I got here and there as I watched the story unfolds i.e. Will Lee Joon Yeong get caught? What would Lee Min's decision be? What happened in the past 20 years?

Apart from that, another highlight of this drama would be the tangled relationship between the three of them, Lee Hyun, Lee Joon Yeong and Lee Min. Especially the relationship between the two brothers, Hyun and Min, their relationship (aka bromance) has touched me emotionally, particularly in the last few episodes. T.T

And one more thing that I really liked about this drama would be the OST - Remember by Dear Cloud!!! There are so much feels in this song as if it is telling/relaying a message on behalf of someone. >.< And that, I would say it is a song from Lee Min to his older brother :'( Like how much Lee Min wants to reunite with Lee Hyun and wanting Hyun to remember him :'(

Hmm, lastly, there aren't much dislikes from me for this drama! :) However, I'm a little disappointed that there isn't much character development in this drama :/ There aren't visible "growth" from the different characters and that, it makes the characters rather "flat" in that sense. But still! Kudos to all the casts who have showed really good acting and portraying of their characters! Especially Lee Min (Park Bo Gum) and Lee Joon Yeong (Choi Won Young)! :D

- For 20 years, I hated you, I missed you, I waited for you, I watched over you...

THIS DRAMA IS A MUST! Don't be fooled it is one of the best drama this year, dunno why it is over-shadowed by Oh My Ghost,She was pretty and Kill me,Heal me In my opinion this drama is above those.
I really enjoy watching dramas flooded with love lines between the mains and especially those where the relationship and the storyline is not overly-done or cliché-like. But SWEET JESUS this drama was the first drama where I thought the love story between him and her was unnecessarily and burdensome and that the plot and bro-romance needed more screentime. She was nerve-wracking (both her as an actress and the character she played imo.),she made me skip most of the love interaction between the two leads (lucky that it weren't many of them :)) ). Seo In Guk was alright I'm not a big fan of his acting (althought I enjoyed how he played in Reply 1997) but damn his facial expresions were so on fleek, in some scenes I really thought he was a psycho-like character or either that he has an unnexpected secret in his sleeves soon to be discovered. My petite new crush Park Bo Gum was so cute and handsome too,his acting was good also, same goes for D.O and his older self Choi Won Young. The casting was awesome but I have a minus for the main female cast. The plot is quite unique and I really cheered up for the bro romance to have more relative screen time.I enjoyed this drama and I recommed it to those who like mystery, detective and action oriented dramas.

When the first news about this drama came out, I'm having doubt about it coz it's not my genre list.
Then news of Seo In Guk playing the lead role broke in, I was excited hearing about it BUT still doubting the pairing with Jang Nara. :)

But as the drama starts and the story developed in each episode, I got hooked and even watch it in livestream.

SIG & JNR's pairing seems OK as the story progresses but what I like most is the chemistry of the 3 psycho, ensemble to find Cha Ji An. :)

Seeing the 3 of them together is what excites me more than the romance of this drama.
The 3 actors (Seo In Guk, Park Bo Gum, Choi Won Young) played it so well. I hope they can get an award for their portrayal.

Just quite dissapointed with the editing in the ending, overall it was good and well-written drama, kudos to you Writernim...

I love the OST, I keep playing it during bedtime, it's like my lullaby :)

For a crime drama, I remember you wasn't as gruesome as others, but a strong character driven story.

Following the life of criminal profiler, Hyun Lee, Hyun returns to South Korea to assist the crime unit with several murder cases. Hyun's adult life was shaped by a tragic incident at 10 years old. A chance encounter with accused murder, Jun Yeong, changes Hyun's relationship with his father, who was an criminal investigator. Hyun's father is murdered, and his younger brother, Min, goes missing the night of the murder. Due to the event, Hyun lost his a majority of his childhood memories. In present day Hyun works closely with criminal team, and detective, Cha Ji An, who has a connection to his past.

Reoccurring characters, lawyer, Jung Seon Ho, and medical examiner, Lee Jun Ho, bring an air of mystery to the series. From Seon ho's almost creepy smile, and Jun ho's curiosity you begin to wonder who they really are or if you're just suspicious of everyone!

I don't personally like series with grisly crime scenes. This drama is realistic in it's reasoning for the criminal mindset, but not so horrific it's too much of a mirror of real life. For the criminal Jun Yeong, you learn how and why he came to be.

I wish the romance was a bit more turned up, but the main focus is the murder cases. A good series to binge watch! The young actors playing Hyun and Min are cheek pinching cute! The added bonus of handsome DO, Park Go Bum, Kim Jae Yeong, and Seo In Guk, just make you want to watch this over and over.

Loved this drama!!! From episode 1 you are left wanting more. It starts off in a typical drama way but then the back story begins to unfold and you really get hooked. DO did a great job playing that psycho. His acting sent shivers. He nailed it. Some of the twists I did expect but the way they were revealed was great. Even though I thought I knew I still learned more about the characters as each episode went on. There was never an episode where I felt bored or like it was a filler. I dreaded getting to the last episode because I didn't want it to end. I loved that one of the underlying messages was that love beats hate. It was subtle and well done. I only wish we got more bromance. Also this was my first time seeing Park Bo Gum and he is absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to see him in other things.
