I just finished Flex X Cop and would advise people to check logic at the door because this is an entertaining watch as long as one doesn’t think too hard about it. For example, instead of wondering in what universe police would throw someone into a case with zero prior training (just imagine the potential liability), I would enjoy instead the protagonist’s fish out of water fumbling and his gradual acceptance by his peers. I had been underwhelmed by Bo Hyung Ahn as an actor in “See You My 19th Life,” but I’ve completely changed my mind after seeing him in this drama. He really sold his character and his story. I also thought that Park Ji Hyun, who plays the female lead, was good. The ending left A LOT of loose ends. I heard recently that there will be a second season, which explains all of the dangling threads.

"Flex x Cop" is a captivating KDrama that seamlessly blends action, drama, and suspense, creating an addictive viewing experience. With a gripping storyline full of unexpected twists, viewers are kept on the edge of their seats. Well Paced Story for a Casual Watch
It has been awhile since I enjoyed a good Dectective show. And I think Flex X Cop did somewhat hit the spot for me. It was an easy watch and I must compliment the Script for not over-staying on a particular plot - story kept developing what made it interesting for the viewer. I also liked the concept of JYS and I thought ABH played him to perfection - with that slightly naive touch. PJH did decently well for me and her chemistry with ABH clearly showed, through all their past work together. Side cast also provided good comedic relief, though very few were actually delved into. Main gripe for me was how painfully obvious the culprit was. I was praying for a plot twist at the end but unfortunately, it is how it is.Overall, still a good and easy drama to watch - the comedy and the cast's chemistry provided good vibes throughout. Excited for Season 2 but I do hope we get more well thought out cases.

IT'S NOT OVER YET......
The first season surprised me on several levels. It was a drama that had no episodes without importance or dragging. The whole story had good dynamics and followed a well-defined course. I always appreciate dramas that use episodes 15 and 16 to conclude the story. Most dramas use episode 16 for conclusions full of amenities and frivolities. However, FlexXCop used it differently, dosing its story effectively in 16 good episodes. It is a drama that deserves the success it achieved in South Korea and has the energy and potential for its second season, which I believe will only be released in 2026.
I liked the villain built in a complex way and shaped by the ambitions and neuroses of his mother, brought to us by Shi Yang with his character Seung Joo. This drama has a high level of quality and deserves only praise, there is nothing to criticise.

Fun & light action, comedy, thriller, drama
Korean dramas on Disney+ Flex x Cop have been hit and miss for me. For me, Flex x Cop is a hit. Watch it if you want a fun & light action, comedy, thriller drama. What I liked:
1) Ahn Bo Hyun always great at playing man baby but this role showcased his skills in both comedy & drama. I like when main character who is in a serious field has fun at work!
2) Supporting cast - Kyungjin character is so cute, glad he got a happy ending hahaha. I also enjoy the developing bromance between Isoo & Junyoung.
3) Love that the opening theme goes for a rock song . I also like other songs featured in the OST such as Hey! by Lucy and Shadows in the Night by Hersh.
4) It's great that writers did not fully explore romance between Isoo and Jihyun.
5) I like that the show showcased two different types of family dynamics: close-knit (Jihyun's family) vs cold, distant (Isoo's family).
What I disliked:
1) I understand that Isoo has connections but with that level of professional and life experiences, I am surprised he managed to solve a lot of the cases.
Favourite scene:
When Isoo was down and it was noticed by his cop friends.

Absolutely Enjoyed this Series
This is absolutley one of the better Kdrama's I have ever watched and simpy the best show of 2024 so far. Periodt! Great cast and characters, good plot and mostly good writing. A few things annoyed me but overall a genuinely good show. I loved the cases they worked on and I loved the teamwork. The balance of comedy and drama was done so well in this series.Ahn Bo Hyun as Jin Isoo is perfect casting. The character could have been annoying but he was sweet, loveable and so damn likeable. Literally one of my favorite characters ever and his characater growth was phenomenal.
The show was a solid 10 for me but unfortunately the cliche villian trope was just so unnecesary and that's really the biggest negative I have about the series. Most of the writing was good but this and a few other inconsistent, nonsensical things is the reason I took that point away!! I would still rewatch this though and I rarely rewatch any shows.

S1 tanked at the end
As late as ep 11/12 of 16 it was heading for 8-8.25 but I'm punishing it for the AWFUL final quarter. 12 eps of entertaining OTT buddy-cop fun with a nicely nuanced growth in the lead characters' relationships and perceptions of each other, then makjang madness meltdown.Paradoxically , the risible final quarter has made me MORE interested in checking to S2. If the makjang is all done, S2 MIGHT return to what S1 did best. S!'s final 4 it abandoned any pretence of the merest shred of credibility or internal coherence. It's very sad that it's opted for a traditional makjang "resolve" and utterly abandoned the entertaning OTT buddy-cop formula that worked so well for the first 12 eps. The finale is the stuff of weekenders or even worse, dailies. BUT, with the makjang family bakvaas out of the way, S2 might save it. Especially if there is NO romance between the leads

Just finished watching the last episode, and I’m so ready for a second season. This show it was amazing I mean each character had their own story. It was fully thoroughly shown throughout each episode the storyline flowed very smoothly. Everything wasn’t so predictable like some K dramas could be, I love the action I love the actors the cast was just amazing the direction of each scene it was just great. Female Lead was just awesome 👌. I wish it was more episodes , but no issues .. eagerly waiting for season 2.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Overused plot
Don't get me wrong, this series was one of my most anticipated releases for this year but it kind of disappointed me. Maybe this show is not my cup of tea but the storywriters are just being lazy. They could have given us a better storyline by making the stepmother of Isoo not one of the bad guys. This plot, this character is being overused and stereotypical. But still love the bond between him and his brother. One thing I am irritated with is the attitude of the FL. Ik that she is harsh on him because she perceives him as just a rich kid enjoying Papa's money but her character could have been executed and written better. She is not being 'bold' by being rude for no reason. Also, I can't feel anything from her character like her expressions are just not giving the vibe that the character she is playing in this series should give. On the other hand, I think that Ahn Bo-hyun did the right job by playing this character. He gives off good energy and vibes. Every scene containing him is exciting so rather than adding a romance sub-plot with this terrible FL, increase his screentime and make this a show only for him instead.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

The Editing is horrible
Whoever did the editing for the series - should go back to editing school, and if it was director's decision.... Why? 왜?The sudden cuts to the black halts the flow of the story, if it would happen only few times an episode to show that it took prolonged time between the scenes or something, I could understand it, but now
every
scene
ends
and
stars
with
a
black
cut
Somebody needs to relearn Cinematic language (when you want to break the rules, first you need to understand them and why they are how they are). The cuts not only take away the visuals but audio as well, which is even more jarring. There is a saying among filmmakers - "the most important part of the cinema is sound". The cuts to the black (and to the silence) should Have some value to the overall story, but now they are just... there.
These unnecessary cuts:
* take the audience away from the story ("Wait, what happened? Oh, we're back. Ok... What? It happened again? ... Oh, again? I guess I will check my phone then.")
* halts the story itself, the story should build up during the episode like a chart going slightly up, however with the cuts, the story always needs to start from the ground up: /\/\/\/\
I can skip uninteresting parts of the series, I can suspend my disbelieve with certain unbelievable things, I can enjoy the humour and good acting. However, I Cannot make myself go through the sudden STOP signs, which suddenly kick me out through the front window onto the pavement.
