The first ten episodes weren't that good. The finale really saves this series for me as it was one of the best endings in recent memory.
I think the weird and peculiar situations that some of the side characters had just seemed so off, almost to the point of unbelievable.

While I think the first season emphasized more on food than story. This season was quite the opposite, more story than food.
I liked that the thin gray line between friendship and romance was explored, especially in the last arc. It was the most interesting part of the show to be honest. A sorta will-they-wont-they feel throughout.

I think if you don't relate this back to Season 1, it works surprisingly well. I think if you tie it back then it basically downgrades the first season being all for not but as a complete stand-alone or loose spinoff, it totally works.

Second Season of Let's Eat was kind of more interesting for me at least. The eating wasn't as good as the first season, though they did explore more cuisines. So, fair warning that this drama will make you hungry, even if you aren't really into korean dishes. The story, however, was kind of better, with the mystery interesting, but disappointing in the end, the love story very intriguing and the love triangle very entertaining, but kind of disappointing as well in the end. Actually, the love story was better than the first one, as the two characters were better for each other, and had better chemistry. So, all in all, 7 out of 10.

Great food, cute dog, extremely annoying characters dragged it down

This follows the same formula as Season 1 of Let's Eat. The only character that returns in the Male Lead, our Empty Plate food blogger. Season 2 is just blah because we were let down by the terrible storyline, vapid and often annoying characters and ridiculous situations.

The Good things about this series is they still did great justice to the food, which looks both mouthwatering AND Tasty. They sprinkle in bits of "food" education, but if you're watching this series for the food you'll be completely satisfied. The Male Lead also does a great job at keeping his character fresh, interesting and likeable. This is despite him being surrounded by a collection the most annoying characters ever, including:-
* obligatory nagging busy body elder
* stingy landlord
* drunk , needy co-dependant boss / friend
* social climbing gossiping co worker
* crazy loner psycho tenant
* excessively swearing rich love interest
* beautiful lady who "uses" men
* formerly fat neighbor with food hangups who exercises a lot and basically her tortured relationship with food kind ruined a lot of the happy eating scenes for me. Also the acting was kind of one note for this character.

Also I have mixed feelings about them not calling animal control or some rescue group to take in what is clearly a very cute, purebred dog, who has been "dumped" in the streets. Poor doggo deserves better. One of them should have adopted him, really.

I did finish the series for the food and the cute dog, but contemplated dropping it numerous times just because I was too tempted to just fast forward through the annoying story.

A good food show!

Let's Eat Season 2 is definitely a good Korean food show. I'm glad the male lead Koo Dae-Young (Yoon Doo-Joon) in Season 1 made his way back on season 2. His food speeches have always enlightened the histories and the preparations behind the dishes he encounters throughout the show. However, in this season, another KDY takes on a different approach to eating. That's right! Baek Soo-Ji (Seo Hyun-Jin) disagreed with KDY's way of eating. I loved this idea because it just shows that there're various way to enjoy the same dishes.

KDY remained the same from season 1. He traveled around, selling insurance, and later moved into the same apartment as BSJ.
The female lead BSJ had a troubled past because she was overweight. KDY took advantage of her and approached BSJ, hoping to get her to spend money at his mother's restaurant. KDY's kindness made BSJ fall for him, but the love soon shattered when she found out about KDY's true intentions. Their relationship started off rough, but the two managed to enjoy each other's company down the road.

The story in the second season felt quite disconnected with Season 1. Lee Soo-Kyung (Lee Soo-Kyung), who was KDY's girlfriend was only mentioned once in the first episode. The reason behind KDY breaking up with her remained unknown, so season 2 felt like it's own plot. I wished they would try to connect with the story in the first season.

Anyways, BSJ had the goal of getting married because she doesn't want to live alone by herself for the rest of her life. So she started exercising to lose weight, hoping to become attractive enough for her crush, Lee Sang-Woo (Kwon Yool). BSJ worked as a writer who barely made enough income to pay for her expenses. BSJ eventually gets KDY's help to get closer to LSW, who was a great character in this show. He had a two faced mask, one for work and the other for his close friends to separate his personal life from his work life. LSW had the money to live a luxurious life, but what he craves was not money but a relationship. He was also very thoughtful person, so I think I would enjoy the show more if the BSJ and LSW ended up together.

The show started to break BSJ and LSW apart after all the hard work KDY did in the previous episodes. Sometimes I feel like the show is forcing KDY to be with BSJ. I personally felt like they're really good friends. It doesn't make a lot of sense why BSJ would give up on LSW. The most annoying part was when BSJ became overly obsessive about KDY when he lied about having a girlfriend... like these hidden feelings came in and grew out of nowhere within KDY and BSJ... Why did BSJ not like LSW? was it because the food she eats with him are overly fancy so the portion sizes are small? Did she felt indebt to him because he spent so much money on her? but doesn't that show how much LSW cared for her... she doesn't want his affection? Why was she trying to date him in the first place... For money? No, when she confessed her feelings, it felt genuine and that's why LSW agreed to date her, but in the end... BSJ decided to break up for KDY after reaching her goal... I felt terrible for LSW.

The side characters are pretty dull... I won't mention their names, but they're just fillers with no real development between them. Basically some of them had family problems... There were mystery elements about the guy living on the rooftop. He was hiding his identity and money... which the reasons behind it all was revealed later. These characters did not impact the plot of the story and can be left out. The soundtrack in this show is pretty good, but it can get repetitive as it's used almost every time the characters eat. A lot of sea food in season 2! The cinematography of the food was superb, it made my mouth water :P I will give this show a final score of 7.0/10.

Okish

Eating different countries' food in the most wrong manner is not something we might enjoy. The way Indian food was eaten in the combinations it isn't suppose to be eaten was not enjoyable at all. Although the suspense is good and overall story is good. But it was a little pulled to be longer than usual. The male actor has done a great job but the actual fun of watching the female lead enjoy food in the first season was missing in this one. But the girl with the attitude and bad girl image was just not required. Just to pull a story adding something doesn't make a difference in the good level. On the other hand taking a serious issue such as fat shaming and educating is a good thing.
