It’s really good. I really enjoyed watching the second season as it focused on what being in a homosexual relationship in a work space and in public was like. Arthit has always been quite shy to express his love for Kongpob, but Kongpob on the other hand is really good at that. Arthit is still uncomfortable about being all lovey-dovey with each other in public and so this leads him to push Kongpob away often.
I completely understand why Arthit would act this way. Kongpob is the first boyfriend he has ever had, and he’s still trying to come around to it. Although he’s been with him for quite a while, he still isn’t fully comfortable. And this leads to him not being so affectionate unlike Kongpob, who craves affection from Arthit a lot.
There are misunderstandings and conflicts between them as both of them choose not to talk with each other at times. Some people were quite bugged about how Arthit was being so distant and/or upset and angry with Kongbop. But to be honest, Kongbop wasn’t informing him about anything, so of course he would get upset.
Eventually the two of them (sort of) take a break. And Arthit took some time to reflect, and when he knew he wanted to be with Kongbop, it made me really happy.
Gay relationships aren’t just sunshine’s and rainbows. Arguments can stir between the two. Some fixed, some not. I find Sotus to be a very romantic and quite real series to me, it being my first Thai BL drama ever.
I didn’t mind the lack of kissing, since when the moments when they interacted romantically still left my heart sore. It was good, nonetheless.
