The best in representing the enemies-to-lovers trope!
The incredible chase between the main leads is memorable as it was youthful, playful, and impactful. Starting from Sang-U’s sheer coldness towards everyone, it reflects onto his own atmosphere and plays a huge part in emphasizing the contrast between his and Jae Young’s conflicting personalities. Sang-U were consistent in not breaking his known image as Jae Young were consistent in trying to break the said image of Sang-U. All these main points discreetly complete the puzzle that makes this show’s remarkable and wonderful performance.
The conflict that the main leads went through inherently focused on something that is questionably relevant up to this day which had me hoping that they would discuss and portray those problems fairly, and they did exactly that. The take they had towards these problems weren’t exactly as heavy, and it couldn’t be classified as light-hearted as well which makes it perfect to me; especially if you are considering to watch this show and anticipating a light-hearted, cute, and gentle outcome. Moreover, the chemistry between the actors is outstanding, seeing that most viewers are hooked and wanted to know more about the said actors after watching the show (I’m so happy when I found out that they are both K-pop idols! King behavior me thinks). The viewers are immediately attached, including myself, which definitely played a part in making this show successful as it is today.
I’m giving this a 9.5/10 rating, considering all the mentioned points above. I didn’t give this a perfect rating only because of the short episode duration and lack of episodes of the series. I’m still longing for the day when Korean BLs would be able to produce 40 min - 1hr long episodes with 12 episodes or more. If we’re going to talk about the flaws that this series have, it would really just be me wanting more Sang-U and Jae Young interactions. Lastly, this might be a very late review as this ended a few weeks ago, but I'm telling everyone who's reading this review to re-watch this series again as it is definitely worth your time!
