I’m being as generous as I can; it’d have been a 10 last year and my easy 10s but it was my 2023 resolution to stop thatSo basically, nam joohyuk was a 100/10, acting, character fit, handsomeness and oozing gorgeousness
Ahjussi oppa as well did great
The shortcomings for me is the “bad guys” and the lack of overall deep buildup
It had Bloodhounds vibes but it also lacked in making up for the shortcomings, ie bromance and more character drive
It was certainly rushed, and I do have an add on filter when bad guys chitchat and nag so they made zero impact on me
Maybe it needed a bit more victim drive, ie the sadness, tension and anger of victims
Something to add a touch of humanity
Bad guys are crazy trash but wanting to punish them deprives the human connection
People need sympathy, kindness otherwise the vigilantes are just psychopaths hidden under a hero cape
Hot psychopaths but still. Also not at iPhone for turning hot into not, it must think im crazy to use hot and psychopath in the same sentence

I honestly really liked this show it was really good. I didn't like really like the ending though, was a bit sad about it. I would honestly recommend this to someone if they liked this type of genre like I do. During the show I wondered how Kang-Ok figured out that Ji-yong was vigilante. I think the actors did a pretty good job. I loved kang ok and how he was so obsessive. This has a good performance.Esta resenha foi útil para você?

An Exciting Crime Thriller
How often have we questioned the leniency of the judicial system?Adapted from the webtoon, “Vigilante” ( 비질란테) written by CRG and starring Nam Joo Hyuk in the lead role, Disney+ latest psychological thriller answers this question and some more. After “The Worst of Evil”, I was expecting another exciting ride and “Vigilante” doesn’t disappoint. It is a rather fast-paced crime thriller that will instantly grab your attention and make you venture a guess about the protagonist’s thoughts. It is indeed a dark sojourn, no prizes for guessing that. Frankly, “Vigilante” represents all those victims who failed to gain justice against their evil perpetrators. It is gusty, violent and likely justified, even though there might be many who can’t accept the brutality extended by the main lead towards various assailants. The main character’s duality and his complex emotions form the gist of this storyline. What I loved about this show is that the script doesn’t shy away from using violence as a viable means to punish outlaws who escape punishments using the loopholes in the judicial system. Nam Joo-hyuk’s uncanny transformation from a romantic hero to an action hero delivering justice is surprising and shocking. The first two episodes project an anti-hero in the making, who hightails as a police academy student on weekdays and as the “Vigilante” on weekends.

Vigilante: An Underrated Action Masterpiece That Deserves More Attention, in My Opinion!❣️
Vigilante is hands down one of the best action K-dramas I've seen this year! It's such an underrated gem that deserves more love. I was hooked from the first episode and couldn't stop watching. The cast is incredible, and Nam Joo Hyuk's performance in his first action genre drama was outstanding. The story is absolutely captivating. The anti-hero concept is amazing, and I totally wish there were more episodes too. I don’t like some characters, but there are always characters we don't like in most series, but that's part of the fun. After finishing Vigilante, I couldn't help but think that we need a season 2 ASAP. Plus, it's a shame that not many people are talking about it. Overall, it's definitely one of the top K-dramas released this year, and I highly recommend it!!🫶🏻Esta resenha foi útil para você?

Vigilante story done right
It's been a short while since I finished the show so I wanted to share my thoughts. The story:
This show truly delivers in what it promises; a vigilante story. It's well-executed from start to finish with great acting from all cast members. The story grabs you in and you don't realise how much until the credits rolls. The ending was exactly what I hoped for. One man can't alone change the system, but he can create a spark that could burn it down. And there'll always be someone who'll try to fight against corruption and evil-minded humans.
The OSTs:
There has rarely been a show where I've been obsessed with the sound design as I've been with this show. From the song choices to the score choices, it just fit perfectly and elevated the show to a next level. As I'm writing this review, no OSTs or scorealbum have been released. It's a shame because this show's sound was phenomenal.
So I'm excited to see if this one gets a second season, but the first one is plenty enjoyable alone.

Just to give a different perspective

Seems it’s so so hyped, so just thought of copying the comment I have written earlier.
Not so great, unless u have time. Plot is pretty weak. No depth in characters or relationships. No thrilling moments or suspense, bland.
Acting was good. Decent action sequences. It’s 7 imo.

Best drama of the year.
From the beginning until to end, there is no scene getting bored. All the casts appearance and acting so great. Especially Kim Ji Yong portrayed by Nam Joo Hyuk perfectly act by him. Nam Joo Hyuk is Kim Ji Yong himself. His acting has give me goosebumps in some of the scenes. His eyes gazed give me chill. His acting in this drama top notch 💪💪💪💪. No one can act as Kim Ji Yong except Nam Joo Hyuk. His best role so far for his 10th year career. We are looking forward to see him in other roles after he discharge from military service. Once again, Nam Joo Hyuk You are the great and best actor i have seen so far. Looking forward to hear you will receive many awards for Vigilante 🎊🎊🔥🔥🥵🥵Esta resenha foi útil para você?
morally ambiguous yet justifiable actions portrayed in one of the most exciting ways possible!
Story - 10/10
Vigilante aka Kim Ji-Yong, a student at the police university is simultaneously a criminal that's taking the country by storm. Ji-Yong's character from its core is contradictory. A police officer who is the epitome of law enforcement and a vigilante who breaks the law, being the same person is always very interesting. Ji-Yong defies what is expected of him and does purely what he believes is right. He's a dark hero, an evil fighting greater evil.
Vigilantism is a topic that often causes debate. Are acts of vigilantism right or wrong? In Ji-Yong's case, he is a serial killer, murder is murder no what the reason is. On the other hand, death penalty and self-defence exist, they are known as justifiable. The question is where do we draw the line between what is justifiable and what is not? I felt that this drama really moral ambiguities of the characters.
No character was truly "good" in my opinion. Cho Heon although he punished criminals through law, his process of catching criminals wasn't always lawful. He confronted Ji-Yong, telling him that what he was doing was criminal. But failed to see that many of his own actions can be labelled "criminal". Choi Mi-Ryeo, a reporter that doesn't hide the truth and brings justice through he raw reports, her ways of pushing the truth even if it could be harmful or her ways of attaining that truth can also be labelled "criminal". The people who watch the vigilante take action through murder but voice their support for his actions can also be labelled as "criminal". In the end, it was just about who had the capacity to wholeheartedly stand by what they believe in.
The drama was paced very well. There was no scene that felt like a filler. Every moment felt crucial and complimentary to the story. The action scenes were very satisfying to watch. The suspense was never lacking. The story was clear, easy to understand but also entertaining and mysterious in certain ways.
The ending felt complete but it also gave much room for a second season. The battle isn't over. So, I hope we get a season 2.
Personally, I love seeing morally grey characters. They are often more interesting than characters who are defined good or evil. A story about a dark hero who becomes a monster to fight off greater monsters, is never not thrilling.
Acting & Cast - 10/10
Nam Joo-Hyuk, is not really an actor I love. He has always felt rather stiff and quite limited in my opinion. But Joo-Hyuk really proved himself through this drama. I think this is his best role yet. I could feel so much improvement in his acting. This character felt like it was made especially for him. Action and thriller genres really suit him. I hope he takes on more roles in these genres rather than always sticking to romance. Not only Joo-Hyeok but the entire cast did a phenomenal job. Kim So-Jin was the other person that really impressed me in this drama. Her acting was equally amazing. I could clearly see her obsession increasing and taking over her. She did a great job at portraying her character in entertaining way, I could see how much of a workaholic, obsessed, and righteous her character was in a unique way.
Music & Sound - 9.5/10
I was too focused during the drama to notice the music and sound. But the ending OST was very catchy and appropriate. The BGM didn't steal away the focus from acting and did well in enhancing every scene.
Rewatch Value - 8/10
The rewatch value being low isn't always a bad thing. The drama was very memorable to me. I don't think I need to rewatch to be able to recall the drama. I was so engrossed in it that when I close my eyes I can watch the whole drama in my head. Still, I'd be tempted to rewatch for just the sake of rewatching, just to remind myself that this masterpiece is a masterpiece.
Overall - 10/10
Overall, this drama was one of the best action-thriller dramas ever. I throughly enjoyed it.
Thanks for reading so far hehe <3

What i think about this?
The Acting was pretty good but although i think maybe with stabbing scenes the acting was a bit low. It might be because they didn't wanna involve much on the violence. However i have only watched 1 episode and I'm glad to say i will definitely watch it when all the episode are out. I really love the acting of the male lead but i would of liked a little bit more psycho acting. But overall i do think these acting have definitely mastered the show its very interesting. I really love plot on the first episode but however i think is it bit rushed. But i do suggest to wath it. The music was okay but i didn't take much notice the music.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
