Ahn Hyo Seop will reportedly return to rom-com K-dramas!
Kim Ji Won will reportedly return to the doctor role after nine years.
On February 14, media outlets reported that Kim Ji Won has been chosen to lead the upcoming medical noir K-drama Doctor X (working title).
Kim Ji Won's agency HiZium Studio responded to the casting reports. According to them, "Kim Ji Won did receive the offer to star in Doctor X. The actress is positively considering the offer."
Doctor X will revolve around the life of the genius surgeon named Ko Soo Jung. Despite her secret past, she uses her incredible surgical skills to take down a corrupt world.
The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Lee Jung Rim who also created the hit series Revenant and V.I.P. Studio Dragon and Studio S will produce the K-drama.
Aside from Kim Ji Won, there are no other reports yet on which actors will also join the upcoming medical noir K-drama.
Doctor X will reportedly premiere on SBS and the filming will begin in the second half of 2025.
If Kim Ji Won confirms her casting, this will be her follow-up project after the successful tvN K-drama Queen of Tears. She showed amazing chemistry with Kim Soo Hyun, Park Sung Hoon, Kwak Dong Yeon, Lee Joo Bin, and Kim Gab Soo.
This will also be Kim Ji Won's possible comeback to the doctor role. In 2016, she starred as a military doctor in Descendants of the Sun alongside Song Hye Kyo.
Kim Ji Won is known for starring in the K-dramas Queen of Tears, My Liberation Notes, Lovestruck in the City, Arthdal Chronicles Part 1-3, Fight for My Way, Descendants of the Sun, The Heirs, To the Beautiful You, High Kick! The Revenge of the Short Legged, and more.
