A refreshing drama with hint of comedy

Honestly this drama is so good. At first I did not have much expectation as I just finished watching twinkling watermelon and other time travel dramas but this one was just so good.

The story is about the girl Im Sol who lost her leg in an unfortunate accident. She resented the person who saved her and thought she was better off dead but turns out that her idol who gave her the motivation to live Ryu Sun Jae is the one who saved her. When Ryu Sun Jae commits suicide Im Sol is devastated and just wants to save Sun Jae and somehow she ends up coming back to year 2008 where Ryu Sun Jae is her neighbour!! She is determined to change their fate but that is not all turns out that from high school Sun Jae has always liked Sol!!
The way they added a sense of humor in it (especially that c*ndom scene) was hilarious.
The story is good too I didn't ven realise that I finished watching 12 episodes in 2 days!!
As for cast...this drama is just eye candy because all the cast are so pretty. Byeon woo seok just stole the whole show with his visuals and his acting? Excuse me but it was so good the female lead too I watched her other drama too like extraordinary you and I have to say she did not disappoint!! All in all this is a must watch drama!!

Kinda long but was worth it..

Honestly I felt the the drama was too long. The frequent timeline changes and the story going in circles at a point, kinda made it boring for me. The ending of the villain felt boring, could have made it a bit better but I guess it was along the lines of a life for a life. The initial episodes were pretty good, the story was enticing, but like with most kdramas, the middle become monotonous. The series could have been wrapped up perfectly in 12 episodes. But the last episode, enduring till the last episode, made everything worth it. It was lovey dovey for sure but it showed what kind of life they both could have lived if it wasn't for the villain. The cute moments stole my heart.
On the characters, I have to say that Taesung was the one who won my heart. I loved his character, it provided the comic relief as well as the seriousness. While Sunjae and Sol were loved by everyone, Taeseung and Bae Inhyuk captured my attention more. Overall, all the actors did an amazing job. Would I rewatch it? No. But if you are thinking about watching it, give it a chance, it's a good story with frustrating, happy and sad moments. But all in all, it was worth it.

A Heartwarming Rom-Com with Rewarding Rewinds: A Review of Lovely Runner (2024)

"Lovely Runner," a charming rom-com directed by Yoon Jong Ho and Lee Shi Eun, is a delightful journey filled with laughter, romance, and a dash of time travel. Starring Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon, the drama delivers a winning combination of strong performances and a captivating story.



What truly elevates "Lovely Runner" is its execution. The directors weave a heartwarming narrative that perfectly complements the central romance. The chemistry between Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon is undeniable, making their characters' connection both believable and deeply endearing.



While I can't say everything was flawless, the overall experience was thoroughly enjoyable. I found myself eagerly anticipating each new episode, eager to see where the time travel twist would take the story and the characters.



"Lovely Runner" might not be a revolutionary drama, but it does what it sets out to do: deliver a heartwarming and entertaining rom-com experience. For fans of the genre, this is a must-watch.

A truly well executed time travel kdrama, way way above Twinkling Watermelon.

This is the best kdrama I've seen since a very long time. (probably since It's Okay to Not Be Okay)
The only serious problem I have with it is the villain's lack of personality/backstory and how they just dealt with him under 3 minutes in the finale. I could nitpick If I really wanted to, but I fail to see the point.
I always say that explaining the inner workings of time travel always ruins immersion in time travel shows, luckily in this one they have not even tried. (it's better to keep the unexplainable unexplained)

Everything else is pretty good, the cast is great, the chemistries are great. The romance is up there with the best, there are countless very fluffy and or very touching moments. Love triangle haters are safe to enjoy this as well, because the secondary love interest is weak like a straw. The ending is a banger too.

Anyway 9/10 seems fair to me. It's not perfect or anything, for example Someday or One Day is better in this genre, but I'm very happy that Korea can still deliver something of this caliber, since it's been so long..

The best kdrama in 2024 or even in the history of kdrama

The movie Lovely Runner was well written, well executed and won all other big budget drama production by a mile. The actors and actresses were all professional and executed their parts well. There were so many layers to the story that it is rich in relationships, storyline and presented a multi-dimensional yet entertaining, heart-warming and tear-inducing plot.

The love between Sunjae and ImSol, between ImSol and her mum, between ImSol and her maternal grandma, between Sunjae and his dad, between TaeSang and his dad were all so real, warm and relatable. The friendship between Sunjae and his bandmates, between ImSol and her bestie, the rivalry between Sunjae and TaeSang tucked a string in viwers heart. The hilarious boss of ImSol, the funny yet helpful driver of Sunjae, the pure kind hearted parents who hosted the gang in Tampuri, it was simply too much to take in all at once. Even the villain put up a good fight and made a deep impression on viewer.

I could not praise the supreme acting by the many good actors and actresses enough (particularly the leads, who braced freezing cold winter water for the filming), the writer, the directors, the lighting crew, the unsung heroes who made this show possible. I nearly to forget to praise the OST!!

So many memorable and catchy tunes by all the singers!!! The achievement by fiction band Eclispe and Byeon Woo Seok (who is not even a singer and yet sang Sunagi so well omg) were all highlights of 2024 and made this year so special. I think Lovely Runner deserved to be the best kdrama for 2024, and even deserved to be the best kdrama of all time. Way to go!!!

One thing is for sure, you’ll want to carry SunSol and run!

Lovely runner is a cute drama, has a lot of fluff and the leads have great chemistry. This drama isn’t for everyone. If you’re looking for something mature or more realistic you could skip.

I like the time loop/time slip concept. I’ve seen it in ‘The Call’, ‘365 repeat the year’ & ‘signal’ and maybe that’s why I liked this one as well.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying that 30+ year old ‘Im Sol’ doesn’t act her age. Honestly, 30 is just a number. I’ve realized that after having reported to 30+ year old managers at work who are super immature, still figuring out life yet shameless enough to advise you on how to live your life 🙄. I think Im Sol is way better, loveable and quite realistic.

This is the first drama I’ve seen Byeon Woo Seok in. I didn’t think I’d like him much, Idk how to explain this part… I guess I didn’t think he was that good looking (not hating, not sure what I was thinking, I’ve forgotten how I saw him before lovely runner) but he really grew on me. I think he is extremely charming as an actor. He is so charming that he can make you change your mind 360°. The guy can act, sing, has a presence and can make your heart flutter. Now every time I see a picture or video of him, I smile at my phone like a crazy person. Kim Hye Yoon played a similar character in Extraordinary you, which is also one of the reasons why Lovely Runner was written. She carried that drama (EY) but got very little recognition for that compared to the male leads. KHY has done well on this one as well. I think BWS and KHY have really good chemistry and shine equally in the drama. I’m glad they’re both getting the recognition they deserve.

I like the osts. I listen to Sonaki at least once a day while commuting.

The story itself isn’t something new. To me it feels like a collage of a few existing drama’s stories. For example, in 365 repeat the year, Nam Ji Hyun has the same disability and goes back in time to change that. The characters make you want to continue this drama more than the plot itself. I do believe some of the other characters felt a little incomplete and could’ve been explored more. Overall still a good watch.

There are 2 scenes that I didn’t like in the drama
1) The scene where Sol’s friend and brother are arguing and the kitchen is set on fire. It doesn’t make sense that they don’t smell the smoke or realize that a fire has broken out when they’re right there.
2) Sol decides to stay back at the village without a plan and deal the stalker on her own when she could’ve clearly avoided that and maybe the future would’ve eventually followed the same events that took place in the past which would’ve been better for her as she already had a plan to nab the stalker. But maybe it was her desperate attempt to break the vicious cycle of the stalker chasing her only to eventually kill Sun Jae.

A lot of people feel the stalker/killer guy had an anticlimactic ending but I kinda agree with what Kim Tae Sung says in the drama that these serial killers shouldn’t be glorified and given titles like evil, these people are simply trash. Trash doesn’t deserve a climatic ending, they deserve to be forgotten.

To conclude, I think the characters would shine even more if the story was written a tad bit better. If you’re not a budding philosopher who looks for logic and realism in everything then Lovely Runner is easy to watch, fun and leaves you with happy memories. It has a good ending and loveable characters. I wasn’t bored and this drama made me happy. Sol and Sun Jae go through a roller coaster ride to get their happy ending and you will want to carry them on your back and run.

LOSER SUNJAE IS THE BEST SUNJAE

QUE DECIR DEL KDRAMA QUE SE ACABA DE CONVERTIR DE MIS FAVORITOS Y QUE ENTRA EN MI TOP3. Una fantasía , lo comencé a los dos episodios, sin muchas esperanzas y pensando que probablemente lo dejaría y ha terminado siendo de mis favoritos. Todas las semanas esperando las preview, los teasers y viendo por twitter todas las teorias , elucubrando que podría pasar.
Al principio pensaba que era un amor de un fan demasiado entregada (en ciertos puntos saesang, ver yo no estaría en un grupo donde pasan videos de como reaniman a mi idol favorito) pero el final del capítulo 2 , cambio la historia del kdrama , esa escena donde descubres que Sunjae se enamoró primero, ha cambiado vidas os lo digo yo. Ir semana tras semana viendo como Sunjae va profudizando su amor y Sol comienza a enamorarse de Sunjae a la vez que trata de salvarlo en todas las lineas temporales es algo profundamente bonito. Me encantan como todan todos los cliches de romance y los abordan bien , es que simplemente CINE. Un buen romcom donde me he reido y no me han parecido escenas casposas. RYU SUN JAE va a ser el personaje que se nos va a quedar marcado a todas las doramaniacas. Kim Tae Sung el mejor second leal ever.
Menudo elenco de actores espero y deseo que a todos los comiencen el despunte y consigan muchos papeles en el futuro porque se lo merecen tras la magnifica actuación en este kdrama. Los lunes y los martes no serán los mismos sin el episodio de Lovely Runner. Lovely Runner vas a envejecer bien lo presiento.
